    Foie gras mousse
    Samuel C.

A restaurant that has beautiful views of the city. Good for special occasions. Service was great. Food was disappointing. Started off with the amuse which was tasty. Had foie gras mousse as the first course which was on the sweet side. The glazed sweetbread was well balanced and flavorful. The lamb was forgetful and inconsistent in the cook.

I visited Manhatta in FiDi for lunch on a Saturday and opted for a 3 course prix fixe menu. They offer both 2 course and 3 course lunch options. While dinner features a different menu and pricing as well. For my meal, I started with the smoked burrata, which was fresh and a great way to begin the meal.for my entree, I chose the spaghetti with zucchini, lobster and summer truffle. It wasn't that great. For dessert, I ordered the toasted rice millefeuille with rice cream and jam. This was absolutely delicious. I also had the chance to try my partner's dry aged burger and it was really good. The burger was so juicy and flavorful. If I had known how good it was going to be, I would've swapped my entree. Overall, the service was amazing and the food. Great experience and would return again.

We visited Manhatta on a Saturday for my birthday and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is located on the 60th floor of 28 Liberty Street and offers breathtaking views of Lower Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, Staten Island, and New York Harbor. Before our table was ready, we waited in the lounge area and enjoyed the incredible views. A thoughtful touch was the personalized birthday note waiting on our table when we arrived, which made the occasion feel extra special. The atmosphere was elegant but welcoming, and it was interesting to see that many other guests were also celebrating birthdays and special occasions there. We came for lunch and ordered the two-course lunch menu. To start, we had the "Beef Tartare" and "Fluke Crudo", followed by the "Grilled Sea Bass", "Dry-Aged Burger", and "Lobster Ravioli" for our mains. For dessert, we enjoyed the "Coconut Mousse" and paired the meal with red wine and the "Land of the Sun" cocktail. The restaurant has an excellent selection of red, white, and sparkling wines. The service was friendly and attentive without ever making us feel rushed.. We took our time, enjoyed the food, the drinks, and the stunning views, making it a memorable birthday celebration.

Summer Restaurant Week- Seeded bun, koji onion, Cooper Sharp, shiitake mayo, and house-cut potato chips. Very beefy. Good burger. Wish fries

I was here earlier in the day for their Summer Restaurant Week, which is available daily for lunch for either $60 for 2 courses or $70 for 3. In comparison to their normal menu, this is decently priced, and it's nice that this place offers their lunch or weekends. Another nice difference here is that there was only one dish that was a supplement, being the beef tartare for $10 more. The staff was very friendly, with her being knowledgeable about the menu and giving good suggestions. You partially go here for the atmosphere, as it's on the 60th floor, and it was nice that the other side of the restaurant that is used for events was also open, so our group could see the views on both ends, including a nice view of the Statue of Liberty. The food in general was good with very nice presentations. To drink, I went with a complimentary sparkling water. They gave us some pretty good bread with decent butter to begin with. My appetizer of choice was the Fluke Crudo, with sungold kiwi, aji amarillo, and avocado. The crudo consisted of several thick pieces in a broth with a bit of avocado cream on top, while the kiwi was chopped. The fish was good quality, and the broth added a bit of sourness and sweetness. There was also a nice crunchy texture from some pearls, likely made from roasted rice or similar. This was overall refreshing and tasty. Another person got the same dish as me, and one other loved the Apulian Burrata, served with rose and lettuce kimchi, amaretto, and stone fruit. My main was the Dry Aged Burger, served on a seeded bun with koji onion, Cooper Sharp, and house-cut potato chips. The burger was juicy and cooked to a perfect medium rare and was very beefy. The sweet caramelized onions helped cut the richness of the meat while the cheddar added a touch of saltiness. There was also a shiitake-infused mayo, which added to the richness, though I couldn't taste the mushrooms much. The chips on the side were fine, though I would prefer fries, either frites or waffle style. It also came with a standard half pickle. Overall, it was a tasty burger, which highlighted the meat more than anything else, and as it was mostly about the beef, it reminded me the most of a burger from a handful of steakhouses or Rolo's. The majority of others enjoyed the Charcoal Grilled Sea Bass with corn, cilantro, and mussels escabeche, while one person ordered and enjoyed the Eliche Pasta with summer truffle, mushroom, and pecorino. In particular, the sea bass looked wonderful, and everyone loved this sauce. For dessert, I ordered the Lemon Verbena Semifreddo with fromage blanc and melon sherbet, which had an artful presentation like the crudo. The texture of the semifreddo felt a bit off, but I liked how citrusy it was, which was toned down by the melon sherbet. There were also small cubes of melon. It was tasty, but probably my least favorite of the three courses. For those who got dessert, the majority got and enjoyed the Chocolate Mousse with sobacha, malt, and corn silk ice cream. We overall had a good time here. It wasn't the best meal I've ever had, but it was certainly worth it for Restaurant Week.

