Last night my wife, who travels alone for work, ate at this restaurant, alone. During her meal, a large group of men and women were having an inappropriate conversation about underage girls. At some point the waitress came over to check on my wife and she mentioned to the waitress that she was uncomfortable about the conversation she was overhearing. Then the GM came over to my wife to check on her to make sure she was ok, then walked away and never came back. The table making the inappropriate comments had one man who after waking over to my wife to hit on her, and was subsequently rejected, went back to his table and said my wife was a b*tch and "wanted to shoot her in the face". The GM did nothing to insure my wife's safety, and did nothing to address the table of adults who were making inappropriate comments and making threatening remarks about hurting my wife. I personally have never been to this restaurant, but if this is the way they allow individual patrons to be treated, they should not be in business. This is what gives Florida a bad name to everyone else in the country. Shame on management for allowing this to happen. And they can rest assured I will post this same review to every restaurant review site I can find. This restaurant is NOT FEMALE FRIENDLY. read more

My favorite restaurant of all time. I've never had a single bad meal or experience at Marker 32. The calamari is incredible. Whatever sauce they put on it is addicting. The scallops are the best I've ever had - the smoke corn purée & avocado puree are so tasty. And last but not least, the filet mignon is my favorite meal ever. It is always cooked and seasoned to perfection & the blue cheese sauce on top makes it that much better. Their desserts are some of the best as well - get the bread pudding, trust me. Came here for my birthday dinner for the first time and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere was lively, it was a Saturday night and it was a packed so, reservations are a definite must. They have specials that they change up nightly, so don't miss out on that. I had the halibut that night, it was perfect- every bite literally melted like butter in your mouth. Even the apps were great... cheese board spread, duck confit on a flat bread..I tired a little bit of it all, thankfully each dish owned it's own flavor and personality. We made reservations here for my sisters birthday but despite that, we were still seated 40 mins later. However, our waiter Kameron made up for that. He was very attentive, friendly, and patient with us-we had a party of 13. We tried the oyster and short rib appetizers, both of which had good flavor. My boyfriend and I shared the bistro steak and salmon entrees. The steak was a bit salty, and the salmon wasn't as tasty, but we still enjoyed both meals. For dessert, we brought our own cake which Kameron even helped us take photos of and cut and plate it. Afterwards, he brought us some pecan praline squares which were SO YUMMY, we ended up taking them home and eating the next day. The experience here started out rocky but our waiter made up for it, and the manager gave my sister 2 $100 gift cards to make up for the wait. 5 stars for the service and view. 4 stars for the food. App we got was the salmon tartare with the salt & vinegar potato chips/avocado puree. It was so interesting and tasty but slightly too acidic. Too tart for my husband's liking, but I still enjoyed it. I do wish there was less lime in the avocado or the salmon since the vinegar provided some tart. My husband's dish was supposed to be shrimp and gnocchi, which the waitress said the gnocchi was removed for GOD KNOW'S WHY?! It was replaced with handmade fettuccine that was not quite al dente (too tough) and did not balance out the andouille/peppers/percorino/smoked tomato sauce (saltiness was not offset with the rubbery noodles). The shrimp was jumbo, cooked and seasoned well, delcious. My dish was the scallops (seared perfectly) collard greens/creamy grits/roasted corn basil shrimp broth (SO DELICIOUS!!!). I would swim in this broth. Beautifully balanced meal. We will definitely come back, hopefully the gnocchi will return. Willing to try other things! read more

