    Almond Ricotta Pancakes
    Sean R.

Maple Avenue Restaurant in one encounter has shot straight to the top of my list as a unique and lovely food experience. It stands on its own, an intimate setting with only a few tables to be seen. The owners and staff lean into that, making you feel like you are the most important person in the room. They stayed attentive throughout and were incredibly knowledgeable of the changing menu and everything that went into each dish. An easy favorite for me was the Omelette, filled with caramelized onion, sweet corn and Gouda; my taste buds have rarely been this happy. Each bite drenched in the umami aïoli saturated my every sense with a delightfully warm and comfortable flavor. I feel as though I could write an essay about each bite of each dish, but I'll try to save you some time. The grilled peach salad was refreshing and led to me scrapping the plate for the remaining nuts and dressing. The squash nuggets rested on a garden's dill crema that could have elevated anything. The almond ricotta pancake was so sweet and fluffy and somehow sophisticated, it could serve as a dessert easily. The spicy crepe fraiche wings surprised me with their subtle heat and tangy lovely flavor. Everything was paired with these perfectly seasoned crispy potato's that soaked up the dishes flavors but could easily be shoveled down completely alone. I don't know if I should go back tomorrow, wait for the menu to change so I can try something new and wonderful, or some combination of the two.

We came here for a late brunch after a back to back workouts (hot yoga + Zumba) so we needed very good nourishing brunch food with some mimosa. This restaurant is tiny but mighty in food in quality, the craftsmanship and service. We were blown away by their pre fix brunch menu for $26. We got two courses each and couldn't have been more satisfied. The eggs were soft and fluffy and tasted like truffles. Fried green tomatoes were masterful. We can't wait to come back and try the dinner prefixe menu.

First time to be here for our date night. Foods were amazing including the dessert doughnuts. We had the french pressed coffee. We enjoyed every single dishes here!!

This was one of my favorite dining experiences I've had in a while. I did the brunch menu and literally the potatoes were the best I ever had, super crispy. The service was great and I really felt welcomed by the owners. My friend and I are excited to come back to try their dinner menu.

It's been a few years since we've back, and I regret not going back sooner. Unassuming on the outside, very simple, almost sparse, but the food hits way above it's humble appearances. Vibrant seasonal cocktails, short but very well priced tasty wines by the bottle or glass, and excellent service. 4 course fixed price with 2 to 3 options per course. Root vegetable cake, mushroom risotto, wonderful salmon or pork steak confit with a very interesting caponata. Had to look that item up on the internet. The quality of the food punches way above their prices. Grabbing a weeknight meal before a concert, or something special on a higher budget? Definitely a top spot.

Enjoyed a really great brunch experience at Maple Ave. I loved the simplicity of the dining area, the set menu and the customer service. Everything we ate and drank was amazing!! I ordered the Maple and I had to slow myself down because it tasted so good. The Beer-mosa we were skeptical of, but it was delish. And oh my goodness...the potatoes!!! I will definitely come back when in the area.

Amazing restaurant that is tucked away in a nondescript building right off of the main drag in Vienna. Have just 7-8 tables in a small room, and only offer a rotating 4-course 60$ tasting menu with 1-2 choices per course, but literally everything I had here (including my cocktail) was amazing + the server was very friendly as well. The portions were all small, but after 4 of them I was pretty satisfied. Everything was plated very beautifully as well. Although the food menu is limited they do have a solid drink selection.

My grandmother and I visited Maple Ave last night and had an absolutely delicious meal. What looks like an unassuming place is truly producing some incredible food. The service was also wonderful and accommodating. Ricardo helped my grandmother inside (she is 94 with a walker) while I parked the car and they even turned the lights up so she could read the menu better. We visited on Sunday at 5pm and had the whole restaurant to ourselves until a couple showed up at 6pm. We started with the beet soup, which was not only welcome on such a cold night, but full of so much flavor. I've never had beet soup and was a little wary of it but it was so good. We then had the mushroom risotto, which was definitely the star of the meal and was warm, chewy and aromatic. The squash paired with the crispy mushrooms was the ultimate flavor combo. We then had the pork, which was so tender. This was the least favorite of the dishes but was still very good and my grandmother ate every bite! We finished the meal with the chocolate bread pudding which was the perfect bite to end the meal, not too sweet, but enough to change the palette and feel like the meal was complete. A true hidden gem!

    Seared shrimp and house pasta

This place is really special. Each dish felt like it was made for the first time just for us. Ricardo was delightful and his wife Justé is an absolutely incredible chef. The two have created an environment both lively and intimate. They made our anniversary one to remember. We can't wait to come back and try brunch very soon.

