We have been going there for the last few months, I needed to get past my first impressions before writing a review. We use to shop all over Caputo's, Dominick's, Meyer, Woodmans following sales and favorate products. Happily we don't really do that any more, the prices and the exceptional assortment and quality at Mariano's has made us regulars. They have very knowledgeable butchers, and seafood clerks that I would expect to find at a place like Whole Foods. I love that when Shrimp go on sale their not some crappy foreign stuff but Wild American Shrimp at competitive prices. It boils down to one simple thing, I TRUST them. They have everything I need (brands, cuts, veg, hard to find things) and the pricing is affordable. The store is clean they have nice perks like an excellent Bakery, coffee shop, gelato. I love shopping here. It's a great in between from a Whole Foods to a Jewel Osco. They have great prices and a great selection of unhealthy to super healthy foods. They even have a wide spread of meats comparable to Asian markets. It is a great grocery store, especially since it's location is so convenient! read more

I had a good experience at this location. The salad bar was great, loaded with items, and very fresh. Great cooked whole chickens in the deli. Good customer service. Although I found some items to be priced on the high side, others were on the low side. Marianos' offers high quality products and lots of healthy convenience foods. read more

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Discovered this place over the weekend and I will never shop for food at any other Store. Lets see..fresh juice bar, gelato and coffee bAr, salad bar, sushi bar, sandwich station, olive bar, imported cheese, wood burning pizza in the spot plus major selection of organics and a live pianist at a very reasonable price? Not to mention the bakery and florist..oh yeah and they will steam or grill any cut of meat or seafood for free..to top it off it was pouring rain so a friendly employee ran over with a giant umbrella and put away all my bags in the car with a smile. read more

Staying at a nearby hotel and have been to this market 5 times already. What's good: watermelon juice and orange juice. Soups are too salty. Especially the chicken and dumplings. Bakery has lots of choices. There wasn't as much choices in cheese as I'm use too. The sausage and peppers at the hot bar is really good. read more

Great place for donuts! That's all we went in for when we were in the area. Tried several including the maple bacon, fruit loops and a few other specialty. They were all good but the best by far was a delicious crossiant type donut that was one of the best donuts I've had! It's been almost a year and I still think about that donut! I'm not sure of the name but it looked like a crescent moon shape with sugar on the outside and had all these layers of delicious dough. Yum! read more

I love Mariano's!!! The produce and fresh selections are by far the best in the area. I likened it to a cheaper whole foods. There are plenty of choices for restrictive diets. I have always had pleasant experiences with their employees. They follow a similar layout of dominicks since they took over an old location. Good place to get deals on meat, milk, and wine. They have many choices for fresh meals and incredible pastries. Some of the best stuff I go back for is their fresh squeezed OJ, all butter cookies, and old fashioned chicken salad. I go in weekly for their smoothies at the juice bar. read more

Who is this person Rosangela?? The florist department is not hers and she did an AMAZING job putting flowers together for my mother and my aunt. She single handedly assisted me and coordinated 2 beautiful arrangements. I have and exceptional service from Mariano's in the past but this by far has been my best experience. The best grocery store EVER! They literally have everything . The bakery is amazing and has a very large selection. Some items are slightly overpriced. Fruit loop donut for $1... Yes please! The organic produce is reasonable and the sushi is super fresh. The only reason that I'm giving a 4 versus a 5 star is because the customer service experience was disappointing yesterday. The majority of the staff is really nice and friendly but the one lady that helped me yesterday near the deli area was pretty rude and made us feel like we were a burden because we were ordering 4 meals Togo. Maybe she was having a bad day. The cashier ( I think his name was Allen) was probably one of the nicest people ever and you can tell he enjoys his job. Mariano's is absolutely amazing in there customer service. Tonight I stopped at the Hoffman Estates Mariano's and bought a rotisserie chicken. When I got home the chicken that was in the container was all mangled. I called the store and the manager couldn't of been nicer. He personally delivered me a brand-new rotisserie chicken, flowers, a gift card for another chicken, and very sincere apology. I am in awe. So many companies nowadays just don't care about the customer. Mariano's now has my loyalty for life. read more

