his was not the ice cream experience I was hoping for. The biggest issue wasn't even the ice cream--it was the overall condition of the store. The bathrooms were noticeably dirty, and seeing bugs on the counter didn't exactly increase my appetite. That's not the first thing you want to notice when ordering dessert. Customer service was also hit-or-miss. One employee (who I assume may have been a manager) was friendly and helpful, but several of the younger employees looked like they would have preferred to be literally anywhere else. Nobody was rude, but there wasn't much energy, enthusiasm, or engagement. As for the ice cream, something seemed off. The product was noticeably soft and melty before we even started eating it. I'm not sure if there was an issue with the cold slab or the freezers, but the texture wasn't what I expect from a place built around hand-mixed ice cream. The vanilla tasted more icy than creamy, and the sweet cream flavor was only a slight improvement. Nothing was completely terrible, but very little was enjoyable. I love marble slab, especially the watuaga location. This location? Not pleasant. They did not scrap the slab where they mix in sonym ice cream had pieces of the previous person ice cream. My strawberry just tasted like cotton candy and whatever else I tasted outside of the strawberry ice cream. It sucked since I Hate cotton candy and that's all I tasted. The ice cream was good as most Marble Slabs are. The store is very clean and they do a good job of decorating cookies. How ever the three girl team are so young and could use some lessons on interactions with customers. It was like they were being punished for working. i've been here a couple of different times to give this store multiple opportunities to have better customer service and each time is exactly the same. A couple of teenagers who look miserable when u walk in, no greeting, they don't even look at you, not one word is spoken the entire time except for them telling you how much your order is. The fruit mix in options also always look like they've been sitting out for way too long, they don't clean the slab and i've even had Reeces pieces mixed into my ice-cream when i didn't ask for it, which would be a HUGE issue if i were to have an allergy issue. read more

Marble Slab has been around so long I find it difficult to review. My first experience with this new concept in ice cream (originally from Houston) was in the 80s in Lincoln Square in Arlington. It was so different from Carvel and Baskin Robbins, ice cream mixed live on a frosty stone, dipped cones, a fresh experience of a food experience so Americana that Norman Rockwell painted it. That was 35 years ago, and I'm sad to say Marble Slab, while still delivering the same delicious product, has not updated itself much. The small is $6, and it's plenty. But, a $6 ice cream still seems like a lot. Sizes are small, medium, and "best value" (most obvious marketing ploy ever?). A large cake is $35. And they sell Great American Cookie Co. cookies in the case. If the store was cleaner, or the decor updated, I think I might have scored a four. But there's just not a lot of love in this concept anymore. Doesn't keep us from coming here a couple times a year. But, every time I'm here I wish they'd give it a polish. read more

Not sure why this store have low stars review. But my experience have been EXCELLENT!!! Ordered a cake here, some girl picked up the phone. I totally forgot to ask her name but it was on October 28th around 2pm! Please give this girl a raise!! So this is my first time ordering cake from them, when you go to the website it's super confusing! They have thousands different choices for toppings, cake, flavor of ice cream, this and that. So I decided to call. This girl picked up, and I kid you not!! She spent 30mnts w me picking everything from flavor, toppings, color of cake, color of icing, color of lettering on it, border and you name it! And not one time I felt like I wasn't important nor she was being annoyed to hang up the phone. that's what you called EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Picked up the cake on the 30th. Been here 3 times since we moved to the area. Always disappointed, staff isn't friendly and most of them act like they are shocked you would come in. They never have a full freezer of choices and for some reason this location does not have the amaretto flavor ever. read more

Service was terrible, I think there were 4 girls working, & they all seemed very inconvenienced to have to help a customer. Not a single greeting, smile or thank you. There are no chimes or bell on the door to draw attention to the front when someone walks in, all employees would disappear to the back anytime there wasn't a customer at the front, so people were left just standing there until someone would come out of the back room. read more

Service: non existent. The teenagers working here seem to be miserable or just plain unhappy. No greeting when you enter the door or when you leave. It was my first visit and the white girl who assisted me looked as confused as I was. Food: I asked for a shake and 2 ice creams. The shake shown in the menu board had Oreo pieces on top and they gave it as plain as they could. My ice cream which was a strawberry caramel cheesecake was poorly made with as little ingredients as possible. The other ice cream was with no mix ins so that's not something I'm considering. Ambiance: great for white people. I'm Hispanic and was not treated with the same enthusiasm as the white folks that entered after me. Sufficient to say this is my first and last time coming here. $17 for something I would've gotten with better taste from chick fil across the street and at least I would've gotten great service. 0/5 I can relate to the awful reviews here because it really is the reality at this place. read more

I'm not one to leave a bad review, but this establishment has poor customer service. I ordered my ice cream cake within the 48 hours needed. My family member went to pick it up for me, showed up early for it and it wasn't ready. Ok, not a problem if that's how it was said, but she got told the order says a specific time for pick up and that's when we will give it to you. She waiting and by the time it was supposed to be ready she gets told the icing is runny and they aren't sure why. So she can just take it as is or pick one that's ready to go. Mind you I ordered the cake because I needed a LARGE which they didnt even make the correct size. Well the manager could care less what the outcome was and didn't try to help find a solution. If my son wasn't so set on an ice cream for his birthday, I would have just taken my business else where so I just made my sister get the runny cake. On Saturday Aug 14 when we arrived at the store at 9:45 PM the "OPEN" sign was turned off, but hours listed on the door stated the store closes at 10:00 PM on Saturday. When we walked in the door the music that was being played was inappropriate. Every other word was the "f" word and then next song was not any better. There were 4-5 staff members working, but there was only 3 working the line. There were 8 people in line. One of the girls had a mask on, but it was worn under her chin. If she is supposed to be wearing the mask, she needs some education on how to properly wear it! At 1000 pm the store closes, but there are still 7 customers eating/finishing their ice cream and one of the staff members decided to turn all the lights off in the store. My husband said" We are still in here" and the lights were turned back on. Then one of the girls kept playing on her phone with gloves on. Then she proceeded to go outside (with same gloves on) walking through the store playing on her phone and the same when she walked back into the store. She never took off the gloves and washed her hands. Then about 1005 (staff cleaning facility) turned off the lights again and one of the girls said "y'all aren't scared of the dark" laughing and walked back behind the counter. The floor was wet and when the staff was informed, they said that the knew about it and have not had the time to take care of it. They were "slammed" prior to us coming in. There was no wet sign put out for the safety of the customers walking thought the line. One of the ladies in another party did not even finish her ice cream in the store after the staff turned off the lights yet again. The service and choice of music was horrible. We will not be returning to this location. Andy's or Cold Stone Creamery will be getting mine and my family's business from now on. read more