As I begin to pen this particular Yelp up for those who see my images and words, I have to admit that my experience didn't come from being an actual patron of the restaurant/bar but as someone on an assignment that found me working there for the night. Manhatta sits on the 60th Floor of 28 Liberty Street and when you walk into the place this is a very comfortable lounge to use should you be waiting for additional members of your party. Once upstairs the patrons can enjoy a panoramic view of the city and while it looks pretty cool during the day, in the evening this is simply magnificent and reminds you just how amazing NYC is. I only saw one section of the city based on where I was doing the work but it was so cool. Now the reason I decided to offer up some Yelping was based on the restaurant feeding the folks who were working. They served up a couple of different salads, a fish dish, a chicken dish and some potatoes. I had one of the salads, the chicken and the potatoes and since I am weird on fish dishes I left that for my co-workers. Needless to say this was some tasty stuff and my compliments to the chef. I was happy to be able to have seconds :) The facilities were great, super clean and spacious with private stalls that completely closed you in for extra privacy. While I don't mind the other types of them, these are very nice to experience every once in awhile. There was also a complimentary WiFi signal to use during the stay and that allows you to quickly share highlight moments with your friends or social media followers without using your own data resources. Based on the menu prices that I saw this is a pricy dining experience but its a classy one with good food and great views. The staff seemed very friendly which is always nice to observe but if you do pay them a visit try to do it in the evening when the view is spectacular.

Such an amazing dining experience in NYC! I booked this place for my dad's birthday and they kindly gave us a window seat with a stunning Manhattan skyline view. For around $78, you get a three-course lunch, incredible views from the 60th floor, and great service--honestly better value than most observation decks. The food was consistently good with no misses, and the atmosphere felt calm and local, not touristy at all. Perfect spot if you want to enjoy the skyline without the crowds.

I absolutely love Manhatta! It's charming, classy, romantic, and the food is delicious. Recently with the good weather in New York we've been getting into rooftop/high elevation dining experience. This restaurant lounge is situation on the 60th floor in the FiDi area. They start with a coat check on the first floor before welcoming you to the 60th floor. There is a bar area to sit at to wait for your table if it's not ready yet. They offer a lunch course menu, a bit more affordable compared to the dinner course menu. If you want to order a la carte, that's only from the bar area seating with is first come first serve. We got a reservation for lunch to do a celebration and they even wrote congratulations on the post card displayed on our table. While windows seatings are never guaranteed, when we came around 2pm on a weekend it wasn't completely packed and most groups were able to be seated near a window. From the 3 course menu food we ordered: - beef tartare - fluke crudo - sea bass with mussels - Berkshire pork neck - cheese plater - millefeuille Everything was delicious and tasted really fresh. I'm usually not a raw meat person but the beef tartare was prepared so well I couldn't resist! I love the rice crunch paired with the green sauce, it was irresistible. I don't know why but I was obsessed with the grilled okra in the Berkshire pork neck entree. Something about the combinations - the flavorful dry spice with the perfect smoky charcoal grilled complex - unforgettable. (I love my vegetables) The dishes were not only all mouthwatering but also pleasing to the eyes. I would highly recommend this place! The service was also excellent. It's the perfect place for a date or even celebrating something with family and friends. I also saw someone came by themselves just to enjoy the skyline view in peace.

Beautiful views on the 60th floor. Great staff always Danny Meyer style . Had prix fixe lunch menu.Beef tartar excellent had a crunch to it with a touch of kick. Fluke crudo beautifully presented taste great. Pork neck amazing pasta with lobster cooked well with truffles but not that tasty which they took back immediately and ordered the pork neck. Chocolate moose ok cheese plate standard but good. Wines always great selection.2 course 65$ 3 course 78$

Great restaurant in the financial district. The downstairs coat check and check in was very organized and easy. Beautiful views and great lounge and dining area. There was a bit of a wait to be seated but it didn't take too long. We went for restaurant week and really enjoyed the food. The burrata dish was pretty yummy. I did feel like it was missing something and I didn't quite see how the olive crumble fit with the dish. The burger was absolutely delicious although was definitely cooked more than a medium rare. However it was super juicy and I loved it so I can't complain. The campfire mousse dessert was so yummy. For some it may be too sweet but I loved it. Service throughout was great. Would definitely recommend for a panoramic dinner experience at a reasonable price. Food was also pretty good.

