Amazing food truck. It's more of an atmosphere. The owner was just so gracious and helpful with our selection of malasadas. We had some choices that we selected but went with 6 of ours and 6 of her favorites and oh wow did they impress. Great conversation and hands down one of the best experiences. Yes they are just small treats but it makes a difference when you get a level of service that is out of this world. Mahalo nui loa. The best.

Delicious! We happened to stop right before close and were promptly helped. We ordered 6 with sugar, and 3 with filling (raspberry, passion fruit, coconut). When in Hawaii you need to have at least one good Malasada - and Manuela Malasada's are just that.

Hawaiian donuts were delicious. October 21, 2025 was our first time experiencing. When we stepped up to the food truck, Sabrina greeted us and helped us put together a selection of six donuts. They are made to order, so fresh and hot. They were so good, a few days later we made a second trip back for more. Thanks Sabrina for making our stay in Maui just a little bit more memorable! First off, I'd like to say that I absolutely love malasadas. If you sell them, I buy them. However, this place takes the cake! The best malasadas I've ever had! Do not miss this place! A must do on Maui! And Sabrina is so sweet and beautiful. Love supporting small sweet businesses. So ono!

The malasadas are absolutely wonderful. The service was friendly, fast and they brought the order out to our table. The food truck park is clean and has plenty of outdoor covered seating.

Being able to choose the fillings and coatings means you get to completely tailor your malasadas! Nutella is a great filling, as is PB&J. They're made to order, so super fresh. There are a few tables outside as well as a food truck park next door. Well worth a visit!

Been to this place in the Big Island and glad to see it here in Maui. IMO this one is better than the one I had before. We got 3 malasada for $16 and didn't regret it. They were flavorful and super fresh. Crispy, warm and just delightful. A must get in Hawaii.

The highlight of this dessert truck is definitely their malasadas.They're made fresh and have a variety of flavors to choose from. Unfortunately, I found the staff to not be very informative about the menu options. It would have been nice to receive friendly and helpful service, especially when trying to decide which malasada flavor to choose. Despite the staff's demeanor, the desserts themselves are worth a try. Just be prepared to navigate the menu on your own or ask for recommendations from fellow customers.

Nothing I love more than donuts on a Saturday, but these malasadas are so good they should be eaten every day. So fresh and warm. I love the raspberry and and Huapia filled (not pictured). The huapia is so subtle and perfectly sweet. You may be tempted to bring these to another spot to eat, since the food truck roundup by Costco (or gas station where it previously was located) aren't the best ambience, but eating them fresh is a must!

Just looking at my picture makes me want to fly back to Hawaii so I can go buy more of these deliciousness! Seriously some of the best dessert I've had. The fillings are just the cherry on top! My favorite has to be guava because I love guava and it does not disappoint. I liked all the flavors we ordered. So many flavors, decent price, so fresh! If you have a sweet tooth, I recommend!

I kept seeing this Hot Malasada spot pot up in my feeds while in Maui. I decided to check them out and see if they live up to the hype. 1. The address to the food truck is like top secret. I had to google it to get the address. 2. It actually sits at the corner of Haleakala Hwy & Dairy Rd alongside a plethora of assorted food trucks. Right across from Costco. 3. I walk up to order. Guy is not friendly at all. Just direct. 4. I order the 6 Malasada's for $15 as the sign depicts. It says to add fillings. I proceed to get chocolate, 2 Haupia, Lilikoi, Mango & strawberry. 5. He says hold on let me start your order. Price comes out to $29. I state that the sign says $15. He replies, that's only for plain. No where on the sign does it say anything about the price for filling. 6. I felt like because he had already started my order, I was stuck with the price of $29. So I paid for them. 7. 10 minutes later, the Malasada's were ready. Smelled delicious. Got them home and hubby enjoyed the Mango with his dinner. I had 1/2 the haupia. Note: the reason for the 3 stars is because you'd think at these prices the fillings would be homemade. If you look in the window, you'll see all the regular store brought supplies. Nutella, strawberry jelly, and other jars that made me second think my purchase. I didn't see these until I was picking up the order. To each their own. I'll stick with Leonard's.

Finished lunch and was getting ready to leave but then saw the malasada truck and just had to get some! Didn't get the filled one, but chose the ling-hi and cinnamon sugar. They just hit my sweet tooth spot! Definitely would come back, maybe even try a filled one!