We bought ground Italian sausage this morning. We opened it up this afternoon and there was an awful smell coming from the package. I packed it back up and went back to the store. When I got to the customer service desk another employee was taking ribs off the counter that were also brought back with a foul smell. That has also happened to us before. The lady behind the customer service desk didn't seem surprised that I was bringing back foul smelling meat. She told the other lady to wait there was another bad meat. She wasn't very apoligetic about it and just replied with I'll have to give you store credit. I was very disappointed. read more

I love their chocolate gelato and fancy cupcakes. I just asked how late they operate their grill station. I have had great purchased steaks that they grill for you. FYI: The grill station is only open 11a-7pm because they need time to clean and sanitize the station. I don't know why they can't do that after they close like most other businesses, and instead take away from their business. They just lost my business tonight with their short hours. Finally the frenzy seems to be tapering down so you can actually browse selections and not get ran over by a horde of people. They offer excellent staff, wonderful soups, a talented bakery, and oddly enough the prices on items were cheaper than what I have paid at "Super Target". This place is awesome!! I will never shop at a Jewel ever again. From the fresh squeezed juices to the amazing sushi bar, this place just does it all great!!! I could write for hours about it, I took a couple people there since discovering it and they are now hooked as well. I would say that this place turned me from a one or twice a month shopper at Jewel to a 3x a week stop at marianos. Always able to try something new and the meat and seafood are great, and they will even cook your meat for you!! Love it Mariano's, keep it up!! read more

Yesterday I purchased ground sirloin to make some burgers for lunch. In the package the meat appeared pink and fresh. When I went to make the patties I discovered that the meat had a covering of fresh meat, but underneath it was brown smelly meat. I returned it for a refund. Naturally it was aggravating having to go all the way back to the store. I didn't "complain" to the manager. The meat was there to see and smell. Nothing was offered for my inconvenience. I didn't want t take any more of my time to explain the problem to a manager. I won't be buying any more meat there. read more

I love this store, the prices are great, it has organic like a whole foods but affordable, I used to shop at two or three stores to get what I needed for my family, this Marianos is a one stop shop. The soup bar, and hot food area is great. The store is clean and doesnt have the "grocery store odor". They will cook your meat while you shop, the deli is great, and they blow through the lines pretty quick when its busy. My family eats healthier now that I shop here. I love this store, and I am glad it came to our neighborhood. P.S. The piano playing makes the experience even better. read more

The place is flat out awesome. I go there with my 2 kids twice a week. They have the carts for kids so we grab the cart and grab them some gelato ice cream for $1.25. Which keeps them busy while I shop. They have a good selection of organics (unlike most stores), and some pretty tasty treats too. read more

Love Mariano's Fresh Market! I'm a huge fan of their juice bar. The smoothies are the real deal here with no added sugars and not overloaded with ice like other places (Jamba Juice etc). The prices are reasonable and I love their store layout. I'm here at least few times a week and has quickly become my family's fav grocery store. Organic selections are good but not extensive (compared to Whole Foods) but nonetheless good. Highly recommended local grocery store! read more

I attempted to buy a 2 inches thick prime rib eye and asked the butcher to cut it into 1inch thick but he could not do it . I did not quite understand why he could not cut it so I said forget it . He suggested I go to prepackaged meat isle I may get some thinner cut meat . What a waste of store butcher . Wholefoods butcher always accommodating compare to yours. so I decided to buy a pre packed Mariano brand rib eye organic grass fed beef , along w/ a PRE brand sirloin grass fed . I cooked them for dinner last night . The Mariano brand was bland, tough did not have a beefy taste I expected from grass fed product. On the other hand the PRE brand sirloin was flavorful , tender, and you can savor distinct flavor of grass fed beef. Its was also cheaper than Mariano brand . Thanks for carrying PRE brand. I will certainly buy it over Mariano brand . read more

