Overall my experience was decent. First time visiting, passing through on my way home to pa. There were two people working the front, they were busy with phone calls. They both had stopped greeting us to answer the phones. When we finally ordered, I felt rushed. I had to ask for ketchup 3 times because she only gave me 5 packets when I ordered food for 5 people. Then when we were done I asked for a box for my pizza and she gave me a container instead of a box. I specifically asked for a pizza box and she said how many slices do you have left? I love New York style pizza for the thinness of the crust and they did not disappoint, it was perfect. Two family members applied for jobs here and were discriminated against as were other UHS students of a specific race. The owner speaks down to them and treats them poorly. She hires them, degrades them and then fires them. Then she wonders why her turnover is so high. She should take a class in professionalism. I am quickly becoming a big fan of the Balboa Cheesesteak. Sumi and her team are always welcoming and appreciative of us as customers. I love that they have flour bags in the store to show the Caputo organic flour they get from Italy. It is no wonder why their pizza crust is excellent. Decent place for cheese or pepperoni slices while you're driving through town. Speciality pizzas are sold by the pie, unfortunately- they look great! I ordered their lunch special which includes two slices and a drink for $6. Crust was thin, crisp & held its shape when you pick it up. I really want to like this place but have been disappointed once again. The food is very respectable but orders are wrong more often than not. I ordered online through their website, for a delivery going to a business as a surprise dinner treat. 2.5 hours later I get a call asking me when I was going to pick up my order..... then it took another 30 min to get the order finally delivered and it was 10 min before the still hungry staff went home. The ambiance is casual and usually lots of seating for large parties. This place is just too hit and miss for us. It's close to our house so we order once a month or so and 50% of the time the crust is perfect and it arrives hot and fast. 50% of the time the crust is limp and doughy and it arrives cold. We take a long break and then give them another try and it's the same 50/50 experience. If we want a steak sub, Manhattan Pizza is where we go. They are very generous with the steak on the sub and will make it exactly to your liking if you let them know you want double meat or no cheese or extra mayo or however you like it. We have never been disappointed. We do get their pizzas and are very happy that they have no issue with making a pizza without cheese. We've even had a phone call to verify that we want a pizza with no cheese at all or if we want cheese on only half of it. Best grilled chicken salad. The BEST. I'm real bougie about food, but I love this salad so much I'll order three just to have them in my fridge. The chicken is fresh grilled and they use the right lettuce so it doesn't get wilty--in fact all their produce is bomb--and MAN the flavor on the chicken! Beautifully seasoned, beautifully seared! We ordered "The Kids Party" catering package for my daughter's 3rd birthday party at the Natalli Family Y. The pizza was exactly on time (actually, about five minute early!), and everything was so, so good. We definitely over-ordered on food - for 10 kids and 10 adults, the four pizzas, 24 chicken tenders, and 24 cookies was way too much, but the value for the money was definitely great. The pizza and chicken tenders both were BIG hits, with people asking where I'd ordered from because it was so nicely done. Ive been ordering here over the past year and the food is ok. Just like any other restaurant, there are good days and just ok days. The deciding factor comes down to price and service. The price is ok, typically portions are generous enough for the cost. That leaves deciding on service and management. Service is typically on point, I typically walk over and pick food up and I set a timer for myself to give them time before showing up, and the food is almost always ready in the same timeframe. I have observed, however, what many other reviewers have stated, the owner and her rapport with her employees. People are people, but I've witnessed some very unprofessional behavior at this establishment. Enough that I have decided to stop ordering from this business. Business owners need their customers, but more importantly their employees to be happy and safe at work. Verbal abuse is just unacceptable, especially at the counter in front of customers. I was looking for a pizza place around Frederick, which is pretty limited to start with. Fell upon this store and I initially hesitated as I've never heard of Manhattan Pizza, but I thought I'd give it a try. Boy am I happy I tried. The mozzarella sticks, supreme pizza, and boneless wings were delicious! The mozzarella sticks kind of gave me homemade vibes, which I appreciated. VERY disappointed. Ordered thru THEIR website on 7/31 because THEY offer delivery. Put in our address (I don't know the exact distance) and after waiting 30 minutes or so they called. They called to say "sorry, our driver won't deliver because you are 9 miles instead of 8!" Or something like that. We were apparently a half mile or mile too far. Why did you accept our address? Why did you wait a half hour to call? Super unprofessional. If that was my business I would have jumped in the car and delivered it myself! AND the money still hasn't gone back to my account. Found out about this spot because of a friend's delicious looking pics of the Fantasticks popsicles. The pizza itself was delicious. We happened to have coupons for free small cheese pizzas, but since we had a bigger group we also took advantage of their $4.99 lunch special (2 HUGE slices & a drink). I thought this was an amazing deal. I am so excited to come back again for more pizza. We tried both the cheese and pepperoni. I preferred the cheese, but that was also the pizza that had been made fresh. For two of our single slices, they had been reheated and were fine. We then treated ourselves to fantasticks, which were good. I was slightly disappointed they only put out a select number of toppings compared to what they show you on the fantastick menu. I didn't love the combination I made, but that is my own fault for the design I chose, based on what was available. My son and mother loved theirs, but kept it more simple. My littlest guy happily finished my popsicle, so I guess I was the picky one! I am excited to go back for more cheese pizza, and to sample other fantasticks. read more