This sky high FiDi restaurant on the 60th floor of the 28 Liberty St. tower was the perfect place to celebrate the semiquincentennial of US Independence Day with its commanding view of the Brooklyn Bridge and New York City skyline. On a rainy 4th of July, it was nice to be indoors while still enjoying a perfect view of the fireworks. The chicly decorated bar and dining room was decked out in red, white, and blue balloons, a cornhole tossing station, a skee-ball machine, a hotdog cart, a Photo Booth, and an open bar serving patriotic jello shots and themed cocktails. The staff was warm and cheerful, passing out hors d'oeuvres and desserts throughout the night. The buffet featured all American classics like chunky Buffalo chicken wings, tender porchetta, and delicious cheeseburgers fresh off the grill with koji onions and Cooper sharp cheese. The crowd was a mix of young and old and everyone was well dressed. I would definitely go back to celebrate a special occasion.

Run don't walk to try Rebecca Choi's dessert menu at Manhatta. We had some ice cream with honey and all of the components were just magical together. The entire meal was lovely and the service and view are incredible.

main course arrived but still waiting for my cocktail

We came to Manhatta for Restaurant Week with high expectations, especially given the restaurant's reputation and the level of experience it clearly aims to provide. Unfortunately, while the food was exceptional, the service and overall hospitality left a lot to be desired. My wife made the reservation, and we arrived about 10 minutes early because I wanted to be respectful of the restaurant's time. This was our second time and we were excited since it rained the last time we were there and weren't able to see the beautiful views from the 60th floor venue. We were seated temporarily in a small booth across from the bar while waiting for our table. From the beginning, the experience felt a bit off. When I asked the hostess where the washroom was, she pointed down the hall and mumbled the directions without even looking at me. Not exactly the warmest welcome. What bothered me more was what happened while we waited. THREE different window-side two-tops became available, and each was given to couples who arrived after us. I understand that seating arrangements can depend on reservations and table assignments, so perhaps one or two of those parties had earlier reservations. But seeing three separate tables open up and repeatedly watching later arrivals get seated made us wonder why we were being passed over. We were eventually seated in a booth farthest corner of the restaurant, without the view that is arguably one of Manhatta's biggest draws, after watching several other couples who arrived after us get seated. The wait staff were friendly, but the service was painfully slow and forgetful. Our drink order (a signature cocktail and a glass of wine) which was ordered at the start arrived after we had already finished our first course. My wife's wine finally arrived just before our main course, while mine showed up another 5-10 minutes later. My water glass went more than 15 minutes without being refilled on multiple occasions. On two separate instances, we were asked whether we wanted bread, said yes, and then simply never received it. I realize that complaining about bread and water may sound petty, but that's really the point: at a restaurant that is clearly trying to deliver a Michelin-level dining experience, the details matter. Slow drinks, forgotten requests, empty water glasses, and an indifferent greeting add up. And the frustrating part is that the food was incredible. The beef tartare was outstanding , the fluke crudo was divine, the charcoal-grilled sea bass was delicious, and the burger was arguably one of the best I've ever had--even compared with the double Wagyu burger at 4 Charles. The kitchen absolutely delivered. Unfortunately, the service never came close to matching the quality of the food. The staff did eventually recognize that I was visibly unhappy and removed the drinks from our bill, which I appreciated. But by that point, the damage had been done. Manhatta has an incredible setting and a kitchen capable of producing truly memorable food. But for the prices and the level of experience the restaurant is clearly positioning itself to offer, the hospitality needs to be significantly better. Exceptional food can only carry an experience so far.

Is there à la carte menu besides course menu for dinner time?

The main dining area is a set multi-course menu (2 or 3 course lunch, 3 or 4 course dinner). You can also sit at the bar, which has an a la carte menu including many of the same items. In my experience they have great customer service here, and can…

Is there chiefs tasting menu enough food?

    I dint know

Can you see the sunset from this restaurant?

