A respectable wine list is about all this hotel restaurant has going for it. They have good appetizers and excellent salads, but the entrees are overpriced and overrated. I found most of the meats to be fairly dry and stringy and the sauces somewhat bland. For this pricerange, you're far better off with Brasa just down the street. read more

We have been here several times, as we stay @ the Warwick frequently. Breakfast: 2x The first time was pretty decent. I had the Benedict which was good, the wife had french toast that was very nice. The second time I had the American, which was good and came as ordered, the wife was feeling a bit under the weather so ordered oatmeal toast and tea. Our bill was over 40$ but by the menu prices it was ~30. I asked the server and she informed us that there was a new menu, but as I pointed out we were given the old menu. Toast 4$... Tea 4$ Oatmeal 9$. I was not impressed at all. After some negotiation, we were charged the old menu prices. (I see oatmeal is back @ 6$) I think 17$ for oatmeal coffee and toast is somewhat ludicrous. Dinners: We did a SRW awhile back and thought it was a pretty good value for the price, wife had the maple brined pork chop and I had the peppercorn steak, the chop was perhaps a touch overcooked but was still juicy and tasty, and she liked it so much we ordered it again last time we were guests @ the hotel. My steak was nothing to rave about but was cooked to order and the sauce was reasonably tasty. Second dinner. She had the chop, was exactly how we remembered it last year, I wanted fish and chips which was on the room service menu but not the rest. menu, I told our server and the kitchen made me some, fish was nothing to rave about and I am pretty sure the fries were from a bag, but I got my fish and chips. I remember having Northwest Salmon Sweet corn polenta, escarole, tomato-thyme confit, crispy parsnips, balsamic. for dinner one night and it was very good, salmon was cooked nicely and all the elements went together reasonably well. All in all the entrees we had were pretty good and our service was good, the ladies who work the AM shift in particular are very prompt and accommodating. Will I go back? Incredible food here! Poached eggs on spinach and avocado toast was great for breakfast. Calamari with a spicy sweet sauce offset perfectly, and the seafood paella (clams, salmon, shrimp, and mussels was seasoned znd cooked perfectly. Service excellent. read more

