Awful food just horrible. A place like this should take more pride in the food they serve. Just terrible

beautiful atmosphere. great views. great layout and decor. staff is very friendly. ive eaten here a few and have had burger, filet, clams, lobster. all very good. the only downfal (if anybody cares about this stuff) is that the music is awful. i personally think music sets a tone and subtly keeps you there having fun. this place needs less of a 1985 HS dance setlist. but thats nitpicking. overall this place is really great. read more

Ordered "Fresh Flounder" sandwich. They should have called it "flounder fingers" or "scraps of flounder." It was coated so heavily that I kept saying "where's the fish"? The filet was so thin it reminded me of little scraps of fish. The fish is masked with the breading. Disgusting. read more

We were a large party on an overcast Thursday evening and we were pleasantly surprised by the food, service, and atmosphere. Ordered the grilled octopus, mussels fra diavolo, oysters, some fish specials and the linguine with clams (pasta overcooked but tasty). It's a beautiful space. Great job Marina Grille! This restaurant was very accommodating of both me and my sister who has a severe allergy. The food was out if this world and it quickly became my favorite place to go in Wilmington to eat. My husband and I were just there for the yankee game on last friday It was so Fun! I had the best key lime martini!!!!!

You walk into the restaurant and find an enormous open dining room with garage door windows that open to the outside patio. You can see the open kitchen from every seat in the room. Hostess could be a but more friendly for a brand new restaurant. Service was prompt, courteous and timely. I started with a Tropical Meltdown that was made with very little liquor and a ton of pineapple juice. I ordered the New England clam chowder which was a bit on the unseasoned side and not as thick as I would have preferred. I also had the crab & spinach fondue. It had a bite to it from the jalapeños that were not in it's description but was good nonetheless. I would have liked for the bread that was served with the fondue to not be toasted. My husband had the fish & chips. The fish had a great batter and was fried perfectly. The chips or "fries" were AMAZING! However, the portion of fries to fish left him wanting for more. Overall a good experience. I am sure with time their dishes will be perfected. A fantastic place to come year round for cocktails (hopefully with more alcohol) and snacks. read more

My friends and I were so excited to finally have dinner at the Marina Grille! The hostess told us the wait was 45 mins. We expected so and all went to have a drink at the outside bar. We did not even get our drinks and our buzzer went off to be seated. The hostess said if we don't sit within 10 mins we will loose our table. Once seated our waitress took our order quickly. We shared 4 apps between the 8 of us and all ordered an entree. The food was sooo horrible that we barely ate it!! Not one of the 12 items we ordered was good. Note...we were all starving!! We paid the bill...left our food on the table and went to another restaurant. read more

I had the bbq burger that came with cheese, crispy onions, bbq sauce and I added bacon. This burger was a blend of short rib, sirloin and Chuck. Definitely the best burger I have had on the Jersey shore. I would drive out of my way for this kind of burger. My partner had the chicken cordon bleu which was very crispy and delicious. Sam, our waiter was very attentive and available throughout our lunch. We will be back! read more

This place has potential but they have a lot to work on. Great location and space. But, possibly too big. The bar area is not good for dining, but that's exactly where they seated my party of 7 on both time we went there for dinner. We were seated right near the band...not conducive for dinner conversation. Food is mediocre. Pizza was under cooked; grilled chicken was cold; apricot chicken was drowning in sauce; breaded shrimp was dry and fried at the same time; the wings were disappointing. The bar is a mess. Seems like the bartenders think that they are responsible only to serve drinks. They don't remove empty glass or wipe down the bar. It got progressively more disgusting over the 90 minutes we sat there waiting for our table. Also, while there we had the great fortune of witnessing three young girls get thrown out for snorting cocaine in the bathroom. Good times. No need to go there again. read more

The service at the bar was horrendous. We had a party of 3 at the outdoor bar and also for dinner. The bartender was too lazy to get a bottle of a certain vodka brand from the other bar after he ran out of it. They didn't make drinks properly and would get mad if you asked for a lemon/lime added to your drink. Not once did they ask if everything was ok or if we needed another drink..They even messed up our bill at the end of the night, overcharging us for drinks we never ordered. Basically they were rude, unpleasant, and we couldn't believe such a nice place had incredibly poor service like this. read more

Fortunately, we did not have a negative experience with food or service as some of the other reviewers. Food was great and our server (Brianne) was just the right amount of attentiveness. Want to shout to the world to try the Corn Fritters, they were outstanding! However, be warned.... as we left the restaurant, our experience declined as we found a parking ticket on our windshield (as well as saw many other cars with one). Apparently, you are not allowed to back into an angled parking spot. The ticket is for $45.00 "Angle Parking Head On". Not a sign in sight to let you know that is an ordinance. I will be calling both the township and restaurant to complain about this sneaky money making scheme. We actually parked very far down in the Marina and walked quite a bit because we wanted to be sure we were in a legal parking space as we saw police walking the parking lot ticketing people. Be warned... pull head on in angled spots! So much for a town making a visitor feel welcome! Plenty of other beach towns with good restaurants to visit. read more

We hung out at the outside Tiki Bar on Friday night. They had a good menu of pizza and drink specials. Pizza was similar to Porta nothing special this a small pie. Bartenders are very attentive and likeable. Only problem I had was there was no music outside. They had speakers in the tiki hut but you couldn't hear anything. read more