This is the best donut in Maui!! During our stay, we visit here 2 times and every time got 6 donuts for one! Barbarian cream and coconut are so good! And Clentz sevice was so so good!!! Plenty of filling and we are so satisfied. And will be back! read more

Don't miss these donuts! I wasn't sure if it was a ho hum tourist spot until I saw some locals loading up. There's a million flavor combos but I played it safe with the classics. I got six donuts to share with my family but ate three on the ride home. The guy working was super cool even while handling four other orders and patiently helped me with my first malasada experience. I'll be back tomorrow! read more

The malasadas were fantastic! I prefer the coconut flavor. I tried the Ube cheesecake and would Definitely recommend it. The Boston cream tasted more like banana but they were still good. The nice lady working in the stand was very kind and helpful and even recommended fun things for the kids to do while in the area. My only problems with the stand were the high cost and that they didn't take credit card. Otherwise they were great! read more

The minimum is three for $9, to add filling it's $2 each. We got the peanut butter, (taste like jiffy peanut), cinnamon crunch, and their most recommended flavor Bavarian cream. Seriously, would not recommend coming here. The entire malasada is just dough. Was so disappointed as the filling which we paid for is just on top and it's not spread evenly. read more

This is no longer open or located here April 2023 on a Saturday morning, 830 am and again Sunday at 1030 am. The 76 gas station it was reported to be in the same parking lot as is closed too. No signs for it anymore. We happened to stumble upon it, in the Costco parking lot by the airport Saturday afternoon. Maybe it travels around or has otherwise changed locations. read more

Amazing service! Sooo good, hot and fresh. You can custom mKe your own jelly filled donuts. My friend got the flavors, i orefer classic sugar fresh plain donuts. The staff is so friendly, with high quality product. I loved them on the west side and now they are closer to my area! So thrilled to have more access to them! read more

Worth the wait! Opened at 10am and was sold out by 11am. Get them fresh and hot. This is a small stand outside the phillips 76 gas station. There is a small bench but prepare to wait in line to order and about 15 minutes to prepare. Donuts made hot and fresh. We ordered a half dozen in a variety of flavors. read more

If Yelp did half stars, I would give this place more of a 3.5 stars. I visited just after they opened on a weekday morning and there was only 1 other person waiting for their order. They are made to order, so after I ordered it took about 15 mins before they were ready as there is only one gal working in the stand. Just something to think about if you're in a hurry and if the line is longer.. we came here for a quick 'breakfast' to hold us over on our way to a tour we booked, so luckily we had given ourselves some extra time. I went with a half a dozen and filled 4 of them, bringing my total to $20. At first I felt that was a little pricey, but when you think about it, that comes out to just around $3 each, and if you visit a cafe or bakery most pastries run $2-4 individually. We definitely could've done with about 3 as they were actually much larger than I anticipated... the photos I saw online almost made them look mini/bite sized, but they are about the size of a standard boston cream donut if I had to compare sizing. I enjoyed the filled ones more than the non filled, and they definitely taste best fresh right after they've cooled down a little. I will echo what a couple others have said is that they were pretty dense and I expected them to be a little lighter.. I also found the dough by itself to taste a little bland with an old flying oil taste.. so that's my main reason for only wanting to give it 3.5 stars. read more

I drove by around 11:30am and there was no one at the cart so I decided to stop and try them. They're made to order, I waited 10-15 minutes which isn't bad at all for 6 hot malasadas, all different flavors. I did mango cheesecake (special flavor), ube, lilikoi, raspberry, coconut, and li hing sugared. They were pretty dense and the fillings weren't that great. The mango cheesecake and ube were pretty good but the others weren't. The coconut was very runny. They're best still warm too. Once cooled down they aren't that grey either. I give them major props for doing them fresh made to order though. read more

Amazing Malaysia's made fresh to order from an unassuming food shack in a gas station parking lot. Offers the ability to custom order sugar toppings and filling types. Don't sleep on a guava filled malasada covered in li hing sugar, it's amazing! These malasadas are best eaten fresh while they are still warm, but they'll do more than fine the next morning as well. read more

We had been driving past this cute little donut food truck in the past 4 days and the last days they were either closed or sold out, luckily today we were lucky and got to try some. We got an order of three and you will wait like 8 mins or so as they are made as you order them so they are nice and hot. We got one of today's special cheesecake plus two regular ones filled with mango and guava. This Hawaiian donuts are delicious and I can see why they are so popular and were featured on HGTV. read more

