I'm giving this place 4 stars but I can understand why other people will give it fewer stars. The place can be a little too loud, sometimes dirty, and the servers could be a bit off-putting. But I like the place because I like this scene - if I'm in the mood! FOOD: I ordered the ostiones preparados. Not gonna lie, I know they could've been better because they didn't taste super fresh but I will say that they really packed on the ceviche to each oyster. The good thing is there are a lot of hot sauces available so you can drown your food in it - it's a plus! They had a couple drag singers when I was there on a Sunday afternoon. Some could be a bit crass so be warned if you can't handle some crass humor. They had a long line of people waiting so people genuinely love coming here. The micheladas are so refreshing and delicious! The diced cucumber adds a nice touch. We were served crispy, fresh chips and spicy salsa immediately. My husband and I ordered the mojarra and carne asada platters, and they were both tasty (although my salad and mojarra were not 100% fresh). Both platters came with beans, rice, a side salad, and tortillas for around $15 each. This is a great place to grab a beer, eat good food, and catch a game. The TVs are huge and plentiful. Musicians play on Fridays and Sundays, so if that is not your cup of tea, avoid these days. I will come back but will probably not order the mojarra again. Did reservation yesterday for Mother's Day today. They sat us down as soon as we came and took our order for drinks which came out fast but we waited 2hrs for food. Only 70% of our food was out and by the time the rest of us got our food everyone else was done. Even when I went to the kitchen and complained about the wait they blamed it on how busy they were and I let them know other people had arrived 30 min ago and I had to wait 2 hrs for an order of fries! I'm back again Friday at 4 pm and it's loud with tables full of patrons drinking, eating, and chatting (myself included). I've been here twice now and I can't get over how delicious everything is! The 7 Mares and the Parrillada de Mariscos (Feeds 5 people) are out of this world! It is really noisey on the weekend at night but I'm Mexican so I'm used to it :) Service wasn't terrible like some of the reviews mention. They just don't wine and dine you. We didn't even finish half of our food. And the service from our waiter was horrible. They didn't take atm or credit cards. They said there system was down. I have to find an atm to pay them cash. My mom wanted to see the Sunday show with impersonators. We brought my granny along too. Before leaving, I saw that previous reviews said that there is no air conditioning. There's about 4 different singers for each show. In between The acts, there is a DJ playing music. It's all pretty fun to watch. I just had no idea that the show would be a little adult themed since it was in the afternoon. My granny was a little off put by the language. There were a lot of kids in the audience. It was kind of hard to communicate with anyone since its so loud inside. My granny really liked her margarita. I got my horchata and it was pretty good. The food comes out and the shrimp cocktail looks a little watered down. She prefers the sauce to be thick not liquid. It was pretty bland too. She was also expecting crackers. My meal came out in a super hot molcajete. Inside it had a fish head, shrimp, imitation crab, octopus, a couple other things that I couldn't id. I've lived in a Placentia for quite some time, and it's easy to become creatures of habit. This is especially true when it comes to navigating the same places close to us. This time my friend Rosalina, met me for lunch, at Mariscos Playa De Corales. The parking lot is long and narrow, busy, but a spot can usually be found. The exterior shows the size of the restaurant and you can see they bought out two other spaces to accomodate their successful growth. We walked in and I was pleased with the sea-like decor. I'm a cruise freak, so the anchors and murals made me feel like I was well on my way to a beach escape! The menu looked good and they offer so much to choose from. There are also many photos to go along with it, in case you aren't familiar with some of the Spanish terms they use. I love ceviche, so that was certainly gonna happen. I chose a combination shrimp and fish one, on a tostada, that included avocado. So fresh and juicy, as it was drenched in lime juice, but you could choose to not have it prepared that way! My friend told me to try the tacos al governador. This was basically a large, warmed soft taco, with shrimp and melted cheese inside. It even included a small dish of grilled green peppers and onions. My gosh, was it fantastic! I will easily come back for this alone (and more ceviche) and also believe my daughters would devour them as well. Our server was Fatima (spelling) and she was kind and helpful when we ordered and checked on us regularly. My only disadvantage to the experience is the volume of the jukebox. Someone played 2 songs while we were there and it was very difficult to still carry on a conversation to the person seated across from you.