Love this place! The food, the service, the atmosphere is outstanding! I had the bistro steak and it was probably the most tender and tasty steak I've ever had. Super friendly staff. Be warned, though, if you need to use the lift instead of the stairs: the lift is verrry slow lol! But another big plus is that they have beautiful feral cat that meets and greetsvyou. This place is amazing! I love that it is out of the way and not as well known, so that it gives the ambiance of seclusion and peace. This was my first time visiting, and it won't be my last time. The service was spectacular, especially since it was my birthday, and our waitress was so nice! The manager made a point of coming by our table too and making sure that our food and service was perfect. When our scallop appetizer didn't come out on time, they made sure to comp us for that since that wasn't our fault. The scallops were fantastic, buttery smooth and melt-in-your-mouth, on a bed of pumpkin puree with bacon bits on top. Soooo good! I decided on the cobia special, which was pan-seared on a bed of Asian noodles with edamame, peppers, and an Asian inspired sauce. Perfection on a plate! My boyfriend chose the salmon on the regular menu, which was served on a bed of risotto, and he ate everything on the plate. The drinks were crafted with an expert eye, so I highly recommend the dirty martini and the New Fashioned. We weren't as impressed with the key lime cheesecake, but I loved that they wrote "Happy Birthday" in chocolate on the plate and made sure to put a candle in the middle so I could make a birthday wish. My wife and I visited again for our anniversary, having made reservations via OpenTable - we opted to wait a little longer past our wait time for a table with a view of the intra-coastal waterway at the bar. I think we caught them on a busy, under-staffed night, took about 15 minutes to get a drink, and the bar space we sat at had not been cleared from the previous guests, nor did it ever get cleaned the entire time we sat there (for about 20 minutes). All the above inconvenience went away once we were seated, as our server Jamie was fantastic, letting us know quickly she would be right with us. The food is always outstanding, tonight was no exception. We had the fried-green tomatoes (a southern speciality : ), my wife had pork chops, and I had a fantastic scallop dish serviced with sautéed spinach. Not someplace we frequent because of the pricing (as we're not rich : ) - but great for special occasions. Additionally, they have spacious private rooms for large parties and a great view of Florida's great outdoors. read more

We had some friends in town who picked out this restaurant to go to while visiting Jacksonville. Now I've always heard great things about Marker 32 so I was really excited to try it for the first time since we've lived here. But boy, what a disappointment. Perhaps it was much better at one point but I really did not enjoy my experience here. We hear now from friend how delicious it ONCE was, perhaps I missed the once part. The decor is in desperate need of an update and I didn't feel like I was sitting in a fine dining restaurant. The crispy calamari was soggy and the tuna poke was strange tasting. We were all confused on the taste of the tuna but couldn't quite put our finger on it. The boyfriend has the shrimp fettuccini and to be honest, we felt like it was Olive Garden quality for a $26 plate. Lackluster. I had the seared filet and again disappointing. No seasoning whatsoever and that's when I knew we had chosen poorly. The presentation of the food was sloppy. The stars are for the service by the waitstaff who were courteous and professional. But I think the next time we spend $200+ on a meal, we will go elsewhere. read more

After reading many reviews my husband and I choose to celebrate our 15 yr anniversary dinner here. I made reservations with "Open Table". We never have date night often so I already felt this place better knock my socks off. Baby sitters in place, new dress, new shoes and a full face of cake and bake better not go to waste. Let me tell you those drinks they serve are very very good. They don't skimp on the liquor. They are $$$ but I had three! The food was amazing I had the filet and my husband had the pork chop. If I had order the pork chop it would have been two servings for me. The filet ... melt in your mouth. While eating it steak sauce never came across my mind. The ambience good, but that view! The view was beautiful. Next question that's always asked, would I go again? Yes most definitely, worth the money, worth my time, and worth asking for my family to babysit. read more

This was a really nice restaurant with a great setting on the water. I went on a Thursday night and it was very busy with a mixture of middle-aged and younger adults. Sat at the bar and the bartender Ty was very helpful and fun to talk to. I had the fresh catch mahi-mahi Hoppin John and a Caesar salad. Ty the bartender took the time to pair my wine with my food. The fish was delicious but the way it was presented was odd. To me, the sauce and Hoppin John did not really go with the fish. It was an excellent cut of thick fish. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff is welcoming, knowledgeable and tentative without being overbearing, the food is exceptional as well as the drinks. I would always recommend making a reservation. We got there a little early to have a drink at the bar. The dirty martinis were amazing as well as the wine that complimented my dish. We ordered the warm spinach salad, because you have to when you come here. He ordered the nightly special which was trigger fish with seasonal vegetables to compliment it, I ordered the scallop dish and it was amazing. We ended the dinner with their amazing bread pudding. My husband and I ate at the bar at Marker 32 last night. Guess if you have a great view you don't have to worry about the food or the service. I honestly can't believe they are rated so highly. Aside from the great view (reason for one star), it was a terrible experience. They keep all their liquor bottles lined up between the bar counter and the bartender, so the bartender could not reach us to give us drinks, take anything away and so we were moving everything over to end of bar so she could reach it. Whoever thought this was a good setup, obviously never worked behind a bar. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, she just said they were all out, did not offer any other suggestions for a similar wine. When we were each ready to order an appetizer, she took my order only and walked away. My husband wanted to order his appetizer, but she was down the other end of the bar. Even when she came back to where we were, we had to wave our arms to get her attention. I got the tuna tartar, which was awful. There was hardly any tuna on it, mostly seaweed salad, and it was drenched in dark gloppy ponzu sauce. For dinner I ordered the vegan Pad Thai.....again, swimming in ponzu sauce. I immediately returned it as inedible and ordered a shrimp and linguini. The shrimp were tiny and rubbery. Do yourself a favor and go to Eleven South, we loved the food, amazing service, and nice atmosphere. read more

