I stopped by Palm & Patties on Third using the inKind app since I had a credit. I ordered the regular cheeseburger and the PNP fries. What I didn't realize when ordering the fries is that you have to pay an upcharge if you actually want the hand-cut fries, bringing the total to $11.25 for fries alone. That's an absurd price point, especially for fries that ended up being bad. As others have already said, this burger is just mid. Honestly, you're better off walking 5-10 minutes to Win-Dow at The Grove and getting a much better burger for less money. The place was completely empty at noon on a Saturday. I was greeted when I walked in, but from there the experience kind of went downhill. I waited about 10 minutes for the food, which was totally fine. I don't mind waiting if the food is worth it. Unfortunately, the burger itself barely tasted like anything. It lacked seasoning and the only real flavor came from the PNP sauce. It's also very small for $8. The fries arrived lukewarm even though I was dining in. They put everything in a to-go bag, which made me feel like they just assumed I wasn't eating there. Apparently they grate cold cheese on top of the fries, which probably would've been great if the fries underneath were actually hot. Maybe. I politely brought the fries back and asked if they could remake them hot. Mind you, I was literally the only customer in the restaurant at the time, aside from what I assume were Uber Eats orders. Instead of remaking them, the guy in the kitchen seemed to just throw the same fries back into the fryer. They brought them back out absolutely destroyed -- hard, overcooked, snapping like matchsticks, completely inedible. I have a feeling even if they have been properly prepared they would not have been good. They just tasted like frozen fries that I can have at home. What made it worse was the attitude. The guy who remade them seemed visibly annoyed that I asked for hot fries in the first place. It honestly felt like, "Oh, you want hot fries? Here you go." Just a bizarre reaction over a very reasonable request. This whole "no seed oil" thing is just a marketing fad. If you're gonna use beef tallow that's fine, but please make the fries be good. Perhaps season them a little bit. Way overpriced for what it is, and the handling of such a simple issue guaranteed I won't be back.

This place is supposed to be a healthy burger joint so the food was honestly pretty bland. The PNP fries' only saving grace was the PNP sauce. Other than that, their fries are like a flavorless version of McD*nald's fries. The burger is cooked like your regular smash burger with cheese, lettuce, pickles, and onions - except there's no flavor. The burger honestly tasted like the concept of a burger - like a figment of my imagination. The service was quick and the staff were super nice.

I do love a good smash burger, so I'm always happy to try the newest on the block! But that just means there's plenty of competition to compare it to. Palms n Patties is trying to stand out with two main factors: organic grass fed beef cooked without seed oils, and their bun which is grilled and flipped. In my experience many restaurants are using organic beef and no seed oils without making it their entire personality. And the flipped bun had little to no impact on the burger experience. I find the anti seed oils trend very interesting, especially when a place like Palms n Patties is trying to be the healthiest burger in LA. Yes, it's a mildly "healthier" fat, but I still found the burger to be greasier than necessary. I opted to try the regular fries, although there is an option to pay an upcharge for "hand cut fries". The table next to us got those and it's the same small portion size but for a whopping $8. I found the fries suffered texturally and all that was going for them was the beef tallow flavor. I enjoyed the taste of the burger and the crispy edges, but it didn't particularly stand out above any of the others. The restaurant itself is nicely remodeled with a very minimalist interior which is a nice environment to eat greasy food. I would try it again if I'm hungry in the area!

I was very excited for Palms n' Patties to finally open in Beverly Grove after watching the construction over the past few months. I went for the grand opening, which was a fun event with a DJ, giveaways, and free burgers. The staff were friendly, the space has a nice minimalist/clean vibe to it, and the location and street parking are great. But as a big fan of smash burgers, I was disappointed by the food. The burger wasn't bad, don't get me wrong. The meat was juicy and had a good outer crisp, the house sauce was decent, and the inverted grilled bun was a fun twist on a usual burger. But it was nothing special, and didn't wow me in the way other LA smash burgers have. It's also on the smaller side. The fries were really what disappointed me. $5.77 for a small side of fries is kind of crazy, especially considering they tasted like they went straight from a freezer bag to the fryer. And offering "organic fresh hand cut fries" as a more expensive option essentially confirms that the regular fries are not fresh or hand cut. I could tell. It's a cool spot, and if I'm in the area I'd be willing to give it another try, but I wasn't particularly impressed with the burger, the fries, or the prices.

