Turkey Sausage

I came around 10:00 AM on a Monday so there wasn't much of a rush. The food came out quickly the pancakes didn't come with any sides but were very filling and tasty there was a large portion of turkey sausage. The waiting staff was also courteous.

Maplewood was on my short list to tryout. I was able to make this happen while downtown for a convention. Located in the heart of Cincinnati's business district and steps away from Fountain Square. We tried the omelette and bacon for an early brunch. Paired with an absolutely delicious Bloody Mary. Service and food was excellent. Maplewood is a winner for downtown Cincinnati

We discovered this place nearby our hotel and were looking for a good brunch spot. The reviews and menu looked good so we gave Maplewood Kitchen a try. The space is open, bright and well decorated making it very inviting for brunch. You order at the counter from the menus placed along the wall then food is delivered to your table. The various brunch items all sounded very inviting so I was having trouble deciding what to order. So I got a recommendation to try the Shakshuka. Not sure how to pronounce it but when it arrived it was just the right portion and quite tasty for brunch. It's a bowl with a red pepper sauce and feta cheese and kale along with eggs sunny side up. The dish is served with pita so you can do a little bit of dipping in the tasty sauce. To accompany our food we selected the mimosa service and bloody mary pitcher. A pitcher is just perfect for sharing. And the mimosa service was delightful. The server arrived with a bottle of Prosecco and small carafes of orange, grapefruit and blood orange juices to mix yourself. The food was fresh and tasty with prompt delivery of our food to our table. Not quite a full service restaurant since you have to order at the counter but still a nice experience located downtown.

Can't say enough about this place. The food here is superb and can't get enough of it. I've been here 3 times in the last month and have had a great experience with the food and service every time. This place is definitely my #1 go-to for brunch in Cincinatti hands down. I haven't had a bad vibe yet. It's all up and good every time I come here. COME THROUGH YA'LL. If you haven't been here you guys are missing out.

The Maplewood hash with braised chicken just tastes like a high-protein power breakfast. The flavor holds its own without any sauces/dressings/gravys. (-1 point for the OJ being bottled, yet still $4). Time to seize the day!

I was nervous about this place since I got the sense it's a bit of a corporate joint. Upon entering, a sign guides you along the wall to the order counter, and of course, they attempt to seduce you with their case of pastries before you get to the register. I RESISTED so your plan was foiled, Maplewood Kitchen and Bar. The cashier was one of the friendliest I've encountered, and immediately made me feel welcomed. I ordered the Avo Toast and added an egg plus my go-to cortado. The coffee was great! Steaming hot, rich bold flavor and skilled foam art to boot. The Avo Toast was also tasty -- I appreciated the crispy bread, though it was veering towards stale. I wasn't a huge fan of the sweet honey and pistachio toppings, but the Avo was fresh and adding an egg balanced out the sweetness. The presentation was also impressive. It's modern and clean-feeling inside, with tons of seating. They also played pretty chill tunes for us morning folk. And given that I was pressed for time, the order came out super fast. Parking in the area seems tricky since it's in the center of Downtown on Race St, but I got lucky with a metered parking spot. I would 100% come back if I were passing through Cincy again.

Service was great all around. Placing an order was a breeze but finding a seat became a small issue. The mimosa service was pretty good. You get a bottle of choice and 3 carafes of juice. My chips and guac was so so, more like smashed avocado with a dash of salt. Burger was cool, nothing spectacular.

Having never tried Maplewood, I wasn't sure what to expect. Walking in, I was immediately overwhelmed. The menus were not hanging, the environment was loud, and there was just a lot going on. The Maplewood Hash was solid, and the food the others at the table had was also. I just felt that the way the restaurant was set up and ran was not extremely efficient. The line did not move as fast as it should for a cafeteria style line. On top of this, drinks were never offered/encouraged, and some food options were not included on the menu. While I usually give places a second try, this one does not fall in to that category.

This a is popular spot downtown open only from limited hours. We stopped in for Sunday brunch and while very busy we got seats quickly the had are food minutes after ordering. I'm not a huge fan of order at the counter brunch spots but the staff were very friendly and the food came VERY quickly. Ricotta pancakes were good if not great and the mimosa and Bloody Mary are definitely worth ordering.

Chiliquillas

I spent a week in Cinci and this is the best place I ate at. It's classy for a breakfast place, and I was surprised how good some of the lunch items looked. Staff was excellent also! I hope I can come back and take my family.

First visit while visiting Cincy and all was good. I ordered the basic breakfast and the food came out hot and fast. The system in which you order is very efficient and plenty of seating.

This location has metered parking in front or a parking garage close by. When you walk in, you get in line to order your food and then go grab a table and they will deliver the food to your table. The service was friendly and we didn't have to wait to order and it wasn't long after we did order to receive the food. Our food was really good. I enjoyed the chilaquiles even without the cheese and cream. I could have used a few less chips but overall good. My husband got the berry compote with his bread and it was fantastic. This place is definitely worth a try. It is nicely decorated, bright with lots of natural light and high ceilings.

Without a doubt still one of the best breakfast spots to visit when in Cincinnati!!! Staff is super friendly, food is Exceptional!!! Clean atmosphere!

I do not believe so. Pretty high end dining even though you stand at a counter to order. The decor and access to food and beverage did not seem like a place that allowed pets to roam.

Yes, it's cafeteria style ordering and they've got plenty of large tables, so I'd imagine it's perfect. Like any place that's really good it can be crowded though

We began with a dirty chai latte, aromatic and comforting, though I personally would have enjoyed a touch more sweetness. The dirty French, customized gluten free, was rich, decadent and deeply satisfying. It felt indulgent in the best way and showcased the kitchen's ability to balance comfort with culinary intention. To go, we ordered the crunchy chicken nuggets, fries and lemon ricotta pancakes. The fries were outstanding, perfectly crisp and addictive. If you prefer a quieter setting, then eating in the bar is your best bet because the dining rooms do get loud. We started with the east/west coast oysters and they were so fresh. The passion fruit mignonette was the perfect compliment. I kept scooping out tiny spoonfuls and drinking it after we finished the oysters. The Fluke Crudo was fantastic. The combo of flavors and textures was a delight for the palate. The scallops over the miso leek risotto was one of the best scallop dishes we have ever eaten. The scallops were huge and cooked perfectly and there were plenty of pieces of leek in a lovely, smooth risotto. We're not a fan of hijiki, so the chef prepared the risotto without it - Thanks Chef Jose! And you would think chicken schnitzel would be basic, but not this dish. The chicken was so moist, perfectly seasoned, and pan fried in butter. We asked for the sauce on the side because we knew we wouldn't finish the big piece and wanted to heat it up later and still be crispy (which we did). We were amazed that eating the chicken, almond, asparagus, and some sauce in one bite, was SO good. The best two meals we have had in Cincinnati so far in 2026 have been here, and Mita's.
