Today I spent the afternoon at Mariposa, the signature restaurant inside the legendary Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills, a place where fashion, heritage, and cuisine come together in the most timeless, quietly luxurious way. What many don't realize is that Neiman Marcus has been home to iconic dining for over 70 years. In 1953, the Dallas flagship opened The Zodiac Room, a white-tablecloth, Tiffany-blue jewel box that became the epicenter for "ladies who lunch" and the most stylish clientele in the city. And in 1955, a ritual began that continues to this day: fresh, oven-to-table popovers with warm strawberry butter, created by Helen Corbitt for cofounder Stanley Marcus. A gesture of hospitality that has become forever synonymous with the Neiman Marcus dining experience. At Mariposa Beverly Hills, that history is honored beautifully and today's tasting felt like the perfect blend of tradition and modern refinement. We began with the Wagyu Beef Dumplings, glazed in a sesame-chili sauce that is as savory as it is addictive. We also enjoyed the Chef's Signature Salad, made with baby gem lettuce, crispy artichoke, herbed fromage blanc, candied walnuts, and a golden raisin-verjus vinaigrette, fresh, textural, and beautifully balanced. The vibrant Tuna & Mango Tartare followed, dressed in a bright hibiscus ponzu, paired with taro root chips and a crisp side salad. The beloved Rigatoni with Pink Vodka Sauce, basil, and a cloud of whipped ricotta was pure comfort, velvety, aromatic, and absolutely heavenly. One of the highlights was the Mexican Striped Bass, seasoned with makrut lime leaf salt and served over sautéed Napa cabbage, carrots, scallions, Thai basil, garlic, and ginger in a Thai-inspired coconut-lemongrass broth, delicate, fragrant, and unforgettable. And to finish, a silky Citrus + Honey Posset, Mariposa's seasonal special, infused with calamansi, orange, honey, strawberry purée, and topped with fresh berries. A quiet, elegant finale. A special thank you to Chef Charles Voudouris, whose extraordinary background spans world-renowned kitchens including the iconic Versace Mansion (Casa Casuarina) in Miami and whose Greek culinary roots and global training bring both soul and sophistication to Mariposa. His dedication to quality, creativity, and genuine hospitality is felt in every dish, making the Mariposa experience truly exceptional. Mariposa Beverly Hills is the epitome of laid-back luxe: impeccable service, serene dining, and that signature Neiman Marcus hospitality that feels both historic and forward-thinking. And yes, it is absolutely a hidden gem for hosting intimate luncheons and elegant events, tucked discreetly within the heart of the store. If you haven't experienced Mariposa yet, consider this your invitation. #2 I experienced the perfect lunch in partnership with and invited by The Beverly Hills Journal at Mariposa, the signature restaurant inside the legendary Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills, a space where fashion, heritage, and cuisine meet in the most quietly luxurious way. Amazing cocktails!! The espresso martini was fabulous a must order. If you love popovers they are to die for here. Truffle fries a crowd pleaser with our group. Lobster bisque was a bit to heavy and just ok. Service was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself was more on the quiet & peaceful side.

