I really wanted to enjoy my experience at Mimosa House, but unfortunately, it missed the mark. The biggest issue was the service. I've never had a server spill on me twice during the same meal--and after the second spill, she handed me a towel to clean myself up. There was little acknowledgment or accountability, which made an already awkward situation even more disappointing. We also ordered the Mimosa Flight Bouquet, but none of the flavors were identified when it arrived. We were left guessing which mimosa was which, which took away from what should have been a fun experience. I initially ordered the roasted rosemary potatoes, but they were undercooked and overloaded with large slices of bell peppers and onions. I decided to order something else, but then the waitress forgot to bring the juice that accompanies the mimosa. She brought the champagne, but no juice. We reminded her, and it still took additional time to receive it. Overall, the food was just okay. Out of our party of six: * The El Dorado omelet was good, although it was served warm rather than hot. * The bacon and ham skillet was enjoyed. * The chorizo maple skillet reminded me of a McDonald's breakfast with eggs--not something I'd order again. In my experience service has greatly improved. It's still the same great Mimosa's, Brooke who was good manager has moved, Haley is the new manager and it seems runs a tight ship. Wait times seem to have reduced even with it quite busy. I really like the Folsom omelet and it didn't disappoint. I have also had the lemon blueberry pancakes and they were amazing! I got the Mom's morning tacos and a mimosa. The mimosa was very good - not too strongly flavored like syrup with just the right amount of bubbles. My morning tacos were fantastic too! Very disappointed in the service we received from here. It was 30 minutes after the adults got their meal that my 2 year old got her meal. Everyone was finished eating at this point. It took 40 minutes for my oldest to get French toast and AN HOUR FOR MY OTHER DAUGHTER TO GET A MICKEY MOUSE PANCAKE. Completely unacceptable service. Yet they kept seating more and more people. I got the New York Steak and Eggs. Perfect breakfast on a cold rainy morning. Steak was tender and cooked perfectly. Medium rare. Most places don't get it right. They did. My husband and 9yo daughter went to breakfast this morning, returning for the second time bc my husband loved their OCEAN Omelette he had their last Sunday. He noticed that the omelette only had salmon in it. He brought this to the servers attention and she agreed it was missing the other seafood. She said she would tell her manager. She came back to the table stating the manager wouldn't come to the table and said not to adjust the bill. The salmon omelette is $20.00 and the Ocean seafood is $26.00. We went for brunch on Mother's Day, and yes, I know it is a very busy day. But this was unbelievable, how ill prepared they were for this holiday. We waited for our food to arrive for 1 hour and 20 minutes after being seated.- We noticed that people that came in after us, were being served. When I mentioned that to Spencer, our waiter, he gave me a little attitude, and then immediately our food showed up. Unfortunately, it had clearly been sitting there for awhile, because it was luke warm, and the cheese on my omelet had hardened. The toast was not toasted. Asked for jam and never got it. In the meantime, our waiter was standing at the register exhibiting drama to another server, complaining and wiping his brow (could have been getting my jam. We got charged for a fruit bowl that never came. My cousin's CaliBenedict was cold I requested butter for my toast that wasn't toasted, and was told that the bread already had butter on it, so I had to request it again, and was brought literally a teaspoon of butter. I suggest management look at some of their employees. Some of these young servers had incredible hustle, but unfortunately a couple of the young men were under qualified to handle food service. The cons- The food. I ordered the crab benedict. The crab cakes were 25% IMITATION crab meat and 75% breadcrumbs. Crunchy on the outside but a very poor excuse for a crab cake. My husband's chicken fried steak burrito was nothing special - basically a normal breakfast burrito with gravy on the outside. Didn't come with anything on the side. I went last week for the first time in Rocklin with my son. We both had the pancake combo breakfast and we loved it! Mine was plain and he had strawberry pancakes. Eggs were fine and the sausage and bacon were both good. Only downer was the coffee was pretty good, and only CoffeMate creamers. I went back with my mom yesterday. She was very excited about the Hawaiian breakfast selections so we got the Wailea with rice, eggs, and Portuguese sausage. We decided to split it and one side pancake. Overall it was good- but the rice was basmati and it was more of a fried rice plate. We wouldn't get it again, although it wasn't bad, it wasn't Hawaiian. The pancake was great, but pretty steep at $11 for one. My mom wished they had a seniors section of the menu and just wanted to order one egg- it was $5. Overall we really liked it and will be back. Solid meal with tons of food and drink options! Highly recommend the Country Benny if you're into fresh biscuits and gravy. We came here on MLK Day about 830am and it wasn't busy at all. Even the staff was surprised how slow it was but it got really busy towards the end of our meal about an hour later. Once we ordered our food and drinks, we were served fairly quickly but again, it was slow at that point so no surprise there. Staff was eager to get our order and offered ketchup and/or hot sauce when we were served, but none of the 3 people who served us even asked if I wanted another coffee after finishing the first one. I got more of the vibe of wanting to get us out quick vs wanting to serve and be friendly. The only conversation that happened was when I was stuck on what to pick and my wife commented about how slow it was at the time, and then when I asked what a good meat skillet option would be. The food was spot on. The regular toasties area great starting option that can be used as your sweet part of your meal. Normally we have trouble deciding on a savory and sweet plate to share, so having an appetizer that is sweet works well for us. Going back to the service, we were served the toasties first and then later on after receiving our meals, we were asked if we wanted syrup for the toasties. That took them to the next level so I don't understand why we weren't served it with syrup or asked atthat point if we wanted some. For our main courses, I had the Jalisco Skillet. It had tasty carnitas and potatoes, but the eggs were inconsistent. I asked for over medium and received 1 correct, 1 over easy with whites not fully done, and 1 yolk that was cooked through. Even so, it was a solid dish. My wife had the Country Benny and my 1 bite had me wishing I had that instead. Highly recommend it! In summary, it was a great breakfast but I have to dock a star for the service. We'll definitely give it a go again though. read more
