I used to love this place and was a regular customer for years. I understand prices go up, and that doesn't bother me, but my last experience was disappointing. The menu has changed and my favorite dish is no longer available, which was already a letdown. The bigger issue was when our server brought the handheld payment device to the table. We reviewed the bill and said it looked correct, but before handing it back, the highest tip option was selected and added automatically before my card was charged. I didn't notice until I got back to my car and saw the final amount. I was shocked and disappointed. The atmosphere is still great, the concept is unique, and the food is very good. However, it never felt like much of a locals' spot. Despite visiting many times over the years, the bartenders never seemed to recognize us or make us feel particularly welcome. The hosts often came across as young and disengaged. I was disappointed with mas taco. I ordered two elote corn on the cob and I was given two cups full of corn with mayo on top. I did ask for no chile but there was zero cojita cheese and barely any cilantro. It was just mayo corn. Not to mention it had no flavor whatsoever, no salt or pepper. I ordered two carne asada tacos, an al pastor taco and a birria taco with all corn shells. Since when is Al pastor spicy? It was very spicy. Also, the carnitas meat looked exactly the same as the Al pastor but they threw in some pineapples. The one thing I liked was the birria taco. Have been here multiple times and it's a really great location if you're looking for a place to have dinner with friends or family. The inside is spacious and beautiful, they have covered outdoor seating, lots of bar seating, and parking is right in front of the restaurant. The staff are nice, the food is great, and the drinks are also tasty. I haven't been to this location in a bit, but it's off of Fair Oaks and Watt, two main roads so it's not hard to be able to get here from different areas of town. The seating is plentiful at booths, tables or the bar and has a nice patio outside area with comfortable seating throughout. The cocktails are tasty and not too small! But it's really the tacos that keep me coming back, street style with a long list of choices. The service has been mostly good but occasionally slow, however the vibe is relaxed so the pace is slower and more relaxed which is preferred. They have traditional tacos and some unique tacos, with Pork Al Pastor my go to with pineapple and marinated pork that always satisfies, Drunken Chicken with its tomatillo and beer braised chicken, Baja Fish is blackened salmon with tapatio aioli and jalapenos, Pork Carnitas is juicy and always a pleaser, and the more exotic Bahn Mi Shrimp served on a delicious split bun, and the Thai Beef is always flavorful! My friend and I decided to stop by after work for a few happy hour tacos and had a great time together. We decided to sit on the patio to enjoy the weather and it was very well decorated. We loved our cocktails! She got the Peach and Guava and I got the dragonfruit and they were both delicious. My friend got the fish taco and I got the carnitas taco. Both were good with the toppings and seasonings. I usually prefer my carnitas to be a little softer and mine was a little dry and well cooked. I'm giving this restaurant five stars because it has good service, a cool atmosphere, cold beer, generous portions, and great 1/2 price happy hour deals on food. I stopped in for happy hour and order grilled corn for $2.12, Mas Fries for $6.25, and a bikini blond ale for $7.00. The corn was topped with mayonnaise, chili powder, cotija cheese, and cilantro, but mostly on the top, so it could have used a more even coat. The Mas Fries were doused in generous portion of steak, cilantro crema, guacamole, avocado, roasted poblanos, yellow corn, red peppers, and cotija cheese. The fries were so big, I almost tapped out and ask for a doggie bag, but managed to power my way through them. It helped that I had an ice cold, refreshing to was everything down. Well, it was a lot of food for $8.37, so I'm looking forward to my next face-stuffing visit. But it's not just about the food. First time came here on Tuesday at 2 pm. Service was slow even though it was pretty empty. Took awhile for the waiter to come take our order. The only thing we all liked was the habanero fire balls. We ordered these tacos: pork al pastor, drunken chicken, Baja fish, and birria. Meat was rough on all the tacos and food was cold. Also, ordered enchiladas de pollo. Meat was burnt and dried. Honestly I don't get out tomorrow's Taco very often. I do enjoy their Rewards program because they always give me $10 around my birthday. The Happy Hour is M-F 3pm-5pm and so worth it! Half off appetizers and $1 off certain tacos. I was looking forward to these tacos but unfortunately, they need improvement. The Pork Belly and Korean fried chicken tacos were extremely dry and tough. Too much breading. The tortillas were also slightly stale. The Beef Short Rib tacos were better, and the best were the Birrea. Al pastor was flavorful, but also a bit dry. The chicken tamales were great. I've had better homemade tamales though. Would have liked them more if they added black olives. Their sauce was very tasty though. I could feel the love in that. I go here from time to time for their easy bites and margaritas. I recently stopped in with my kids. We tried the nachos and the loaded fries (both appetizers). They have a very fusion menu, the pork belly taco was really good. And they do have some nice beers. The waiters and the ambiance are great. The restaurant was really clean. It was our first time there, so we decided to order many different tacos. We were told that the tacos were "street style." So we ordered 2 asada (steak), an oyster(?I can't remember if it was this or a different seafood one), potato, chicken, and al pastor. To only say these were the most expensive bland tacos is an understatement. The tortillas were probably pressed by a hot plate because they didn't have any oil or crisp to them. I could tell the meat was not freshly made. The tacos were topped with sauces that were not spicy and didn't taste like anything. The best thing here was the tostadas that were over salted. I'd rather have the Taco Tuesday and Happy Hour discounts. I'm not going to have 10 tacos (really at $4 each-- not much off their original price of $4.50-$4.95). I had four tacos. The weren't great. They were just okay. The chicken was dry.. Didn't take good. The service was just alright. A little lacking, honestly. And it wasn't like it was super packed considering it was Cinco de Mayo.
