I HATE to write this because I love all things Marathon but I have to be honest. I opted to do a pickup order via DoorDash since the comments mention long wait times. The pricing is significantly higher on DoorDash but I figured it was worth it to avoid waiting. We ordered two burger and one wing combo which totaled $85 so my expectations were even higher after paying so much for two burger combos and some wings. My order was ready on time. While the burger was decent, they were much smaller than expected. I was given the wrong wing order which were so hot, they were not edible (and we love spice). It's a nice space however, I won't be back. read more

Burgers were worth the wait. Nipsey would be proud as you can tell this was all made with love. This restaurant is really Blacc Sam's love note to his brother and something that can go on and on as a marathon does. Everyone involved from the security on the outside, to the people taking your order, preparing the food, and serving you, do so with a smile and respect. They truly care about your experience here. Despite the business, there was lots of care and patience. I had the Marathon burger combo. Burger was very delicious and flavorful. The star may be the blue lemonade. It was delicious and the drinks are served with "good ice". Lol! When I go back, I definitely want to get the chicken wings as they looked amazing. They also have breakfast. This place is a classic! The marathon burger is the perfect portion! It has all the right fixings. The fries are pretty tasty dipped in the secret sauce. I absolutely love their blue lemonade. This was definitely a nostalgic experience! The employees are so upbeat and full of energy! The place was crowded but the employees remained enthusiastic. They have outdoor seating and a few seats inside. The music is playing over the speakers inside and out. What an experience! read more

From my experience, I'm not sure if it's busy like this regularly but the Sunday afternoon I went I waited a pretty long time in line so be prepared for the wait. I enjoyed the food alot! The burger was pretty good as expected! What stood out the most though I will say were the chicken tenders and the pound cake! Both are forsure a must try if you decide to visit this place. Day 2 of being open!!!! While in LA, I decided to visit the newly open Marathon Burger. I am a native and grew up in circles with the late Nipsey Husle so I was excited to support the vision. It's located on a Melrose so prepare to spend a minute looking for parking. It's right across the street from CVS. The sign Marathon sign is bold so you won't miss it. Right now the seating is limited inside and outside but the location has room for growth. The color seem of the resultant is red and one with one of quotes from Nipsey inside and outside. "Food so good you will double up!" Is the slogan. I waited a total of 2.5 hours to get my meal. I waited and 1.5 in before placing my order and a hour my door to be ready. Reminder this was only day 2 and the line was around the corner. I order their Smash burger combo and a chicken sandwich. The service was "struggling" meaning orders were made wrong and people food was getting cold. Sadly,y order was made wrong! Instead of a chicken sandwich I was given lemon pepper chicken tenders and an extra order of fries. I wanted to take it back but I had already drove a few blocks away. The staff were friendly and a bit frustrated with the restaurant ordering and preparation. You can tell they were not expecting this huge of a turn out. I did noticed after the hour and half mark of waiting more staff arriving including the owner Blacc Sam. The smash burger was really good. The onions were grilled to perfection and gave the burger a nice crunch. The meat was well seasoned and smashed just right. The bun was soft and complimented the burger. Definitely will order again. The chicken tenders had a nice crunch and was cooked just right. Unfortunately, mines were a-little salty. The secret sauce provided on the side was good. I was given a side of ranch but somehow it ended up being tartar sauce. The fries were soggy and a bit greasy. The garlic flavor seasoning was a nice touch. In all I will try the spot again when it's less busy and they have improved their service. I will say the food has great potential. Their smash burger is five stars! read more

I recently visited both Melrose location and Venice beach. Found parking nearby for both. Service was quick, efficient and courteous! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try the food. My son and I waited over an hour and a half in line and finally decided to leave and go somewhere else. The line was at a dead stop and wasn't moving at all. Yes, there were hundreds of people waiting just like me but, there seemed to be an issue with getting the line down. This is a new restaurant and they definitely need to figure out how to keep the line moving. We are hoping to come back during a weekday and early to check it out. The menu seems fairly priced for the combo considering they are using Wagyu beef. Looking forward to my second review after I've tried the burger. read more

Today I had the pleasure of trying some items off the Marathon Burger menu. The service was fast and staff is friendly. The outside seating area has a very zen warm feeling. Let me start by saying I'm a burger lover and the Marathon Waygu Burger is simply delicious the house made peppers and pickles makes for a party in your mouth! How are people giving this 5 stars? $36 for the wrong burger, a missing patty, and inedible fries... like worse than in n out with no salt. We ordered two OG burgers, received the marathon burger with ONE patty on both... I don't think one patty is even on option on the menu. Took forever to pick up and cold by the time we were home in Larchmont. read more

I've supported Nip and Blacc Sam from day 1. Went to the marathon store when it was fledgling and bought movies when that was the thing when they were tryna get Nip on. My cousin was almost one of his producers. But we've all had smashburgers before. It's the craze these days for some reason. However this one is mediocre. The fries are greasy too. The kool aid is good but we can make that at home. I ordered the lemon pepper bbq wings also. Great flavor but definitely overcooked. Came on a day that wasn't so crowded so the service was ok. Sat on the patio and listened to music. I'll still support the next venture. read more

