I used live in the area and have come to this location several times. The atmosphere is laid back yet intimate. This Marlows Tavern needs to work on service. Once someone notices you at the entrance after you stand there for 5 minutes or so you will get seated. The last time I dined here it was on a Saturday night, the restaurant was practically empty, service was slow and not very good. Every item we ordered including the water took forever. Our waiter kept telling us the food was coming soon and 30 mins later it showed up. The shrimp appetizer was delicious and spicy. My shrimp and grits were flavorful and tasty, not the best I've ever had but definitely good, I was pleasantly surprised. My side salad was also fresh. A awesome plus to this resturant is the rooftop seating with a bar and they typically have live music on Friday night. If you have time on your hands and don't mind waiting this Marlow's Tavern is a great place to meet up with friends for drinks and a bite to eat, it is also a cool spot to take a date. read more

I have tried Marlow's using a delivery service several times and every single time I do not get everything that I ordered. Tonight I ordered a Caesar Salad and it came with no salad dressing. So I paid $10 for a bowl of lettuce. I also ordered 2 Cokes and did not get these at all. I keep thinking it will be better next time. It never is. It is always wrong. Order from somewhere else or be prepared to have a back up meal ready because you can bet you won't get what you ordered. read more

Staying at the Double Tree and this restaurant was convenient and on site. They have an indoor seating area and outdoor bar area that is partially covered. Decided to eat healthy and order the grilled salmon which was cooked good, but the cous cous that came with it was not up to par. No taste to it at all and not even worth having. I also had a side tavern salad which was good. I would probably get a burger next time due to that is what they are known for. read more

Let me start off by saying Gorgonzola Sauce ! That stuff is simply amazing! We dipped French fries, sandwiches, fried okra, grilled cheese sandwich, fingers, and toes in it ! Lol! I had the grilled cheese sandwich and my husband and a double cheeseburger. My grilled cheese sandwich was delightful! The bread was slightly dusted with chili powder and the cheese was thick and gooey! I had the fried okra as a side. It was crisp and fried perfect. Oh, they fry the whole okra. My husband said that he enjoyed his cheeseburger. Everybody at the table enjoyed their food. The service was great and the vibe was cool. Thank you "MIKE" (manager) for going above and beyond your "normal" protocol yesterday ... you just never know the impact of one simple act of Kindness in someone's life! My husband drove appxox. 7 hrs to GA to handle a family emergency. I knew my husband was exhausted but insisted on driving back home that evening. I convinced him to stay in a hotel overnight and to continue our travel home the next day. Now, this is where manager Mike's act of kindness comes in! Due to the lateness of the hour after checking into the hotel and my husband's exhaustion from driving all day, he just wanted to go to bed; however, he needed to eat something (since all he ate was breakfast). Before ordering, I briefly spoke to manager Mike of Marlow's about "things." Needless to say, when I picked up my small food order, I was pleasantly surprised to see that manager Mike included a very nice surprise with my order! This is my first time in the Atlanta area and I'm here on a work trip. I couldn't decide where to eat, but Marlow's was attached to my hotel and I figured I'd give it a shot. Katelyn (Kat) was such a great server. She was so friendly and gave a great recommendation: tavern burger. I added Bacon and Cheddar to it and was glad I did. I also had two Patron margaritas and it was definitely what I needed after flying in from California on a red eye. The only thing I would change is that my fries were a tiny bit too greasy. I've been coming to Marlows for some time now and have, in general, enjoyed my experiences. Everyone is really friendly and try to be as accommodating as possible. My only wish is that they would expand their menu offerings to include more staples outside of burgers, salads. If you are lucky enough to find a seat at the bar and Bri is your bartender you will have a great time! She always takes care to ensure your drink of choice is made well and your food order comes out exactly how you wanted. Tonight was my first visit to Marlow's. I am from out of town and just wanted something close to my hotel. The menu looked good, but I wasn't sure. I've had not so great experiences with hotel restaurants before, but this was different. Brandon was super friendly and was an excellent server. The rest of the staff were all super friendly as well. The house chips were delicious - I would totally get those again! I ordered the steak and it was cooked perfectly and it had a great sauce with it. The carrots were a little too sweet for my taste, but that is totally just my preference because they were cooked perfectly. (Couldn't have been too terrible, I left a member of the clean plate club.) Don't be afraid, this place was a total treat. I may even have to go again before I leave. read more

