Came in at the tail end of the lunch rush and they still had a pretty full house. Even so, the wait was short and the staff was friendly. Tip for future visits: get on the waitlist thru the Yelp app! The inside is on the small side, but it's nicely laid out so you don't feel cramped or crowded. There appeared to be more space beyond a curtain, but that area was not open (perhaps it's for private parties?) They have a pretty decent lunch special menu, but I chose to order from the main menu. We started with the roti appetizer that comes with a yellow curry dipping sauce. The roti was hot, flakey, and very buttery and the dipping sauce was the perfect pairing for it. Highly recommend! For my entree I went with the massaman curry, which is a yellow curry that features chicken thigh, potatoes, carrots, and onions. The ratio of protein to veg leaned more heavily to the veg, which was cut VERY chunky. The flavor was nice, but even tho I ordered it with medium heat, heat was not detectable. After the meal, we were pleasantly full and our Thai food fix had been filled. Good service and good food, so I'll be back to Manon to try more of their menu offerings. read more

For drinks, we tried the brown sugar boba and the Thai tea flight. The flight was a popular choice and included a variety of Bangkok-style Thai teas, which made it fun to sample different flavors. For our meal, we ordered the crispy pork with chili and sea salt, grilled squid, papaya salad, tom kha soup, pad thai, and pineapple fried rice. Our standout favorites were the grilled squid and the tom kha soup. Had a bad experience at Manon for date night with my girlfriend. Interior design is nice and cozy, lights are warm and the vibe is right. The seating is nice and the employees are friendly and welcoming. However, I cannot say the food matches up with what you're presented with when you walk in. We had the drunken noodle and the tom yum fried rice, and we did not like either. Both dishes were lacking flavor and felt a little tedious to eat. We also ordered a tea drink that did not come out until I asked about it almost 30 minutes after our food came out. Overall, I would not recommend Manon as a date night spot, but maybe I just had a bad experience. Other people around me seemed to enjoy their food. 4/10. read more

An amazing Thai restaurant that opened in Fullerton. I believe they are still doing their soft opening but they have incredible food and fast service. The interior is clean and very welcoming. I went with a group of 7 and they were quick with getting the food out and ready. We got the pad thai, pad se ew, khao soi, green curry, and pineapple fried rice and pork jowl. Everything was so so good and we all devoured everything. Overall, an amazing addition to the Fullerton restaurant scene. They're still in their soft opening so maybe they're still testing out their flavors. I'll start with the positives: -Taste, the drink flight was interesting. Thai tea is the most common drink, while the other 3 were interesting. The pork jowl was very tasty too. -ambiance, was very modern and clean -service, quick and responsive Negatives: -taste, we got pad Thai. It was a little bland and didn't have the typical orange color. After we added the fish sauce chili it tasted much better. We also got the hot Thai basil fried rice. It was a little oily and barely spicy even though we asked for it to be spicy. The rice actually ended up tasting better the next day when we air fried the rice back. I'm not sure if they used day old rice, but if they did then they definitely used too much oil. We're not able to take Thai spice too well so we ordered everything with very mild spice. I believe this made our food less delicious and I felt that every dish, minus the steak, lacked an additional oomph, which I think the spice would have added. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted good enough - I just wish I had a higher spice tolerance so that I'd be able to enjoy it more. The overall food here was not as great as I thought it would be. The plating was great, atmosphere was very cozy and aesthetic but some of the dishes were hit or miss. For example, the roti was crispy and delicious paired with the curry. The chicken wings were also just the right amount of crispy and tenderness but the sweet and sour sauce didn't seem to go well with it. I actually thought the green dipping sauce for the shrimp vermicilli went more with the chicken wings. The pad kee mao skewed towards more sweet and salty than flavorful. I like the one at manaoo better. The morning glory was also super salty. The massaman curry also was too sweet for my liking. The portion of the curry also seemed small for the price compared to a lot of other Thai restaurants. I liked the shrimp vermicelli dish and it had a familiar taste (similar to a Chinese dish I've had before). And I've never had a bland pad thai before. There was a decent amount of chicken though, so it was nice that they didn't skimp on the meat, and the portion size was good. But flavor-wise??? It was sorely lacking. Panang curry with beef (I don't remember what exactly it was listed on the menu, but it was separate from the regular panang curry because beef isn't an available protein option): My husband got medium spice level, and it wasn't spicy at all. I can't handle spice and I wouldn't have even deemed it mild, lol. And while most places overdo it on the coconut, this curry definitely needed more of it. Not the worst panang curry we've had, but definitely room for improvement. We were looking forward to trying their desserts, but unfortunately, almost all their desserts were sold out by the evening, haha. This place is a little far for us, but we wanted to try it after seeing all the glowing reviews on Yelp and Instagram, but it was pretty disappointing. Drunken Noodles are one of my go tos and I've never had the green peppercorn flavor dominate it the way it did from Manon. In the cashew nut chicken, the chicken was heavily breaded and fried. Never had it prepared that way before. It was so heavily breaded, the sauce could not evenly spread out. I am a huge Thai food fan, and this place might just be one of the best places I've had thus far outside of Asia.
