Expected better quality food. The service was good, but the food was over priced for the quality. We ordered: * Ham Croquettes - those were pretty good * mini fritas - very tasty with a little kick * pork tamale - This is where it falls apart. Normally the pork is cooked into the tamale, but not here. The tamale sat in a tomato based sauce, which was pretty good, with pieces of "pork." Unfortunately, the cuts of pork were more fat than pork. They were small pieces, each being more than 50% fat. For these prices, I expect better! * Cuban fried rice - pretty good smokey flavor, but again tocino (pork) chunks were very fatty * cuatro leches - soooo good. Served with condensed milk ice cream, and topped with a torched marshmallow fluff like topping * bread pudding - it was OK. served with ice cream. Not sweet enough, especially since the fruit chunks were not ripe/sweet. read more

I have nothing bad to say about Marabu. It was a positive experience but the only thing about it that stood out was our server Joandre. He was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. All the dishes and drinks were exactly as he described. The Marabu mojito was a solid drink and the pulpo was pretty good. The complimentary bread pudding Was also a nice touch and a favorite of the table. I just feel like you can find this stuff on Calle 8 for less money and a more authentic experience. read more

We had such a great time! We actually came back twice in two nights!! Leidy was our server tonight and she was a rockstar! Very friendly and took great care of us. We had skirt steaks and the grouper on the grill both cooked to perfection. We love the sides as much as the entrees, the black beans and Maduros were incredible. Our real treat for the night was the cuatro leches cake! The dulche de leche ice cream was incredible. Bread pudding was also delicious. Will come back here again and again! read more

Marcia is an amazing waitress. the food was good too. but Marcia would be the reason we return.

Food and service was amazing, atmosphere is nice (indoor and outdoor seating available) and location is perfect for shopping and walking around main spots in Brickell. Will definitely come back! Recommend the ropa vieja empanadas, mussels and moros rice! The bread pudding wasn't my favorite (served cold and very sweet) but the chocolate cake is apparently the most popular - will try next time! read more

The quality of the food is not equivalent to the cost it has. The service was okay, nothing special; the girl at the bar wore gloves but passed her hands through her hair and also she was eating fries without changing or taking off her gloves, while she was still preparing drinks, kind of disgusting to see that. There are better places in the city with better quality of food, service and prices. I won't come back to this place or recommend it to anyone. Not authentic Cuban! Just as a heads up if your looking for an authentic Cuban Rest. this is not the place. I'm not saying it is bad, the rest. is beautiful, drinks are good and food is okay (depending on what you order) but it's not actual Cuban food in the sense that it does not taste or look the same. I wouldn't go back just cause I'm latina and I know latin food and this disappointed me a bit. The tostones rellenos were hard as a rock! And the food was very bland. I ordered vaca frita, which I normally order in Cuban rest. and got a "Vaca Frita" meal like one I've never seen before.. not in a good way. I was really sad to see this and on top of that I also got the hard tostones. Please note: I got my appetizer after my main course which I found a bit odd. So if your thinking about ordering an appetizer I'd recommend you just wait for your main course. So overall I do not believe I would go back. read more

This is Cuban cuisine taken to another level. Out of the box creations of pure magic! To the drinks being the most unique flavors of ingredients (Batido De Mamey, Chinola Mojito), make you feel all sorts of happy! To the meals blowing our minds. You can feel their love for Cuban food and the passion they put into everything. It is the closest to Cuba you will get in the whole South Florida. To the music making you feel like you want to go dancing in Havana, the vibe makes you feel like you're there! And for the staff, both the GM and our beautiful server Johanna made us feel at home. Marabu is located in Brickell City Centre and it's listed as Cuban cuisine. It is not Cuban cuisine. It is the watered down American alternative that gives the Cuban decor with basic food options and basic service. The ambiance in the restaurant itself is beautiful, but our service was poor to say the least. We were rushed as soon as we sat down, and yet our food took entirely too long to arrive. 3 tables that arrived after us had their appetizers and meals before we received anything and we hadn't even ordered an appetizer. I had to ask a server to find our waitress to check on our meal. Also I asked for well done salmon that was actually burnt. A cruel joke I assumed for my preference for flaky fish?? My boyfriend ordered the baby back ribs and his poor face said it all as he took the first bite. He suggested they remove ribs from their menu all together which should explain their quality. Please read this review and just save yourself some time &the headache and just eat somewhere else. There are other options in Brickell that are within a 5 minute walking distance to this place. I visited this restaurant after recently moving to Miami from Los Angeles. Heard really great things about this place and just had to try it out. I finally made the decision to go last Monday (05/08) and I have to say my family and I had the best experience there. Not only from the restaurant and food itself but most of all from our server, Joselin. The atmosphere and energy in restaurant was incredible but more so what made it that much better was how well taken care of we are by our server Joselin. She was very helpful with the menu choices and drink options as well. She was lovely and her customer service I must say exceeded expectations. I hope next time I go back either by myself or anyone else, that my server is Joselin again. read more