*There's a New Sheriff in BH and His Name is Chef Charles* Had the great pleasure & opportunity to have lunch here again with my good ole pal/neighbor and sample Mariposa's new Summer Menu. Made a reservation and requested the same table/booth in Dannon's section because that's how I roll when things are done right the first time -- cross your fingers and hope for a repeat performance. The moment we stepped inside Mariposa's beautiful dining room, we were warmly greeted by their new GM who knew right away who I was...we struck up a nice conversation...and shown to our table. Dannon appeared to say hello and thanked us for coming back...and then Mr Popover Man joined the party to serve us their famous freshly made warm popovers with strawberry butter. While we were indulging in our savory treats, Chef Charles come by to introduce himself and explain the new Summer Menu. In the back of my mind, I kept thinking about their amazing Lobster Club Sandwich with the Truffle French Fries, I had enjoyed so much for lunch on my previous visit. But the more Chef Charles explained the signature dishes & salads and his culinary past, I knew the right thing to do was allow him to surprise us and choose our 4-course lunch. He began our meal with one of the best vegan soups I've had in a long time -- Cream of Leek soup with corn chowder. It was so delicious & refreshing and an excellent way to start things off. Generally, I don't eat soup as an appetizer at lunch, but this cup of vegan comfort food was so good yet subtle, I didn't want it to end. Then, not one but TWO of the most beautiful & gigantic salads were bestowed upon us. Now don't get me wrong, I love a large portion just as much as anyone, but these plates of green goddesses were like meals in itself...and when I joking told our waiter Dannon that one salad was more than enough (especially just eaten the soup & entrees still coming) he laughed & agreed...and said Chef couldn't decide which salad to share so he selected two different types...and you can always take home what we can't finish. Little Gem Salad with Crispy Artichokes: GOLDEN RAISIN-VERJUS VINAIGRETTE, HERBED FROMAGE BLANC, CANDIED WALNUTS (you had me at crispy artichokes) Excellente. I could eat this daily. The herbed fromage blanc was so nice & creamy and paired perfectly with the candied walnuts and crispy artichokes. The salad dressing was insanely good. 1924 Caesar Salad ROMAINE HEARTS, ROASTED CHERRY TOMATOES, GARLIC CROUTONS, PARMIGIANO-REGGIANO, 1924 CAESAR DRESSING I'm not big on Caesar Salads, but this simple big bad boy was cold, crisp and delicious. And when I inquired about the name of the salad, I was told that 1924 was apparently the 1st year a Caesar Salad was introduced. Rosie's Organic Chicken Breast TRI-COLOR FINGERLING POTATOES, SAUTÉED BROCCOLINI, CARAMELIZED CIPPOLINI ONIONS, MADEIRA CHICKEN JUS Everything was perfecto...especially liked the Madeira jus...and would order it again. Pan Seared Salmon TRUFFLE PEA PURÉE, ASPARAGUS, HARICOT VERTS, SHAVED BABY FENNEL Everything was Fantastico and would order it again & again because I'm a sucker for a great piece of fresh pan seared fish in truffle pea purée. Sorbet Dual ULI'S SORBET: CHOCOLATE | PASSIONFRUIT Chocolate & Passionfruit go together in perfect tastebud harmony to cleanse the palate. As usual, everything was outstanding from beginning to end. Thank you Chef Charles for a memorable dining experience. I usually don't eat lunches like this -- I don't usually eat like this for dinner ;) I could go on & on about their high-quality food & top-notch service, but you'll just have to read my previous review. I understand Mariposa is only open Tuesday thru Saturday from 11am-3pm. But if you're ever craving a gourmet culinary experience for lunch...or power-lunch...or even for just an awesome salad....I highly recommend Mariposa...and repeat visits to sample more of their award winning menu and cool friendly vibes.

It's a tradition for me and my child to end the school year since 1st grade at Neiman Marcus's Mariposa. We like the ambiance, the food and the service. We took them and their Fiancé for lunch and to see how it has changed since the renovation. They always start you off with popovers with their delicious strawberry butter and some chicken broth. We had Truffle Fries and Tuna Tartar to start. We also had Lobster Bisque and their famous Lobster Club.

I recently had lunch in the beautiful Neman Marcus Mariposa café. The experience was simply divine. The manager David greeted me warmly & seated me at a wonderful table. My server Edwin swapped the chicken for lobster in my Ceaser salad. Mariposa serves my favorite Dammann French tea. Everything was scrumptious, especially the popovers they bring instead of bread. The place is superb. I felt transported to Place des Vosges where I last drank the same tea on one of the most famous squares in Paris. The mothers & daughters at the table next to me said their fish was fantastic. But the very best thing at Mariposa was the service. The place is very well managed & the team returns you of a forgotten era of very refined understated elegance. Who doesn't need more of that in their life?

My mom and aunt took me here for my birthday lunch and I was blown away! They're known for their lobster sandwich but I boycotted seafood when I was 5, so I got the chicken and it was AMAZING!! They also start you with this croissant like bread that comes with a whipped strawberry butter and a small cup of chicken broth. Both are delicious and appreciated when waiting for the meal! The dessert was alright, not great but not bad. I feel like the matcha crème brûlée was really matcha-y. Like too much matcha. I think it would've been better if it was the regular vanilla custard with a matcha extract type or a hint of matcha powder type of vibe. Also the top part wasn't as hard-shelled as other crème brûlée's. But nonetheless I still liked everything and had a great time, the service was impeccable too!

Mariposa is amazing! I'd only been to the fashion island location but the menu here at the Beverly Hills location has more pasta. The bread and strawberry spread was amazing, and the lemonade was probably the best I'd ever had. Servers were attentive and the food was delicious. I love the chicken broth they give you at the beginning too. The actual restaurant itself is beautiful too. Price point is not bad either. The food in rodeo drive is meh so I'm glad to have mariposa to stop at in between shopping. The parking validation is also good for four hours so you can easily walk from Neiman to Saks all the way up to rodeo too.

The kids love this restaurant. Server was very patient and extremely nice. My kids love their complimentary chicken soup and popovers with strawberry jam. They cannot get enough of them. Our favorite was the lobster club sandwich and lobster salad.

