Still great pancakes! Surprised with the updated menu, but still great food and the staff is still as attentive. My mom always asks to come for pancakes here since I introduced her to these so always a must when we get the chance! This time we arrived around 9 a.m. It was a full house, but we still got seated. They already had all the flavor they needed. It was a huge serving of hamburger steak and hash browns.  It could have fed two people! Added mushrooms and onions to the hamburger. Maria Marcia Marcia! I love that they are still operating post Covid. I love that they are located in the gritty part of Tacoma. I love the classic Americana truck stop vibe I get when I walk in. I love the huge portions of breakfast servings. I didn't love that they got my order wrong or really just forgot my order (they did however make up for it). I didn't love that we waited for about an hour for our food to come out. It's an experience and recommend it for that purpose, but as for food...a great place to go after completing a triathlon or marathon type activity because of their elephant size portions, but otherwise the food is average. Wow, this place is popular..though that's my fault for going at 10am on a Saturday...I know better!! When I first pulled up I was wondering if there was going to be anywhere to sit, Turns out, while the restaurant was super busy, pretty much everyone standing outside was waiting on a to-go order. No tables left, but ample room at the bar. After "waiting to be seated" as instructed by the sign I finally decided to ask the waitress (who had yet to acknowledge me) if the bar area was open or if we should wait. She told us it was okay to sit, but didn't seem overly happy about it. While we received menus and coffee quickly, that was the only thing that was quick. It did give me plenty of time to really look around the place, so there's that. Super small, run down, hole-in-the-wall points. To their credit, it was very clear the cleaning actually does get done in this place, even the decor that mot people completely forget about. Once the food order was placed, it was about an hour wait, possibly because a steak was ordered, but come on. The omelette that I had was quite good. Not worth a 1 hour wait good, but I'd eat another one if it came out quickly. Food is simple yet seasoned and I can understand why takeout seems to be really popular here. Found this spot on YELP while searching for breakfast heading to the airport. I am so glad we stopped here! When we got there the line was a little long but you know it's good when people are standing out of the door at this little restaurant. As you enter their is no sitting area inside but while you are standing in line and waiting watching peoples orders come up and you're so hungry you cannot figure out what to order. Where to start? oh with a cup of coffee and a HOT COCOA yes to the whip cream it's delicious! we went for it and ordered the huge omelette WOE 5 people can finish this but we end up taking the rest To Go on the plane ride back to California.
