The four of us had the very delicious Chiken Fried Pepperoni for an app along with the chicken/biscuits along with the Cioppino. Both were yummy. The Cioppino was a little on the spicy side though. NOTICE. Be sure to save room for the Cake Bowl dessert and be prepared to share with your friends. OMG. Delicious cake stuffed with ice cream and fruit. Noting wrong here. Update: I recently removed my negative review. I thought it was only fair that after management reached out and so generously payed for another visit that I give them another try. My first visit was a series of unfortunate events and honestly I was not planning on ever going back. Now I'm not sure if being busy was the root of all the issues so my second visit was on a late Tuesday night. The place was still full but not as hectic as before. This time I received great service! I do have to give a shot out to our waiter Jeffery. Jeff was great. My meal was good, but most importantly the drinks we had were much better made then the last time. I will be back. I made a reservation ( not sure why since we were seated in the bar) Not really knowing much about this place I glanced at the yelp reviews and made my reservation through yelp. Nonetheless. I was anything but impressed. it's basically a BAR had I done more reading I would have not wasted my time. what I wanted to be a romantic New Years Eve dinner with my Boyfriend turned into a loud unromantic dinner sitting in a Bar "I Don't even drink." being that it was NYE there was no walking out so we ordered. I don't understand what all the hype is about this place? I'm guessing most of the reviews are made after a few Drinks? If you want basic bar food and lots of moonshine then yes I guess this would be the place for you. If the food had been of the chart delicious then I would have given a higher rating the service was as basic as the food. my boyfriend got the meatloaf and forgot to ask for the smaller portion, we got the waiters attention (shortly after him taking the order) to let him know and instead of correcting it he blew it off. My favorite restaurant in TX. Love the food and servers. We are regulars at mash'd. Love so many things on the menu, but the legit guacamole and pineapple bomb are amazing, you should definitely try them. Lots of flavorful options, there's definitely something for everybody here. We tried this place out recently with some of our friends. We started off with the Salmon Bruschetta (3-stars) which the server recommended -- I was a bit disappointed with this, but maybe my expectations were too high. The Fried Chicken (4-stars) was better than the bruschetta, but again maybe my expectations were too high for this. My wife ordered the Avocado Bomb (5-stars) and this really blew me away with the flavor and freshness of the entire dish. Because we were celebrating a friend's birthday, they also gave us a complimentary Scotch Cake (5-stars), which we all enjoyed quite a bit. Overall, I am wavering between whether we should give this place 4 stars or 5 stars. Based on how I rated the food above, it would make more sense to rate this as 5-stars overall. However, for most places I give a 5-star rating to, those are places I'd want to back and eat at soon and highly recommend to others too -- and Mash'd just doesn't fall into that category for me so I can only give it a 4-star rating. read more

This place is a nice little surprise in a shopping center. When you walk through the door you see a sign/board that says MOONSHINE. You have to be intrigued by that alone. You are greeted with a warm smile. Then the waitress comes over and she is so enthusiastic it's contagious. The menu has something for everyone. We ordered the queso dip. It was good but a different kind of queso. It's hard to describe. The chips and pretzels they serve with it are really tasty. I ordered the turkey burger which was really juicy and had great flavor. Plus the fries with the homemade ketchup is a win. We also tried the chicken which is crispy and tender. All in all a great quick lunch spot. I will be back to try some more things. Overall: 3/5 Atmosphere and ambiance: 4/5 Food: 3/5 The design and layout of the restaurant was really eclectic and fun. The rustic upbeat vibe with the long bar on side, wooden tables, hipster-esque stickers gave a really relaxing and pleasant atmosphere that was pleasing to the eye. I really loved the newspaper themed menus, and the service was spot on. My meal consisted of: Cheesy corn and spinach dip: 4/5 Rebellious burger (w/ pickle): 2.5/5 Chicken and biscuits: 3.5/5 Cheesy corn and spinach dip: definitely the highlight of the meal. The cheesy corn and spinach dip itself was extremely flavorful. Had a perfect amount of balance between the natural saltiness of the cheese, the sweetness of the corn, and the lushness of the spinach. All three components intertwined fabulously. Accompanying the dip are fresh slightly salted chips. Super crispy and everything you would want in a chip. Rebellious burger: Overall a mediocre burger to begin with. When ordering the burger you have the option of choosing between fries or a salad. I chose fries..... obviously lol. The two patty burger was thin, they bacon could've been more crispy for the contrast in texture, but the egg was perfectly cooked and was extremely runny. The fries were thin cut fries. Really well seasoned and came in a decent amount. The house made ketchup was a nice accompaniment to the fries and burger which really needed the acidity and brightness to counteract the heavy burger. Chicken and biscuits: the chicken was well seasoned and fried really well. What brought down this aspect of the dish was the lack of chicken. The chicken we were served was majority batter rather than meat which was a disappointing because it actually tasted really good and not too heavy. The biscuits were fantastic! You could definitely taste the chorizo. Super buttery, flakey and flavorful. The lowest part of this dish was the gravy. Again like the burger was a tad bit too heavy and definitely needed some acidity or brightness to counterbalance it. It was still really good, I just couldn't each much of it because it was just too one toned. Overall a really good place of food! All in all I really enjoyed my time at Mash'd! Definitely will explore other options next time and see how it goes! read more

