We have been to the location many times and while everything has always been very good from service to drinks to food. The atmosphere can vary depending on the day, time of the week. We find it much louder in the evenings, especially in the lounge area. We normally order queso with bacon(our personal favorite). We often try different margaritas and flights. The atmosphere was really pretty and I really liked the decor and theme of the restaurant. Visually very pleasing. The staff was really nice and they kept checking in on us every now and then. Honestly, this was the first time I ever tried a Birria quesadilla and it was honestly so delicious. I didn't get a picture of everyone's meal, but I did get a picture of mine and my mother's meal and both of them were so good. Honestly, I would come back here again because the food was good and I love Mexican food so I think that just makes it extra for me. Plus the inside was so pretty. I'm from out of town and came to visit my daughter's family and their newborn baby. Maybe would've been better if we had gone into sit down but...not a great experience and very costly for (2) combo fajitas, extra side of rice, guac, chips and salsa-$84. Good taste but portions are skimpy...I'm glad I ordered an extra grande on the steak. The steak had a lot of gristle and fat in it was very hard to chew. I added an extra side of rice which seemed to be (1) spoonful. Didn't even fill the small container. The chips are tasty and they give you plenty of them, the only problem was...we got the bottom of the barrel the chips were nothing but pieces so no dipping here. I grew up with Tio Juan's. It was a high school haunt for me. This is not the place I used to know and love. I started going to the one in Portsmouth when I moved to the seacoast years ago. I haven't been in a very long time but I was still surprised by the quality of the food. Waitress was nice, restaurant was clean and very quiet for a Saturday night. I didn't take photos as it didn't matter. My taquitos were like a frozen box from the grocery store. The veggie burrito was hard to find buried in a pile of lettuce and sour cream and was a soggy mess. This is not Mexican like it was back in the day. This is cheap bar food. What a shame. A couple of weeks ago, being a glutton for gastrointestinal punishment we ordered Margaritas take out for a little get together with friends - one of which loves Margaritas. Ordered a couple Frajita packs from the catering menu to go. Figured a "Mexican" restaurant can't screw this up. Wrong! I get home to find a single frajita meal and about 2 lbs of rice! We were staying at the hotel that shares the parking lot basically with this restaurant..however it wasn't great. I ordered the food and paid for it but when my mom went across to get the quesadilla I got they told her I didn't pay for it..I sent her a screenshot but they still argued then figured it out. I got the panbaked enchiladas. The meat was dry and over cooked and it was smothered in an awful pickled lime sauce that was the only thing you could taste. It overpowered every other flavor besides pickle. Gross. My wife got the birria tacos which has no flavor at all. The birria dip was basically just grease with no flavor at all. For the money we spent it was definitely not worth it. Taco bell is more authentic. read more

Not great. I go every few weeks with a variety of friends. We like the chips and salsa-that's why I go back. Servus is very hot or miss. Often not great. New Year's Eve server was fantastic. Food is standard. Never great. Never bad. They mess up special requests often...like no cheese or no lettuce or something like that. Be specific with your request and then just Hope it's right. They have changed to electronic handhelds to take orders. This seems to make meals more accurate. If they make a mistake though, they can't fix it. Forgot to give your number so they can add your reward points? Oh well, nothing we can do. You did give the number but they forgot to put it in? Same thing. They can't fix it. Went to Margaritas when staying at the hotel whose parking lot it is in. This is a chain I'm unfamiliar with, and while I grew up eating at chain places, I never go anymore so this was unexpectedly intriguing. The place is decorated exactly as you'd expect a chain Mexican place to be, and had a lot of seating to choose from. Service was good throughput it, except for the very end when our waitress disappeared as we needed the bill. This was just a small lunch ahead of a wedding later that day, so we kept it simple. Would've liked to have had a margarita, but that would've garnered too many dirty looks. Got the loaded skillet nachos with chicken, Mayan shrimp and chicken baby chimis. I did not try the latter as my wife's friend monopolized them. The nachos were just ok. I expected them to be a mess of different ingredients, however surprisingly enough, there weren't many nachos. What was there was soggy from the other ingredients, which was mostly beans. There was a decent amount of chicken at least, but still no nachos man?? We got the Mayan shrimp at our waitress' urging; unfortunately they were a waste of time. They basically consisted of 5 small shrimp, lightly fried, on a bed of salad crap with a few toppings thrown in. Complete waste of money. Got a salad to go for a friend of mine which she said was ok. I suppose this did the job, but it was subpar even for a chain. Then again what do you expect from the parking lot of a hotel. Margs Dover is our go-to place when we want a fun vibe. The staff are friendly and attentive. They always make guests feel welcome. (Taylor, Coty, Mario, and so many other great staff.) Managers are always floating through to make sure guests are happy, which we virtually always are. While the food isn't authentic Mexican, it's consistent, solid, and fresh. Margs is a great atmosphere for a date, for an evening with friends or coworkers, and for our family. Margs is doing a great job maintaining safety during the pandemic, which is why it's our go-to. We never worry about someone sitting too close or being allowed in without a mask, as we have experienced elsewhere. Whoever changed the lounge to self seating clearly has never served tables or knows the flow of a well-runned restaurant. I will not be going back to this location as long as the lounge is "self seating". While waiting in cue for a table other guests had also commiserated that they hated this new change as well. I ordered a very simple meal; chicken enchilada with beans and rice. there actually was a bit of real chicken in it. the rice and beans were terrible. no taste at all! I kept trying them. Nothing. Absolutely no flavor in them. All the plants around the booths were dried and not cared for. Our server was good.
