Amazing food truck. It's more of an atmosphere. The owner was just so gracious and helpful with our selection of malasadas. We had some choices that we selected but went with 6 of ours and 6 of her favorites and oh wow did they impress. Great conversation and hands down one of the best experiences. Yes they are just small treats but it makes a difference when you get a level of service that is out of this world. Mahalo nui loa. The best.
Hawaiian donuts were delicious. October 21, 2025 was our first time experiencing. When we stepped up to the food truck, Sabrina greeted us and helped us put together a selection of six donuts. They are made to order, so fresh and hot. They were so good, a few days later we made a second trip back for more. Thanks Sabrina for making our stay in Maui just a little bit more memorable! The highlight of this dessert truck is definitely their malasadas.They're made fresh and have a variety of flavors to choose from. Unfortunately, I found the staff to not be very informative about the menu options. It would have been nice to receive friendly and helpful service, especially when trying to decide which malasada flavor to choose. Despite the staff's demeanor, the desserts themselves are worth a try. Just be prepared to navigate the menu on your own or ask for recommendations from fellow customers.
Nothing I love more than donuts on a Saturday, but these malasadas are so good they should be eaten every day. So fresh and warm. I love the raspberry and and Huapia filled (not pictured). The huapia is so subtle and perfectly sweet. You may be tempted to bring these to another spot to eat, since the food truck roundup by Costco (or gas station where it previously was located) aren't the best ambience, but eating them fresh is a must!
Just looking at my picture makes me want to fly back to Hawaii so I can go buy more of these deliciousness! Seriously some of the best dessert I've had. The fillings are just the cherry on top! My favorite has to be guava because I love guava and it does not disappoint. I liked all the flavors we ordered. So many flavors, decent price, so fresh! If you have a sweet tooth, I recommend!
I kept seeing this Hot Malasada spot pot up in my feeds while in Maui. I decided to check them out and see if they live up to the hype. 1. The address to the food truck is like top secret. I had to google it to get the address. 2. It actually sits at the corner of Haleakala Hwy & Dairy Rd alongside a plethora of assorted food trucks. Right across from Costco. 3. I walk up to order. Guy is not friendly at all. Just direct. 4. I order the 6 Malasada's for $15 as the sign depicts. It says to add fillings. I proceed to get chocolate, 2 Haupia, Lilikoi, Mango & strawberry. 5. He says hold on let me start your order. Price comes out to $29. I state that the sign says $15. He replies, that's only for plain. No where on the sign does it say anything about the price for filling. 6. I felt like because he had already started my order, I was stuck with the price of $29. So I paid for them. 7. 10 minutes later, the Malasada's were ready. Smelled delicious. Got them home and hubby enjoyed the Mango with his dinner. I had 1/2 the haupia. Note: the reason for the 3 stars is because you'd think at these prices the fillings would be homemade. If you look in the window, you'll see all the regular store brought supplies. Nutella, strawberry jelly, and other jars that made me second think my purchase. I didn't see these until I was picking up the order. To each their own. I'll stick with Leonard's.

Aloha fellow BES' Kine Goodies Seekers! I LOVE MANUELA MALASADAS so.stop by every time I go to Costco! They are right across the street so I may drive to the lot right next to the truck or just run across the street ! It's a cute, very clean food truck right off the hotel driveway & parking lot with parking stalls right near it in case you buy a bunch to take home. Or have a car full of luggage from your flight to Maui since it's just down the way from OGG airport. Malasadas put donuts to shame!!! ESPECIALLY if you like gooey fillings & toppings. My favorite ones are around Christmas but they have tons of regular fillings. I can never get less than three because I can't pass up my chance to try new ones. They have wonderful staff... especially the manager Sabrina...really know their way around dough and they do not scrimp on the Malasadas itself or the fillings! They ONLY cook just for you... so plan a few minutes wait but they have picnic tables under a tarp right there or you can walk around the other food trucks. One of my must haves while in Hawaii is to find Malasadas. Luckily, when my family and I went to Costco, Manuela Malasadas was across the street with other food trucks. Of course, I ran over and ordered a bunch of different filled Malasadas. Manuela Malasadas did not disappoint my family and me. Lilikoi was my favorite. Everything is made to order and always so fresh! A few days later, my family and I had to come back again for seconds! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Delicious! We happened to stop right before close and were promptly helped. We ordered 6 with sugar, and 3 with filling (raspberry, passion fruit, coconut). When in Hawaii you need to have at least one good Malasada - and Manuela Malasada's are just that. read more

