After a fun day at Wodapalooza in Miami, FL we were looking forward to a fun meal out. We were able to grab reservations at Marabu in Brickell. It is located in an outdoor mall on the 4th floor. The mall setting was a little more laid back than we were looking for, however the drinks made it all worth it. The sugar cane sticks in the mojitos were SO cool. I've never had sugar cane like that. The short rib appetizer was also phenomenal. Our main entrees were just ok. I had the skirt steak. The black beans were nothing memorable and I had high hopes because usually Cuban places have incredible black beans. The skinny margaritas were STRONG, which honestly was fun for the kind of night we were having. We had a hard time getting the waitresses attention to check-out which made us a little irritated at the end, however all in all it was an OK experience. If you're looking for fun drinks to start your night, I think this would be a fun place to go. I could also see this being a great spot to end a day of shopping. If this is your destination for dinner, I think you might be happier at a more authentic venue rather than a mall. read more

We are visiting our family in Miami from California and we decided to spent Valentine's Day at Marabú. We were able to get a last minute reservation through opentable.com. This beautiful Cuban restaurant is in the center of the downtown Miami, to be exact it is on the fourth floor of the beautiful Brickell City Centre. Now for the part that everyone wants to hear, we were greeted immediately and got seated on the inside close to the kitchen. Our server Marcia was so amiable and polite, she got us water right away and some complementary plantain chips. Furthermore, to drink we ordered the red sangria and the passion fruit mojito, to eat I ordered the palomilla steak and my husband ordered the whole snapper. The food was so delightful and full of flavor, their black beans were so so yummy it made me feel like if I was eating my grandmother's black beans in Cuba . For the dessert were ordered the Nutella brownies if I'm not mistaken and it was also delicious. Definitely will recommend Marabú to all my friends and family. read more

Considering we waited so long, expected food to be hot. Instead it was almost cold. Also food came out incomplete and sides were incorrect. Portions and taste did not match menu pricing (way over priced in many cases). The $65 fried snapper tasted and looked like frozen food. The ambiance is very nice considering it is open to the mall common area. This makes it a bit loud, but also provides a good spot for people watching. Reservation recommended, on a Saturday night we were glad we did. We are from South Florida so very familiar with Cuban food and Cuban restaurants - this is one of the best we have eaten at. The charcoal grills are a nice presentation, although the tables should be bigger to fit them. I ditched mine fast so we had more room on the table without feeling crowded. I had the signature dish roast pork chunks that was excellent once they brought more garlic onions to go on top. Ask for extra, it makes the dish! Everyone was nice, Adriana did a great job of explaining the menu and making suggestions. Everyone liked the food and drinks. With Appetizers, food and 1 drink each, it came to $70 each with the included 18% gratuity. This is my second time at this place and they did not disappoint. From the second you step in the patio you are greeted with amazing service. The place is gorgeous and you have music playing around you. It's beautifully decorated and just amazing to be in. Then the main attraction the food. Omg the food is amazing.
