The best fried chicken wrap I ever had great service even though my food was delicious I was jealous of the people who picked other items.

Oh Tucker. Why has "fine dining" passed you by? Does the ATL think we Tuckerites deserve corporate industrial reheated food? Why oh why must we settle for this? The drinks were fine- thank God. The fries- so so. I likes mine HOT people! The sauce-covered sirloin was oh so sad. I'm sure it "resembled" real meat -perhaps before it arrived on our plates- maybe as far back as when it went in the Sysco frozen food container. The shrimp and grits- so not. I did like the way the grits were fried into a patty but the poor shrimp were so small and weak. How about this: Less Shrimp- More Quality?? This is for the Northlake location. We live very close but had never been here. Why?? We usually venture out for something slightly more adventurous than this, but we had some special needs: we had in-laws in town who had already exhausted all the types of ethnic dining, we wanted to stay close by (where everyone could find something to eat), and we wanted to dine out doors because of our screaming kids. Thus, we tried the Marlow and it fit the bill just great, with something for everyone. Wife and I were only 'medium hungry', so we split the open faced tenderloin sandwich, side of jalapeno grits, extra side of asparagus. The sandwich and grits were tasty, the asparagus was your basic skinny asparagus, not that many of them, next time we'd have doubled up on the grits. MIL had a veggie burger and liked it, FIL had a grilled chicken sandwich and liked it (though it looked like a very basic grilled chicken to me). Kids split mac and cheese and fries, which was still plenty for them. Marlow's charged no splitting fee (unusual now-a-days) and our delightful waiter Kevin kept the iced tea re-fills flowing. The outdoor area is a smoking zone, but no one was smoking, and it worked well for our loud kids. As an added bonus we could enjoy the view of 285 and also watch cops pull people over on Lavista. Also, even though it was hot out, it was surprisingly comfy. Some overhead fans were running on high, which provides a breeze and keeps flies/mosquitos away. Would I venture very far for any of this?? No, but we have loud kids and have special dining needs. We'd eat here again. read more

Full Disclosure: I live and work within walking distance of this bar / restaurant attached to a Double Tree hotel. So, it is very, very convenient for me. That being said: it's an okay place to drink. I will do Happy Hours here with colleagues about once a week. The bar has a diverse selection of beers, wine and cocktails, so whatever your poison, you should be okay. The staff is friendly and polite and they remember repeat customers and call you by name. However, the layout is wonky. First of all, it is attached to hotel, so it serves as the hotel bar, and I presume, the hotel kitchen for all room service, etc. So that makes it kind of cheesy in my book. Secondly, the interior restaurant / bar area is low-lit, dark wood, and subdued. But they have this completely separate upstairs deck area that is half-covered and is metal tables and chairs with live music on some nights. Very different atmospheres, but a little bit schizophrenic for my tastes. The food is adequate, with a few gems standing out. But I feel like everything on the menu is about $1.50 more than what I want to pay for what I get. You know the feeling I mean? The burger was fine, but not $8 fine. The flatbread appetizer is creative and inventive, but too heavy on the Balsamic Vinegar drizzle -- that kind of stuff. Just off enough to make you feel like you paid too much. The people, as you would imagine, are comprised of hotel guests, locals/regulars, and I swear, at times, people that just exited 285 to grab a drink on the way home and dodge traffic. I've got a suggestion for you - EAT THE SHRIMP AND GRITS! Whoa Nelly! You won't be disappointed, even if you hate the concept of a grit on your shrimp, you'll love Marlow's rendention of this recipe. It is mouth watering and a staple for the restaurant. They have recently overhauled their recipe so if you're expecting to see the fish and chips and other favorites you'll be out of luck. Not sure if they have updated the online menu, but be prepared for new menu items. read more