I'd actually give it 3.5 stars -- a lot better than A-OK. We went during restaurant week and had the prix-fixe 3-course meal for $28. Service was super friendly and professional: no hovering, dishes were explained well, everything served was done so quickly so the food temperature was hot. What we *LOVED* was the prime rib! A spectacular slice for the price - cooked perfectly, and served with a classic horseradish & sour cream sauce. The caesar salad was fine, and the salmon was cooked just right - but the vegetable/sauce accompanying it were a little salty for my taste. Brasserie Margaux continues to be a sleeper! Certainly off the "Top restaurant" list; for it's in an aging hotel, been there for years, and doesn't have a celebrity "Top Chef" at the helm. However, the over all experience was fantastic. The menu featured a pacific northwest theme including salmon, crab, mussels, and local meats, and the price range hits everyone one's pocket book including a 3 course meal for 30 and entrees between 18 and 34 dollars. We caught BM on a restaurant.com coupon and saved $25 so the whole experience fantastic from beginning to end. First off, unlike most restaurants in downtown Seattle, the complimentary parking is a bonus. We didn't need to drive around the block for hours to locate a spot; the hotel accommodates dining guests for free with parking. We recommend the Valet! Then, when walking past the lobby, we were welcomed by a gracious host. Kudos for this always starts an evening out well. As far as the food, we tried the following: Mussels and Frites: One of the best EVER! A combination of a cream dipping sauce with fried crisps .. amazing! Boulabaise: A toned down seafood feast which featured a tomato / saffron sauce instead of being lost in a marinara like sauce; the flavors were subtle, complimentary, and overall, delicious. A big hit. Margaux Salad: A great opener; featuring goat cheese, apple, and a strong vinegarette. With unlimited bread, this was a great in-between from the Mussels to the main Entrée. I received a $50 restaurant.com gift card so we had to have a total of $100 bill to use it. We thought it would be really good. Boy we were wrong. Some of the staff were judge mental because we brought our kids (who were very well behaved). We didn't understand why because they have a kids menu so they shouldn't have a problem when people bring their kids. Our drinks and bread came out super quick which was nice. We then order our apps and the kids' food. They didn't take long which was nice. The crab cake was good but not great but the salmon duo was awesome. Then our food came out. Huge disappointment. My husband was of course upset by the portion size. I ordered the bouillabaisse which was ok except the clams and shrimp were overcooked to where they were rubbery and my husband ordered the scallops and prawns which half of his scallops were still pretty raw in the middle. The kids chicken and fries were good at least. We do not recommend this restaurant by any means in fact if we ever received another certificate there we would give it away because it was that bad of an experience which sucks because we had such high hopes since everything sounded so good. One star. 3. The food was hit or miss, but more of a miss. Out of the lamb shank, crab cake, rib eye and cheesecake, only the steak was decent. I had a couple bites of my $30 lamb before I pushed it to the side. The waiter did not comment or ask if the food was good. I would not eat here again. THIS PLACE IS WAYYYYY OVERPRICED. But, the wine list is extensive and good. So was the drip coffee. 4. The menu creativity was all over the board. There is no consistant theme so you can pretty much find most staple items. 5. The service was bad. I ordered veggies instead of couscous and never got it. We requested a dessert menu with our coffee and never got it until after our coffee was gone. What a great spot downtown! I hadn't paid much attention to this area until I started attending more and more movies at Cinerama right across the street. Typically there's some strange perception that hotel bars/restaurants aren't that good but this place is pretty neat. After hearing rumblings that the service was slow I was surprised to find that it wasn't. I even learned that there's been an employee and menu overhaul in recent months. Everything that I ordered here as excellent. I highly recommend the omelette that has spinach and goat cheese it was so good. Also, I loved the salmon platter. There was nothing good about my meal. I don't write many reviews but this place deserved 1 star. I travel to Seattle every month. I love all the different dining options. This trip I had stayed at the Warwick. After a long flight, a long day, and problem after problem I decided to hit the hotel restaurant. Seeing it was 3 stars I figured it couldn't be that bad. Ugh. Service was fine. They weren't attentive but they weren't annoying. The star is based only on the bar tender. She was nice and did her job. Didn't go above and beyond. Didn't do a horrible job. Food was horrible. I'll eat anything. It's rare if I hate food but this was gross. I got the chicken fettuccine. The chicken was either rubbery or squishy. Ever have squishy chicken? Ew. The sauce tasted like pure butter mixed with water. It was runny and the flavor was horrible. I'm pretty sure this was from a bag with some water added. It was supposed to be Cajun style so I was hoping for some spice. All it had was this odd pinkish color. Absolutely disgusting. The noodles were cooked fine. I tried to stomach as much as I could since I was hungry and tired after a long trip. Then there was the bread. You can't screw up bread right? I'm guessing it was sour dough. Please let it have been sour dough or else I'm going to be very sick in a few. The bread was sour but moist. It wasn't bad but the odd sour flavor was killing me. I love sour dough bread but I've never had it that sour. The butter was salty. Nothing seemed to taste right. I'd rather have the butter in those little gold wrappers at this point. Overall just a sad experience with nothing really good to say. Will I go there again? Never. I fully expect to have food poisoning because of it. read more

