Unbelievably fresh and fast. Stopped here in the barely-there town of Ramona when I came in for a concert. My mouth was blown away. The food was good and the service was too. Biggest complaint, I was cold the whole visit with my jacket on.

Monday night at 7:45pm; worst service ever. To start with it wasn't busy. Six tables and most of them already had been served their food. I personally jumped over to the bar while my family stayed at the table to look at the menu. 5 minutes sitting at the empty bar and not one waitress said a thing to me. So I went back to the table. "Well we don't have bar tenders on Mondays." Is the response I get for asking about beverages and why no one was at the bar. We get a beer, an iced tea and two waters. 20 minutes go by and no one has said anything about taking our food order or come by to check on us. Finally I had to walk up to the gal who grabbed our drinks but obviously didn't want to take our food order, and I had to ask her to close us out. It would be nice to be able to pay for our drinks so we can go somewhere to have dinner..... She brings it back extremely rudely, and said NOTHING. Just tossed it on our table and kept walking. No apology, no explanation, nothing but a wonderful attitude. Your restraunt is losing money in alcohol revenue and your non-friendly servers encourage those who want to eat to leave. It's a shame because the food is good, but the service is terrible. read more

Ordered the fish taco plate, nasty - in the shell was actual fish fins and a mushy unknown fish, sent it back and got a chicken taco - server was less than nice. This was my 3rd time there, very disappointing would not recommend this restaurant, there are much better places in Ramona. read more

Great spot, the food was tasty. The service was friendly and they checked on us to refill drinks. Large portions, fair prices, the shrimp coctail was outstanding alot of seafood. The shrimp fajitas was a great choice. Margaritas on the rocks was smooth. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone. brought the kids ages 12 & 13, they ate all the good and no complaints so good for groups, family, and friends. For our little town, this is a good spot for some tacos and enchiladas. Being a born San Diegan, this reminds me of our "kind" of Mexican food. Prices are okay because portions are large. Chips are served at the table and are always nice and crispy. read more

Run down overpriced dump. Don't buy there "guacamole". It is powdered and sourcream with extra water. Board says $3.45 for rolled tacos but they charge you $5.95. Food looks bad. Skimpy. read more

The food here is great. The problem I have is with noise. It is extremely noisy. There always seems to be one table with a couple of guys that seem to think everyone else needs to know their opinions. We try to sit in the back room away from the noise but the noise level is still loud. read more

This place is a wonderful mexican food. The servers all are very attentive and you get your food almost as soon as you order it! The beans are to die for! I've gone to this place twice now and loved it. The servers could be a little more friendly but the food and drinks are excellent. My only issue was last night that I went in at 8:30 for a late dinner and they refused me and said they were only doing to go orders. A friend of mine was eating there with his family at the same time and when I told him he said he had literally just been sat ten minutes before I got there. Food is served quickly. That is about the best I could write for this restaurant. It was not busy. The waitresses are less than friendly. The food just okay. I ordered a chicken tostada. It was just slapped together with too salty chicken, and an odd tomato slice. We live in Ramona so we try this place once every few months in hopes that it might improve. (It could, but it doesn't... ) On the orders there is a substitution charge for chicken if you don't care for beef. That is pretty measly of the restaurant. read more

Great food, large portions & low prices. Not like any of the other Mexican restaurants in Ramona. ALWAYS packed - but well worth the wait time to get in. Only thing I would change would be the salsa. They have 2 types: mild chunky- taste store bought and a smooth habanero sauce- REALLY good and definitely homemade. The waitresses were friendly & the owner a really nice guy. Excellent service, excellent food, food comes very quickly, and you get sit down food at taco stand prices. They haven't quite perfected the sauces, but otherwise excellent. The best Mexican food in Ramona! We moved to Ramona in 2011 and have now tried every restaurant in town. Mariscos Mar De Cortez is fairly new and we went to it when it first opened. It was good at the start and quickly morphed into the best Mexican restaurant in town. For those connoisseurs out there, they have some local the local ChuckAlek's Dowser... Whenever we want to treat a guest to a nice meal or have a nice family dinner, Mariscos is on the top of the list. And their prices are reasonable too. read more
