I stopped by to order some takeout dinner, it's a place easy to miss, next to a Senior Taco Mexican Food. The restaurant has a very small storefront, but I am always looking for a nice restaurant to try out. I came right before it closed in the early afternoon. It's definitely a place that I can take my mom to try out a lunch special. It's a small place in terms of tables, but they do have one round table that can seat about six people, the other tables seat two to four people. There is plenty of parking, near Kooser and Blossom Hill Road in San Jose. You can check it out for a lunch or dinner meal, it plays quiet Asian music in the background, so you can enjoy your conversations and not have to raise your voice.

Great personal service. Party of two, seated right away. The restaurant smelled wonderful with Mongolian beef and other smells. Ordered tea, soda, Hunan chicken, Mongolian beef, and beef fried rice. Should have gotten a soup too - next time. The dishes were plentiful and delicious. The soda was refilled like three times. Our waitress was really attentive. The staff started cleaning and mopping 15 minutes before closing time so we got out of the way. Luckily we were done eating and just chit chatting by then.

I don't care how good the food is. I called, was put on hold for 15 minutes. Called back, lady said, "Mandarin House, can you hold?" I stopped her to say, "I've been on hold for 15 minutes, are you too busy to take an order?" Then she puts me on hold again. Never mind then. I don't need to eat here.

Found this hidden gem and obsessed with their food. Many Chinese restaurants to choose from in the bay, but this is a must. From their friendly warm staff, greeting you to their delicious fresh authentic food. I want to order one of everything it's so amazing. Will be a forever customer worth the 30 min drive

Very nice place for American Chinese food. We ordered Changsa chicken, Fish with black bean sauce and chicken chow mein. Food came pretty fast and was piping hot. Great flavors. Helpings are good size, you'll likely have leftovers. Good service. Plenty of parking in the mall

I am happpy to have discovered this place as the food is really good but a bit disappointed as this place could really use some organization to make it look esthetic inviting. We went there after the farmers market at the Princeton plaza and honestly almost thought would not eat here as the place looked so disorganized with lots of restaurants goods lying around. Seriously people, we should clean those up to Make the place more inviting for people who care about the ambiance. Now talking about the food and service was a different story, our server was Kevin and he was very informative and patient with our order! Our food: house fried rice, vegetable noodles and stir fry string beans were super delicious. Now I want to try other dishes soon but unless they clean up the place it will be mostly takeout for me when I want to eat at home!

Excellent food and service. Have eaten there several times. The only bad comment is there closed Monday. The ladies there take care of you.

Came here with family to celebrate a birthday. What we tried: eggplant with shredded pork claypot (3/5) -- eggplant was a bit overcooked and the sauce was overpowering orange chicken (4/5) -- sweeter than average, super crispy battered chicken but more batter than chicken. A little bit of a kick and easy to eat by everyone. beef broccoli (4/5) -- tender meat, big portion and solid flavor peking pork chops (3/5) -- too sweet for peking sauce..maybe too much ketchup and the pork was soggy beef chow fun (3/5) -- the fun was a little too soft for my liking so it kind of felt like overcooked? And the sauce was super strong for me The quality of ingredients is good, but flavors a bit off for me. I would be willing to try more dishes of theirs

An update! I want to give a shout out, this is genuinely the best takeout restaurant in the area. The food is decently priced, but is always hot, fresh, and amazing tasting. The biggest thing? THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS. To all my fellow gluten-sensitive/free people, they have a bunch of options. They can make pretty much anything breaded with cornstarch, and it is FANTASTIC. I know gluten free is pretty hard to find in terms of takeout, but this place has nailed it. My family and I come here regularly, and absolutely adore it. Typically I order it and pick it up, but when eating in, the restaurant itself is adorable. The staff is always so kind, and the food is pretty speedy. It's a simple pick up, go to the register, give the name and phone number, pay, and boom! Fresh, delicious take out. Make it worth your day and go here!

    ARE Are there lunch specials?

