We used to eat here (pre-COVID) several times a year and it was always really good. The frozen margaritas are amazing and the handmade chips and guacamole were excellent. But I have to say they have surpassed themselves. The quesadillas carnita were AMAZING. So tender, so tasty. Really really great. Husband had taco carnitas- equally outstanding. AVOID THIS PLACE. Sky-high prices, mediocre food, bad service, and small portions. We ordered an enchilada mole and an entree salad with added shrimp. Service was slow. When the luke-warm enchilada arrived it was about half the expected size, drowning in bland mole sauce. The salad was just a small bowl of greens with 5 shrimp. When the check came, the salad was a whopping $27 and the enchilada was $20. When we questioned the price of the tiny salad, the waitress pulled out the menu and recited a few sentences about how the prices were listed. Apparently, she has answered this questions many times and got annoyed at us for asking. To add insult to injury, the credit card bill suggested tips of 20%, 25%, or 30% - as if unusually good service was assumed. I tipped at the low end for average service but should have given ZERO. i've never eaten here before, but i think i'll be making special stops in Armonk to do so in future. the enchiladas de quatro quesos were fantastic (that's all i had). the service was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasant - if the subwoofer was rather a bit loud for my tastes. happily for me, the power blinked twice and took out the stereo each time, so i got respites. :) overall a very pleasant experience that I would be happy to reprise soon. read more

This place was horrible. The service was bad, our waiter was so soft spoken I could hardly hear her. Then we had to order chips because they were not included. 9 dollars for literally a handful of chips. Then we waited for what seemed like 45 minutes. I ordered the chicken tacos and what I got were three very small tacos as to what I consider an appetizer. If you want to have a little amount of food for a lot of money then eat here. In my opinion, this place is not worth eating at, I'm not sure why it got such great reviews. Please don't eat here. read more

WOW! What an awesome spot! Fresh, authentic, and mouthwatering flavors from the guacamole to the homemade salsa verde to the enchiladas. Out of this world. You can tell each dish is lovingly prepared by hand with care--no mass production here. The flautas were as authentic as it gets with tender shredded, seasoned chicken, and queso fresco, but the dish that keeps me coming back are the shrimp enchiladas. Holy moly. The shrimp are succulent, juicy, perfectly seasoned-- and the sauce, oh man! Such a perfect balance of flavors with delicious black beans and Spanish rice prepared the way it's supposed to be--slow-simmered with spices and full of flavor. read more

Great staff and fresh food! Our family enjoys going to Mariachi often as the food is consistently good. The drinks are great too. This is not the kind of place with heavy sauces and processed cheese all over your burritos. Came here for takeout and it was great, came for a dinner and the service was horrible. Not only did we wait 30 minutes for a simple enchilada but we also ordered a side of guacamole... I've never ordered the guacamole before and when it came out it had chips associated with it. When we got the bill instead of it being five dollars it was 14... We told the manager we would never order the guacamole before and that we didn't know this is what it was which was why we ate it she goes well that's not my problem you guys ate it the best I can do is take off your soft drink... As someone in the restaurant industry this is absolutely absurd... Not my fault the waiter didn't have a notepad and wrote down our order... Never coming back read more

My family ate at Mariachi Mexico last night as our Mexican au pair said it was fantastic food....she was 100% right! My kids loved the steak tacos, my wife loved her vegetable and chicken tacos and my enchilada mole was the best I have had...Farmers market salad was also incredibly fresh...Highly recommend. read more

My first time in many a year. Walked in and the restaurant was almost empty. I was about to walk out but quickly realized it was spotless and well appointed: settings placed with attention, with flowers decorating and candles lit. I was greeting with a welcoming but not overwhelming smile by the hostess and decided to give it a try. I was well rewarded. The Margarita was exactly as advertised: "yum". I ordered the steak burrito: excellent with a modern twist. I spoke with the owner who along with her sister took over the restaurant from her father. They have updated the menu and in turn, have taken a courageous risk in updating their father's business. I applaud them and the wonderful dining experience they have provided. Excelente! read more

