A neighborhood institution. Adan and his family have been serving authentic, refined but cozy Mexican food along with five star hospitality for decades. The vibes are top notch and when I say the best damn margaritas ive ever had, I mean it. There isnt a thing I wouldnt recommend. Always a pleasure to be here.

Chile Ahogada

I can not express enough how service went great for us. We wanted to participate in their Suenos giveaway and try their Cinco de Mayo specials (La Bandera, Vino de Misión, Chile Ahogada). But we didn't notice the time and were going to arrive 5 minutes before closing time. However, we called and they told us they could take our order over the phone and have us in. It was the end of our anniversary weekend so we appreciated this accommodation very much! It was a very relaxing place, a bit upscale. So do keep in mind that this is a bit on the pricier time but worth it! The watermelon margarita was surprisingly good and we both don't even like watermelon! Chile Ahogada was quite different- It's definitely complex and worth the try. You can not seem to go wrong with the carne y camarones combo. It's a classic. If you want dessert, definitely try the tequila tres leches. Thank you again, Mas Allá Del Sol! We would come back again.

Was so surprised to find this place wasn't packed on Sunday evening. We had a pitcher of prickly pear margaritas, which were delicious and refreshing. The chips and salsa were delicious, though the second dish of salsa was much spicier than the first. The chicken fajitas were so good, loved the veggies, and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The tortillas Were homemade and so good, loved spending an evening here and look forward to my next visit. They also have a small patio.

Lovely outdoor patio area!! I ordered the tilapia taco dinner that was slightly plain and overpowered by the avocado for $24 with tax which I found outrageous. It was quite busy so service was delayed but still friendly.

I stopped in after a festival in Andersonville and they did not disappoint! The food was good, margs were strong, and our server was so kind and sweet!! Definitely check them out if you're in the Edgewater/Andersonville area!

If looking for higher end Mexican cuisine, look no further! We ordered the guacamole with everything which means pomegranate, mango and jicama and it was so good, creamy guac with the sweetness from the fruit and the crunch from the jicama. I always feel like ordering salmon is a cop out, but the salmon dish at Mas Alla Del Sol was incredible. The servers and hosts were all very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is large enough to have different "sections" with different ambiance, and I enjoyed the dim lighting and the color scheme. Their bar is also quite beautiful. I would definitely come back here to try more dishes!

Excellent food and service; dog friendly patio. But $65 for a carafe of margaritas is ridiculous, and left a bitter taste in my mouth.

The food was really good. A little pricey for Mexican food. The guac was small but everything was tasty

The Chronicles of Ragebaiting My Brother continue…read more My brother is a die hard Chicago fan. He visited once during a college internship in 08 and decided he would move to this city. Shout out to him for doing the damn thing. Although I would like to mention it was I who named it and claimed it for myself way back in 2001 after a visit to the city for a college conference. However me and my bestie couldn't figure out how to make it happen on a 20,000 labor organizer salary lmao. So we remain on the east coast while my swagger jacking little brother paints the Windy City red. Anyway because he's so in love with this city and knows its in and outs, I often send him dubious "influencer content" of recent transplants that act like just because THEY just Columbus'd a new spot it must be new to EVERYONE. And the recommendations are often awful and likely paid for (extorted). It sends him into a rage which again - we love. My fave kind of terrible content to send him is Top 10 burger spots in Chicago. The lists are often wrong, outdated, and criminally under seasoned. Every once in a while though there is a fleeting moment of alignment and Little Bad Wolf is it. This truly may be the best burger in Chicago. Food: -Wolf burger - egg fried HARD for me -Bad burger - add egg for my brother -Bad burger - as is for my mom -crab cakes - for SIL -mashed potato- for the toddler -Brussels sprouts for the table The patties were well seasoned and melted in my mouth. I adore crispy onion straws. Beer was crisp and refreshing. Service was outstanding Perfect vibe on a midday Monday Bench and chair seating for all bodies. 100% worth the hype! The menu description is also a good way to annoy your loved ones. See pics for my friend's visceral reaction lmaooo

The ambiance is chic, warm, and welcoming. It is also a spacious building with a bit more seating than Little Bad Wolf, so that is nice. We went from a 1.5 hour wait at Little Bad Wolf to almost an immediate seating at the Good Wolf's bar. You can't beat that! The bartender/waiter, Zach, was great! He took good care of us, making us feel welcomed and answering any questions we had as first timers! I got the charred boulevardier cocktail and my spouse got a local IPA beer on tap. We both loved our beverages and were very happy! To eat, we started with the brown butter broccolini side. It was so delicious, decadent, and flavorful. We will definitely get this again! For entrees, I got the duck gnocchi and it was divine. Perfectly filling, delightfully flavorful, and high quality! My spouse got the fish and chips and loved it! I tried a bite and loved how crisp the fish was! And the giardiniera aioli was scrumptious! Prices were reasonable for such a high quality meals. And the space was clean and welcoming. We loved it! We can't wait to go back. We are thrilled to have another great dinner spot in the Andersonville neighborhood!