Solid 4 stars. Borderline 4.5, for Jacksonville. First time to Marker 32 (sister spot Palm Valley Fish Camp is in my top 5 favorites) and it didn't disappoint. We had a reservation on Friday night and were promptly seated in a quiet corner upon arrival. Our server was exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Kudos. The atmosphere is quiet and intimate but still open. I enjoyed the space and while it's not fancy it's still nice, and we dressed up so it felt like a special occasion spot. The food was spectacular! I'm sad we didn't save room for dessert. We started with pork belly and kim chi. The Korean style pork belly was perfectly seasoned and melted in my mouth. Everyone raves about the warm spinach salad so that was a must. Luckily our server explained that it's available as a half portion so I ordered that and was blown away. The way the swiss melts over the top sends it over the top. The honey tarragon dressing is light but flavorful. We also had the beignets which were spicy and savory. The smoked tomato sauce underneath them was delicious but we sopped it up quickly and could have used more. My boyfriend ordered a dish with seared scallops, a spicy shrimp broth, corn, creamy grits and collard greens. I ordered the gnocchi with pork, butternut squash and blue crab and clams. Both were delicious. The five scallops were huge and cooked properly. A beer for him and a creative gin and cucumber drink for me. A great experience -- we'll definitely be back! read more

We were really looking forward to an evening here, having heard so many good reviews, but I was disappointed. First of all, it's incredibly loud in there. There was such a fun we had to yell to each other at our own table. Could hardly hear the waiter. One of the loudest places I've been. The main courses were pretty good...Cajun fish, crab cakes, steak. But the appetizers were terrible. The calamari "for the table" was a tiny basket of overcooked, sticky brown pieces of breading, not really edible, but it was such a small portion anyway. My wife's warm spinach salad was wilted and swimming in dressing, also inedible, and the broiled oysters! They were so small. On one shell I literally could not find an oyster, just chopped veggies. Another one I found the oyster, no bigger than a dime, I kid you not. Service was just average, not great. They were crowded, but you shouldn't have to wait 15 minutes to get a tea refill. Glad we went, but probably won't be back. This quality of food is available all over town at half the price, and the ambiance is ruined by the noise. read more

I love taking my wife here, the steak is great. She loves it when i add a little romance to our anniversary, and this is the place for romance... most of the time. It was nice at first hostess and waiter were nice but the boy who gave us our food was not the nicest. He interrupted and questioned our very important conversation while he was setting down the food, and he also gave us an up and down look. He was scrawny and medium height with very dark hair, a sissy boy. But i love this place, really helps keep the mrs. happy. read more

I brought my wife and kid for a special dinner on the last day of vacation and it was incredible. Got the steak, a nice size sirloin and my wife got the scallops. Both meals were good and hardy. I would recommend going to marker 32for the sensational seafood and upscale dining. All of the staff we met were amazing people who were very welcoming, a younger fellow running food to tables, was dull and delivered our food without a word and gave an annoyed smile, that told me he did not want to be there. I did not get his name but he had dark brown almost black hair and was a medium height. Maybe he had a bad day, im not sure but he was just aloof. overall if you are from out of town and need some good fresh seafood go here! read more