Ordered delivery and it was awful.... We were given someone else's order and when we called they said our food would be there in about 20 minutes. We assumed this meant they were going to make fresh food and send it out. Nope! They simply had the driver turn around so by the time the food came it was at least 40 minutes old and was completely ice cold. It was also so disgustingly soggy it was barely edible. I had also asked for my wings well done as I don't like them slimy and they obviously were not well done at all even if it had arrived on time.... I feel bad for the other people who also had to wait for their food since it was delivered to us.... At least their food would have had to be remade so luckily for them it would have been warm unlike ours.... read more

I have been to this location before and like it here. Today I came here to work on a project and get the 2 slices of pizza and a drink lunch special. The temperature was comfortable, the place was clean, and Sumi the manager greeted me as soon as I came in. She was very nice and the food was good too. It's a thin crust pizza and the sauce and toppings have a good flavor. A couple of the tables have an electrical outlet by them in case you need to charge a phone or work on a computer or study during a lunch break. I stopped by this place on my way home from work one day...was in the mood for pizza and had time to kill. Found quick curb parking spot near the front of the store and thought I'd take my time to do a nice review. Now, this was around 6pm on a weeknight and I was a little surprised that I was the only person in the restaurant. Three staffers at the counter all willing to help. So, I asked for a recommendation, they said they were known for their pizza, (despite an extensive menu of other sandwiches, salads and other items.) So, I asked what made their pizza special. Unfortunately, I really couldn't get a definitive answer out of them, other than "New York Style." Uh oh. I ordered the Manhattan Supreme, with Pepperoni, Sausage, Green Pepper, Mushrooms and Onions. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't special, which might account for the lack of product knowledge from staff. My perfectly round 10" pizza with the measured and evenly distributed toppings certainly seemed like a typical franchise's quality control and consistency move. Again, tasty enough...the crust had a subtle flavor to it beyond just dough. I appreciated that. So, if you're just looking for some pizza, it's fine, tastes good and is pretty convenient to a lot of folks in the Urbana area. But if you're looking for really GOOD pizza, there are other options particularly in Frederick, but this was A-OK, not something I'd make a special trip for. I would never dine in here again...it is so bright when you walk in like a hospital cafeteria and the place is overrun by teens who aren't very sure about what they are doing. There were so many people working and yet the floors were wet (it had been raining) and the place wasn't very clean. The front cashier area was crowded with at least five people behind the registers and it was a bit chaotic. To top it off, they got our order incorrect. We asked for a pear and Gorgonzola salad but instead of the gorgonzola we wanted feta but when it came out...Gorgonzola and when we said is there bleu cheese on this, they said "no, it's Gorgonzola..."ugh! The pepperoni pizza bites did not seem to be cooked all the way through which was disappointing and the wings were very pink inside which made them immediately unappetizing. If I were to ever order again, it would be only for pick up and then I would reheat everything to make sure it was cooked thoroughly!!! read more

Needed pizza to feed a crowd after Thanksgiving. Last year we went to nearby Mangia Bevi and paid quite a high price for bad, sparsely topped pizza. I thought I would try Manhattan pizza and was very glad I did. We purchased 3, 16" pizzas with toppings and one small, and I have never seen pizzas topped so well, they were totally covered and quite tasty. FYI, I am from NJ and nothing comes close to NJ/Ny pizza, but for Maryland, this was very good, fast, easy, best topping coverage ever, and is now my go to down here. Did I mention price? Paid way less per pizza than the other place and it was so much better! I thought there would be leftover, but it was all gone in minutes (9 people) read more
