This is by far the best pizza place in Lakeway. Tony C's is good as well, but for price / value Mangieri's is a better pizza place. I personally like the pizza's at Mangieri's better. In all honesty they are two completely different types of pizza (they are cooked different). On the atmosphere, it's great. The staff is friendly, you get seated instantly and the patio is done right (with fans for hot days and heaters for cold). Almost every time I have been there one of the owners has been there making sure everyone is being taken care of. As the reviewer noted above - it is very family friendly, but it is possible to enjoy it for a "date night" with the wife. If going without kids you may want to sit inside to avoid the playing children. If you go with your kids - sit outside... They have a entire playground area connected and completely fenced in - you can enjoy a adult dinner while watching the kids play.. pure genius that only a parent will understand! One last thing, they have a lunch special that is around $6 that includes salad, drink, and entree (2 topping pizza, sandwich choice, or pasta choice). For the month or so I was in the Lakeway area this was the best pizza I had. Not the best pizza I'd ever had, but still pretty good! Wasn't a fan of how they cut the pizza into small pieces instead of regular slices but that's a minor thing. read more

If you are gluten free, stay away from Mangierie' s. My daughter and I ate their gluten free Bbq pizza this evening and she has been projectile vomiting ever since. We verified with the food runner that the pizza was gluten free. Upon taking a bite she wasn't convinced it was gluten free so she asked the waiter, who again assured us it was gluten free. When we received our bill, our pizza was listed as whole wheat, not gluten free. I quickly went to the counter and explained our situation so the girl asked the chef who also assured us that the pizza was simply entered wrong in the system but was indeed gluten free. We left the restaurant hopeful that it was just a mix up but that was not the case. Within 30 minutes of leaving the restaurant, full blown gluten poisoning was in full effect. We had to hunt down one of the 3 waiters who were working this evening to get plates, for every refill, to get the dressing they forgot to bring with salads. I think Mangieri's is a great place to take the kids as well as a nice night out for adults. The playground is awesome and keeps the children busy & is definitely a huge plus in my book. The wait staff is good for the most part, but can be a little slow at times. But overall I like Mangieri's and they will definitely have my business again. read more

Food was great and service was very good as well. Kids meals were great (alfredo and pizza). Veggie Bistro pizza was fresh and delicious. Calzone was huge and also very good. Family friendly and even has a playground. Covered patio with fans is great on a hot summer night. Drinks are smallish but potent. We order Mangieris Pizza a lot for local delivery! They are quick and the pizzas are quite a bit better than average. I love how they have such a unusual variety. They also have whole grain crust... so if you get thin crust and veggie with a small amount of cheese its really healthy! read more

Just love it for the kids and Monday Night Football. My fiancee and I and her little boy dropped in last Monday and watched the Saints while enjoying an appetizer of bruschetta, a chicken veggie pizza that was a thin crust style, yum and a bottle of Zin that was 50% off on Monday night, what luck. We sat outside in their enclosed patio under heaters on a cold night and watched our boy play on the playground, how relaxing! Worst pizza ever from Mangieri's, Lakeway!! I ordered 6 large pizzas for delivery to my home at 8:30 pm on 4/13. Two cheese, two pepperoni and two sausage. They were the smallest "large" pizzas I have ever seen with a total cost of $86.00 including a $10.00 tip for delivery. At first site I thought all the pizzas were plain cheese until someone pointed out the small pieces of pepperoni instead of the usual 1" to 1 1/2" diameter pieces. If there were mushrooms on the mushroom pizza they must have been put in a blender. The pizza boxes were warm when delivered but the pizzas were tough when the boxes were open. I wonder how long the boxes sat on top of the oven before they were delivered. The cheese was solid and not melted. The tomato sauce had no taste and there wasn't even a hint of olive oil. I had 20 people at my home from the Austin area and Mangieri's did not score a hit with any of my guests. I know Mangieri's serves good Italian food if you eat at their cafe or have them cater but they need to visit a pizzeria in Brooklyn to find out how to make good pizza with aged cheeze and generous toppings and deliver it right after it comes out of their oven. Tonight we headed over to Mangieri's for some pizza and a place for the kids to play. Poor service. Our waiter seemed distracted and we kept getting approached by other waiters wanting to bring us other peoples orders. My husband is lactose intolerant and even though he ordered his sandwich with no cheese it came out with it anyway. 20 minutes later after the rest of us had finished our dinner his corrected one arrived. This is a great addition to Lakeway. Whether we want to go out for a quick bite or have some amazing pizza delivered, Mangieri's is who we choose! Everytime we go we sit at the bar and get great service and are able to pick which game we want on tv. I have had everything from pizza to the italian beef sandwich and all were amazing! I finally got around to trying Mangieri's in Lakeway - I called and ordered a large "Sicilian" and a small cheese for pickup. They were already waiting for me when I arrived - I wondered how they could make up a pizza and cook it in no more than 15 minutes? I found out - the crust was tasteless cardboard, there was NO discernable sauce, it had a very thin layer of DRY cheese, and the toppings were very sparse; I could get a better pizza out of a box in the freezer case at the nearby Randall's. (The small cheese pizza might as well have been a cracker with a little dry cheese out of a bottle sprinkled on.) Very disappointing, won't be returning. read more

Mangieris is a decadent establishment. Not only is the food top notch, but the staff is so incredible I felt like family the second I walked in. Just moved to the Lakeway area a couple of weeks ago and saw this place coming and going. So I called in an order to pick up. Got the side Greek salad and the Classico pizza. The salad was very fresh. The pizza was great! If you like Pap Johns or Dominoes, you probably won't like here. The crust is thin and crispy and very flavorful. The chicken was great as was the basil and other toppings. I will definitely eat here again. Although next time I'll be dining in. The decor was not what I was expecting. Very quaint!