First off, I'd like to say that I absolutely love malasadas. If you sell them, I buy them. However, this place takes the cake! The best malasadas I've ever had! Do not miss this place! Being able to choose the fillings and coatings means you get to completely tailor your malasadas! Nutella is a great filling, as is PB&J. They're made to order, so super fresh. There are a few tables outside as well as a food truck park next door. Well worth a visit! read more
Been to this place in the Big Island and glad to see it here in Maui. IMO this one is better than the one I had before. We got 3 malasada for $16 and didn't regret it. They were flavorful and super fresh. Crispy, warm and just delightful. A must get in Hawaii. read more

Finished lunch and was getting ready to leave but then saw the malasada truck and just had to get some! Didn't get the filled one, but chose the ling-hi and cinnamon sugar. They just hit my sweet tooth spot! Definitely would come back, maybe even try a filled one! read more
Wanted to pick up something sweet for the family on a quick trip to Maui. Found Manuela Malasada in Kahului - in a grouping of food trucks across from Costco. I really wanted to like these, but . . . They weren't like the malasadas that I'm used to (and LOVE) - like Leonard's - which are crispy on the outside and soft and light on the inside. Instead, these were quite dense and cakey. They actually reminded me more of andagi (Okinawan donuts) - maybe even denser. They are also more expensive than other malasada places, especially since you have to order them in quantities of 3x, 6x or 12x. And fillings are an extra $2. Only accepts cash or Zelle, as a heads up! We lived the texture of these malasadas, crispy yet soft on the inside. The inside of the truck appeared kinda messy/needed a good wipe down but the product came out hot and fresh and made to order! The only options for quality is 3, 6, or 12 as a heads up as well. We were hoping we could just get one to share but alas that was not the case. Definitely a must try treat in island! read more
IMHO I was heartbroken to learn that Manuela Malasada was no longer situated in Lahaina at the gas station. However, I learned that they had moved to a Kahului food truck park directly across the street from Costco. Driving by, I immediately recognized the signature purple "truck"! Fortunate for me, there was no line when I arrived. In Lahaina, there was always a long line, so I appreciated the time to scan the donut menu and decide what I wanted. I ordered one Lilikoi filled, one chocolate filled, and one custard filled, all with sugar toppings, plus one iced coffee. Of course, these are made to order so they come out hot and fresh! I'm guessing I waited maybe 10 minutes or less, but hey, these malasadas are worth it!!! Get thee to Manuela's Malasadas! read more
These "donuts" were really good. We ran into this spot while grabbing lunch at the food truck park near the airport. We picked up a 6 pack to take home and try. They have a lot of options and combinations to customize. Lots of good toppings and fillings available. My favorite was the sugar covered, Bavarian cream filled. You have to order minimum 3 malasadas - starting price $9. Then, every malasada you want filled is $2 each, aka $5 per each filled malasada. The malasadas were dense and doughy. Nothing about it gave me world famous vibes. Their marketing strategies definitely mislead me. Service was excellent though. I ordered the Bavarian cream filled but had the opportunity to try the haupia filling. To me, the haupia is superior. Cash only. As much as I'd like to support local business, I believe they should work on perfecting their product before calling it world famous. read more