I ordered the But a Dream cocktail and Steak Tartare. The cocktail was very refreshing and had a good level of sweetness to it. You could definitely taste the citrus flavors in it which I enjoyed. The entrance to the bar is located to the left of Lonesome Rose, which gives it a hideaway feel. The décor is lovely and the vibe is cozy and chill. I kind of felt like I was in a Western bar with the big bull head starting down at me. I would say that for parties of 2 to 4, this is a good joint to hang out in, but any larger groups, I did not see a space to accommodate more than 4 people. The night we were there, they had a cool 80s playlist going and that was nice to sit and chair dance while drinking my cava. The Doctor liked the fact that the beer was really cold. And I loved that they had sparkling wine. There is a small section on the menu for food: chips/salsa, Chile con queso, guacamole, Heartbreaker Burger (Chorizo Smash Patty, Grilled Onion, Cilantro, Chile Con Queso, Pickled Jalapeno, Shredded Lettuce, Jalapeno Ranch, Sesame Seed Bun) and Truck Stop Nachos. I got the Truck Stop Nachos (Black Beans, Queso, Pickled Red Onions, Pickled Peppers, Tomato, Crema). You have the option to add Picadillo Beef, Chorizo, or Carne Asada as protein. But you also have the option to have it vegan. I went with steak. Overall this was a nice snack but would have liked a little more steak added to it. I am not sure if you can order from the menu of Lonesome Rose, but the next time we go, I will ask about that. And I have to remember not to call Lonesome Rose, Lonesome Dove (the novel and mini-series). The selection of cocktails is decent, and it is nice that they have non-alcoholic beverages as well. For those that like hard seltzers, they have those as well as a "Toke Cosmic Berry", which is a THC seltzer. Service was nice, the bartender was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be adding this to our rotation of happy hour places.

What I got was one of the more unique and interesting cocktails I'd tried! It was the Sick Day, and while I don't command the English language or my palate enough to do it justice, I can tell you that it was definitely a great sipper. The absinthe mist, despite being just that, has a way of doing that. I want to give some credit to the service. While the bar was shorthanded at the time, the barman on duty did his very best as a one-man show. Can't fault them too much, someone calls out sick last minute, and that's that. However, if there is something I can hold against them it's the heat! I'm not sure why, but the upon coming in, the place was HOT! After settling in, it became more bearable, but this is the kind of thing that sometimes persuades me to leave before I order anything.

Carlos, our waiter, was so knowledgeable and friendly. He clearly has tried everything on the menu and has a deep understanding of flavors and pairings. what not miss - 1. fried artichoke - heavenly, fried to perfection 2. blue cheese + pear dipping - so smokey you'd think there was bacon in it, with the perfect tang of the pear / mustard flavors. (this plate was something I NEVER thought I'd order and enjoy, I'm not a blue cheese fan normally) 3. short rib wellington - I rarely eat meat, but wow it's so tender and the spread in the bowl pairs effortlessly. The pastry on the outside wasn't doing the dish any favors but didn't take away from it either. A small portion for the price so definitely a special occasion plate IMO LGBTQI+ friendly atmosphere. Was not crowded on a Thursday late night. Great prices on small plates + many pour sizes to fit your budget. What I didn't like- Very close to your booth side neighbors with little separation, I would recommend a stand alone table for more intimate dining. Also, I would enjoy it to be a bit darker (yes it was dark already, give me even more) and the music a bit louder. The check came, I gave my card, the check came back with an extra drink on it that they forgot to add before giving me the check. I will absolutely be back!

For an extra $15, it made sense to order the prix fixe menu with the wine pairings. A cocktail likely would have cost more. The soup and salad were delicious and paired perfectly with great wines. We all loved our entrees, although I suspect I loved my short rib wellington a little harder. I'm not a huge desert person but I can't stop thinking about that Nutella creme brulee. Also paired with a great dessert wine-- possibly the only dessert wine I have ever really liked! Yes the portions are a little smaller for restaurant week, but with four courses I was happy to not feel like a glutton at the end. Incredibly thoughtful and knowledgeable service made this a great choice for dinner. The space is well laid out too. We didn't feel like we were sitting on top of people, and it was easy to have a conversation even when the room was pretty full.
