Marco's Pizza is one of our favorite pizza places in all of Milwaukee. When we moved to the south side 10 years ago we asked our landlord where was a good place to get pizza delivered from and she said hands down the best place is Marco's. Boy was she right and now this place has a permanent spot in my contacts list. Marco's has good meal deals and delivers not only quality pizzas but also a variety of other good food as well. If you haven't yet, try the rollo, it's the same thing as a calzone but it's like a personal sized pocket of pizza deliciousness. Sometimes on the weekends if you want a pizza delivered at a certain time you'll have to call a few hours early, but they just have that many deliveries to make that the drivers get backed up. But they're always available to arrange for pick up orders if you're able to go there and get your pizza. This isn't a restaurant where you dine in. This is a get your food and go somewhere else to enjoy it. There's one window inside the building for you to pick up your food from. The guys who work there have an old school pizzeria mentality, they're very nice but they're fast. They could come off as gruff but really they just have a lot going on. Not bad. I liked the toppings and the crust, didn't have any issues with service like others have. My problem stems from the sauce - wow was it sweet, almost to the point where it was overly sweet. Honestly, it made me kind of nauseous. They also put A LOT on the pizza so it can be overwhelming- especially if you're not used to sweet pizza sauce. Also the "jumbo" mozzarella sticks are not jumbo, in fact they're actually the opposite so please change the name lol. I might come back but I'd ask for light sauce. read more

We have been loyal patrons of Marco's World Famous Pizza since we lived near the location on the northwest side of Milwaukee!! We now frequent this location since it's closer to Greenfield. I have to say for over 20 years the pizza has ALWAYS been Deeeeeeelicious!!!!! The sauce.....Ohhhh myyyyy. Did I mention the sauce. Don't change a thing! It's always on point. We've ordered from this place before and the pizza was excellent. What I didn't care for was the phone service I received, especially as he abruptly hung up as soon as he got my card information, never giving me a time when we'd receive the order. This happened a little bit ago, but I'm still stewing over it, so I'm going to post about how horrible our last experience with Marco's on 27th St was. Long time customers at both the 84th and Lisbon location and the 27th and College location. We ordered a pizza, confirmed the order because it was a "half includes this, half includes that" kind of pie - some of us don't like a topping, one of us is allergic to the other topping. Pizza arrives and it's wrong. We call to tell them, and we were treated with absolute disrespect and rudeness. I'm actually in shock at how the guys on the shift that night treat their customers. This sums it all up - In the rudest tone "so what do you want me to do about it?" We just want the pizza we ordered, we say. Conversation goes like this: "So what do you want me to do about it?" "We just want our pizza - the pizza the way we ordered it. We aren't trying to be difficult." "Well I took the order and I know what you said." "We confirmed the order with you three times to make sure that it was right and...." Guy interrupts us and says, "Fine, I'll remake it", he says and hangs up on us. Then, they call us back to tell us how we were wrong and ordered the pizza incorrectly, they made exactly what we ordered (even though we did explain and confirm the order multiple times) and they will remake the pizza but it's going to be a really long time before it is delivered - no time actually specified - before they bring the new one out. We were literally told, "We don't know when you'll get it so you'll get it when you get it." We had just waited an hour for this wrong pizza. When asked how long might it be there was no answer, but we could go pick it up ourselves if we didn't want to wait. And they also wanted the messed up pizza returned. So we headed off to pick up the remade one with the one they messed up since they wanted it back. We've worked at some name brand pizza places and as servers, hostesses, and bartenders over the years throughout high school, college and after, and I know if we had ever mouthed off to a customer like that we would have been fired. I understand that everyone has an off day, but we had two different phone conversations to discuss the incorrect pizza and talked with two different people at store in those two conversations, and both were ridiculously rude. There is no excuse for that. And there is no reason for it either. There was no respect for us not just as customers but as people. They went out of their way to be rude - They called us back to ridicule us and tell us that we were wrong and they were right. For almost twenty years and at least four hundred pizzas we've ordered between the two locations, we won't be customers of Marco's any longer. read more

