Highly recommend their espresso martini, probably one of the best I've ever had! Two bars in one. One typically turns into music / dj space, while the other has games and a pool table. Bar service is typically quick and speedy, with lots of workers present.

Their staff stalked me. Found me on Instagram. And now is harassing me in my comments. Quality people.

EDIT: Now I'm getting cyber bullied by the staff on my Instagram. See pic. -- I had an absolutely horrible experience at Manifest. The music was extremely loud from the moment we walked in. We even joked with the bouncer that we probably wouldn't last long because of the volume. I went toward the booth area just trying to figure out where the DJ was so I could politely ask if it could be turned down a little. Instead, I was yelled at by the bartender, patronized in front of other guests, and told I needed to apologize, even though I was just trying to ask a simple question. Then the DJ proceeded to call me out and mock me in front of everyone for wanting the music quieter. I have never cried in a bar or club before, much less because of people I do not know who work there. It was humiliating and completely unnecessary. I was there with friends on vacation and ended up crying before we even finished our drinks. The only person who was kind was the bouncer, who helped calm things down. Staff should be trained to handle simple customer requests with basic professionalism and empathy. A guest asking about music volume should not be yelled at, mocked by the DJ, or embarrassed in front of the room. Clearer boundaries around the DJ booth and better communication from staff would also help prevent situations like this. Really disappointing experience. We left feeling upset, embarrassed, and completely unwelcome

We loved karaoke night on Thursday. Great vibes. Fun time. Excellent service too. I had the drink, Funshine. The MC, Keanu Reid, was great fun, too!

Manifest is a bit of a versatile space. For starters, it goes between a cafe, bar, and nightclub depending on the day and time. They do have some events throughout the week, including Pub Trivia and Karaoke on Thursday evenings, and live music and dj sessions during the weekend. I personally come here every Thursday for the Sporcle Pub Trivia at 6:30 PM because the vibes are just that good! Drinks are fantastic! Tyson the bartender does a fantastic job every time I come by. I highly recommend the espresso martinis as they use local coffee and you can't beat a $12 espresso martini. They also have a great variety of spirits and beers. As for food, their kitchen is closed at this time but they do allow outside food; Pizza Mamo and The Daley are both within a minute's walk from here, for example. Parking is typical for Chinatown; your options are street parking or municipal parking. They also have art pieces up from local artists that are on sale. It's a great stop along a pub crawl on Hotel St. Overall, it's one of the places I visit most can't recommend enough if you're looking for a casual, no-frills vibe!

Incredible vibe, incredible employees. Truly feels like i'm in Cheers when i come here. Specifically, Julia and Tanner are incredible, thoughtful bartenders... plus their espresso martini in so good during happy hour

This place is all about good vibes! And I love it! [Location] Manifest is in Chinatown so parking can be tricky and you have to be aware of your surroundings. Manifest is worth the trip downtown. This place is a chill cafe in the AM, and a trendy bar in the PM. I visited on a Friday night. There was a friendly security guard at the door who checked bags and IDs. Made me feel safe. Not sure if they have a restroom on-site, but I think they do. [Ambiance] The best kind of energy. The type that reminds your you're young and have so much to live for! Live music. Eccentric art on the walls. Christmas lights and beyond-cool bartenders. The staff is amazing. They make you feel welcomed and care for, but in a comfortable kind of way. Lots of places to sit but also room for people to stand&mingle or even dance. Be warned: This place can get loud, which can be fun. But may not be to everyone's tastes. [Drinks] I ordered an espresso martini and it was smooth and dangerous. I couldn't tell there was any alc in the drink! It was delicious and classy. Made me feel like a true adult. Definitely recommend it. They have all sorts of other crafted drinks for super reasonable prices! My drink only cost $12. I'm more wanting than ever to grab a coffee from here in the morning. Overall, Manifest is one of the many gems of Downtown Honolulu. Will be back, and highly recommend!

Came here before a flight around lunch time to grab a quick bite and a drink and I was immediately sad I didn't come here more during my trip. They have DJs in the evenings, not sure what that scene was like but I imagine it would be a vibe to check out especially cuz the drinks are so good. Hina was our bartender and her drinks were on point :) will def be back when we visit again. Cocktails: 5/5 Food: 4/5

I went there for a drink on the first Friday this time, and started really digging this place. There was a live jazzy rap band playing and I noticed artworks on the wall that I didn't realize last time. That's definitely my vibes. I didn't get to eat the food again but oh well next time. The bartender was excellent and he made a nice drink for me just like last time. I appreciate the consistency of the service and quality. Ya dig?