These malasadas were mouth-watering! Made to order and freshly prepared, they were delicious. The flavors we selected were fantastic, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more. They're similar to a doughnut, but with a slightly more doughy texture--which I loved. Highly recommend giving these a try! read more
We were driving by and saw this small food truck saying that they have world famous malasadas and that they were featured on the Food Network so I decided it was a place we HAD to stop and try! We ended up ordering the ube cheesecake, Bavarian crème, and lilikoi cheesecake malasadas with plain sugar. These were sooo good!! The malasadas are made to order so when we got them, they were super hot and fresh and the cream inside them were so delicious as well. I also loved the contrast of the cold cream with the hot dough. It is a bit on the pricey end because a pack of 3 malasadas costs $9, but I would still say they are still definitely worth a try and your taste buds will thank you. The store is moreso just a stand that is located in the corner of a gas station. Service was friendly and the person taking our order was really patient with us as we were deciding what to order and he gave us recommendations as to what is popular. There isn't much seating here as there's only one bench in front of the stand, so I'd say this is more of a grab and go type place. read more
Service was friendly!!! The malasadas were delicious!! You have to try them!!! We stopped real fast before a tour departure, so we didn't get to sit on the benches to enjoy. But they do have a cute, quiet sitting area with benches. Roosters may linger but they are the cutest. read more

***MAKE SURE TO BRING CASH!!!*** Delicious Malasadas!! These Malasadas were made to order and so good! We went two days in a row and there was only one guy working, but he kicked out the donuts like there was no tomorrow! The little shop is located on the corner of a gas station, but it's pretty colorful and you can't miss it. I said it above, but will say it again, bring cash. The gas station has an ATM machine for a fee but be aware for those who can't get cash with their cards. Definitely recommend a stop here for some of the yummiest Malasadas! read more

Eek...don't hate me...but this definitely did not meet my expectations for a "must try" Maui food joint. The malasadas were pretty good but didn't quite "hit" like I would have liked. I agree with some of the other reviews that say that the dough has a sort of sour taste to it. Kinda like sourdough, but not in a good way because I love me some sourdough. I was also bummed because it was super hot that day, and I think it took us an HOUR to stand in a line with two other people and then finally get our donuts. I wish it could have been a better experience because we drove a far distance and I took all of my siblings with me. read more

Service was quick and owner was pretty nice. The malasadas were fresh and filled to the brim with filling. He doesn't skimp and he was pretty generous with the size and amount of filling in each malasada. We ordered banana cream, ube cheesecake and passion fruit fillings. Be prepared to sit outside at benches. I would recommend coming here for delicious malasadas. read more

Drove almost an hour to get these malasadas and I would 100% do it again! So fresh, delicious, and unique. I'm not usually a donut person but these are completely different and so amazing!! We got the haupia, lilikoi, and guava. My favorite was the haupia and my husband's was the lilikoi. All 3 were great! read more
Quality/Quantity - Huge fresh custom malasadas! We came here for 1 malasada and left with 6! We got all six with the Li-Hing (Sweet & Sour Plum Sugar), which I do NOT recommend. Not that it was not good, but after the 4th one, it started to taste the same. It is NOT you, it is me... Plus, it might be beneficial to try different combinations of flavors. Our fillings were: Peaches N Cream (wife's favorite), Ube & Lilikoi Cheesecake (when in HI), Blueberry (daughters favorite because it had whole blueberries in the filling), Pineapple, and Pumpkin spice. Atmosphere - Trailer in a 76 gas station; so you KNOW it's going to be good, LOL Service - 6 stars, crazy busy. People everywhere waiting for their malasadas. Great place to meet people, LOL. One of the team members was training, it might be his first day on the job. The other guy, sorry I forgot his name is awesome!!! He needs a raise!!! He did everything and was training the new person. He said that there are only 3 of them working total as it is very hard to hire. (Only him and the trainee was working today) Price - Custom, see picture. Do know that the #1 prices are only for plain. See menu picture. So you have to add the #2 prices of fillings. Can I suggest that your "selected quantity" amount and "add a filling" amount match? For example, you should have "add 3, 6, and 12 filling" prices rather than single, 2, 4, 6, and 12 fillings. See picture. Where is the 3 and 5 filling price? Guess we have to do math, LOL. We usually spotted the truck between 10 ish am to 2/3 ish in the afternoon. We had seen it as late as 5 pm.
