There is something about afternoon tea that makes my heart do a happy dance. You need to make an appointment a day in advance for the tea service. I couldn't figure out how to do it online so I did in person but I'm assuming you could call or email. The cafe is inside of Painted Tree. Painted Tree is filled with pretty decorations and gifts. The cafe is on the left hand side of the store and has an outdoor seating area. The afternoon tea was cute and delicious, and the service was very friendly. I thought it was completed with savory, scones, and fruits...then they brought me another plate full of desserts! You can have cafe menu items without making an appointment, and I saw some wine bottles so I guess you can have a brunch with a glass or two as well.

Here I am again, 11 years later…read more What's good? I guess this place has made it 11 years. What's funny? The prices haven't changed, and it's likely how they've stayed open this long; margins have to be phenomenal. 1 wrap (Southwest Wrap, no customization), 1 small salad with grilled tofu, no extras or sides or drinks, $35. (Both items had protein added at about $4 each add, totaling about $14+ each, then tip is added). The inside has been refreshed since 11 years ago, that's nice. Bright, airy, clean. Can't complain. Salad was good; I like being able to make my own. Quality is fine. Grilled Tofu only gives you 3-4 1.5" (cold) squares though, should have gotten the chicken. I feel for vegetarians/vegans. I miss Salad-and-Go. Market Street doesn't salad bar anymore. Whole Foods still does and has other options, too, so it's still hard to say this is anywhere near worth it. But I guess that's the price you pay for fresh and healthy. Too bad it's out of reach for normal folks, price-wise. If the small salad was a couple bucks cheaper this could be a winner. To knock a star off, on top of it being painfully expensive, I would expect delightful service. Instead, blank stares and robotic moves; nobody likes their job who works there apparently? I don't expect fake smiles, but service is part of the cost and value add.

I had the macadamia crusted sea bass and the short of it was it tastes like vacation. My husband had the steak frite. The steak was perfect with chimichiri on top. It was divine. But back to my sea bass, the pico was mango and raw jalepeno and onion and my fish sat on top of a bed of the softest and fluffiest potato's I've probably ever had. I had the si vous pear or whatever it was called as a drink and it is the only way I ever want my prosecco again in life. It was that good. We are waiting on the limoncello bread pudding and yes. Just get it. Totally worth it. This is one of my new favorite restaurants in town for SURE! The ambiance was nice ... the decor was soft and welcoming.. but the food. This food was real real good. and I don't know the scientist who came up with the portion sizes but they were perfect. Like we ate every thing and couldn't fit any more but didn't want any more either. Hands down I love this place.

Fortunately, the daily feature menu provided drink suggestions. When decision making had reached its weekly limit, the Kobe & Crab Smash Burger was ideal. Rather than choose between meat or seafood, the burger is surf & turf between two buns. Fries or onion rings? How about fried onions as a topping and beer-battered fries as a side? While the hatch chili aioli lacked the heat to compensate for the smorgasbord of toppings, it complemented the crab cake.

During my visit, I was rung up by a cashier named Chloe, whose behavior was entirely hostile, rude, and unprofessional. After she slammed my pita chips onto the countertop, I politely inquired about them. In response, Chloe began shouting at me in front of other guests. When I asked to speak with the store manager, Chloe completely disregarded my request, continued to speak loudly over me, and aggressively demanded to know what dressing I wanted. When the manager arrived, Chloe addressed them using highly dismissive language, stating, "This woman wants you." To escalate the situation further, as I was leaving the store, Chloe continued to smile and wave at me in an intentionally mocking and antagonizing manner. As a customer, I expect to be treated with basic dignity and respect. The behavior displayed by Chloe is a severe violation of standard customer service ethics and reflects poorly on the CAVA brand. I respect your establishment, but I cannot overlook this level of harassment. Furthermore, I noticed that the food portions served during this visit were significantly smaller than what is standard for CAVA. Combined with the aggressive and mocking treatment I received from the staff, I am deeply concerned that I was targeted and subjected to racial bias and discriminatory treatment. No customer should be given smaller portions or hostile service based on their race