I went to see what was all the hype about this place and after a WAIT I got to say their burger was mid/ok along with their fries. Their chicken sandwich was much better taste and flavor. Their flavor drinks were refreshing. This place was the old Johnny Rockets spot which I don't understand why marathon burger owners don't open the patio completely like Johnny Rockets had before. The patio concept at the moment is so small and crowded not enough tables spots to sit down and enjoy. read more

That wait didn't bother me at all. When you open a new business, especially one honoring and celebrating a legend, I was more than willing to wait and experience it. And let me tell you, it was worth it. The burgers are very good, and the bun--OMG, perfection! I highly recommend the OG. The fries are seasoned to perfection, but my absolute favorite? The wings! Please don't forget the ranch--the flavor took me back to that classic ranch packet mixed with sour cream. Oh my! The blue lemonade was amazing as well--it did not let me down. I got the Jr. Burger/ Kids combo meal. I like beef..but not that much and I had never tried wagyu before. I was pleasantly surprised for how ever, it tasted more lean/clean. The fries gave in n out fries but with a better season. I initially order the regular lemonade but it was wayyy too sweet. An employee, Rob, came over and asked me how I was enjoying everything and I was honest about my lemonade. He immediately poured me up his favorite lemonade (blue) and I in fact liked that one much better. Definitely enjoyed the burger and appreciated the experience, great music/vibe, friendly staff, and clean surroundings. Will be back! read more

Stopped by here before it was fully open but had to show out for Nipsey !! The Burgers were A1 nice and juicy. Yes they are a bit pricey $20s for a combo but u pay for the quality. My daughter loved her burger as well. Found parking right in front and the wait time wasn't bad at all. We dines outdoors in their lil patio area. They had security there so i felt safer. The service was good the cashier was nice and friendly. Cant wait to check out their location at Venice Beach. The burger is done right! It's got that good edge crust! That's what a smash burger is all about right?! The bun is fluffy and a lil sweet. It balances the seasoning on the meat and the tang of the sauce! The fries are seasoned well and crisp! Some great fries! The place was super packed, but the staff kept everything hummin'! As busy as the place was, the wait wasn't too long! Getting a table's like playin' craps though! So have a back up plan! Git yo food ta go so you can bounce if you can't find a spot to squat! The drinks were SO good! Liquid crack on steroids! It's a cool little old school diner looking spot! It was an old Johnny Rockets that got a lil face lift, so it still works as a burger spot. Terrible service! Waited almost 3.5 hours for burgers and fries. Staff was not moving with any sense of urgency while people waited in line trying to support. We waited for 1.5 hours in line and then another hour or so after placing our order. The staff was only concerned about "hooking" up people they knew who constantly came to the front and received their orders before everyone else. It's just not ok to treat people like that when they are genuinely trying to support in the name of Nip. After all the time we spent they still got our order wrong. Sad part is the burger was actually pretty good. The fries were not my cup of tea and cold after the wait. The lemonade was great BUT nothing was worth that type of wait and bad service. Good luck to them. Hopefully they will find management that can get them running like a well oiled machine but until then I wouldn't waste my time . Seriously one of the Worst experiences in my life at a restaurant. It's just burgers and fries... don't over complicate it. read more

It's very hard to write this review because we came here very excited especially my husband because he loves Nipsey Hussle and we wanted to support. Sad to say, we got there after 11PM and they were taking orders through DoorDash. The waiting period is a mess! We waited an hour to get our cold food. My husband burger was cold, my fries were stale, it was bad all the way. Customer service was not bad but how can I give them a good rating if they make the customers wait this long and when they get their food is cold and on top of that it was $75! We probably will not be coming back here again. We will just stick to supporting the clothing line. read more

Not enough people are honest about this place so I'll do it. There were only about 4 people ahead of me in line. But I still waited over an hour for my food. All I ordered was two burgers. It's embarrassing that it took so long. Never in my life have I waited so long for food. All the tables were filled with customers but they all too were waiting for their food. When the food finally came it was good but not good enough to justify the wait and price. You're better off going to ANY other burger joint. read more

Marathon Burger lives up to its name. My god-order the Marathon Burger. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, it's easily one of the best burgers in LA. The fries are just as memorable-crispy, well-seasoned, and addictive. There's something special about eating here knowing it carries Nipsey Hussle's legacy. It was cool. Waited over an hour after ordering. Received complimentary fries at counter and they were fresh hot and tasty. Customer service was great. It was a whole vibe with good music and a nice crowd of people inside waiting. I didn't eat my OG BURGER right away however it was still delicious at room temp. I'd definitely go back and I personally think my food was well worth the wait and the price. read more