You are really facing north and east. The sun will set "over your left shoulder" as you look out the window. While you will see the golden hour light, you wont actually see the sun set. Caveat, I cannot recall if there are any west facing…

    When are you officially open?

How much money should I budget for the restaurant?

That's a good question, Fairriana. The budget depends on what you're trying to have. For weekend brunch, perhaps around $70; but for dinner $100 should suffice. That is outside tax and tips. I also recommend bringing your camera. The view from up…

Just out of curiosity, is there an age limit? I saw many different types of drinks on the menu, curious if you have to be 21+ to eat here.

No age limit to eat there. Dress nicely and bring plenty of $$$$$$.

How long does it usually take to finish their prix fixe dinner? thanks in advance

About 90 mins to two hours but they are SO accommodating so if you need to be in and out faster, just let them know!

    Is a reservation required?

No, a reservation is not required, but it's best to have one during popular times. Reservations can be made through the Manhatta webpage 30 days in advance. They also have two bars where they serve the same menu. Enjoy!

I'm traveling with my 5 year old daughter, would it be okay to take her with me here for lunch?

It will depend on your daughters taste buds and if she likes the food they have, they do not have a children's menu.

Do you need to reserve a spot at the bar, or can you just walk in? Especially asking for Saturday on valentine days weekend.

Yes, you can just walk in to snag a spot at the bar! It does tend to get busy during peak hours, but there are several tables as well as a separate lounge area with couch seating.

    Wouldn't find dress code anywhere?

There's no dress code, but it's a special occasion restaurant. I wore a sports coat without a tie. The women I was with dressed nicely. Don't be that person in a tracksuit.

Do i have to make a reservation to just eat here?

I believe they accept walk-ins but for a prime hour dinner, reservation is a must.

Where is the best window seat in the house?

There's no real "bad seat" as you can see the view from nearly everywhere and there are binoculars dispersed throughout the restaurant. You can ask for a table next to a window though.

The restaurant looks amazing. Considering booking a table for lunch, as a surprise for me and my boyfriend, but is there also a pre-fix lunch menu or is it just for dinner? Kind regres

For lunch I saw a menu For dinner - prefix Enjoy!

Can you go for drinks at the bar only or is a food reservation required?

Yes you can. I recently went and was told by the young woman working the coat check that you are free to go up simply for drinks but its best to get there around 2:00 pm in order to get a spot and order from the kitchen that opens up at 2:30 pm.

What is the proper attire for this restaurant?

Most people are dressed 'business casual' and up - but I saw people in jeans, so it varies

    Do They accepts walkings? Thanks

Yes, they do. Reservations are easily placed through the Resy app, though

Does the bar face the windows? I'm eating alone on a Monday 6 pm- think I could get a nice table then instead?

Hi Cathi, We do have some bar seats that are very close to the windows and all of them face the window.…

Reservations open 2 weeks in advance around 10am and they go super fest so I recommend you try for the day you need as for me I could only have gotten brunch on a Sunday. Those people spam the crap out of their buttons for the dinner spots and when I went I can see why. The place is brimming with old school New York charm and it's completely overwhelmingly beautiful and has an old jazzy vibe to it. It's large and spacious and they sat us in the middle of the entire restaurant. (I had a group of 6) The vibe was so good you don't really want to leave and they also don't really kick you out. I think we were the last ones to exit for brunch but they were so nice they didn't kick us out. Their espresso martinis are ok. It wasn't as amazing as a regular cocktail bar but it is just ok. We started off with a shrimp cocktail, smoked whitefish Caesar salad and the two plates of truffle monkey bread which was soooo good. I really enjoyed this as it's the main reason we came here. It's almost like a honey dinner roll with truffle. We got everything next which some people got their own and some shared. Some people got their own American breakfast platter which was some overdone eggs and a meat with gigantic toast and if you only order scrambled eggs it comes in a bowl but I would much rather order their classics like steak sandwich and the spicy shrimp was pretty good! Fries are top tier! I can see why people just come here for dinner. I would give it mostly 5 stars for the overall ambiance and environment and a few classics. I think their old fashioned is better than their espresso martinis though even though it looks so good in this type of setting! The gnocchi was nice - just the right amount of chew with a cheesy interior, and a nice sauce that was creamy, crunchy from bread crumbs and little bits of toasted garlic, and a nice herb oil over top. The tiramisu was next level - definitely more chocolate forward than coffee, but still did a nice job of bringing those two flavors together with the salted mascarpone. There's a layer of crunchy wafer bits halfway down that made the experience particularly unique. Total worked out to just under $57 after tax and tip. It's expensive, and getting in is such a hassle. I'd still come back at least for the dessert (and the pasta is decent too).