The service and quality has gotten to the point where we no longer order food from Marco's. I've been going there for 20 years but my last few experiences will probably be the last. We've picked up pizzas that weren't cooked long enough and had a huge pool of grease in the middle. The last order was this disgusting Marco Rollo, it went in the trash. I just can't see giving it another shot. The last four times I ordered I probably spent $150 and every time the food was horrible. It's really sad this used to be our go to place. read more

While picking up my pizza the employee in the back was mocking and laughing at me for asking a question about my order. I realized upon arrival that I never gave my name for the order. I stated this to an employee, and he stated caller ID gave them my name. I laughed and said oh awesome! This is when the employee Neal( I believe) began laughing at me and mocking my comments. Found myself in the mood for pizza tonight and wanted it to be great, so Marco's "World Famous" Pizza it was! What a great decision.... A classic large ( 22" ) cheese and sausage pizza sets you back $22.50 + tax, so not the cheapest in the world, but you can taste the quality in the cheese, the sauce, the sausage and the crust. It's worth every penny! From the time I placed my order to the time my pizza arrived it took roughly 45 minutes. Not bad at all for a fresh baked pie. The delivery driver couldn't have been any nicer and the guy who took my order was plenty kind as well. Will I order from Marco's again??? You bet. Normally we don't have an issue with Marcos This is ridiculous now I have to wait another 25 minutes for a pizza when I know we called it in. This is just bad service in 20 years it's never been this bad for this place how can you call the pizza in and then when you show up they don't even have you in the system and don't even remember the call!!! Gas prices are high enough as it is you'd think they would have typed up the order but no.make me come back twice wasting time And when I had to go back the second time I had to wait a little bit longer it wasn't ready on top of it Was partly burned. First of all - I thought this was the chain Marcos Pizza. That was an error. First off, the guy was short on the phone. When I went to pick it up, I got a glance into the kitchen area - and it looked dirty - like surfaces needed to be cleaned, dirty fans at dirty windows to move the air. My inner voice said - ew. But me and hubby were hungry and picked up the pizza anyway. This is world famous pizza place from the 1950's - this should be good. Once back at the hotel we looked at the pizza - and it wasn't attractive. Hunger again won. The taste was okay, nothing special. Definitely not worth $25 (large two-topping with cheese bread). The issue I have with Marcos is that their employees are always rude. If the 27th St. location would learn some customer service skills, I would recommend this place to everyone I know. Ordered takeout on a recommendation. I can't believe that I've passed this little gem for years and never stopped or called. This was one of the best pizzas we've had in a very long time. Ordered a 16" Special for pickup. It was ready when they said it would be. The crust was thin and crispy...the sauce a bit sweet, which we liked! Sausage was homemade and incredibly tasty. My boyfriend and I are from out of town and decided to try a new pizza place while we're in Milwaukee. So, we ordered from here. The man who took my order was very rude and sounded annoyed by my call. Besides that, our delivery experience was pretty good. The pizza arrived very quickly and the delivery driver was a very nice man. The pizza was pretty greasy but once we dabbed off the grease with a napkin, it was very good! The pizza was hot, the ranch was cold, and the Pepsi was cold aswell. Overall, this was a good experience! Had been a while since I had a pizza from marcos so figured I'd give it a try. Ordered a small pizza cheese/sausage/mushroom Run close to $22...figured hope it was worth it. Well did smell something burnt in the pick up area'said "oh oh" hope its not my pizza. Well got it hope,opened it up and said "hmmm" Looks decent enough not like my last pizza I had ordered. Well wasn't sure if it was crust was burnt so looked at the bottom of the pizza...well it wasn't burnt burnt but I say it was over cooked.One more minute in the oven and it would of been burnt burnt. We used to rave about Marco's, but not after last night. The delivery driver was 15 minutes early. He was angry that we did not answer the phone. He left and we had to try to chase him down. After we called the restaurant, he returned and was verbally abusive. We later called the restaurant to tell them about the verbal abuse and they were rude too. This is sad I have to leave such a low review for a Pizza I actually enjoy. However, two days ago I asked my wife to call and place an order for pick up. She called on speaker and gives her name along with the order very simple Meal deal #1 asked for pepperoni sausage and extra sauce. Gives her the total then hangs up. Couple minutes later same guy calls her phone and asks if she wanted the pizza and said she didn't say if she did or not. Very confused she tells him yes you just have me the total. He hangs up again. Now here we are two days later same guy calls her phone. I call back immediately since she didn't want to answer it and he says "for pick up or delivery" I tell him. "I just got a call from this number" he says "oh someone must have