Came here on a Saturday night and it was worth it. It's authentic Mexican food with the ambiance to match. The music is going and it's not too loud, the bar is stocked and ready to serve, and the food is great. We got the carne asada plate and the shrimp ceviche, both were delicious and the portions were huge. The service was great and everything made for a great dinner.
Items ordered: La Buchona (Corona beer with grilled shrimps) Ceviche Mitotero (shrimp and octopus ceviche in cocktail sauce) Cachichurris Sushi Roll (shrimp, avocado, cream cheese, cucumber, panko coconut deep fried topped with surimi salad, diced mango, chipotle & unagi sauce) Wow, this place packs a huge flavor punch. I don't eat a lot of Mexican food, but primarily that's due to an aversion to rice and beans. The cuisine style of the Sinaloa region of Mexico, however, is primarily known for seafood, and particularly shrimp. I visited on a Sunday early evening. There was a very loud live musical band that had just finished playing. It was very easy to get seating, and the service was fast. The beer cocktail with shrimp was actually extremely delicious. The shrimp were well grilled, with a tangy lime and chili mix. The star of the show was the ceviche dish, which was enormous (we had 2 people, and it was way more than we could finish). There was shrimp, octopus, fresh fish, and I think also some clams, all cured in the lime juice. The sushi roll was kind of bland, unfortunately, but it was deep fried and, compared to the acidity of the other two dishes, more comfortably familiar. I am looking forward to coming back and trying out a few more of the menu items.