I tell everyone about this spot because it's so unique, delicious, and there's always something new on the menu. This is my second time coming now - first was for dinner and finally checked out brunch. The server is extremely sweet, passionate about the food, and really is the reason why we came for brunch - per his recommendation! Oh and let me say, this is a no frills place, which I love because the chef really puts her attention on the menu and what she's cooking. We came for an anniversary brunch and it was amazing! My husband got the beef empanada which was so flavorful! The crepe was delicious! Too sweet to start the meal? Not at all. The dulce de leche, jam, and custard was the perfect combo. I could eat another one I ordered the pot roast sandwich and ended up switching with my husband. He liked how heavy and hearty is was. Lots of flavors and juices! I guess i love the simplicity of the truffled eggs, so good! The potatoes and bacon were just the perfect amount of crispy. Of course we ordered the donut holes too and thank god because woah!!!! Soft center on the inside, crispy outside, add the ice cream....we were fighting over them! Can't wait to come again and try a whole new menu!

Went there for Father's Day dinner. It was a fantastic experience. We made reservation online thru Resy which has asked us our diet restrictions. Usually other restaurants missed our special needs and asked again when we order food in the restaurant. I was surprised our server in Maple Ave noticed that and double confirmed with us. He is very attentive and very professional. We were well notified which dish we should be avoided. The presentation of each dish were so beautiful and adjusted to meet our dietry needed. Although I saw some reviews about the price, it is worth because we can tell the chef is really care the customers' needs. Every single dish is very delicious. I personally like the dessert the most. The restaurant is very small, so strongly recommended to make reservations.

Food was great but the ambiance was so unsettling, that I would not go back. There's old carpet, terrible hard chairs, blank gray walls. The whole setting was very unappealing and didn't look clean. Food was great though! The courses came at a great pace. Our favorites were the mushroom risotto and fresh seasonal salad. The salmon dish was a little disappointing, it was the tiniest sliver of salmon!

    Squash nuggets

Great service and ambiance! Nice and unique foods served. Very enjoyable brunch! And, love that they change the menu frequently. The servings were perfect size and I ate everything on my plate - felt very full but not overly stuffed. Staff even kindly allowed us to stay past the brunch time to chat and didn't kick us out. It is such a charming place. We'll be back for more!

It's a nice atmosphere, not too stuffy but elegant enough for a nice dinner. The drinks are good, well mixed, and nice options whether you drink wine, beer, cocktails, or non-alcoholic options. The food, however, is very mediocre. They started with an amuse-bouche that was a fruit tart with cheese. Nice, light, and well balanced. We ordered the tuna tartare, along side a Japanese sweet potato dish and a salmon tartare that were both specials. The tartares were fine. Something you would get anywhere. The presentation was nice but their crisp or cracker was kind of useless as it doesn't have the structural strength to use as a vessel to eat the fish. The sweet potato was probably the best in terms of flavor albeit very rich. The main course is well things really fell apart. The beef dishes people ordered were either under cooked or over cooked. I got the grilled prawns which were limp and mushy. The veggies were underseasoned. The braised beef was small. I think everyone was underwhelmed with the main course. After seeing the list, we chose Randy's. Randy's is a Great American Restaurant, and I must say it's so good to go to a GAR with a menu different from the others. In the past, I've written about how one can go to Coastal Flats and get pretty much the same menu as, for example, Jackson's. We made a reservation for 5 p.m. on a Saturday. We arrived about a half hour early, so we asked if they could seat us right then and there. The people at the host stand said "yes". We were seated at a 4-top booth. Thus, there was plenty of room. The booths, which have mohair seat coverings, were a shade of green and quite attractive. The environment clearly says "upscale steakhouse." Our server was prompt in getting to us and asked if we wanted some water. We chose tap water. He gave us time to look over the menu. We decided to not have any appetizers as we didn't want to get too full. To drink, my husband got a glass of Catena Malbec while I got an Espresso Martini. Our server asked if we wanted some bread. We said "yes". The bread basket had 2 flaky, buttery croissants, plus a slice of white bread and a slice with raisins. For our main course, we both got the 7 oz. filet mignon cooked medium rare. We chose to try two sides. One side was "roasted asparagus" which consists of: "poached egg, parmesan (we asked for no cheese and our request was honored), truffled Bernaise aioli". The second side was "Honey roasted organic rainbow carrots," which were "dusted with candied walnuts". As for the food --- We both thought our steaks were properly cooked, However, my husband said his was on the dry side while mine was just right. We both really enjoyed the side dishes. The asparagus was unconventional, to be sure. Never did I have a poached egg with asparagus. I ate the egg, and it was properly cooked. Looking back, I should have thought to put some salt on it as there was none. The truffled sauce was creamy and added nice flavor. The carrots, to me anyway, were a pleasant surprise. The honey added a nice flavor along with the candied walnuts. They, too, were cooked perfectly. As for being "rainbow" carrots, most were orange, with some white and yellow ones. We had some room for dessert, so we decided to share "Tressa's crispy meringue filled with lemon curd and finished with passionfruit coulis". Since it was our anniversary dinner, a dollop of whipped cream was added to the plate. In that dollop was a lit candle, which was a nice touch. I found the coulis to be on the tart side. The lemon curd was mildly flavored. Service was excellent, though dessert took a while ,to arrive. All in all, a nice splurge and we're glad we came here. (Well...we didn't care for the traffic on Leesburg Pike, but the dinner made it worth the trip).