Just had these delicious treats! Almost left the lot but saw the truck and decided to turn around and try them. So glad we did. They tasted as good as they looked! We had them filled with Nutella, Lilikoi, strawberry, PB&J, and Raspberry. Service was awesome! Will most likely be trying more flavors soon before we head back home read more

A must stop if you are driving around the west side of Kona! Malasadas are like big beignets. It's cash only and I only had $10 on me so I didn't get the kind with the filling but they were still amazing. Made to order so they are hot and crispy. We liked the plum flavored sugar the best. read more

A little Donut truck on the corner of the 76 Gas Station lot, we were looking forward to trying the Donuts and they were fantastic! A little messy to eat so have napkins by your side. These are made fresh to order. They come in orders of 3,6 etc. 3 was plenty for my wife and I. You can mix and match the type of sugar and the filling choices. If you like donuts then it's a must visit. read more

Delicious! Hot, fresh donuts that you can get plain or filled with your favorite filling. We got the plain with sugar, and they were served fresh out of the fryer so we devoured them while they were hot! Reminded me of beignets with regular sugar instead of powdered. read more

Omg! Be careful because these babies can send you into a coma! They are dangerously good!! We had no idea how big they were so we ordered 12 lol we didn't realize that you pay per filling of each donut. We order powdered sugar plain, powdered sugar with Nutella, and cinnamon with une flavor. They came out pipping hot and delicious!! My advice is order 6 max maybe get two filled and you can use those filling for the rest because they are packed!! This place was amazing though. read more

Oh my GOD these things were good! Couldn't just choose a few combinations so we had to get a dozen. They're huge! Outside is crisp, inside is soft and they stay hot for a while! Some of the fillings were a bit thicker than we had anticipated but I almost liked it better! Banana crème pie was probably my least favorite of all the fillings, but I can't possibly choose a favorite. Guava, lilikoi, cookie butter, all were perfection. If you're in the area, this is a must! Go earlier rather than later. They are also short staffed, so be patient since the person who takes your order is also the person who makes it. Delicious! read more

This is my first yelp review -- I haven't been so upset about an experience until today and I have lurked on Yelp for at least a decade. Came here for 6 malasadas before our flight. Was patient and waited an hour+ and checked in until we realized the guy who was making our order completely lost our order. Thankfully got refunded but not an experience I want to experience again. Now I am rushing to the airport hoping I have left enough buffer time for the airport -- empty handed without any malasadas. read more

Yeah this is the best donut I've ever had! Adding filling costs a dollar extra but its worth it. My favorite fillings are the Bavarian cream, Guava, and Nutella. These donuts are denser than most so if you don't like it try Krispy Kream, where donuts have no substance. read more

Saw this truck and had to get some Malasadas. They were having some issues with the fryer so I waited a few minutes and then she took my order and said it would be 15 minutes - sadly it took a total of an hour maybe more and all I purchased was 3 Malasadas. There was a guy who had ordered after me and there were 2 others in front of me but that guy got his order before all of us?? It was ok but definitely not anything near Leonard's - the dough is way more thicker read more

Manuela's Malasadas were my first Malasada experience, so I can't compare to the other Malasada places, but I will say that they were dang GOOD compared to doughnuts. We got them Plain Sugar Coated w/ no filling, haupia filling & lillikoi filling I'd just warn that the Haupia is more of a liquidy filling? Kind of like coconut oil, I had expected it to be more of a cream like the haupia pie at McDonald's. But it was just like an extra moist donut with a coconut end. Also, since Yelp doesn't have their work hours updated, we weren't sure when they opened. The lady said they open at 8:30AM....but that's more of an estimate... When we showed up, we had to wait 30 minutes because they were on break...I think they were making more donuts elsewhere because nobody was inside the stand. We left to get coffee and came back... but it was worth coming back, 'cuz the Malasadas were HOT n FRESH. Btw, if you want good coffee nearby to pair with your malasadas, try Drift Coffee a couple blocks away. read more

Krispy Kreme blows away these other donut shop only because their frosting on their donuts can last up to 2 days if it's in a hotel setting . For example whenever I travel to Las Vegas I can eat Krispy Kreme for breakfast 2 days in a row and the donut is still crispy glazed frosting . Of course when you buy the fundraiser in Honolulu it's all melted already because it comes from Maui plus it's hot and humid so all the glazed is melted. Service is fast and friendly you tell the counter person what donuts you want they start packing your box .