My sister and her husband took me out to eat here and OMG! It was definitely 10/10. This was hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. I never thought I would find a burger I liked more than In-N-Out, but this place completely changed my mind. Everything tasted SO fresh and flavorful. The fries are seriously to die for, especially because they cook them in beef tallow!!!! you can really taste the difference. The ambience is also such a vibe. It's cute, cozy, and has a really chill atmosphere that's perfect to go with friends or even just grab takeout. Plus, there's plenty of parking in the front which makes it super convenient. It's self-checkout style, which I actually loved, and the employees are there if you have any questions, everyone was super helpful and friendly. Plus, there's plenty of parking in the front which makes it super convenient. If you're craving the best burger, I totally recommend this place.

I had such high hopes for this place. I appreciate their approach with fallow fried French fries. I like the aesthetic of the storefront & packaging but very disappointed in the French fries. My lettuce double was good, liked the homeade sauces but the fries were cold and reminded me of McDonald's. I placed a pickup order and was there in time to pick but fries tasted old.

Yes, the food is good. But, the service and ambiance are terrible. You enter the restaurant and it's bare and ultra-minimalist. There are no photos of the food, no visual menu, and ONE SINGULAR tablet to order from. All the employees are behind a wall and you're not greeted with any form of customer service whatsoever. They forgot our order twice and we had to remind them (even though we were the only other party in the restaurant). I don't know what this dystopian hamburger spot is trying to be, but it's just not good enough to be acting like that.

Appreciated the simple menu/concept! Fries were as expected - nothing special. The smash burger was good especially with their Pn'P sauce. Ordered through Door Dash and there was buy one get one free for both the fries and grilled smash. Food was good but without the special, a little pricey for what you get - which is unfortunate because high rent prices is probably a big factor for determining pricing

The burger was a delicious greasy mess. The lettuce was weird shredded lettuce though, which isn't bad, but made the messy burger that much messier. The Pn'P Fries were pretty disappointing. Not like they're advertised with the amount of cheese/sauce, so they're not really worth the $10 if I'm not getting what's on the photos on the sidewalk sign. They also never came out to clean a table while we were there, and we had to remind them to give us the drink we ordered, but the minimum suggested tip amount is 18%... What exactly am I tipping for? I'd try the burgers again, but wouldn't get the fries.

The place is simple and straight to the point. The menu has burgers, fries and cheese. Kinda just it....which i love. The service is calm and thorough. All of our questions we answered .. My new number one smash burger on my list!!!!!! I loved every thing.....cool and simple

Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. The hotdog was large and stuck at each end of the bun, probably 3 inches, the chili I liked better than Tommy burgers and overall it was a decent hot dog, but I would love to try fresh at the store one day. Excellent beers on tap for $5-$6 and even an espresso martini for like $14. Chicken sandwich was always on point and also a big fan of the Morrison Trio. Owner was always pleasant and the servers were top notch. I never had an item on the menu that was not delicious. And I tried just about everything on their rotating happy hour menu. I remember they were selling $10 Don Julio 1942 shots one time because it was Cinco de Mayo week. Great times and memories made at this restaurant. Holiday decor was always great to see especially during Halloween. A true loss. Bring it back please! If there are any Dodgers fans out there with a good pregame spot, please reply with recommendations seeing how I do not have one anymore.

The staff was friendly and very attentive. The wings and drinks themselves were super flavorful and I thought I would have more time to enjoy and come back to visit while in town. My partner also tried their burger and fries and decided to stop by the restaurant only to find out they closed a couple of months ago. It was worth the visit when we went there back in December.z The place was cute and it felt comfy.

The food is outstanding, the portions are generous, and the burgers live up to the hype. What makes it even better is that you're not just getting a great meal; you're experiencing a piece of Los Angeles history. Places like this are becoming rare, and Hawkins House of Burgers has earned its legendary status. If you're a local and haven't been here yet, you're missing out. And if you're visiting Los Angeles, put this place on your list.

If you are wanting a better tasting burger with pretty much thr same ingredients, I would suggest The Shack in Playa Del Rey. The fries here got soggy because of how they put them in the bag. It's unfortunate that there is no where to sit and that's why the fries get soggy. Let's now talk about the process. They accidentally messed my order by missing fries. Not the end of the world but in order for them to correct their mistake, I had to take all the food they put in the bag and give it back to them. That means while I waited over 25 minutes for my order, I had to wait longer for them to see what's in the bag to see the mistake. Who is to say that if I was crooked, I would simply remove the fries from the bag. What this ultimately means is that now my family is eating colder food. I didn't even bother for the fries anymore since I didn't want to either have my food get colder or wait another 20 minutes for them to remake all the food. I simply wouldn't go back. I do hope they stay around because we are losing small business but the owners should really reconsider the policy for missing food.
