Came in for dinner with my family because my dad was missing Belgium. Loved the fountain/sculpture of the mannequin pis outside! The interiors seem authentic to a restaurant in Belgium, though none of the employees spoke Dutch lol. I've been here multiple times and have had the mussels, salmon and steak. Truthfully, I was unimpressed with my food. It tasted like any ordinary American spot that would have these options. Nothing really stood out to me about these items. The only item that impressed me was their chocolate mousse in the dessert section - rich & not too sweet. I like that they have occasional menu specials based on holidays and celebrations. I will mention that their service staff are very thoughtful. I made a reservation indicating that we were celebrating a birthday, and for dessert we ordered ice cream and (without us even asking) the staff came out and sang happy birthday to my dad. They added a mannequin pis candle which was such a fun addition!

I drove pretty far to try this place and was not impressed. It was good but was not as good as I had hoped. I did love the decor. The service was great

Lobster bisque

My rating = 77 (food 60/75, ambiance 6/10, service 11/15). Mussels/frites, seafood dishes, and a good menu of Belgian beers. Way out in Olney, but worth the trip, especially now that Brasserie Beck is gone :(. We had: 1. Lobster bisque 2. Sea bass over stoemp (Flemish mashed potatoes), endives, and shallot lemon sauce 3. Mussels provencale (celery, onion, herbs, tomatoes, peppers, garlic, white wine) 4. Mussels "Snob" (celery, onion, herbs, lobster bisque, garlic, brandy) 5. Mussels "Jamaican" (celery, onion, herbs, coconut cream, curry, beer) 6. Frites 7. Gulden draak beer 8. Bread pudding 9. Chocolate mousse 10. Cassis lambic beer All were good.

My parents introduced me to their favorite spot in Olney. Great service and tasty food. Forgot to take a picture of the mussels but we ordered Lavender mussels with white wine and it was delicious!! The bread was a little cold/hard but everything else was great

So for the last 3 years we've been meaning to try this place. They have good reviews and it's local. I think I wasn't thrilled about the menu options. I don't really eat mussels or sausages, etc. BUT they have a lot more to offer on the menu. Sea bass, salmon, etc. We went for lunch and it was quaint and clean. I had a delicious salad- the mannequin pis salad and the lobster bisque. Very fresh and very good. I loved how the salad was assembled just right so that every bite was perfect. And they are known for their lobster bisque. My husband loves Delerium beer and they have plenty of that. Oh the fries! The garlic frites are a must. They also have a selection of sandwiches for lunch. We will be back!

Came here on Mother's Day and was not disappointed!! Everything we ordered was delicious! My mom got the soft shell crab which was a Mother's Day special but she said it was so amazing she would order it again if it became a regular menu item! I had the Snob mussel pot and omg it was so good!!! Not to mention the garlic pomme frites I had with it which were perfectly crispy and seasoned to perfection! My dad got the salmon and my brother got the pork loins and they were both good as well. The mushroom ragout was amazing and the escargot was pretty good as well! Will definitely be coming back to try another mussel pot!

We were really looking forward to Mannequin Pis, and while it wasn't perfect it was enjoyable. The unique atmosphere of a true Belgian pub in the area is certainly worth a visit. Here's the details. Let's start with the beer menu. We love Belgian beers and if you do you will not be disappointed with the options. Really nice selection of Ales, Trappists, Lambics, etc. it's one of the few locations in the area you can dive into that type of beer selection, and it's a solid 5. On the food, the menu paired nicely with the beer selection. The steak-frites are solid, with a well seasoned cut of meat. The frites were unfortunately overly oily in flavor, and I'd say the oil was in need of a refresh. The Flemish Bier Stew was also solid. Tender cuts of meat, maybe just a bit under seasoned. And unfortunately again the old oil flavor of the frites overpowered the nice stew. We also had the Hawaiian mussels, delicious and a sauce you just want to sop up with bread and consume with a beer all night. Unfortunately even heavily seasoned garlic fries couldn't shake the flavor of the oil. I'm sure we'll go back again and see if it was just an off night with the fries. I'd certainly bump up the score if that's the case!

The sandwich had fresh roasted turkey, cranberry-pecan relish, mashed potatoes, cornbread & apple stuffing, herb mayonnaise on French loaf with a gravy dunker on the side. We all ordered onion rings at additional cost for our side and those were very good. Though this place has a following, I wouldn't say I'm dying to return. Its decent, but nothing over-the top to exclaim over.

The hostess seemed to avoid eye contact for about five minutes even though we were standing right in front of her. It felt a little like we had shown up too early for a surprise party that was clearly not for us. Once we were seated, everything improved. Our waitress, Paige, was attentive, thoughtful, and made the experience feel genuinely warm. We started with the mussels, which were exceptional; meaty, creamy, and delicious, with bread good enough to make restraint feel optional. We also had the mini Paloma oyster shooters, which were fun and memorable. I ordered a seasonal cocktail with very little simple syrup, since I usually do not like sweet drinks, and they got it exactly right, which is rarer than it should be. For the main course, we had the seasonal surf and turf special, an 8 oz filet mignon with crab meat over asparagus and succotash. The crust on the steak was excellent, the vegetables were perfectly seasoned, and the filet was cooked exactly as ordered. We finished with their newer take on key lime pie, which was very good and nicely balanced; not too sweet, not too tart. We spent just under $100 per person, so this is not an inexpensive night out. That said, the food quality and service largely justify the price. Overall, aside from the awkward start at the hostess stand, this was an excellent first visit. We spent just under $100 per person, so GrillMarX is not playing in the bargain bin, but the food and service were strong enough that we would absolutely come back

It was a good choice for us in this case because we were staying at the Even Hotel in Rockville. This restaurant was in the extensive commercial plaza adjacent to the hotel. Hence, it was a 2- or 3-minute walk out of the hotel entrance. While not readily obvious from Rockville Pike, it was easy for us to find. This place has French styling with respect to their menu offerings. They identify more specifically as French Fusion. The restaurant interior presented similar to that of a nicer American Bar/Restaurant (something like the Cheesecake Factory, for example, but not as massive). While the seating capacity was plentiful, it was fairly quiet on the Monday evening when we visited. Hence, there was no problem getting seated. Our server, Oliver, tended to us right away and did a good job taking care of us the entire time we were there. We had no complaints at all about the quality of the service and the timeliness of the food delivery. The menu featured several interesting options. My wife chose the Tartine Caprese Pesto dish. This included Mozzarella and Sliced Tomato on Toast covered with Pesto with a salad on the side. She was quite happy with this selection. I tried the Parisian Mushroom and Brie Omelet which also came with a Salad and a Waffle on the side as the bread. It was very tasty and quite filling. I should also mention that the complimentary French Bread with which we started was a nice touch. My wife had the Inconditionnel, which was a concoction with rum mixed with chocolate and hazelnut liqueurs and Orange Juice. I had a taste and thought it was pretty good. I tried the Sangria Rojo and was happy with that. The value was relatively reasonable for the type of place it was. With food, drink, tax and tip, our bill came to about $68. At $34 each, this seemed commensurate with the experience. If you fancy this sort of food, this is a good choice for a nice dinner in Rockville, a place full of restaurant choices. I wavered between a 3- and 4-star rating, but ended up with a four-star rating as they did quite a few things right.