My first visit to Marlow's Tavern was pretty great. The building and inside reminded me of a high class Applebee's. It was very clean and nice. Our server was sweet and answered all our questions. She was quick on her feet even though the restaurant was full. My friend and I ordered beers that came out very quickly and our food did just the same. I had some wings(the sauce was amazing) and my friend had salmon which looked high class. The price is a little high but the food was exceptional. I believe the manager came around asking how we were doing with was nice seeing the manager being involved. No complaints at all to be honest. I had one of the worse customer experiences here at this restaurant. I came here with my mom on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty crowded so I understood the wait for a table which was fine. When we were seated the waitress came over and let us know she would be taking care of us and said she would be right back. When she returned she sat our waters on the table and said she was going to give another table their drinks and she would be back. Now when she came back she asked if we were ready to order our entrees. She didn't ask if we wanted any drinks or anything. So we ordered our food and she didn't come back to our table until we got our food about 25 mins later and that's after I had to wave her down for carry out containers. In the meantime of us waiting for service, another waiter noticed that we had been sitting there a while and dropped a waffle off for us to split(Kudos to that gentleman). When we received our food, I ordered a salad and my mom ordered a burger and fries. She wasn't offered ketchup, mustard, mayo or anything. So after finally getting our waitress' attention, she brought our carry out containers and asked was something wrong with the food. Smh. I explained to her how displeased we were with her service and she stated that she had two big parties that she was taking care of. The size of your party shouldn't determine the quality of service that you receive. She sent her manager over who asked if there was anything that they could do. At that point the answer is no. I am a day late, but loved my dinner at Marlow's Tavern. To start off the ambiance is perfect! Dom lights, dark colors, fancy shamcy feel. It's great for people in their 30s (like me) who wants to enjoy a drink without a lot of young people. The drink menu is the best!!! Patron margaritas are worth the price!!! I also love ordering champagne. I love all the menu items, but for a Saturday night the bake Brie appetizer was delish! Great food, mellow environment, great service! read more

I had brunch here about a month ago. This go round was my second attempt to try their brunch buffet. My first attempt was a few weeks prior and the line was too long and the vibe for me was off so I left. None the less I was talked into coming again. It was an ok experience with my sisters. There was barely a wait and I was a happy girl. The space is kind of cramped but it served its purpose. The food (minus the omelette and waffle station) are out in the lobby. Marlow's is connected to a hotel(Double Tree). The buffet included grits, eggs, biscuits, bacon, sausage, shirt steak, breakfast potatoes, and some other items I can't remember. The price was $20 bucks I think. The food was ok. I mostly enjoyed my made to order omelette and waffle. I think I might go again if invited. The staff was nice and attentive. read more

Food, service, atmosphere, everything at Marlows is amazing! During our first visit, we ordered the Shrimp & Grits and Fish Tacos. While these seem simple enough in theory, trust that your taste buds and visual Ecstasy will be fulfilled with these amazing dishes. (I'll make sure to post the picture for you.) Our waiter was great, attentive and funny. As a kind gesture, the manager stopped by our table and offered us the House Chips with Goat Cheese as a welcome for our first visit. Those were absolutely delicious as well. I dabbled in the soup of the day, a Lobster & Shrimp Chowder which was fabulous too. So Saturday night, we hadn't taken anything out for dinner, it was close to 7:30, the kids were hungry and I was in no mood to cook, so we decided to go out. The kids were playing with the neighbors and were reluctant to leave to go eat - they wanted to stay and play. My neighbors said they can stay and eat with their kids and we can go out and enjoy ourselves. I think this will come back to bite me later with kids dropped at my door someday soon - anyway. No risk, no reward, we leave the kids behind and we are off. Sans kids, our options opened up some. I know Marlow's has been in this location for a while, since we live so close, we have been watching them build out this old hooker hotel into a Doubletree with a Marlow's. Scarily, this was called Magnolia Inn or something. Having a nicer hotel and a new decent place to eat is a sweet change. First, it is a bit confusing when you walk up, do you go through the door or up the stairs? Well, go through the doors. There is an elevator to go up if you like. Upstairs is mainly a bar with outdoor seating. There was also a live band setting up on Saturday. We decided to stay inside and the place was packed, lots of families and people on dates. The place is much bigger than it looks outside. The food is ok, not bad - better than O'Charlie's. They call it highend bar food and I have to agree with that to sum extent. Good selection of beers and wine. Decor is similar to the other locations. Wait staff was good, prompt and attentive. Downside? Parking is odd. There is not a lot in the front, more back by the hotel. Also leaving the parking lot or entering is entertaining depending on the direction you are coming. If you are coming from 285, all you have to do is turn right into the parking lot. If you are coming down LaVista towards 285, you need to turn at the Bank of America and enter in a back entrance that is not really noted. Now if you are exiting and heading toward Decatur, just a right turn out works, but if you need to get back to 285, do not exit the way you entered, need to go out the back entrance, the one that is not really labeled or easily to find. It looks like some back alley with no exit. If you can navigate the entering and exiting, this is a good place to eat. I have been telling everyone, Northlake is the new Dunwoody. Marlow's is a great addition. read more