accidentally hit the retail button" and hangs up. Now.. Amazing food, terrible customer service. They close at 11pm as it's a Friday, the menu states pick up orders are accepted until 25 minutes to close which would be 1035. We call numerous times from 1026 to 1034 pm and the phone does nothing but ring. When they do answer at 1034 they answer "Marco's, we are closed." When we tell them we have been calling for almost the past 10 minutes they reply with "well we are cleaning now." Tell me you don't care about your customers without telling me you don't care about your customers... its sad, the food is good and I was probably averaging going there once a week, and leaving a nice tip each time even though I was picking up. I love Marco's Pizza!! Order at least 3 times a month!! I wasn't to happy with my 16 inch pizza on July 13th Wednesday. Who ever made the pizza did not distribute the ingredients evenly on the pizza. Some edges was just tomato sauce center pieces only little onion or mushroom no meat. I had the Special with Pepperoni and Olives on half. I'm staying at a hotel 1.1 miles away. Called in an order for wings and a meatball sandwich 75 minutes ago and still counting. It's 6:50PM on a Tuesday night and I'm starving. Can't leave a review of food if it's not here! Already called and asked the status and got, "Uhh...Well yeah. It's been over an hour. He should be there." Thanks, guy. Never again. Edit: 6:55PM Driver shows up. Fries are soggy. Chicken wings are not crispy and they're really salty. I ordered a medium sausage/pepperoni pizza for delivery to the hotel at 5:43. I decided to stroll out to the lobby at 6:45 and about the time it took me to pull a chair out to sit down, the driver showed up to the front door. He dropped off the pizza, made sure I was the one that ordered it, shook my hand and took off after I paid him the $19.59 and I added a $5 to the $20 bill. As far as other reviews about the customer service and such, I'm not going to knock their experience, but I called on a busy Friday night. The phone was answered quickly with one word, "Marco's". No fuss, no muss, like a busy pizza place would normally answer. It's not like you have to figure out what you're going to order, right? The sauce is a sweet sauce, which I don't mind. It balanced out the peppery bite of the sausage. The pizza was delivered hot and fresh! This is not Zaffiros or Balistreri's. The pizza has some substance, and is not an overly thin crust. Dimarinis is my favorite pizza in town, but Marcos excels in the world of calzones. This is the best pizza I have had from a delivery place. I can never go back to any other delivery pizza. Marco's has an amazing sauce that tastes like pizza sauce. Real sauce. The one drawback is that they are not careful with credit card information. I vowed to never buy from them again but . . . . The pizza is so good that when it is possible, I just pick up the pizza and pay cash. I'd order from them all the time if my credit card information was kept secure. And I could order more often. Love this place. They're known for the pizza, and they should be, it's delicious. But that doesn't tell the whole story. They offer many sides and appetizers. I frequently order the fried mushrooms, deep fried Mac n cheese, and the jalapeño poppers. Always still crisp, and makes any meal even better. Another thing I love about this place is the family fish meals. 8 pieces of fried cod, a big container of coleslaw, a mountain of fries, and a quart of tartar sauce for $24 bucks. I tried the pizza initially and that failed. I've had way better. The prices lead you to think your food is being cooked with care. Not so true for the S location. These are not a chain but are like franchises. The 'north' location that uses door dash had amazing pizza and Rollos (calzones). I think the south and north should talk cause north location cooked things differently and their pizza has the good curl up pepperoni. Yum! Their Pizza is B rating and the intelligence of their staff is beyond reproach. Call in an order I dare you to ask for garlic bread......you will ALWAYS get their cheese garlic bread....these things taste like garbage and cost 6$ more. When you talk to the staff they won't clearly tell you your total until the card is in their hand. When asked directly about HOW such an error occurred the answer is "Well we only have one garlic bread....I mean garlic sticks....you can't be mad at me for it." Sorry but it's not very good and it's pricey. Pros: Ready in 20 minutes Cons: Sweet sauce. More like marinara than pizza sauce. Not much Oregano, garlic, and generally pretty bland. The crust is too crisp like crackers. I had a veg pizza and everything was chopped. No discernible olive oil on the topping or sauce. If you want a pizza like this go to Dominos or Pizza Hut. This restaurant is featured by the hotel at which I am staying. I called and ordered a pizza and a pasta dish. It arrived within the promised delivery timeframe. There was no flatware with the pasta dish. Assuming it to be an oversight, I called the restaurant and was told "we don't have flatware". I asked how they can not provide utensils with dishes that require them, particularly when delivering to a hotel and simply was told, I'm sorry, So, I've wasted $15 on food that can't be eaten.