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! Stay far away from this place. I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal fatigue, which means my diet is extremely restricted. No gluten, no soy, no dairy and no sugars. I've spent hours upon hours researching brands, grocery stores and everything in between. Needless to say I spent 3 hours at this Mariano's for my first "big" grocery trip. I had registered online, downloaded the app and clipped my coupons to create my grocery list. ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT APPARENTLY THEY DONT HONOR THEM! So I asked for a price match on the items that were in my cart on my phone to the items that I was going to purchase. I even offered to do the work myself because I knew I had savings and I wanted to calculate it correctly (the one girl clearly didn't understand what price matching was.) After much back and forth with 3-4 incredibly unaccommodating, unprofessional and incompetent employees; obviously because I offered 3-4 suggestive work around solutions... and they looked at me like deer's in the headlights. To which one of them even replied with "That's not my problem." (His response to me being there for so long. I left my entire cart. I left empty handed and hungry. I left defeated, astonished angry and disappointed. Also they're AWFUL at restocking. When I was shopping the produce area was abismal, and i saw one guy restocking 1 area for the 3 hours I was there. I tried Mariano's, but this first time was the absolute last time. In being someone who is a leader of business in the retail world. I'm appalled at the lack of common courtesy shown to customers. I'm embarrassed to be pooled in the same genre of being in retail with people like yours; it's a disgrace. Most of all the culture in this store is inadequately trained, and it is noticeable. Get new people. Learn how to handle a business. Run it efficiently. Or it might be easier to just light a match. read more

Certainly this Mariano's is head's above Jewel & Dominicks. This location is certainly not as large, spacious or well laid out as the Arl Hts store, more like the Roscoe Village (Chicago) store near my work (a former Dominicks). Pluses for me: Sale prices are quite competitive (we shop a lot at Valli and Caputo); the produce section carries a lot of organic at good prices. The salad bar, fresh-pack salads and sandwiches are good and well priced. The size of the produce area makes it hard to get carts through (even the mini-sized ones) when crowded, and the area between the fresh foods, deli and bakery counters is like navigating a Formula One road circuit. Overall, prices are reasonable to very good, and certainly far less than Whole Foods (I rate Mariano's like some of the upscale Safeways in other parts of the country, far better than Jewel/Dominicks overall, not as upscale in quality or content (but not as pricey either) as Whole Foods, with a little Trader Joe's thrown in. Minuses: Frozen food section carries some unusual items but is small and limited in selection (except pizza). Frozen fish selection is limited (fresh fish counter is thorough but quite expensive). Salad and soup bars are good (less extensive than Arl Hts location). Many interesting prepared hot and cold lunch and dinner take-aways. Would be good if they expanded into adjoining spaces in the future as the store is always too crowded for it's size. Overall, I'll be a regular but will still also shop Valli, Caputo and the Polish-owned Certi-Saver down Golf Road at Rt. 72 for a lot of the regular produce and ethnic items and non-organic meats. And Wal-Mart for frozen and canned/boxed products for price. read more

What a disappointment. The store layout has all kinds of choke points and obstructions making it hard to walk through. People crowd around the bread area and bakery and it chokes off access to all the other areas.. not only that.. they stick cash registers right in the middle of the aisle.. that have no place to put your purchase down while you reach for your wallet. I literally had to set my items on the floor and hand them to the cashier to hold while i got my stuff out of my pockets. Ridiculous The seating area or "Little Cafe" has so many table and chairs in it you cant walk through it to get to a seat to sit down. The pizza I had was horrible, undercooked and missing ingredients. This is the third pizza i have had there that was disgusting. I have been in here about 15 times and haven't seen the same people working here more than once.. it seems as if they have a huge staff turnover problem. Most of the staff I run into here have no clue what's going on, most don't even know the specifics of the job they are doing. The girl making a panini had to ask someone else of hot use the panini iron. It's laughable how disorganized this store is compare to others. Its very disappointing.. they have a huge consistency problem from store to store. read more

Wow not only great customer service from Mickey but incredibly good food! We ordered the 50 pc chicken and it was very nicely priced at $39! My guests raved and when I told them the price their jaws dropped. The sausage and peppers were great also 5lbs for $25! My aunt raved about the sausage - barely any fat. The order was on time and piping hot! We will no longer be using our go to Franco's but will be using you Mariano's for our future events! Thank you for a great meal! read more