    Yes there is. Good selection.

Does anyone know if they use MSG?

I don't believe they use MSG since I am very sensitive to it and never felt ill all the times I've eaten there. Besides, they are very accommodating so if they did, just request no MSG.

I arrived on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. Dave's Hot Chicken is located in the nice Village Oaks Plaza off Cottle Road in South San Jose. Plenty of parking is accessible in the large parking lot all around. The restaurant has a vibrant modern decor with bright fun graffiti plastered all around the walls. It is spacious with plenty of tables inside for dining. I wanted to try a bit of everything so I ordered Dave's meal #3 which consisted of 1 tender, 1 slider, 1 slice of bread, pickles, and a side of Dave's sauce. I selected mild heat level. Everything was delicious. The tender was moist and flavorful. The slider was scrumptious with every bite. Fries were crispy and salted just right. Dave's sauce worked perfectly with everything. Overall I enjoyed my experience at Dave's Hot Chicken. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was family friendly and welcoming. Opening until late night hours is convenient. I will be back to try the other menu options.

This place has been on my list for a while now…read more I called for a to-go order on 4/12/26 and got the Kao Gai Sap and fried chicken skins. When I came by, there wasn't really any other patrons there so picking up my food was easy. Inside was very decorative too, it has that mom-and-pop vibe to it. Kao Gai Sap (5/5) - The chicken was soft and juicy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. It came with a chili dipping sauce, and I opted for white rice instead of chicken rice. This has to be by far the BEST chicken I've ever had. The chicken was seasoned to perfection. Cucumber was crisp and refreshing, although I do wish there were a few more slices. Would definitely order this again. Also, this Kao Gai Sap also came with a small portion of soup which was also equally as good! When you order this, make sure to ask for it LAAB STYLE! Crispy chicken skin (5/5) - I mean it's fried chicken skin, but I'm pretty sure they used the same salt/pepper seasoning on this as they did with the Kao Gai Sap, which gave it a nice flavor profile as opposed to being plain. The lemon-pepper dipping sauce was the perfect pairing with the chicken skin. The lemon flavor was there as well as the pepper, but both were very mild and didn't overpower each other. That dipping sauce made a HUGE difference. ALSO GET THIS LAAB STYLE! Will definitely be coming back because I'm hooked now. No one does chicken like Tuk Tuk!

And first we were alarmed because we could see no one was in the establishment... maybe not a good sign. But when we walked in, we noticed one of the employees diligently wiping down all of the tables - and the entire place was sparkling clean. She stopped what she was doing and greeted us behind the counter. We were mulling over the four simple menu choices, and she steered us to splitting one. We decided on the Number #1 - sliders - Hot spice level cause I like it hot. When our food was ready, we were shocked, and I do mean, shocked, to find they had split the meal for us. Two different trays, two different plates of fries and one slider each. I'm not sure I've ever experienced that at a fast food restaurant, or even a semi casual dining place without specifically asking. Nice touch customer service wise! To be honest, I wasn't expecting much as far as the food goes. After all, it's chicken and it's semi-fast food chicken. I couldn't have been more wrong. The generous, all white meat tender on the slider was perfectly moist and delicious! The Hot level of seasoning was perfect for me, but a little much for my husband. I think they spell it out correctly on their menu board... Hot-feel the burn, Medium - perfect heat. The coleslaw and the pickles on the slider were a perfect cooling accompaniment. I'm pretty picky about my coleslaw and theirs was very good. The special sauce on the side also added some Yum factor. The fries were hot, crispy, and delicious. Overall, this was so much better than I was expecting. Besides the food being really good, the employee who was cleaning when we walked in and then helping us from behind the counter was absolutely delightful.

Then about a week ago I got the crispy Thai brussels sprouts, and they were DELICIOUS! Today I got chicken tenders and the elote side dish. The chicken tenders were good and reminded me of fast food I used to get as a kid. I kinda regretted the meal afterwards because it was a lot of sodium and fried food not the healthiest choice.