Sat at the bar and ordered two drinks and two entrees. Loved the huge selection of sauces. Not sure if this is the norm but the menu had no prices?? If someone can explain, would greatly appreciate! But still, a very big menu. Ordered the aguachile shrimp and tacos dorados. The shrimp came with a big (new?) bad of tostadas. Felt pretty fresh and was a good amount. The tacos were okay. Kinda nothing to write about. Drinks weren't that strong either so not really worth it.
Food was decent, hot considering I ordered delivery via uber eats. I had the birria tacos, wrapped in 2 Tortillas, consome has zero flavor lol Also ordered chicken taquitos, and would def pass on those in future. No seasoning, no cheese and had a decent tasting salad. Their orange sauce was fire, had a nice kick to it though. Green sauce for taquitos was not the biz.
Usually not one to be harsh when reviewing restaurants but this place was a big miss for us. We came on a Friday night and it was pretty crowded, and we happened to come exactly when the live music was starting. I love live music for ambiance and a more fun atmosphere, but the music here is SO LOUD, I couldn't even hear myself think. The place is small and the music literally numbed my ears, my friend and I were sitting right across from each other and couldn't hear each other talk. Literal sensory nightmare. As for the food, we got the crazy nacho fries, shrimp empanadas, brucheta sushi, and the camarones diabla. When the nacho fries came, it didn't have any cheese, so we asked our waiter and he said it didn't come with cheese...we checked the menu and the first ingredient is cheese so we asked again and he brought it for us on the side. When we got the bill at the end we saw they charged us for the cheese like what?? Anyways, the fries were fine, nothing extraordinary. The shrimp empanadas were tasty and came with a chipotle mayo sauce on the side. The sushi roll was meh. It has shrimp and steak and if you tried the steak alone it was insanely salty and kinda gross. The camarones diabla were pretty good, but again nothing extraordinary. Overall this place was a big miss for us, atmosphere wise, service wise, and food wise.
Great food, service and value. The ambience is definitely unique. They have a band playing inside the main dining area. I personally could not handle the volume so I'm glad we got a seat at the back: outside the restaurant. You could still hear the music and enjoy the tunes without the deafening sound. Our server was great! She didn't speak much English but she tried her best to clarify what we wanted. Our food was amazing! The botana mazatlan-seafood platter, was superb. If you like fresh seafood and made into ceviche, you would wanna try this. We all came out very satisfied with our dishes.
This place is amazing it's a hidden gem we walked in and right away they greeted us they offered a couple tables of tables to sit keep in mind it wasn't bussy it could be different but they gaved us the menu and they have a variety of food kid friendly as well jairo our server offered something to drink and we got a prepared squirt the taste is amazing very tasty and fresh I got a fresh water mango with pineapple it was very sweet and refreshing the size was like xl :) we ordered shrimp with garlic a side of consome soup and 2 variety of tacos and the atmosphere was very wonderful very happy some karaoke oldie songs and mix of everything it's a great time for sure but the bathroom inside is currently out of order so for handicapped people a bit on a downside but over all I loved it and will definitely be back thank you so much for the service there was a guy there I didn't get him name but he gaved us a shot definitely shout out to him Este Lugar es Asombroso es una joya escondida entramos y luego luego nos saludaron y nos ofrecieron una variedad de mesas para sentarnos también ay que tomar en cuenta que no estaba tan ocupado podría ser diferente pero nos dieron el menu y tienen una variedad de comida tambien para niños .Jairo fue nuestro mesero nos ofrecio algo de tomar agarramos una squirt preparada y el sabor exquisito y fresco to agarre una bebida fresca de piña y mango estaba muy dulce pero rica el tamaño era como xl :) ordenamos camarones al ajo con un side de consome y dos variedades de tacos la atmosfera es maravillosa muy contenta poco de karaoke canciones Antiguas y un mix de todo tipo de musica pasas un tiempo agradable de seguro pero el baño adentro esta fuera de servicio por el momento asi que para gente invalida un poco difficil pero apesar de eso pues nos fascino definitivamente regresaremos muchas gracias por el servicio habia un hombre ay ese dia no agarre su nombre pero nos dio un shot asi que saludos a el
The concept sounded interesting, so we decided to try it out. Sushi and Mexican food. Well, that didn't go well. We had a large group, so we were seated in the back patio. They only had 1 server helping us for 25 people. It took 30+ minutes for most of our food to come out, and mine was over an hour for 3 tacos. The tacos were plain, zero flavor. Do not recommend this place in a very shady part of SJ.
I felt this place was unique with its types of sushi's. The place is ideal if you're extremely into seafood. They have a wide variety from, plates, ceviche, tostadas, sushi rolls, and among similar items. I went with my cousins and we got a plethora of options so we can share. I ordered the Ondeado roll 2 tostadas of ceviche de mango and ceviche de Sierra. For a drink I ordered a dark Pacifico beer. Service and ambiance were good. Loud music but we were able to speak with each other. The speed of our food was ideal despite ordering a good amount for our party. We've been here 3 times. 1st time I got the tostada de camaron (a bit too much vegetation) y la perrona MMMMMMMMM OMGEEEE... .. I couldn't stop dreaming about this one! The crab in it elevated the flavor galore 5 out 5!!! It has become my favorite! Waiters are normal and music is a bit loud for my taste but I was there to eat! Lol 2nd time, I ordered the caldo 7 mares.... OMG!! Again exceeded my expectations! The fish was well cooked but still firm, shrimp and crab legs were perfect! I like that there many veggies in the dish. The broth is flavorful and the home made tortillas, well need I say more?! Another 5 out 5!! 3rd time, I was a bit dissapointed. I ordered the menudo but found it undercooked. It was a bit tough. I'm used to my menudo being tender and on the lighter side. I don't know why this one was a bit of the darker side, the meat is what I'm referring to. Broth was okay. Almost no flavor. I don't know, it just wasn't my fav! Hubby got the camarones a la diabla and again, not my fav! The sauce was too creamy for me. It had a kick as far as spice but the cream, to me, killed the flavor. Authentic Mexican in San Jose. Parking in the back as there's not much on the street. Ceviche Really fresh veggie cuttings, the shrimp a bit on the dry side. Octopus Impressive display but a little hard to eat without steak knives - needs more seasoning and I prefer a little more of a charred quality. Combo Plate Filled with jumbo shrimp, fried shrimp, pan fried fish, crab legs and jumbo peppers. I thought that there were probably too much shrimp - and it needed to be more diversified. The restaurant was packed when we arrived. We waited about 15 minutes for someone to take our order, but no one ever came while other tables were helped first, so we decided to leave. Do not recommend this place. The customer service was very poor. Super disappointing experience. read more