So I got a restaurant.com certificate for this place while I was traveling in Seattle. I must say the service was awesome at this place! The food was very good too. I personally had the pre-fixe special starting with the Caesar salad, maple brined pork chop and the apple tatin. All of my items were very good. The bread they bring to the table is amazing too. I will also say the french onion soup my sis got was supperb! We are always on the hunt for a good french onion soup and that was some damn good onion soup. My kids hated the food. I guess the kid menu dishes needs some attention. You dish was OK nothing special just ok. It's a French Restaurant but the menu not very French. They do offer free 2 hour parking in the Hotel next door about the only plus I got. Great prices on the kids menu but once again my 3 kiddo gave them a thumbs down. Eating here was a positive experience. The restaurant is inside a hotel, and the place is decorated like you'd expect a fancy hotel restaurant to be. Staff were friendly and promptly refilled our water and bread. Speaking of the bread, the first batch was sourdough with sea salt on top, and the second batch was rye. I went to this restaurant with my parents. My dad had a "petit" filet mignon, which was a large slab of meat cooked to a very tender state, with potatoes on the side. My mom had a seafood linguini, which was accompanied by several token spears of asparagus. The linguini was filled with salmon, fish, scallops, shrimp, and other tasty seafood. It also had a lot of creamy sauce. One could say that the dish was more like a very tasty seafood chowder with noodles than a seafood linguini! As for me, I had a lamb pasta dish, which was baked with goat cheese inside. The dish had a delicious flavour, although it had a lot of sauce and gravy. Overall, this was a good solid restaurant. While waiting for a movie at the Seattle Cinerama Theater, my bf and I visited this restaurant to check out their happy hour. Right out front their display advertises 'voted best happy hour in Seattle'...or something along those lines. We ordered 3 appetizers from their happy hour list (they offered order 3 for the price of 2 deal) - bruschetta, hot wings, and hummus. It was cute how they served it on a tiered tray, but the plates were teenie. The bruschetta and hummus were okay, nothing fantastic...I could've made it at home. The hot wings were lame. The menu advertises their own in house wing sauce, but it tasted like it was just doused in Frank's hot sauce. The food was just disappointing and was magnified since they advertised the best happy hour right in front and on a busy street. I fell for it...likely never again though. read more

Everything I mean everything was on point. BAM! here comes the Warm bread and butter then water. the calamari was amazing with the sweet chili sauce. BAM! My water and soda gets replenished. So I just finish with the calamari which didn't stand a chance. Bam! here comes my chicken ceasar salad POPPIN! The chicken was nice and warm... Bam! water and soda right back where it needs to be.. The chicken ceasar salad didnt have a chance either... Bam! here comes the main event my girl ordered the roasted chicken breast WOW! can't believe how delicious this was! everything about this dish was amazing from the caramelized fennel chicken demi-glace to the wild rice.. I was here with 15 people and literally every dish was bad. Bad flavors, bland food, crappy dessert. But then again, it's a hotel restaurant so what can you expect? The server was nice though. We had New Years Eve Dinner at the Margaux while we were staying at the Hotel. We had drinks at the bar while we were waiting on our Reservations. Drinks were ok, but not great. The Food was excellent! My Partner had the Cesar Salad and it was good. I had the French Onion soup, and it was delicious and was made how it suppose to be. We both had the Ribeye steaks that were so tender and very tasty with blue cheese thyme butter, snap peas, and ale-battered onion rings. One of the best steaks we ever had. For desert we had the apple crisp with the cinnamon ice cream and it was so delicious. Only thing we didn't like is the Reservation Manager not being very nice to other guest and employees. Customers do not want to hear gossip and yelling from staff while they are eating. Staff need to be more professional. I would have gave this a higher rating, but the staff brought it down a notch or two. read more

i was very disappointed with the service i received here. the server didn't ask us a single question (how are you?) and just came up to us and said "are you ready to order?". and so we ordered...when our food was ready, it was put on our table and he walked away. no reminding us what we ordered or telling us to "enjoy". our water was not filled once, even though both glasses were empty halfway through our meal. i would not reccomend the lobster-ka-bob's for appetizer. they were battered and deep fried lobster on a stick. not what i was expecting. however, the main course was amazing and delicious. we enjoyed every bit of it, and my husband even ate the vegetables that came with the plate (they were THAT good). read more

