Solid sushi I like the fact the regular rolls aren't too big. This definitely has more of a take out vibe. We stood at doorway not sure if we were suppose to seat our self or not. That was confusing until someone noticed we weren't getting take out and told us to sit. The QR code was on menu and table so i actually thought for 10 min that we didn't have an actual server and that was the only to order. Front and back door both are used. I am curious in the dead of winter if it's remotely warm inside. The regular sushi set was $22 and comes with soup or salad. A pretty good price . Would have liked a hot tea option. It hits all the points for what we tried . The food: Chicken fried rice was basically just a plate of reg steamed rice colored with maybe soy sauce. Very little chicken, few vegetables. Bland, not much flavor. The teriyaki chicken bento was equally nondescript. The same non-fried rice, chicken breast was very dry with no discernible teriyaki flavor, the other items were not at all interesting or flavorful. Found Masa on Yelp while I was on this side of town. I was craving sushi and this was the closest location. When I walked in I was the only patron during the lunch hour, which was a little concerning at first. However, as I sat down and scanned the menu, I realized how many pickup orders they were pumping out! So many! I was greeted and brought water and soy sauce. They have QR on the table so I was able to order on my phone. The app came out first pretty quickly and followed by the roll soon after, but enough time to finish one before the other showed up. I started with the Yellowtail Jalapeno and it was delicious. Fish was fresh, the cucumber and jalapenos were fresh and the jalapeno had a nice heat to them. Definitely enough to split for an app! I also got the Tiger Roll and it was so good! I don't think I have had one like this before! Loved the crunch and the fish on top. Sauce was good, too. I like mine spicier but it was fine for a one pepper designation. My bill came quickly and I was in and out in under 30 minutes. The restaurant was clean, lots of tables, and spacious. I would definitely come back! Esp if you can be in and out for lunch in under 30 - no need to get take out then. read more

We decided to try Masa for takeout the other night, for the first time. We ordered online and it was ready very quickly. We decided to get a variety of things to try: spring rolls, sushi rolls, hibachi, and ramen bowl. There were some good and not so good. Let's start with the good! The spring rolls were good. You get 2 with each order with a side of dipping sauce. Also, the sushi was very tasty! I had a salmon roll and it was very fresh! So that being said, I would definitely try more of their sushi again. The not so good: hibachi and ramen bowl. Unfortunately the teriyaki chicken was a little dry. Rice and vegetables were not that flavorful. I tried the Karaka ramen bowl. It was supposed to be spicy and definitely had plenty of spice. But the broth was just lacking in flavor. The broth can make or break a ramen bowl. The pork was pretty good. But I didn't really want to finish it due to the broth. So overall, it was not a total bust. My roommate and I just moved into an apartment complex near by. One day after work I craved sushi but didn't want to spend a million dollars and didn't want meijer sushi. I looked at the map to see what was near and I found this place. Great sushi for a great price. After that i introduced this place to my roommate and she also fell in love. She used to hate crab rangoons and now she loves them because of masa. Elite rangoons. We love this place and eat it almost everyday. There is always one man serving and he is great! The restaurant is family owned and operated. I love that! Located within a strip mall store front. Had a big parking lot available close. The facility was clean, well lit and smelled good. We sat at the counter. There is a QR code to scan to pull up the menu of a paper copy of your prefer to flip. This is definitely a hidden gem. The staff is friendly, and fast. I watched this man Hussle. Taking delivery orders, seating people, cashing out AND hand rolling sushi rolls. I had miso soup. Came fast and hot. Was delicious. Jeff ordered three different sushi rolls: California roll, spicy tuna and spicy salmon. I had the eel roll with a chick and fried rice kicker. Yummmmm. Also the fried wonton we shared definitely was hit and tasty. We drank hot tea and water. There is no alcohol here but they do offer bubble tea if you're into that. Great find. Stopped here for dinner on a Sunday; it is located in an unassuming strip mall and had minimal decor, but we were here for good food, which is what we got. Probably thrives on carry-out service (saw a DoorDash driver and multiple individuals picking up food), but plentiful and comfortable dining was available. Had the 'steak & shrimp' hibachi which absolutely met expectations (ordered with double white rice instead of rice + soup or salad). Wife thought the 'crazy tuna roll' was a delicious departure/elevation from the standard spicy tuna option with pepper tuna inside (though the crunch on top did not come through). She also assessed her 'chicken fried rice' as fairly standard but a bit under-seasoned (easily remedied with soy sauce). It would benefit from more variety of veggies as a dinner entree. My sister and I were waiting for family to arrive, and we discovered that we had 1 hour to kill before they arrived. We were checking local restaurants near us, we saw the listed menu and the images of recent reviews and could not pass up this place. We were greeted when we entered the restaurant, and sat ourselves as they requested us to. The printed menu we were given was easy to look through, so many good choices. There was also a QR code menu on the website if you prefer. The area was clean and organized, and the soft music in the background was fun. My husband and I ordered takeout yesterday for lunch. I got the pick 2 sushi and he got the hibachi. We both liked what we ordered and will be back for sure. I had the eel cucumber roll and the tempura shrimp roll - it came with soup or salad but I didn't eat it so I can't rate it. My husband got a combination of steak and shrimp hibachi and said it was even better than the usual place we go to. In fact - he is probably going to order it again for dinner today. Let's just say that this was my second trip here in less than a week! Our first visit we ate everything before I remembered to take photos. This place is unassuming and could easily be missed in the strip mall location. It's worth finding! Seriously good food. It's fresh, fast, and portions are ample. Both visits we started with the crab cheese. Crispy and delicious with a nice sweet crab flavor. Truth be told, I don't like sweet and sour sauce so I didn't try it until today. Oh man! It's tangy a bit spicy and very good. All the rolls were excellent. It was my first experience with soybean wrappers and I prefer them to seaweed. It allows you to really get the flavor of the ingredients in the roll. We also tried the steak habachi with friend rice on our first visit. It came with a salad or soup (we opted for salad). Had a whole lobster tail, sweet scallops, shrimp and vegetables with a lightly spiced Ramen broth. It arrived hot which is rare for Ramen delivery. The sushi was fresh with very nice cuts and knife work. I would definitely order again. My only real complaint was that there were no napkins included with the order, so I had to use a washcloth from the bathroom as a napkin. We were excited to try this sushi place so close to home! We stopped in for lunch today and it was delicious! The server and staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the gyoza, miso soup, and several sushi rolls. Everything we had was comparable to other sushi places we've tried. We always order the same few rolls to compare. The sushi display was beautiful and all ingredients were very fresh. They did not have hot tea but our server said they will have it available in the future. Mass hasn't even been open a week yet.