Giving this place one out of 5 stars because we live local and have given this place MANY chances and one out of 5 times is a good experience. The Friday of Memorial Day weekend and we are sitting at the inside bar at 4 pm. The bartender took the drink order of the couple to our left and never went back to them. We had to push away the dishes that were left by the prior customers and clean our own area with the bar rag that customers were passing around. We ordered draft beers and said we wanted to order food (got our menus from the couple to our right). Bartender never came back to us. Finally about 10 minutes later a manager came to help and took our food order and the drink order of the couple to our left. Our food order came and our beers were empty. At this point it was after 5 pm and additional staff started. We seriously waited 10 minutes with our empty beers for a bartender to acknowledge us, take our empty plates and get us another beer. Great atmosphere, but everything else about this place is sub par. It's the summer and they better step it up! read more

I would not recommend eating here. The fish and chips I ordered was terrible. Meat was dry and tasteless. Also, the breading was soggy. So I ordered the ribs instead. Ribs weren't much better. It was loaded with cheap sauce and nothing to brag about. The quality of the food was not worth the price. Inexperienced hostesses confused us right from beginning. Telling us that is was a 30 minute wait for our table only to be escorted to a table? Our server was helpful though. I will not be returning. read more

Just don't take a Uber there... The Marina Grille has local Belmar police there to ticket Uber drivers that drop you off or too Pick Up... You need to drive your own car or take a taxi... read more

absolutely awesome. we had the white pizza, and we had come in at exactly 10:58. the kitchen closed at 11:00, something i had no idea about (my fault, i know!), but we ordered and the pizza was still fantastic. the aesthetic was modern and so nice, and the atmosphere was really nice. definitely coming back soon! read more

The view is gorgeous. The building itself is beautiful. When I walked in, I thought this would be somewhere I would go often. However, I have been there twice on weekdays, and I am unimpressed. We waited at an indoor bar for over ten minutes, and we were never acknowledged by staff. After being ignored, we moved to one of their outdoor bars, and waited a long time before ordering our drinks. We were not offered menus, and when we asked for them, they never came. Many dirty dishes and discarded cups were abandoned in several locations, and stacked on railings, and nobody was walking around cleaning up. The location is their best feature, but the garbage definitely deterred from the view. A separate visit at lunchtime had better service and less mess, but the quality of the food did not match the prices. I do understand they are relatively new, but having given them a couple chances to impress, I am disappointed. It is crowded due to the location and people wanting to check out this new place, but that can only take them so far. I understand these owners have other successful establishments, so I hope they are able to improve on Marina Grille over time so the entire experience matches the beauty of this location. read more

Normally I'm not one to complain about a restaurant on yelp but this place needs to work out their kinks. The appetizer and house salad were absolutely delicious. We ordered the wings and ahi tuna nachos. But, our main dishes for half of our group wasn't up to par. Especially for the amount they were charging us. I ordered the Reef and Beef which is filet mignon and a crab cake with mashed potatoes. I asked for my filet mignon to be medium. When I received my meal everything was cold, the appearance was lacking and my meat came out very well done. As for the other two in the group who ordered the ahi tuna, they both also got well done ahi tuna. Mind you, ahi tuna supposed to be seared and pink/red in the middle. They received their meals and it was cooked through and through. After complaining to management that our food wasn't up to par we were able to send our food back and have it cooked to our liking. The second time around was night and day. As if it wasn't the same restaurant. I would wait to try this place until they get their act together! Overall, the food was good once it was cooked the way it should have been. read more

First off it was a Saturday night and this place was packed . There is no valet parking, I had to park on 8th ave under the bridge a good 10 minute walk.We got there at 6pm and were told it was a two hour wait. We went to the bar to get a drink which took 20 minutes to accomplish. Seating for people waiting outside was very limit we had to stand the whole time. When we finally got a table it was after 8pm. we ordered appetizer's, oysters and grilled octopus which were pretty good. Our main meals came out everything looked like and tasted like it was previously frozen from the flounder to the scallops the fish sandwich my spaghetti and clams. Bland, no flavor just blah. I get the bill and was charged for two extra octopus appy's and was not happy. when I went to go get my car I asked the employee working out front if there was a shuttle to get me car, I was greeted with an attitude then a cop who was next to him started giving me lip too. wow I was starting to get pissed. Needless to say I will never going back, nice looking place but there are much better place's down the shore that are a lot less of a hassle. read more

Parking not plentiful & spaces are tight. Enter into a NY style lounge with couches & fireplace, very nice. Hostess needs your cell # to seat your party. 7 people, will take 30 minutes. Fine. Walk through the next area where people are sitting at tables in the center of the room eating, and along the walls. Not the best place to sit. However, upon entering the main dining room, one can barely hear themselves. Loud loud loud, music playing, jam packed with tables, servers/bus people/managers scurrying all over. Wait at least 5 minutes for a bartender to even look at us. Drink prices moderate. Step outside to get some air & quiet. Not open, too cold but lots of people milling around. Sit at a table & wait 50 minutes. Sit in a booth, try to place our order but the key word is WHAT because the server can't hear us, again music & crowd. Tastefully decorated. Food not worth it. Pasta tasted awful, as if cooked in cleaning fluid. Fra diablo sauce awful. Crab dip appetizer very good. Service was good, given the chaos inside. Would only return to sit outside for an appetizer. Overpriced dinners & the food is just not that good, same as 9th Ave Pier & Anchor. Cant' imagine what this tourist trap will look like over 4th of July weekend. I'll stay with a local, smaller place with better food. read more