I wish I could have giving this place 5 stars, but nonetheless this place was good. I think my favorite thing was the prepared oysters and the calamari. The sushi's are good not all that, but they're a passable and their micheladas are spot on which you can never go wrong. The salmon plate was not the best it was just dry and bland, definitely not up to par with the rest of the food. Service is really good, food and drinks just take a while to come out, then again there was only 2 girls serving which I totally get. Now will I be back yea I would, but definitely to try their other items. read more

It was my first time here and off the bat the workers were very welcoming and continued to make sure I was fine and asked if I needed anything else. Great Mexican seafood with perfectly balanced flavors! We got a huge platter of Aguachiles Verdes, which consisted of a ton of raw shrimp, sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, and red onion. All of this was marinated in a citrus chile lime juice mixture that had just the right amount of salty, sour, and spicy flavors and you could taste it in every single bite! Served with a huge bag of tostadas. Big thanks to our server who, despite being incredibly busy, brought by a squeeze bottle of mayo and suggested we add some to our tostadas. It was the perfect creamy complement to the aguachiles! It was also our first time trying Sinaloan style sushi; sounded over the top at first but I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the combo of ingredients and flavors turned out! We got the Divorciado, which was a sushi roll stuffed with steak, shrimp, cream cheese, cucumber, and avocado. The whole thing was breaded, deep fried and sliced, then topped off with surimi and creamy sauces and served with a blistered guero chili pepper and a slightly tangy dipping sauce. It was very flavorful and also fun to eat! They have a ton of other dishes that look delicious and I'm looking forward to trying their ceviche on our next visit! And probably another one of their sushi rolls! read more

This place is small and DELICIOUS!! I had the Campechana cocktail and camarones al ajo (garlic butter shrimp), and they were both very tasty. The only complaint I'd have would be that the cocktail had raw oysters in it and I wasn't ready for that texture, otherwise it was tasty, had A LOT of shrimp, some octopus and scallops. The garlic shrimp was sooooo good. And the garlic butter was great for tortillas. Definitely coming back and trying more things here read more

Found this spot while in San Jose visiting family. Food was amazing. The michelada was ok. Portions are large enough to share. Staff was great. Private parking in the rear. Music and ambience is fun. Only thing, if you pay with a credit card they do not allow you to add a tip later. So don't forget cash. read more

The server named Guerra always takes such good care of me and whoever I'm with. She makes delicious micheladas and is fast & attentive ! When I come here I order the ceviche de camarones aka shrimp and ask for extra limes and a side of chipotle sauce . I put the chipotle sauce all over the tostada and then put the ceviche on the tostada as shown in the pic. They have live music on weekend nights. Only thing is parking is kind of hard to find when it's busy. They have TVs inside and outside in the patio area. read more

So I was shopping for a car and got really hungry. Needed something fast and nearby. Found this spot. We sat at the bar and saw people order mostly micheladas. They looked so good. But I was driving so I had pineapple Agua Fresca. Very refreshing, not too sweet. I got the fried fish tacos Tribeca. One was shrimp, one fish and one octopus. Honestly I couldn't really tell them apart but they were all very good. There are a bunch of different bottled got sauces and their own salsas. My hubby ordered the star of the show which was the birria! Oh man. I wanted to bathe in that. Deep rich color and flavor. Get it! If I'm back in that area, I will get an extra birria to take home. I order the tostada Perrona and the taste was outstanding! I also order half a dozen of oysters and the taste reminded me of when I travel to Mexico. Service was also a 5 star. read more