I love meeting people here so I can be a "lady who lunch" here. Quiet and service impeccable. I had the lobster Cobb which is delicious and big portion. Of course, the chicken consommé and popovers are such a comfort. I wish I can eat here every day. Brb buying a lottery ticket

If you know, you know. I have been coming here for a long time and lately been dreaming of that popover. Today, my popover was not hot but it is still the best popover in LA. I really enjoyed the blended burger aka a beef patty studded with mushrooms. It comes protein style with lettuce no bun and a side salad. Good because I have my popover for carbs anyways. They have a monthly special menu, which looks great. They also have a full bar. Be sure to use opentable to guarantee your spot and rack up those points you probably never redeem. Random observation but I noticed that only men were working there, coincidence or old school? Either way I will take my overpriced entree with a side of popover any day.

I cannot believe I forgot to post my 5 STAR review for Mariposa Beverly Hills during our magnificent lunch, delectable food, stellar service, and excellent wine selections!!!!! Complimentary Amuse-bouche: Of course, our meal began with their infamous complimentary popovers with the signature strawberry butter... And their chicken consommé paired with cheese pastry always sets the stage to all the good things to come! Who doesn't get a little giddy - rrrrright? Wine: A 2013 half bottle of Stag's Leap Artemis wine was superb, with a deep dark berry aroma, and smooth rich finish - perfect for a decadent lunch! Appetizer: Ahi tuna tartare was fresh, filled with avocado, paired together in a delicious combination a tangy zesty flavors from their homemade sauce.. Entrée: Beautifully plated - the sea bass was tender, flakey, light - MELT IN YOUR MOUTH divine... combined with their creamy sauce and nutty dark wild rice! Irresistibly, I licked the entire plate clean, LoL.. Dessert: They even brought out homemade chocolate chip cookies to elevate my birthday cheer! Just a SPECTACULAR and memorable experience.. How was I going to have any room left in my full belly for my birthday dinner at Waldorf Astoria that evening, DOUBLE yikes??? A SPECIAL THANK YOU to NM management (N & IE) to making me feel treasured!!!

    Ask the Community - Mariposa

Do they still serve complimentary popovers?

Yes indeed they do and it's served with the chicken consommé.

Do they automatically include a minimum tip on the bill?

Yes the include a 20% gratuity to the bill. It's clearly written in their menu, and IMO, it's well worth the fantastic service provided.

My first glass of champagne was unfortunately flat and pretty gross but to their credit they replaced it immediately once I mentioned it. Still, for an upscale restaurant, that was a little annoying to begin with. For food, we got the asparagus, burger, fries, abalone, and the bluefin tuna belly deviled eggs. Bread service (on request) was artisan sourdough, hot from the oven, served with rich butter and a tiny mound of salt. Simple and very tasty. My wife's Cacio e Pepe was, by her estimation, the very best she's ever had. The al dente pasta was coated in a sharp Parmesan that was keenly offset by the sweetness of a Tomato Jam served on the side. A very well-balanced and satisfying bite. For my own part, the Quiche Lorraine was buttery and rich, and brimming with bacon and cheese. The lightly dressed salad alongside was a perfect foil, cutting the sharpness nicely. I must also mention that the folks next to us had a table full of yummy-looking, yummy-smelling food, from a cheese and charcuterie board to pizza, an omelet and beautifully prepared veggies. It would be easy to order everything on the menu across multiple visits -- and I'm already looking forward to my next time in.

On the hunt for the best glass of wine to pair with my meal she brought me 7 tasting before I found the perfect fit. If this doesn't scream amazing I don't know what does. They had the Easter bunny come to take photos with the kids and handed out eggs. Val was our server and was great, and Maya, who was helping her, was honestly amazing. She was so attentive and just always on top of everything. I don't think she stopped moving once the whole time we were there. She was constantly checking in, refilling drinks, clearing plates, and making sure everything felt smooth without ever interrupting the moment. The food was also so good, we loved the chilaquiles and the cinnamon roll was definitely a favorite. Everything came out perfect and the whole experience just felt easy and enjoyable. It's not often you notice a server assistant this much, but Maya really stood out she was so nice and sweet and made us feel welcomed. I would absolutely come back and would love to have them again.

We ordered the truffle eggs Benedict and the croque madame, and calling the meal disappointing would be an understatement. The presentation alone looked careless and unappetizing -- shocking for dishes at this price point. When you charge $40 for eggs Benedict, expectations naturally rise. One expects not only quality ingredients and flavor, but refinement and attention to detail. Instead, what arrived looked rushed and poorly executed. The croque madame was somehow even more baffling: the egg managed to be both undercooked and overcooked at the same time -- a culinary contradiction I didn't think was possible. The textures were off, the balance was unpleasant, and nothing on the plate justified the premium pricing. And to complete the experience, the restaurant automatically adds a 20% service charge to the bill, regardless of the quality of service or food. An unfortunate ending to an already deeply disappointing breakfast.