Every dish is great, not a single thing is bad. If you want a must have, well the Chrysanthemum salad is a requisite starter, i think the veal tartare is out of this world, and the lasagna should be a required dish. Now again nothing is bad, and if you can try the caramelles you should, and if you aren't getting the amberjack crudo because you're going to be too full then i don't know what you're doing. Whatever you do don't forget the stuffed cheesy bread, it's such a winner. Every cocktail is great, every morsel of food is fantastic, and the tiramisu isn't like any tiramisu you've ever had before. We will as always continue to come!

We reserved for a quick bite at Redeye Grill before catching Dog Day Afternoon on Broadway, but as soon as we walked up, some bouncer told us they were closed for a private wedding reception. We were dazed and confused because how was I able to reserve online? But the real plot twist was that it ended up being the best thing that happened. We actually stumbled into Tanner Smith's thinking it'd be the typical, boring bar-food spot. Nope. They first sat us at a hi-top by the door, but that wasn't our vibe, so we grabbed seats at the bar instead. Best decision. Our bartender, Josiah, was absolutely killing it. My cocktail had passion fruit, so of course I asked my usual question: "But is it real passion fruit?" He just nodded in agreement and that told me everything I needed to know. That drink was legit and had nice strength. The food was great too. My fish tacos were packed with fresh fish, the guacamole and salsa were chunky and full of flavor and hubs enjoyed his pastrami sandwich. I have no clue when we'll be back in Midtown, but one thing's for sure- we're sitting with Josiah again.

For those who like a little drink with their food, during brunch they offered a number of brunch cocktails (bottomless) for $35 Food of Choice: I had the Truffle Mac and Cheese and a side of the za'tar cauliflower. Both dishes were great and filling. The cauliflower had a lot of bold flavors! The onion ring on top of the Mac and cheese was a nice touch. I couldn't really taste the truffle but I would still order the dish again.

I've visited the original The Smith location several times over the years and have always enjoyed…read moremyself. This was my first time dining at the Lincoln Square location on 63rd Street, which opened in 2012, and it was outstanding. A friend was celebrating her promotion and invited a group of friends to join her. We were a table of 11 and were seated in the back dining room. Considering the size of our group, the service was remarkable--attentive, efficient, and never intrusive. I started with a gin martini, which was perfectly made. We ordered an assortment of appetizers to share, making it easy for everyone to sample several things from the menu. For my main course, I went with the ribeye, which was cooked to perfection. Dessert was the highlight of the meal for me. The "Death by Chocolate" was outstanding--a rich chocolate mousse, a caramelized layer of crispy sugar over it, and topped with a dollop of whipped cream. It was the perfect way to finish the evening. Walking into the restaurant, the first thing that caught my attention was the impressive 50-foot zinc bar. The spacious dining room, designed by the Rockwell Group, has an industrial-chic feel, with white subway-tiled walls, reclaimed wood, and large windows. There's also a classic black-and-white photo booth in the basement, which adds a fun touch. The menu is broad enough to appeal to almost everyone, ranging from a raw seafood bar and prime steaks to burgers, mac 'n cheese, and popular brunch dishes. I also appreciate the complimentary house-filtered still and sparkling water--a small detail, but a nice touch. The location is particularly convenient for Lincoln Center, with easy access from the 1 train at 66th Street-Lincoln Center and the A, B, C, and D trains at Columbus Circle. A Little History The Smith traces its roots to 2007, when Jeffrey Lefcourt and Michael Jacobs opened the original location in the East Village. The 63rd Street restaurant opened in November 2012 as the brand's third New York City location, designed to serve Upper West Side residents as well as the large number of people attending performances at Lincoln Center. After years of enjoying the East Village location, I'm glad I finally made it to the 63rd Street restaurant. With excellent service, a lively atmosphere, a broad menu, and a great location, it delivered a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I'll definitely be back.

The food was great! Everything I had tasted good and I didn't have any huge complaints about. I recommend the truffle parmesan fries, burrata with bread, and the shrimp scampi (which wasn't spicy as advertised but was very fresh and lemony)

Overall, I like the vegetables dishes a lot more here and I know what I like now, but not very interested in trying more things.
