Kale pistou pizza (asked for no onions): My least favorite dish. We didn't realize it was vegan but as someone who generally likes vegan food, it just lacked flavor and felt very dry overall. The sourdough crust was good, at least. Peach mess dessert: Omg, the star of the show! Such an amazing dessert top to bottom, I loved the mix of textures and flavors. I could eat this every day! It tasted like they might have used mushroom meat, but this takes place as #1 for me because I think it could be a general crowd pleaser for any non-vegetarian. On the contrary, my vegetarian friend did not like it because she found it too dry. 2. Barbacoa - A very, very close second. The only reason it places behind asada is because asada is a classic. Barbacoa has good texture and I could eat a lot of these too. 3. Chorizo - This was the closest to tasting like its actual counterpart. I could eat a bunch of chorizo. Crumbly meat with lots of flavor. 4. Tinga - I'm not as familiar with tinga meat, but the pickled red onion that went with this taco gave it a savory taste. Good to try out but you're not missing out if you choose other flavors. 5. Chicken - Tasted like tofu meat? Not bad - I don't usually pick chicken for taco meat so this might be a personal preference choice. 6. Pastor - Sweet, but did not taste like pastor. Had a little trouble distinguishing between the pastor and the tinga at first, but came to the conclusion the pastor was the one with pineapple on it. I mostly prefer savory meats and while I don't mind the pineapple, the pastor I usually have is not sweet itself. If you like sweet meats, this might be worth getting. 7. Potato - Everybody can skip the potato. It's a fried potato taco, but the potato they use resembles a breakfast hash. The crispiness is nice, but the texture is flaky and the sauce doesn't save it. Even my vegetarian friend was let down by this one even though she had high hopes and usually likes potato tacos. Overall the server told us most of the taco meats were soybean based (not the pastor). I think the chorizo might be falafel, but that's a guess? Ended our meal with the Tres Leches as a dessert. Frosting is buttery and sweet (maybe a little too much frosting) but the cake goes super well with the milk. It sits in a soy milk bath which is a first for me. I wish they had added more soy milk! The menu is huge though. I was very tempted to try other stuff on the menu so I am very open to coming back and trying the breakfast platter (or getting more tacos again, yum).

Thankfully, Sam and Clay were working again, along with some other very nice and accommodating team members. We decided to enjoy a bottle of wine and an appetizer, and as usual, everything was wonderful. What really stood out to us, though, was the genuine hospitality. When we finished, Sam took the time to give us some information about other establishments in the area that we might enjoy. We took her advice, checked a couple of them out, and had a great time. Eventually, we wandered back to George's for dinner and shared the chicken spinachi. Oh my... was it delicious! The salad, rice, pita, and tzatziki were also amazing. I just want to take a moment to say how impressed my wife and I were with Sam and Clay, who were working at the bar. They actually remembered us from our visit last month, which was our first time at this location. That may seem like a small thing, but to us it meant a lot. We were treated like family. Both Sam and Clay have such refreshing personalities, and their kindness and genuine hospitality really made our evening special. Thank you, Sam, Clay, and the entire team, for another awesome experience! If you haven't tried George's Greek Cafe, it's a must. Might well be the coolest *vibe* coffee shop in Long Beach. Funny enough, every time I happened to be in the immediate area, it just happened to be during a Sunday morning "listening session", so I had thought that meant they only play interesting records from their collection on Sunday morning, which is, as it turns out, entirely inaccurate: they are *always* playing records from their large collection of interesting records, just that most Sunday mornings, they do a specially-curated "listening session" where they briefly talk about their selections, then bring up the volume a little and ask people to be quieter, to enjoy the music. Which is pretty neat! I should really go to those more often, instead of just by accident each time. Unusually, they really focus entirely on class drinks, they don't have any zany personalized fancy lattes on their core menu, which I'm totally fine with - their espresso is entirely worth drinking on their own. I'm also very happy with their pastry selection, which they get from Colossus - their brownies are very good, *very* affordable, and go spectacularly with espresso, so that's a draw in and of itself. The only thing I couldn't get quite as much behind - I was so excited when they announced a couple months ago that they'd just started a new brunch menu, to include breakfast tacos. Breakfast tacos are bomb, something restaurants in California haven't really seemed to have caught onto, so I went there immediately to try them. Anyway, they're pretty tasty, but not *extraordinary*, and for $9, they aren't particularly large. It's also not a very large space, either so it's a lot easier finding a comfortable seat to quickly drink a coffee with a bit of brownie, than it was that time, finding a comfortable spot to eat a proper meal. Given I was eating a proper meal, though, I did also try their green iced tea to go with it, which I can confirm is also delicious, super refreshing, and was at the time, a very reasonable $3.50. Went great with the tacos, for sure, though I don't think I'd go back for either of them. I would definitely stop by for coffee and a brownie any time I was in the area, though, and I really *should* remember to intentionally make it to more of their Sunday morning sessions.

Instead of asking questions (the woman gave me a statement TWICE expecting an explanation--please understand the difference between a question and a statement) apologizing, or trying to help resolve the problem, the employee repeatedly responded with: "So you had a breakfast sandwich and it wasn't the right one." It felt dismissive and uninterested, as though the situation was being minimized instead of addressed professionally. I understand mistakes happen in restaurants. (I work in 2 restaurants- one in Seal Beach and one in Long Beach) What matters is how customers are treated afterward. A simple apology, clarification, or attempt to make it right would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, the customer.  service I experienced made the situation much worse.