Had the black and bleu burger and it was delicious. The bacon was thick and crispy, fresh greens, juicy burger. The fries were good but I'd probably order a side salad instead next time. Service at the bar was fantastic. They greet you by name, make great suggestions on the menu, and are super responsive. Our party of five enjoyed a nice evening at this location. Service was friendly and attentive, food was tasty, and prices were reasonable. Right off I-285, they also have a rooftop patio. Asparagus fries were good but slightly greasy, beet and goat cheese appetizer with quinoa was yummy. My dining companions enjoyed their tavern burger with fries, kale caesar salad with grilled chicken, buffalo chicken wrap, and grilled chicken blt panini. Although I didn't try those items, they looked fresh, well-prepared, and were all polished off by the end of dinner. Our waitress was helpful without being over-attentive, and answered all of our questions In good humor. When someone requested cherry coke, which they don't serve, she suggested coke with grenadine, raspberry, or pomegranate syrups--nice alternatives. A friend and I stopped for a dinner we have been many time with no real problems , we ordered , got our drinks , then my friend got what he ordered and mine never showed , waited for a very long time the waiter seemed to be avoiding our table , then he finally came over and said sorry , you wont t have to pay , then waited some more , nothing , then he came over and I said could I at least get a free glass of wine.? Yes no problem and even asked my friend if he wanted one , food finally came. I want to like this place, but the service was lacking. I know how the serving industry works, trust me, but this guy could do some good for himself by laying off the bong for a few weeks. I came here with some friends after we put on a recital for our guitar students and the guy paying the tab wanted to be close to his home. Far enough, and its Marlows, so I know the food will be good. Its part of a really nice hotel, which would be a sweet deal, get drunk and get a room. The food, as always was killer. We were talked into trying the onion rings, and they hit the spot. I had a buffalo chicken wrap and it was as good as always. The server though. He was a cool kid, but seemed perpetually high. As if he hit the bong too much in his youth and it just never went away. I asked for BBQ sauce with my meal, but he didnt bring it. And on top of that, he just never came around at all. Marlow's is fine if you want a nice, quiet dinner - a night out with the girls to catch up, a date night where you can get to know each other, or a place where you can take your parents AND your kids and keep both semi-happy. The service has always been fine - I've never felt too crowded or too neglected. And the food is pretty standard - nothing amazing, but certainly nothing terrible. I've had brunch there once before and got the buffet. They had a good variety of standard breakfast buffet foods. I thought the it was overpriced, but the rest of the people in my party and I ate, and had a good time so... it is what it is. I've also had lunch there a few times. Again, pretty standard. Good, but not great. It's nice enough to sit down during the work day and feel like you're getting a real meal, when so many of the other options are just fast food. I had heard pretty good things about Marlow's and was in the area with a friend, so we decided to drop in for lunch one Saturday. The first thing that stuck me was how almost overwhelmingly attentive and friendly the staff was. I know that's a strange thing to say, they were super friendly, but it was so extreme that it felt a little unnerving. Like they were more excited to have me there for lunch than my own friend was. Anyway, the service ended up settling back a little from "scary happy joy at my arrival" into "very good," which helped us relax and enjoy the meal. Unlike other Marlow's locations, this one is attached to a hotel, which gives it more of a hotel-restaurant, businessman's lunch, sort of a vibe. That was fine, as we weren't looking to move in, just wanted to have lunch. The food is really what earns this place the A-OK rating. We started with an app of homemade potato chips (can never resist those) with bacon and gorgonzola. It was utterly decadent, over the top, and delicious, although the portion and the richness made it far too much for a party of two. We both followed this with the seared ahi tuna salad. We agreed that the tuna was a few steps beyond "seared," more like medium rare. The salad was decent, could have used a little touch of sweetness to balance out the saltiness of the dressing and slight bitterness of some of the greens, but overall, I'd rather they err on the less-sweet side. Overall, I'd say Marlow's is fine, but it's kind of like eating at an Applebee's with fewer tchotchkes on the walls. The meals was decent, but forgettable. Points for the made-to-order cherry cokes and the fact that the server was able to be attentive but not annoying, but not necessarily a place I'd revisit. read more