I love love love this restaurant! I would actually make the drive out to Frisco for the food. I tried this restaurant because I was in the area and I remembered recently bookmarking it based on a ROTD. Glad I made it in just in time to order food (the kitchen closes at 10 pm but the restaurant/bar remains open until 11 pm. I highly recommend the Fried Chicken! It isn't what you think either. It isn't your basic drumstick and a thigh. This is that gourmet fried chicken served with a size of jalapeño marmalade (which I didn't care too much for because of the sweetness factor but it was a creative substitute in place of ketchup or gravy). I still asked for my side of ketchup. It came as two chicken breasts or it seemed like two chicken breast patties chopped up and propped up on the plate (the portion size was huge). The mashed potatoes were awesome! Creamy with texture and the skin of the potatoes included! I wish they had some gravy to accompany it but the mashed potatoes were seasoned well enough that I didn't miss it (and I am a "drench your mashed potatoes and fried chicken in gravy" kind of girl). I really enjoyed the Organic Berry Splash drink, which was recommended by the waiter. It was served in a cute little mason jar and it had muddled organic berries throughout the drink. It was strong but the whiskey sneaks up on you. As I drank it, I could taste the alcohol but it tasted like the usual fruity, mixed drink. Very good drink! I would definitely order again. I love the decor of this restaurant (reminds me of Whiskey Cake but more of a sports bar feel because of all the tvs). I also love the service here. Fast and friendly. read more

First off, Dasha was a great waitress. She's knowledgeable of the menu, attentive and friendly. As soon as we sat in the bar area, she was over to the table, very quickly. Everything was piping hot when she brought it out. I was sleepy when I got there, so I won't bother with recalling what the restaurant looked like, other than the fact that is was clean. I think we got there around 1:30 p.m. on last Friday. I will say that there are plenty of television screens, on at least 3 things, to look at while your are waiting. The corn and spinach dip was delicious and it even reheated nicely, the next freaking day, at home. Like, when food tastes just as good the next day, it was bomb. I normally don't even eat corn in anything, but that stuff was a treasure. The Alaskan flounder was delicious. I was easily able to flake the filet with my fork. It had some kind of lemony sauce drizzled on it and it was refreshing. It was served over a bed of some kind of white rice, that was cooked perfectly. There was also some kind of cucumber medley and some relish. I forgot to take a picture of the menu to help guide my memory of the pleasantries, but it was good stuff. This place used to be a favorite for us but it's gone pretty downhill lately. We came in yesterday and it took almost 10 min for our server to come to our table to greet us, bring menus, etc. We ordered two knock out punch drinks and an appetizer. She brought us two appetizers which we told her we only ordered one but it was fine, we'd eat it. The knock out punch tasted totally different, almost like a red bull mixed with strawberries. It used to be so delicious and refreshing. Lastly, our dinner came and my chicken sandwich was bright pink in the center. The Caesar salad had so much dressing on it and the dressing tasted spoiled and sour. To top it off, we had to wait another ten min to tell our server my chicken was undercooked and at that point I just wanted to leave. So two appetizer charges, a foul cocktail and an undercooked chicken sandwich later we decided we wouldn't be back for a long time. read more

If you haven't been here, then who are you even? This place is my go-to place here in Frisco. The food is absolutely amazing. For first timers I always recommend their chicken and biscuits. Once you try them you will be hooked. Brunch is great with their bloody Mary's and mimosas. If you're wanting a healthy brunch option the K&Q omelet is so ridiculously good you don't even know you're eating healthy. There is a wait for the dining room sometimes but they are very accommodating and the wait is never too long. If you don't want to wait go to the bar they have plenty of seats! Alex is a great server and an all around great guy. Get to know him. If you're at the bar ask for Riley or Kayliegh. They are the most amazing girls ever!!! This is a great place to grab a few drinks and watch sports with some buddies. The food here is excellent. I had the bulgogi tacos the first time I came here, and they were splendid. I recommended them to a friend on my second visit here, and he devoured them joyously haha. The chips and queso are a nice starter, and for entrees, we also tried the shepherd's pie and fried chicken. The pie was hearty and filling, and the fried chicken was thin cut white and dark meat with a sweet, tangy sauce to accompany it. Their beer selection is decent, but where Mash'd stands out is their selection of moonshine cocktails. I will definitely be coming back to try some, along with the lamb-shank that is only served after 4pm! read more