There's a reasonable amount of people in here, not nearly enough to merit a now 52min wait for a to-go order. I seriously hope my food isn't cold or soggy. This is ridiculous. ***UPDATE*** I was too tired to update this last night, but as anticipated, the food was sub-par after waiting 54min for my to-go order. I ordered the Kettle Chips, Turkey Meat Loaf and Grain Bowl. Kettle Chips- Cold and contained very little cheese. Mostly just tomatoes. Turkey Meatloaf- Cold and dry. Cauliflower puree and shaved brussels portion was very small. Luckily I had a potato at home I was able to boil up, mash and add to the puree for a bit more sustenance. Grain bowl- Was also cold and a very small portion. Had to find something else to cook for this person's meal as well. Waited just under an hour for a to-go order and still had to go home and cook. The rooftop patio here is heaven to me. It didn't bother me that my drinking companion was 90 minutes late because I was so relaxed, enjoying my life on that patio. There's a covered side where the bar is, and an uncovered side towards the highway. The place was bustling with guests on a Thursday evening at 5:30 but it wasn't uncomfortably crowded. I can't comment much on the food. I had a side house salad which satisfied my tastebuds. It wasn't delicious but tasty enough. I also ordered their house kettle chips which were a little overcooked but served the purpose of providing substance to soak up the bourbon :) I'm definitely gonna keep this spot in mind when looking for a bar close to the house. read more

This Marlow's is a go to lunch spot for my husband and I so today we arrived and were seated quickly without any issue. Apparently, we we're seated in Jeremy's section and he wasn't next in the seating rotation. There was a small back & forth between Jeremy & the other servers which ended with us remaining seated in his section. The section was empty outside of a couple wrapping up their meal & a man waiting on the rest of his party. You can imagine our surprise when 20 minutes had gone by without so much as a greeting. Eventually, my husband went to alert someone to the fact that we'd been waiting since apparently Jeremy didn't see us sitting directly between the 2 tables he had. We were eventually greeted by a completely different waitress, Alana, who was immediately apologetic & attentive. Their servers are going to get a tip from you no matter what. What kind of criminals are you hiring? My question is how many people have you gotten like this? I work hard for my money and you think you can just take what you think you deserve. I have been calling the general manager Michael Shyne since Saturday. I have left messages for him to call and he has not return my call. I had to call and refuse to hang up to get him on the phone. He advised he would call back still waiting....They have customers sitting and talking for hours not eating or drinking. The manager on duty tells me they can't make people leave, if you are not eating you should not be able to just sit while other customers are waiting. I had one of the worse customer experiences here at this restaurant. I came here with my mom on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty crowded so I understood the wait for a table which was fine. When we were seated the waitress came over and let us know she would be taking care of us and said she would be right back. When she returned she sat our waters on the table and said she was going to give another table their drinks and she would be back. Now when she came back she asked if we were ready to order our entrees. She didn't ask if we wanted any drinks or anything. So we ordered our food and she didn't come back to our table until we got our food about 25 mins later and that's after I had to wave her down for carry out containers. In the meantime of us waiting for service, another waiter noticed that we had been sitting there a while and dropped a waffle off for us to split(Kudos to that gentleman). When we received our food, I ordered a salad and my mom ordered a burger and fries. She wasn't offered ketchup, mustard, mayo or anything. So after finally getting our waitress' attention, she brought our carry out containers and asked was something wrong with the food. Smh. I explained to her how displeased we were with her service and she stated that she had two big parties that she was taking care of. The size of your party shouldn't determine the quality of service that you receive. She sent her manager over who asked if there was anything that they could do. At that point the answer is no. I was really impressed with the menu at Marlow's Tavern. We had come in for a simple meeting and decided to stay for an early dinner and respite from the nasty summer heat and typical traffic. The ambiance is pretty nice and, I suppose, has more of a "tavern" feel with the exposed brick and semi-low lighting. I really dig the interior of this location as it is connected to a hotel right off of 285. Definitely a good spot for business, I'm sure. We started out with the J.T's Kettle Chips for an app and they were wonderful. Bacon on the side, of course. The gorgonzola was really nice as a topping and worked well with all of the scallions. We thoroughly enjoyed them throughout our meal and not just as an app. Definitely enough to split between 4 people, too. The Black and Blue Burger is awesome. Pretty basic with smoky bacon, but the gorgonzola, yet again, is a nice touch. I'd definitely order it again. Another thing I was pleasantly surprised by was the cocktail menu. Seriously. The Chamberry Spritz is not your average cocktail for a joint like Marlow's. Fennel Bitters, everyone. That's right. Also, the Grapefruit Ricky is awesome. St. Germaine is a fantastic addition. Had the black and bleu burger and it was delicious. The bacon was thick and crispy, fresh greens, juicy burger. The fries were good but I'd probably order a side salad instead next time. Service at the bar was fantastic. They greet you by name, make great suggestions on the menu, and are super responsive. Im staying at the Doubletree hotel which is attached, but I'll come back again even if I'm not staying at the hotel. Oh yeah, and the beer selection is pretty good - both draft and bottled. read more