Amazing burgers, amazing fries--and yes, the lemonade is amazing too! There are 3 to choose from. The wait was around 40 minutes, but with a steady line and every table full, you quickly realize why. The food is absolutely worth it. This place serves next-level burgers that rival any 5-star Michelin spot in the world. Do yourself a favor and try this place--you're going to love it! read more

I recently visited Marathon Burger in Melrose, and while the food was delicious, the experience felt like a marathon itself! I ordered the 12-piece wings, the OG Burger combo, the Marathon Burger combo, and the Smash Burger. The flavors were fantastic, but the wait time was quite a challenge. I spent over an hour just waiting in line, and it took more than three hours in total to get my food. I appreciate that great meals take time, but this felt a bit excessive. I arrived at the establishment expecting it to open at 11:00 AM, as advertised, but the doors did not open until nearly 12:00 PM. Once inside, the atmosphere was disappointing--none of the staff greeted us or made any effort to be welcoming. I overheard one of the employees casually mention that she needed her braids redone, which further contributed to the unprofessional environment. I ordered a vegan burger, but was not informed that it would take close to an hour to prepare. Had I known, I would have chosen something else. After waiting a considerable amount of time, I got up twice to inquire about my order. The first time, the staff member couldn't locate my ticket. The second time, she returned and asked me what I had ordered. When I repeated my order, she responded that the vegan burger was being prepared in the back. Additionally, I noticed that none of the kitchen staff were wearing hair nets, and several had long braids hanging down while handling food, which raises hygiene concerns. After my second inquiry, the staff members seemed visibly annoyed, and it felt as though they were speaking negatively about me--which, although I wasn't bothered by personally, is not the kind of customer service anyone should receive. When my food finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best. Unfortunately, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. I decided to check out Marathon Burger after hearing all the hype on social media. The spot has only been open for a month, but it already has quite the following. I went this past Saturday, and I immediately regretted my decision. First off, the line was absurd. It wrapped around the corner, and after waiting for four hours, I finally got my burger... which, to be honest, wasn't even worth the wait. I get it, people are excited about the celebrity backing and the Marathon brand, but the food didn't live up to the hype. The whole operation felt completely unorganized. There was only one cook and one cashier trying to handle a line of over 200 people. It's no wonder the service was so slow. After waiting for hours, I was expecting a well-made burger, but instead, I got a bland, mediocre one. The poblano peppers and an overload of pickles and mustard didn't help at all, it just added to the confusion of flavors. I had made a special request to add lettuce and tomatoes to my Marathon Burger, but of course, they forgot. No lettuce, no tomatoes even after waiting for four hours, you'd think they could at least get that right. Overall, this experience was a nightmare. Marathon Burger clearly doesn't have their act together. The food was lackluster, the service was a mess, and it certainly didn't justify the wait. Rating: 1/5 I really wanted to support this black-owned business, but my experience was a huge disappointment. My family and I stood in line for over 2 hours, and once we finally ordered, it took another hour and a half to receive our food. To make matters worse, the order was wrong, and we had to wait yet another hour for the correct one -- only for it to be wrong AGAIN! When we finally got our food, it was cold, and the blue raspberry lemonade tasted like blue Kool-Aid mixed with lemon -- definitely not what I was expecting. On top of that, the restrooms didn't have sinks to wash your hands, which felt really unsanitary. The chaos at the register made me hesitant about how to pay, as it was unclear who was handling the transactions. I wasn't sure if I should give cash or my card, especially with so many people in the kitchen and around the register. I really wanted this to be a great experience, but unfortunately, it wasn't worth the long drive or the money spent. My experience at Marathon Burger was beyond frustrating. I waited an unbelievable 1.5 hours for my order. Despite trying to get an update, an armed security guard simply stated I had to wait due to a catering order. I watched in disbelief as 20+ customers who arrived and ordered after me got their food, ate, and left while I was still waiting. The lack of accountability and communication was appalling. No staff member bothered to check in or apologize. The security guard's condescending remark about this not being "McDonald's" was ironic, considering the cooks were working at a similar pace, but without any of McDonald's efficiency or organization. After the excessive wait, my food was a complete bust: cold burgers, diluted drinks (prepped too early), and hard, cold fries. This place is severely overhyped and poorly run. For a quality burger and a decent experience, do yourself a favor and go to For The Win down the street. I truly regret my visit and cannot recommend Marathon Burger. Another Victory Lap for The Marathon brand! MARATHON burger! I decided to try their vegan burger along with some fries, and I must say, it's not easy to impress me when it comes to plant-based dishes. However, this one hit the spot perfectly. The flavors were right on, and the spice level was just perfect. I had the chance to visit the restaurant before it officially opened, and the customer service was exceptional. My food arrived in under ten minutes! Since the grand opening, I've heard tales of long lines, and with the number of Nipsey Hussle fans in Los Angeles and beyond, I can only imagine the excitement. It's heartwarming to see fans come together to support and pay tribute to Nipsey. Just a heads up, be prepared to wait a bit. As for the prices, keep in mind this isn't your typical fast-food joint like In-N-Out, especially with its location on Melrose.
