Gave me an okay price on the tire I needed replaced, but they upcharged the tow despite using a 3rd party service. I was charged $10 for tolls despite the route having no more than $1.75. Makes me wonder what else they will nickel and dime you on, will not be doing business here again. read more

I went here because I read good things about this repair shop on the Car Talk website, plus I live two blocks away. Perfect combo right? Not quite. Basically, a $200 A/C repair job turned into $1,000 in body work. Either an employee or a customer plowed into my SUV during the day that I left it there. I called the police for an accident report but they couldn't do anything since no one witnessed it. There are no security cameras on the lot. The owner swore that we brought the vehicle to him in that condition. I realize that this is a unique situation. Unfortunately, I won't be going back to this shop. Ever. At least my A/C works now. My family has been bringing cars here for years, but since I have moved to Wisconsin I have been a spotty customer at best. But that doesn't seem to matter to the awesome guys at Maple Grove. I stopped in yesterday 1/2 hour before close. They took me without an appointment, found the part, did the repair and got me out in under an hour. Plus, they charged me way less then the dealer in WI quoted me. I can't recommend them highly enough. A good mechanic is hard to find. If you head to Maple Grove, you've found one. read more

We've been going to Maple Grove for 20+ years and have always received excellent service. The personnel there are uniformly courteous and go out of their way to explain what they will be doing. Usually when I have the car in for service they will do a general look-over to see if anything else needs attention. If it does, they will tell me about it and let me know if its something that needs immediate attention, will need to be done in the future or is something I should keep my eye on. DON'T GET SERVICED HERE. I got my car serviced here about 2 weeks ago. all i needed done was a power steering pump, which i was very clear. they fixed it but when i got it back 3 more things were broken. it felt like they were trying to scam me into returning because of the problems they made. 1. my ac was filled with air not freon. it worked perfectly before but after it was hot air and no valve cap! my wheel is way too wobbly and the brakes vibrates a little too much. before you take your car to a mechanic take a picture of your engine bay and check codes because most mechanics are scammers. read more

All I can say is Bait and Switch. Quoted me for quite a bit of suspension work (shocks, springs, tie rods, etc). After they got my car they call and tell it is going to take more time then they thought and going to cost more (some lame excuse about they didn't quite understand how the parts went together on my specific vehicle). I found this place a few years ago when I lived in Woodridge. I found them to be competetively priced, but more importantly, I always found that I could trust them. Car repairs suck, but not knowing if you're getting what you are paying for is even worse. They have always given me accurate estimates prior to any work being done, and have always shown me the damaged or worn part that was replaced. I moved to Plainfield a couple of years back and still drive back there for my repairs. I've had everything from a simple tire repair to major work done and have always been happy. Can't really think of anything negative to say really. Waiting area is small.. Could use a TV...that;s about it. read more

I went to Maple Grove Automotive after using another shop for years that I spent over $3,000 one of my cars over 12 months time and the same problems needed to be repaired again. The final straw was when I took my car in after It failed an emissions test and they charged me over $1,000 and then it failed again. I had my previous shop quote me on a recent repair and took it to Maple Grove to get the work done, where I was assured by MGA's owner, Bill, they could do the work for less than my quote (he politely seemed to convey that the other shop was overcharging me). Maple Grove Automotive charged me less than a third of my previous shop! I've taken my family's two cars to Maple Grove Automotive for over a year and they've been consistently excellent. They're honest, everyone is extremely friendly, they're straightforward, they deliver on their promises, the work is good and the pricing is fair. My experience is that it's not easy to find a trustworthy automotive repair shop and this shop is trustworthy. I highly recommend them. read more

I recently went there for an estimate for repairs. Dropped off my car on a Tuesday, was told they couldn't inspect it until Friday and didn't get it back until the following Monday. They charged me for the inspection, gave a few suggestions about keeping my car running and told me it was driveable. 15 min. later I had it towed back home. I won't be going back there. read more

It is very difficult to decide where to take your car for repair and we chose this place because it was convienient and they talked a good game. They had our car for 2 weeks and our quoted price tripled over the weeks they had our vehicle. Then upon supposed completion the car died on the way to work and we were charged for the tow back to the shop. Just choose another place.. it can't be worse. read more

I always think car repairs guys are trying to pull one over on you but I truly believe these are good guys and the work was really good. I have taken both cars to them for repairs and each time it's been great. The prices were reasonable (called my dealer to compare) and the end result is perfect. The people who work at this shop are degenerate ASE-wannabe crooks. They lie through their teeth. A seventy dollar break job turned into 300 dollars, after a month, the breaks were completely shot and the car would not stop while driving! I went in, said that the break light was on, they look at the car and tell me it is the disks, drums, etc. It sounded ridiculous at the time but my husband was out of the country and I had no other choice so I payed. They say, "we will just turn off the light for you," I say huh? If that's what needs to be done then do it, but just fix the breaks. Not even a week into driving the car the light turns back on. I thought oh well, as long as the breaks are fixed. After about three weeks the breaks completely malfunction and my son and I nearly get into a horrible crash. So I brought the car back, showed the reciepts, and told them that the breaks are worse off than they were before. The people laughed at us and said it was not their fault, that we did it while driving. They demanded we pay again so we said no thank you, but not before the leeches got a chance to put the car on a lift and break something else. The clincher: As we drove back into our driveway, a few blocks from this auto shop, the car completely sputters and breaks down. Now it will not start. Called up an ASE certified uncle, he looks at the car and says that someone intentionally punctured some important thing on the breaks and intentionally messed with the alternator, main adjective being INTENTIONALLY. He also said that the work they did on the car was absolutely un-necessary work! They just wanted money. We will be calling our lawyer and reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau along with any other consumer agencies which handle these things. Soon enough this place will be out of business anyway. Watch for the fake smiles and the "unfortunates." It is all a Game for these people. Stay away from these ravening wolves like the plague if you care for the safety of your children and your life! read more
