I stopped by this seafood spot about 1 mile north of Victorville, near a Motel 6 and gas station. The area feels a bit run-down and parking is tight. Inside is small and gets crowded fast since it's popular. Today it was 103°F outside and the restaurant was stuffy. I asked staff if the AC could be turned up but it stayed pretty hot the whole time, which made dining uncomfortable. Now the food: the Mexican sushi and seafood were genuinely delicious. Flavors were bold, seafood was fresh, and the sushi rolls had a nice flavor. The downside is price for portion size. One sushi roll was $22 + tax, and a 16oz Michelada was $18. For that cost I'd expect more space, AC, or bigger portions. At these prices I'd probably take my family to a sit-down restaurant with more comfort instead. Food quality: 4/5. Overall experience due to heat, crowding, and price: 2.5/5. Tasty food, but I likely won't be back. Funny fact. While we were ordering our food. The gang unit from the sheriffs department showed up. They entered the restaurant and took an employee from the kitchen outside. He was padded down, placed in handcuffs and taken away. Both officers were in unmarked vehicles. Most likely the individual was either on probation or was somehow just being questioned by the sheriffs because 30 minutes later he returned. I would not return to this restaurant and would not recommend it based on my experience. When I walked in, I was not greeted, which made for an unwelcoming first impression, which was confusing and felt misleading. The restaurant is very small, with only about 7-8 tables, and there is only one restroom shared by everyone. I had to wait a long time to use it, and after several people had gone in and out, it was not a pleasant experience. When my food finally arrived, the server was about to hand me my plate but then took it to the back for a couple of minutes before bringing it back. The food was supposed to be hot, but it was only warm, almost room temperature by the time I received it. The service was disappointing from start to finish. No one came back to check on me or ask if I needed anything. When I was ready to leave, I had to wave someone down just to get the check. Overall, I was very unhappy with the service, the communication, and the overall experience. There are plenty of other places to spend your money, and unfortunately, this is not somewhere I would visit again. I'll be sure to spread the word about my experience. read more

By far one of the worst restaurants I've tried in the high desert. Expensive and extremely salty. We ordered a plate that came with fish, shrimp, and whatever else they had in their kitchen. If you've ever watched Vegas vacation and when they went to that buffet, imagine that. That's exactly what the plate looked like, nasty mush. A sushi roll was 22 dollars and was extremely gross. I got the el chapo roll and the entire concoction made me gag. The toppings on the sushi looked like Pepto bismol and was extremely sweet. Food wasn't that great, service was horrible. Waitress never came back to check on us after food was dropped off. Ran out of our first and only drink that was brought before we ordered but she had time to sit down at a table to chat it up and then walked outside. Had to walk up and ask for the check from the other waitresses. Not worth it, would definitely not recommend nor would I go back. read more

I just moved to the high desert a month ago and I've been looking for some good mariscos and now I can stop looking. El chapo roll(right side) was the best tasting roll I've had in forever and my wife loved the shrimp cocktail. The service was great our waitress Gaby was very attentive and friendly. This place kills it. The portions are huge. The food is very Super nice. The tables are like cafeteria seating. Monique gave great service, not one bad thing to say about this Mexican food restaurant. The service people are so friendly and acknowledging, they watch and make sure you're happy. The service and food are the stars here at Mariscos La Toxica. The meals are incredible the price is super cheap for what you get. OMG!!! This has to be the best fish tacos I have ever had in my life. Got the Marlin taco and shrimp burrito. Burrito was packed with grilled shrimp. They definitely give you, your money's worth. The marlin taco is hands down the best taco I have ever had. Has a mesquite smoky taste and packed with fish. These are $5 large taco's. Parking is rather small but you can park in motel parking lot. Dining area is decent size able to fit serveral people. I live about 30 minutes away and came back the next day for the tacos. Highly recommend going here. read more

Honestly such a horrible, terrible, bad place to go to if you're wanting to sit down and enjoy a nice meal. If you're a female the waitresses won't bat an eye for you shoot they forgot about us plenty of times but had so much time to flirt with their co workers in the middle of the restaurant. Many of the employees were actually drinking on the job and one even got on the mic and started singing. In the middle of the restaurant there was a table of many employees drinking beers showing off their "tips for the day" and practically screaming louder than the music. you look around the restaurant and everyone was visibly uncomfortable and annoyed. The food took annoyingly long which was expected since most of the kitchen was in the dining room. They might delete my review again who knows read more

This was the worst mariscos place I've ever been too.