These little gems of deliciousness are so good it's our first stop after leaving the airport. We have been to the location on the big island many times, love the family that works so hard to prepare the orders and are so friendly and remember the regulars. This was our first time at this location in Maui and as always our first stop from the airport, Sabrina works this location friendly and ready to serve you. There are a variety of malasada on their menu but we always go for the original with sugar sprinkles on. When they come out and handed to you they are hot and soft and really you can't eat just one. I have tried some of the filled Malasadas with the traditional Hawaiian filling and Nutella filling, both are just as good but you just can't beat the traditional. So when you want to try something new like em' up and head to the nearest location, you will not be disappointed. Bravissima Manuela's! Ciao

Exactly what I expect out of a malasada. I had the li hing with the lilikoi filling. My child had cinnamon and sugar with Nutella and then we had one plain coated in sugar. The filling was delicious, but I also enjoyed the plain one coated and sugar because it was hot and squishy and fabulous. Wish I had some hot coffee to enjoy with it. We sat in our car right there and power ate them. The only downside was having to drive to a gas station afterward (with an awning) to get out and brush myself off from all the sugar. The reviews are correct. This place is banging. Would I happily wait an hour? Hard no. Hahaha but if you're going to do that, go down the block to Thai Me Up first, and get some cashew chicken and eat that while you wait. A very delicious food truck excursion was had.

If you're going to use third-party delivery services, make sure the information customers see is accurate and reflects your business practices. What made the experience even worse was the interaction with one of the employees. When we called for clarification, the woman who answered was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. She offered no explanation, made no attempt to help, and simply hung up on us. Mistakes happen, but treating customers with respect should be the bare minimum. Instead of taking ownership of the confusion, we were met with poor communication and a complete lack of professionalism. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this business until they improve both their customer service and the accuracy of the information they provide on their delivery platforms.

I wanted some malasadas and I was told they didn't have any. Shocked. I thought malasadas was like staple food in Hawaii. For those that do not know, malasadas are fried Portuguese donuts and they are yummy. Anyway, I settled for Jin dui and ensymadas. Ensaymada is a type of Filipino soft, sweet dough pastry covered with butter and sugar then topped with lots of grated cheese. Delicious sweet buttery bread. Hubby liked the Jin dui. They are Chinese style fried mochi filled with sweet bean and rolled in sesame seeds. Still not happy that they didn't have malasadas. Have to look elsewhere now to satisfy my sweet tooth. And then fillings were complementary to the mochi skin - not too sweet, just right (so you know, when I drink milk tea, I usually go for 25% or if any milk tea with syrup, then 0%). Peanut butter milk chocolate had a very nice texture with the chunky peanut chunks. It was deliciously chewy, crunchy and savory! And the traditional red bean paste, it was yummy. Only regret is that I didn't buy another set of all flavors to bring home to store in the freezer to have for the weeks to come. If you have had mochi from Twin Sisters in Hilo, this place comes neck to neck to theirs except that Maui Specialty Chocolates don't have any fresh fruit mochi which is all made up by how delicious the mochis are on Maui. Service was quick, like we just ordered and everything came to us within or about 10 mins. Our server was definitely on it & was really nice, did check on us 3x. Sorry I didn't catch our waitress name :(. It looked like a lot of families were dining in so we did have to wait a little but wasn't that long.

There's nothing special about the deli food anymore. Most of it looks the same, trays of mushy food that are either dried out or they're out of half the items. I went in for soup today and all three soup containers were practically empty and burnt at the bottom. Most of the deli food looked dry and like it had been sitting there way too long. I went upstairs to eat and the dining area was really dirty too. I'm not sure if there's new management or what, but this place definitely needs a serious boost, and fast.

I will never go to this place again. The boss or lady in charge I believe her name was Candice or Candy was extremely rude to her employee. It was really hard to listen too. I felt so bad for the employee I left more money as a tip then I spent on the donuts. Update to the apparent owner who accuses me of having a wife who got fired lololol.. 10-8-22 You couldn't be anymore wrong. My review is 100% true and I've never been married nor do I know any employees at your establishment, so firing my wife is laughable. Maybe you should focus on the way you treat people rather than pestering people writing reviews on Yelp.. I have NO reason to lie about a review, in fact I never do this sort of thing, but YOU, you were soooo arrogant, I couldn't resist the temptation. Your business gets enough bad reviews as it is. Who needs shave ice when you can have these amazing doughnuts. This is not your typical doughnut, don't expect to come here and have your sprinkle cake doughnut later. Every doughnut is cooked to order, served piping hot, for an additional dollar you have have the doughnut filled with a variety of flavors. If you're in Lahaina, it's a must try!
