Stopped in on a Tuesday night for a late dinner. Pleasantly surprised by nice decor, friendly staff, and delicious food. Enchiladas were perfect and my steak salad delish. Loco martini after one sip, wow- knew I had to take it easy on that one! liked the fact that despite being crowded you could actually carry on a conversation. Huge plus these days! My husband and I decided to try this with our 2 very good friends. We have been to the one in Hicksville and loved it. This one needs some work. The service was extremely slow. It took me about 25 minutes to get a lemon to put in my water. It took us over 30 minutes to get our food. My friends husband had to send his steak back because it was very rare and he asked for med well. Once we had received all the food it was delicious. If you aren't in a huge rush I would definitely recommend it. Just be prepared to wait a while. I'm hoping they work all the kinks out because it would be a shame to miss out on the delicious food all because the service wasn't that great. read more

Ate here for my wife's birthday. The food was fabulous!! I was surprised how good it was. They had a mariachi band come over to your table and sing! My young son who's not a big eater loved his taco's. The nacho's were really good, my wife still talks about how good they were. It was a little pricey but worth it to enjoy a good meal. Cheap, good food. Tuesday's is advertised as $3 margaritas and I'm not the only one under this impression. When we got the check and saw that the receipt did not mirror this special we brought it up to management. He then proceeded to argue and belittle us when it was not necessary. They also overcharged us on our meals and hoped that we would not catch on. I really enjoyed this place. The interior decoration was so Mexico and had many interesting murals, Frida Kahlo, day of the dead, and all the colorful paint. It was so "fun". Now the entertainment- they had live mariachi! Don't worry they don't come to your table unless you ask. The drinks were really good and authentic, if your a margarita fan, it is toward the large size, pretty presentation- now the food- it is very authentic of Mexico- at least when I was in Cabo San Lucas. Now maybe tourist "authentic " isn't real Mexico however it has a nice flavor - no melted English cheddar - queso fresco- creamy, cheesy deliciousness. I had my favorite, chicken cheese enchiladas (with red sauce) and my partner had - I didn't care I was focused on mine - and don't worry again, there is some for lunch tomorrow so you can relive the goodness- now this is NOT tex mex gourmet with tiny portions and shaved cactus on a deconstructed burrito, but on the way home from the ballgame, day at the beach, early bird, family meal or late night dinner , it's comforting- warm melty cheesy tortillas, beans , rice and really attentive service - you will have a good meal- I did. read more

I enjoy this restaurant so much. As soon as you walk in the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff treats you like they have known you for years. The Latin music is playing and you might want to dance. The aroma of the authentic Mexican cuisine makes you want to try everthing on the menu. At the bar is the sound of the best margaritas being made. Iam a fan of their house margaritas. I have one everytime I go in. First time here, and the last. The decor is fun, people were at the bar and more were coming in, plus a mariachi band. I figured this was a good place, however when we got our food(ordered out) we were greatly disappointed. We both agreed the tamales were too sweet, the mole poblano tasted like one ingredient rather than a blend of 25 and over all our dishes were bland...even the rice and beans! Great neighborhood mexican place with a huge menu and nice atmosphere. The Saturday and Sunday morning brunch is now a frequent stop for us. Unlimited bloody marys or mimosas can be added for a small fee. I've been here at least 20-30 times and haven't had a bad meal yet. read more

Plates look like complete crap. Its all mixed together and it just looks disgusting. Food isnt that good honestly think chipotle is better and thats a reach. Manager disrespects customers as well as employees. Not really a fan. This place is awful. I've given it three chances. First, they have no earthly idea how to make queso fundido. It's as if they just took some cheese and dumped tomato sauce on it. This place disappointed my father-in-law immensely; we tried to go here for our birthday dinner (my husband are my father-in-law are 29 and 59 today, and I just turned 30 two days prior). and my mother-in-law had called at 6:30pm asking about a table for 6; they said there was no wait. Well...we arrive at 6:45pm and they tell us it's a 25 minute wait. So we got drinks that each couple spilt at the bar with chips and salsa while waiting. By 7:45, my father-in-law was getting pretty antsy. Thankfully, my brother-in-law's confident and enterprising girlfriend spoke with the manager, who promised us that the table of 6 was putting on their jackets and that they would be leaving ASAP and then the table would be cleaned and readied. By 7:55, my father-in-law had walked out of the restaurant and said he was going home. The manager ran out my brother-in-law's girlfriend to explain that they were ready to seat us, and that he apologized and would be offering a discount on the bill. My husband then responded that it was too late. But then he followed up with a query asking how much of a discount it would be; the manager said 20%. So some of us headed back in. However my father-in-law said we should leave as we were treated pretty crummy (we should have been told 50 minutes up front). So the margaritas were good (expensive though-no prices listed on the drink menu, but each one cost $11) but yea. Wish we were able to have tried the food. It's a shame. The service is interesting and certainly leaves more to be desired. read more

After waiting quite a while to be seated, it was an even longer wait until a server came to our table. We had to ask for a server to be sent over. After taking our order, our drinks and food arrived quickly. My husband was not asked if he would like a glass for his beer, and had to request one. We both ordered the chicken tacos. The beans and rice were good, but my chicken taco had two (2) big bones in it! The manager just happened to be at the next table, and asked if all was good as he walked by. My husband pointed out the bones in the chicken taco, to which the manager replied 'sorry'. Our server never came back to check on us, if we needed anything, etc. Needless to say, we will not be back. read more

I would not recommend the food at the Hauppauge/Smithtown location. Several of my friends like it here, so I'm not sure if they were having an off night or something but most of what we ordered was inedible. My salad came out with the wrong ingredients. My husband's chicken was rubbery. The sangria was so bad I couldn't drink it. The chicken fingers for my toddler came out very dark and look burnt. When I asked the waitress if they normally look that way, she said they usually are fried very dark, but she kindly offered to bring out a second batch that wasn't fried for as long. The manager delivered that second batch which looked the same. At no point were we demanding or rude, but he was strangely cold and very defensive about that chicken. We left having spent $70+ and barely touched our meals. Super disappointed with our visit and won't be back. read more

Went here for my anniversary because I had seen it the week before and we love Mexican. When we got there I noticed that they had specials posted outside for the whole week. It was Tuesday so there were 2.95 Margaritas, right up my husband's alley! The menu isn't your typical Mexican menu, tacos, enchiladas, etc, though they did have them on the menu (no chopped meat tacos though). I had to ask for a steak knife to go along with my steak from another waitress as our waiter never came back. Long story short, I wasn't impressed with the food. It was ok. I got the bill and it was 111.00. I checked it out and found that they had charged 4.00 for two of the Margaritas and the 3rd one was 7.95. when I questioned our waiter he said, "you ordered happy hour Margaritas". I reminded him that we wanted the Tuesday special Margaritas (regular old Margaritas). He said that he didn't work Tuesdays. (LMAO) I said, "isn't this Tuesday", and he said "Yes". So then he said, "Well what do you want, "Happy hour prices or Tuesday special prices". I said I want Tuesday prices because it was Tuesday!!!! And he said that the 7.95 one was because it was after 7:00 pm but no where did it say that the special expired, it only said after 4:00 pm. He went back changed the bill, I paid and left and will never go back! read more

I want this business to do well...our neighborhood needs a nice local place to go to. I ate in the restaurant last night with 4 others. The decor is wonderful and the service great. My only complaint is there wasn't enough food included with the entrees. After eating chips and our meals we all were still hungry. The soda was $3.95 without free refills and it was horrible tasting. I will give 4 stars just for the fact the place has just opened and has great potential. I will wait a few weeks and try again!