It has been years since I have eaten here and I had good memories of meals I had then. I went here after purchasing a Groupon gift certificate. This restaurant is part of the Warwick Hotel and has a cozy bar in the back. We sat in the main dining room at a comfortable table. The staff was very friendly and provided great service. You can definitely feel relaxed while dining here. For dinner, we started with Seared Ahi appetizers $8 which is one of my favorite dishes. They prepare it seared with spices and it had almost a charcoal kind of flavor to the seared spices, but in a good way. Quite yummy I could have eaten 2 plates of this and been satisfied. We then had their French onion soup which I thoroughly enjoyed and it also reminded me of why I like to come there before. The soup is loaded with caramelized onions and baked with cheese. Great comfort food. For our entree, my husband ordered to duck breast and I ordered the Halibut which I will say was average or ok. Probably wouldn't order these dishes again but perhaps it was an off night which is why I gave 4 stars. Overall, we had a pleasant dinner and decided next time we will have several appetizers and soup as those were all quite pleasing. A few friends and I attended last evening's Wine Dinner at the Margaux. The winery was King Estates from Oregon. Chef Zarkades in conjunction with Restaurant Manager, Albie Bjornberg, created absolutely delightful parings of food and wine. From start to finish none of us were disappointed. Worst. Room Service. Food. Ever. I stayed at the Warwick recently. The following review was for the room service at the hotel but Yelp informed me that review was actually for this restaurant which I assume provides the service. Regardless, the hotel bears some responsibility for allowing such poor quality for their guests. Ordered an asiago cheese and tomato sandwich. By the description I was expecting a toasted sandwich on quality bread. What I got was cold, dry, untoasted sandwich consisting of a couple thin slices of cheese freshly peeled from the presliced Costco pack, a couple thin pink slices of tomato, on two stale pieces of bread that looked like they came right out of the plastic Safeway bag. Nothing else - no sauce, mayo, just dry. Oh, and a handful of stale potato chips. All for just $7 plus 18% service fee plus $3 delivery charge plus tax. And the delivery guy went into some random, uninvited spiel about a test he was studying for and how tough school was...obviously pimping for a tip, despite the hefty service and delivery fees. Save your money and walk for a block or two to good food. read more

This restaurant is located in the Warwick Hotel in the Belltown area. It has a French name but the interior is pretty casual with a bar in the background. The service is kind of laid back as well. There was a prix fixe menu offered on the evening we were there so we opted to try it. To start, my husband chose Caesar salad and I had leek/potato soup. Both were excellent and well presented. The main course was grilled Pacific salmon and that was prepared nicely. Dessert was a crème brulee for me and tarte Tatin for him. Both nice desserts and very tasty. My general impression of this restaurant was good but not great. The service was friendly but not real professional. The server was a bit lax in removing soiled plates before placing the desserts in front of us. There was just not enough emphasis on detail and efficiency. There are many excellent restaurants in the city and given that fact, I would probably not return to this one. read more

We came here because we found a certificate for it while in Vegas. It's a cozy little spot downtown. Parking was a little ridiculous (7 floors up. TINY lot. No elevator. WHAT?!) but manageable. I'm not sure if this would be considered fine dining but it definitely is decorated as such. Customer service was nice and friendly. Food was ok. Got the Rib-eye and it was really buttery. I really really enjoyed the French Onion Soup though. The cheese was melted perfectly. All in all, a little pricey but a nice place to eat. read more

They were both amazing, helpful, and very very friendly. Both meals were great! We had drinks at the bar our first evening here and was expensive... But our meals were good and moderately priced. And they made little sense when comparing the other items on the menu. You could put "sides" together for wayyyyy less. We sat for 20 minutes before leaving. They even talked to us. When they sat us they didn't offer us coffee, although they did for the group after us. For the whole 20 minute there was wait staff walking right by us. Also the food is overpriced.