We were invited to eat by the restaurant. Our meal was complimentary. First and foremost, I have to say how amazing our waiter, Brier, was. She was so sweet and knowledgeable! She answered every question I had, had great descriptions of the menu items and drinks, and make some really great suggestions for us to try. A break down of what we had: Chicken fried Pepperoni - Weirdly good. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this one. I like pepperoni on pizza just fine, but eating a whole bunch of it rolled up? I wasn't sure. I was pleasantly surprised! Legit Guacamole - I wasn't sure what to think when the menu said the guacamole had pineapple in it. After all, why mess with a good thing? But this guac was really good! It wasn't spicy at all (I might could have used a little heat in mine, but that's personal preference) and there were plenty of chips that came with it. Pineapple Bomb - Delicious. So SO good. I was afraid to try moonshine at first. Every moonshine I've ever heard of was made in a shack in the woods somewhere and would singe your nosehairs off, but not this stuff! It was really tasty! The Pineapple moonshine had hints of cinnamon and vanilla bean and it was like nothing I've ever had before. I will get this drink again the next time I go. It's not potent, it's just a delicious cocktail. Cherry Moonshine Margarita - I'm not a huge cherry person, but this cocktail was good. It doesn't have an overtly cherry taste and you can't taste the alcohol in it, but it is most definitely there. Overall, it has more of a cherry limeade kind of taste. Very good. Berry Good Lemonade - This cocktail features blueberry infused moonshine and it was good, but the others were better. Bulgogi Tacos - I wanted to bathe in that garilc soy sauce mixture that the beef was soaked in. Oh so good. They were flavorful and not too heavy. The akuashi beef from Heartbrand Ranch was dynamite! I love that support local farmers and artisans by where they source their products! Moonshine BBQ Pizza - This stuff is dynamite. I wouldn't so much call it pizza because it doesn't have that traditional crust you'd think of though. It kind or reminds me or cheesy garlic bread. It's that consistency. The Wisconsin brick cheese that's mixed into the dough creates a nice char on the outside (can we say crispy cheese bits? yum). The flavors were great! Trifle - This thing was SO good. If I could buy just those butterscotch ships, I would buy them by the bucket full. The textures and flavors all really complimented each other. Straws are available on request. They have biodegradable ones that are better for the environment. Can customize everything here because everything is made in house and fresh to order. Everything was super fresh and delicious. I highly recommend going to this restaurant and I look forward to trying out their other locations as well. read more

So disappointed with the changes since reopening. Can only see menu on phone which is very difficult as you age. No longer have legit guacamole on menu. Changed the hamburger beef to Kobe TX which is not near the quality of the prior beef they served. Ice tea was ultra bitter. Told the manager and she didn't do anything except to state she wasn't their prior to the pandemic. Used to be one of our favorite places and now we probably won't return. What a shame they ruined such a great Appreciate your response but by your own comments clearly show the guac isn't the same. And the manager told us it was removed from the menu. The beef is not the same quality as the prior beef in spite of your comments. Menus should be available on request for those of us who can't read tiny print on phones as that is what all other restaurants are doing. Finally the tea was clearly then made incorrectly or made in dirty urns as it was ultra bitter. We used to come all the time before the pandemic and send our friends but will no longer do either moving forward. read more

OMG!!! That's almost all I could say. I had a dish of chicken and bisquit. It was so delicious unless I was unusually hungry. When the dish came out it was smoother in this very tasty yet a bit of a bite gravy. I have a mushroom allergy and this gravy was enough to make me want to suffer the consequences of eating mushrooms. The waiter went and asked for ingredients but it included no mushrooms. So I was safe to continue eating. The chicken was very clean with a nice crisp breaded top. The bisquit you can tell was a grandma's recipe for back in the day. My husband tried a knockout punch which was mixed with moonshine. I took a sip it was very tasty and highly recommended. The fruits in it were so fresh that I ate them from the red solo cup that it was served in. I will be back, that's for darn sure to try other menu items. read more

Only reason for 3 rating is - it got uncomfortably hot towards the end of the brunch. Great atmosphere; ate on the patio, which was great--relaxed and listened to music ( which I have to say was odd but I still loved it--one minute it was country and the next minute it was 80's Rock--Motley Crüe). Today I will be writing a review on mash'd This is one of my favorite restaurants in the frisco area. Everything in this restaurant is done right, from the atmosphere, the layout and the service this restaurant is exquisite. The fried pepperoni appetizers where amazing and the chicken and biscuits had an amazing texture and the gravy that can on top of it was as good is it gets. This restaurant is a pricey but it was definitely worth it.