Breathe...then Manifest an escape from adulting. Tucked in downtown on S Hotel Street is The Manifest and stumbling along this place had piqued my curiosity as I've heard about this place which instantly manifested signs of interest. Walking in the industrial lofty vibe is quite stunning as the brick walls with bare floors to string lights and red lanterns as the Lunar New Year is approaching it give such a spacious chill vibe and as you make your way to the back the which I almost thought was an outdoor area is actually a plastic corrugated like material so the sun beams through creating a stunning natural light that just shines bright for yet another unique decor all under one roof. Everyone has chosen their own place and since I was just passing though for a break as downtown doesn't really have a place for that I was so pleasantly surprised how relaxing it was as soon as I entered and actually had to use the bathroom which was in the back was no issue. Grateful to wash up and relax I sat at the bar to see what they have to offer. Impressive drink menu with categories from House Cocktails, Featured Classics, Beer, Wine and yes Coffee. Many I've heard do come here for coffee as they use local Waialua beans as I scanned this section I noticed "Espresso Martini" (Vodka, Cynar, Espresso and Demerara) I just had to have and wow it was very delightfully light "tasting" this darling little drink packs a punch and got me "happy" pretty fast but what a stunning presentation! I needed something to pair with my drink and as I scanned a pretty decent sized menu filled with many bar type of snacks from Chips and Hurricane Popcorn to Wedge Salad, Housemade Meatballs to Bahn Mi which I decided to have Vegan Pesto Aioli Bahn Mi to be exact. A vegan veggie ball is topped with house made cucumber, red onion and Serrano pickles with vegan Mac nut pesto sprinkled with the load of cilantro all stuffed in a baguette. Short of stuffing it with too much cilantro for my personal preference this sammy was just a light and refreshing bite that perfectly compliments my drink. The vibe here is just so perfect for all weather you're working or escaping, reconnecting or just taking a break, Manifest is a bar, cafe and nightclub follow them on Instagram @themanifest for their manifest as they regularly host various events. Thank you!

This was such a breath of fresh air from the touristy Waikiki crowd. Whenever I come to the islands, I always want to find a new spot that mostly locals enjoy. We were recommended this bar by some guys we met at the beach who had been living there for a few years, and we honestly loved it. We're from the Bay Area in CA, so when we heard the music we usually do and saw the younger crowd, we were in there like swimwear. Wish I could've gone another night, but overall the bartenders are quick, the DJ (at least the night I went) kept the crowd goin, and the vibe of the whole spot was really laid back, but pretty!

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

We perused the menu, and our 1st round consisted of: Ringo Star Strawberry Fields Forever Pho Us By Us Hail Mary Any guesses on the drink I chose? It's related to the Beatles. Records spun through carefully tuned sound systems while patrons sat immersed in the music. The music wasn't background noise. It was the main event. Walking into EP Bar, you can feel traces of that tradition. The room is intimate and inviting. Reservations are highly recommended because the place fills up quickly on weekend nights. Once inside, the atmosphere hits a sweet spot. The music is loud enough to create a mood and provide privacy for conversation, yet never so overpowering that it dominates the room. Loud enough to muffle the secrets being shared between old friends. Loud enough to drown out the office gossip that somehow followed everyone from the coffee machine into happy hour. The soundtrack isn't just playing--it's setting the tone. As an Old Fashioned guy, my choice was easy. I ordered a Oaxaca OF, which swaps traditional whiskey for mezcal. Smoky, balanced, and memorable, it felt like the kind of drink that rewards slow sipping between tracks. Another member of our group went with the Pho Us By Us. To nobody's surprise except perhaps her own, it tasted a little salty. Considering the ingredients--Green Chile Vodka, Sake, Pho Spice, Lemon, and Soda--it was probably the most honest cocktail description I've ever seen. The drink tasted exactly like its name suggested. That's part of the fun here. The menu doesn't hide behind clever marketing. Drinks like Thai Me Down and Candy Rain practically dare you to order them. Not every note landed perfectly. Service was a little off-beat during our visit. But like any live performance, sometimes the rhythm isn't flawless. Thankfully, the vibes, decor, music, and overall experience more than carried the set. What I appreciated most was that EP Bar doesn't feel like a gimmick. It feels like a genuine continuation of a tradition that began decades ago in Japan's listening cafés, traveled across oceans, and found a home in Honolulu's Chinatown. It's a place where music matters, conversation flows, and the pace of the evening slows down just enough to appreciate both. The place slaps for what it is--and for what it isn't. In a world increasingly filled with distractions, EP Bar invites you to do something refreshingly simple: sit down, have a great drink, listen to great music, and be present. I'll definitely be back. After all, every good record deserves another spin, and I'm curious to see how the needle lands next time.