I would do marlows tavern over applebees and chilis anyday. one of my favorite there is prime rib with french dip. I do have to add some salt and pepper to the dip but other than that its pretty on point. Steak frites is good as well. came here for dinner...and also just for couple of bottles of wine over conversation with friends. Service have always been prompt and willing. I have also done the sunday brunch buffet.. They have table setup with lots of breakfast stuff like gravy, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, and many other tasty stuff. They have an omelet table with different topping that they make for you which was really nice. Sunday brunch is slightly more expensive than golden coral but you don't have deal swarm of people and the food is little better. read more

It's attached to the Doubletree Hotel and you'd totally miss it if you weren't looking for it. We went during a really dead time - middle of the day on a weekday and sat upstairs under the covered roof overlooking the beautiful parking lot. :p It's a nice place, nice set-up. The service was exceptional. Our waiter was extremely attentive, except at the end when we wanted our bill, but he looked very busy helping a big party. He even gave us a free order of kettle chips because we said we had never been there before and then the manager came over and said "hi" to us. Wonderful customer service. The food was very tasty! We got asparagus fries (a great way to get in your veggies, haha) and I got the fish tacos, which the waiter said was the most popular menu item. My side was the jalapeno corn grits - yum. They could have been spicier, though, I think there was only, like, one piece of jalapeno in it. The tacos were very good and packed with tilapia. People complained about it being expensive and yes, for the area, it is, but for what you get, I think it's about right. The food is great and the service is even better. I was really surprised to learn that they are a chain; locations all around Atlanta and even in Orlando. I hope their quality doesn't go down as they expand - that tends to happen. :/ read more

Not my first visit but my first review of Marlow's and tonight was pretty much amazing. We were greeted and seated right away even though it was crowded ( New Years Day ). Our server Steve came to us right away, explained the specials then took our appetizer and drink order. Our regular and specialty drinks showed up very fast. Asparagus fries, crab / shrimp nachos , chicken wings for appetizers All were excellent. Our food was delivered shortly after we finished our appetizers... well most of it. Everyone but me their entrees. Mine showed up about 5 minutes after everyone else and my fries were cold but they made it right by bringing a fresh basket. We had a wide variety of entrées including seafood, steak, chicken, burgers and it was all amazing. Steve checked on us and freshened up our drinks OFTEN. I was looking for someplace cozy and cool to enjoy a beer and some Georgia sun. The outdoor patio is a winner with the fans that blow cool mist every 2 minutes or so. The beer selection was pretty limited, but I'm sure you will find something you like. I went with the seasonal Sweetwater wheat, which was on point. The lump crab beignats were very tasty appetitizer. The service was sub-par ( maybe because of the soccer game ) but overall this is a good time place, with TV'S inside, but not on the patio. read more