I do not like writing bad reviews for places but this was absolutely the worst Mexican restaurant I've been to EVER! I am pregnant and had a huge craving for Mexican food and left dissatisfied with my experience here. I had the enchiladas with mole, I left the whole thing, I had to ask for my chips (which mind you it was included with the food) She brought the chips without salsa as if I was going to eat them ALONE. So overpriced for the portion of the food. She was very nice but horrible at being a waiter. 1st and last time I go. Unfortunately I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

Pull up to this place for my birthday dinner with my family, waited about 45 minutes to an hour for our food. The service was very poor, and the food wasn't worth the wait either. We have been here several times and every time we come back there are new and creative menu items. The chef Joana Herrera is a culinary genius! She always picks the freshest ingredients and unique combinations of flavors. It's a fresh and modern take on traditional Mexican classics. I especially enjoyed the fresh home made salsa, the fresh tortillas, the elote (corn with fresh cheese and chilis), the tostadas with a fresh bean sauce and chipotle, and chicken chipotle tacos. Everything was freshly prepared, beautifully plated and topped with house grown herbs from chef's own garden. I also love the cocktails ( I got the watermelon margarita which was the perfect way to cool off after a hot summer day!) I highly recommend this restaurant and we definitely consider this our go to place in town. read more

I found this place overpriced with average food. We had steak tacos and pork carnitas tacos with a side of black beans for $44. The meats were tough but the flavors were good. The black beans had no flavor and needed salt. The atmosphere is nice. I suggest drinking lot a margaritas so you don't notice how much you paid for average food. I won't go back. read more

I have been coming to Mariachi whenever I visit family for about 4 years. It is one of the few restaurants I look forward to eating at. The food is always fresh and delicious (yes it's pricey, but if you're dining in Armonk you should be expecting it), the girls are always friendly and helpful (everyone has bad days, come on!), and I never leave feeling anything, but totally satisfied. Also, the food served here is all family recipes, specifically from the Mexican state of Pueblo, I am unsure what other reviewers define as "traditional" or "authentic" since Mexican cuisine tends to vary between states. It is most definitely better than Taco Bell (seriously?!). My favorites are the guacamole and Mole enchiladas, and the Sunrise Margarita (sangria served in a martini glass with a scoop of frozen margarita and fresh fruit garnish), but everything I've tried is delicious. I do not know how this place stays in business. It was overpriced and over rated. The food was poor and scanty....I am not a big eater but the entree ($14.95) was tiny....I had a taco salad and the shell was the size of a dessert tart ...it had a little lettuce, a little way overcooked zucchini and some canned beans and maybe a piece of mushroom. Nothing else came with the dinner...no chips, no salsa, no rice, no beans, no onions, NOTHING! One person in our group ordered a side of beans....they were right out of a can...and cost $4.00. I guess that the labor involved in opening the beans was worth $3.50. It took an hour to get served and there were no chips or salsa on the table to munch on while we were waiting. All the entrees served at our table were ridiculously small...the cheese quesadilla consisted of four teeny pieces of tortilla with an ounce of cheese...and nothing else on the plate...and that was the bargain offering at $9.95. It was the biggest restaurant rip-off I have ever experienced. Don't go there unless you are real curious...and just look at what people have on their plate(bring strong glasses)and then walk out. Mariachi Mexico is a great, delicious, and quiet place to go for some good Mexican food. The owner even comes out to say "Hi!" to the costumers. The guacamole and house chips are delicious, as are the quesadillas! Totally recommend it! Great staff too, by the way! read more

Mariachi Mexico is by far the best Mexican restaurant I have been to. The food and ingredients are fresh, the guacamole is outstanding, and the margaritas put a smile on your face. More than anything, the staff/service is professional, attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and I highly recommend a visit. read more
