Went here for dinner using a Groupon- Bf and I got the Heisman and the BBQ burger, along with a large side of onion rings. The Heisman burger was amazing- thick and juicy, with tons of melty cheese, avocado, and bacon that was cut so thick it was more like eating sausage. Very flavorful without being overwhelming. The barbecue burger had a generous slice or two of delicous, tender brisket and quite a bit of what tasted like a house-made barbecue sauce. Normally barbecue sauce on burgers is not my thing, but this burger was legit. Onion rings were thick cut with a sweet, solid breading that didn't fall off. All in all, this was a very tasty and indulgent place- your diet will be blown here!... but you'll be okay with it; it's just that good! read more

Drove 20 miles from the TPC area of San Antonio to try this place. Went there back in 2012 when it was Fatty Burger and LOVED it. This time not so much. Me and my partner ordered a 1/4 lb fatty burger, 1/4 lb bacon cheeseburger, small onion ring, vanilla shake and a fountain drink. $30.34!!!! Did I mention, we got 6 onion rings for $4. What a rip-off. Sat at our table for 20 minutes before I finally asked the waitress "Can we get the vanilla shake we ordered?" To which she replied, "It's coming". Finally got our burgers and they were overcooked and dry. My friend was halfway done with his meal and guess what, his shake arrived. Not too soon, he needed it to wash down the burger. Frankly, I've had better at Wendy's. We called over the owner and told him about the burgers and the milkshake. He said we were the only complaint about dry burgers all day. I don't care if we were the only complaint all month, IT WAS STILL OVERCOOKED AND DRY!! He didn't offer to remake them or anything, just said sorry. Well buddy, we know what sorry gets you, a BAD review on YELP and customers who will NEVER come back and will tell their friends to do the same. Avoid this place, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS, just dollar bills, that's all they care about. read more

Without question this would be a regular part of your diet if you lived in the neighborhood. I was in San Antonio with my dolly but she wasn't feeling well so because the food choices were all mine I followed my gut and set out for a burger. The place was nicer inside than expected but I still had my doubts, in the end I ordered a "fatty's original" and a second with bacon and cheese. (One burger is enough, just wanted to taste a second for reference) At first the Burger didn't look like much to cast an eyeball on, but the flavors didn't disappoint. You'll get a good sized burger and a very tasty surprise if you get the fries. The bacon and cheese are definately worth the extra nuggets if they are a part of your diet. There is dessert, and it looks decent, but its made off-site and brought in "daily", I skipped it. I also had the seasoned fries, they skimped on the order (large looked like a medium) but they were MY FAVORITE PART OF THE MEAL. A Bite more: LOOK for a daily special, they didn't care to offer it and i noticed it would have saved me some money. Also try the lemonade. Omg this place is amazing! My first time here for lunch! The meat is well seasoned no need to add slate or pepper if you ask me. I had the Heisman burger. 10oz and the seasoned fries with cherry kool-aid . Let me tell you this probably the best burger I ever had in my life next to Culver's burger. 3.25 stars. If you are looking for a good cheap well done hamburger in the Dignowity Hill neighborhood, Mark's Outing is worth a stop. Also, they have a couple of novelty items such as an ice cream burger and a 2 lb burger for those seeking something out of the ordinary. I went with the All-Star avocado which seemed to be a bit lacking in avocado, but otherwise was quite good. They had run out of fries, but that could be a testament to awesome fries and a rather late entrance on my part. When you walk in, go to the counter and order. There are no clear instructions on how to order when you enter. Great Fatty burger and onion rings. They say the Avacado burger is a fave. Since I attend school in the area, this was one of those places that I would drive by and say...."I should try that place one day." Sure enough, I was at school early and had time to eat more than just cheetos. This place isn't too bad inside, clean looking and counter service. They had a nice selection of burgers with various toppings. I don't recall seeing a make your own, however, I'm sure it's possible. They had your various fried side items, even fried mushrooms (must try next time.) Being the nature lover I am, I had to get shrooms on my burger, hence the slam-dunk mushroom burger with a small side of o-rings. For a 1/4 lb. with cheese & fixin's & o-rings hit my pocket around $8. Not too shabby, the lady who brought out my food was very nice and did repeated check-ups on me. So if you're tired of the usual fast food joints, and like me still wonder why the Express News had Whataburger in the top tier of their best burgers in SA, come check out Fatty's for a bite it's worth the wait. read more

Tried Mark's Outing for the first time last night. Well let me tell you if you want a GREAT burger get here fast. We had the chili cheese burger with jalapenos and the original Fatty burger with bacon, both 1/2 pounders. The buns are the best in town by far and the meat plus toppings make this one of the top 3 burgers in all of San Antonio. The onion rings are sweet with a beer batter and don't disappoint. Unfortunately they were out of tator tots and only had enough beans for a test while waiting for our food. We will definitely be back to try all their other burgers!!! read more

First off tea was not good just start with brew it fresh is my suggestion next time.( fresh lemon) would help too. Chicken burger I had was good , cheese burger was very good. Onion rings greasy . The burger was good, although I am always slightly disappointed when the jalapeños are pickled and the fries are those thick crinkle cut ones, but that's just my personal preference. We took our food to go, and I didn't get a chance to chow down in my burger until 2 hours after it was put in my hand, but even after that amount if time it was flippin' delicious - a burger that I would happily pay for in the future. The meat was thick and juicy, without overwhelming greasiness; the cheese/toppings/meat ratio was spot on; the bun sooo tasty - buttery and almost sourdoughesque - and hefty enough that it remained in tact even after 2 hours of hibernation. The Onion rings absolutely deserve a Big O - I'll definitely be ordering those on the reg - and the fries were expertly cooked and beautifully seasoned standard frozen crinkles... way to make them shine! I feel like a total beast for kicking a gift burger in the face, but. .. Too much Jesus. Not enough A/C. And they seemed slightly unprepared to handle demand. .. ordering was quick and smooth, but it took over an hour to receive our food from that point. Natives were getting restless. And grumpy. Saw this restaurant reviewed on Texas Eats and wanted to check it out. Not impressed. My first observation was no smiles from the employees. I ordered a basic bacon cheeseburger, fries and a soda. The taste was middle-of-the-road; nothing special. The cheese looked weird. It seemed like shredded cheese was sprinkled on the meat but never really melted well. Marks Outing is a humble spot. Not a lot of frills, very quiet ...kinda strange to eat at a burger stop and be so quiet and there were people there. Staff super friendly and the place was clean. The food was brought promptly and it was good. The food was piping hot but that's not a bad thing at all. The ONLY con or negative review I had was the patty. The fries were great lettuce, tomato, pickles good but the patty had no LOVE. It needed fresh garlic, some onion salt and salt and pepper. You could tell the meat quality was there but as I mentioned there was no heart in the patty. Mix in some great herbs and liven up the spot and that's all you need. read more

Very disappointed. Service was horrible and slow. Placed order for curbside. When arrived at restaurant placed call. Person said hold on and after 10 minutes, i hung up and went inside. They said order not ready. After 15 minutes inside i asked if order ready. She went to front and got bag. I asked if it been ready whole time she said no. It was the video with the heartfelt plea which got me. A small business owner sharing on social media recently the impending close of his longstanding business if people didn't come to try his food. He was awarded in 2009 a top 50 rank in burgers by Texas Monthly, a statewide magazine. He asked for people to come by and try his food and if not that, share his video on social media. We had seen this restaurant on Facebook and finally tried it out and it was worth the drive. The staff is friendly and the wait for food was not long at all and it came out hot and fresh.