While it is possible this was an "off" day and they were short staffed that does not change my experience. We walked in and we're not greeted or seated or acknowledged with even a head nod for 5-10 minutes. I really enjoyed myself at Marlow's. I sat at the bar and was greeted by Chris, who asked for my name and remembered it all night. He introduced me to the lead bartender, the awesome Jamila. She makes outstanding "new fashioned" drink. The food was trashy good too. The humus was house made and has a great garlic kick. I went for a couple drinks and made a couple friends. Our server was clearly the type to hussle her tables. But she gave us the attention we deserved, so not NEARLY as bad as last time. The manager clearly has no control over this restaurant. Upon arriving we were offered a large booth since we had two children with our party of six. A few minutes later when the booth was cleared another staff person seated a single person that had arrived after us at this oversized booth. When asked, he said he was going by the list. When told what the manager had said about our using the booth, he said he was putting together another table. As my children complained of being hungry, the single person got up and he seated a party of two - who also came in after we did - in the booth we had been promised some twenty minutes earlier by the manager! When the manager did finally appear, she said she was waiting for us to "get some food and drink in us" before she talked to us about the incident. When we were less than accepting of that choice, she disappeared and we never saw her again. She never checked on our meal, service or anything. As I type this review I am reading others and realize that the "extra tip" thing happened to me earlier. I was given a $20 gift card and used $11 of it at this location and when I went to use the other $9 at the location in Dunwoody - they said it only had $6 on it. Clearly a typical chain restaurant with poor management and staffing issues. Food is not bad - but we will not be going there again... read more

This place is great- combined with the attached Doubletree Hotel.... Makes for a perfect business stay. Staff was friendly, well trained, and very helpful. They know the menu well and are always quick to make recommendation. Thanks to Marlows I am now addicted to the fried grits. The atmosphere is great and the setting adapts to the patrons. Customer NO Service No one to seat us so seated ourselves as number of empty tables - when someone finally came to table told us we should not have done that?? Took over 30 minutes for someone to take order and then forever to get food - others sending back orders as seemed to be issue in kitchen. Chicken stack was lukewarm at best and chicken dry and overcooked - as already been there hour did not send back as no time. Attitude of server needed work. We had tried this Marlow's before on family recommendation and disappointed; then ate at Emory Pointe one and was good so decided to try local one again. Husband said Hamburger wasOK. We will not try this location again after 2 very bad experiences. read more

This place was a huge surprise. I usually hate restaurants in a hotel cause they are overpriced for average food. Marlow's is certainly the exception to the rule. 1st the service was excellent very attentive but not annoyingly hovering. We had the potato chips and crab and shrimp nachos as an appetizer and both were unique and delicious. I ordered the Cuban sandwich and fries and both were very good. The Cuban was an good Cuban, about as good as you can expect outside of Miami and Cuba. The fries were a good blend of crispy outside soft inside and the meal was so filling. They also have an awesome beer and wine menu. So many great options to include some very good Local beers. read more

My daughter took me to Marlow's for Mother's Day Brunch and it was not a pleasant experience. She made reservations and based on reviews we were looking forward to the food. We were seated, but no wait staff came to check on us or bring us anything to drink. I had to go to the hostess and ask. Thankfully a runner staff heard me and said he would take care of it. Collin rush to the kitchen and in a few minutes, we had drinks. The hostess never apologized. We were never asked if everything was ok, never received refills. We sat for over 20 mins waiting for the check. Again, I had to ask the hostess to send wait staff so we may have a check. Some other tables had wqit staff and were very well attended, but that was not the case for most tables. I am nit sure if they were short on staff, but I will never go back to Marlow's even though I live in Tucker, less than 3 miles for it. Although the brunch included "bottomless" mimosas, we did not get any as they are not served until 12:30. We left at 12:30, we did not want to wait any longer. read more
