Consistently consistent. Love the lobster rolls at Mason's Famous. Stuffed with tasty crab on a fresh bun with several styles to choose from. I'd eat here every week if my budget and cholesterol could handle it. Great service and a clean restaurant. Friendly owner and staff tops off a great reason to give them a try.

When you are in the mood for something pink and tasty, come to Mason's! Service is amazing, warm, and genuine. Ambiance is good. Rolls are filled to the brim with ______. A bit too much mayonnaise for my taste, but otherwise delicious! But mostly, come here for the rolls! Try the MD crab soup! It's also really good and not too salty. Nom Nom Nom!

Pretty tasty Connecticut Lobster roll. It's $23, about the same price as Panera Bread but a lot better. My lobster roll had plenty of lobster meat with lots of butter on a warm buttery roll. Been to their Rehoboth Beach location couple of times. Glad it opened in Gaithersburg. I would take a pass on the tater tots as they were soggy.

Lobster bisque... tomato base was over powering.. do I recommend? NO.

2.5 After seeing a movie, I was in the mood for lobsta! For a Saturday afternoon, i had expected the restaurant to be busy! No ... just two people at a table red flag! I go to the register... no one is there... So I wait... nothing.. I shake my keys... even fake cough to get someone to come out.... nope.. I know the employee hears me cuz they are in the back... I finally yell I out a HELLO!!! Finally, a woman appears.. i said oh I thought you were closing lol. She didn't apologize or anything. I got the Connecticut Roll . $21 You get nothing besides a wilted pickle... Let me tell you, I've been to Boston and I had the real deal. This mess is not happening.. not worth it! My bread was barely toasted! It could have got soggy of i didn't eat it promptly. Yes it's bland!! It lacks flavor. Lobster doesn't taste fresh.. Luke's Lobster is better. In Annapolis they have better options. After reading the reviews, i don't see this place lasting long. DONT get the soup.

Came here after seeing a movie and we were so excited to finally try this location since it's close by to us. We were greeted by a nice lady at the register so that was a great way to start the experience. The ambiance was your typical fast casual town center vibe. We ordered the Bar Harbor lobster roll, Maryland crab vegetable soup & the New England clam chowder. The lobster roll was decent. I'd give it a 7/10. Comparing it to the Reston location, this one lacked flavor, even with the butter. They give you the choice between chilled or warm and we chose warm. Both soups were okay. I'd give them both a 6/10. It was more watery than I'm use to but the taste wasn't bad. I probably wouldn't order it again though. All in all, the food was okay. They're still pretty new so hopefully they'll get better in time.

Truthfully, I would say 3 1/2 stars....The service was awesome! The woman who waited on us couldn't have been nicer. She was wonderful. The restaurant still has that just opened feel. Everything is neat and clean. The restaurant is well organized and it didn't take long to get our food. The lobster meat was just okay. I ordered the lobster sandwich meal with the larger piece of the lobster meat. The portion size was great. The taste was lacking, even with melted butter on it. I also ordered the tater tots. Here is where I am a little bit picky. I like my tater tots hot and crispy. These were neither. They were warm and on the softer side. They tasted okay, but not hot and crunchy tots. So, while there was nothing wrong with our meals, if you are paying $30 for a sandwich and sides, you want it to be outstanding and memorable. My friend, Yelper, Carroll and I, both agreed that it was a meal that lacked luster and flavor. I would like to return and try the salads or soups.

10.18.24 Scratching my head trying to figure out who decided that they were famous. Lol. I ordered the Connecticut Roll combo and fellow Elite Yelper Joy B. accompanied me on this visit and got herself the Bar Harbor combo. Sadly, we weren't impressed by our rolls and have had far better. The lobster was supposed to be hot, but it wasn't. It was also bland and dry. Although it was served with butter, it likely would have tasted better served with a sauce and seasoning such as Old Bay to make it less dry and to enhance the flavor. The best part of my sammie was the roll. It was buttery and yummy. Tater tots were decent, but could have been crispier. Although the food is mediocre to me, I will give a shout out to the staff who took our order. She was friendly and helpful in explaining to us about the menu after we informed her it was our first visit. During our meal, she also asked how everything was. Lastly, we were going to throw our trash away and she said she would take care of it. Top-notch service. They have limited seating and it was a bit chilly as they kept the door opened. They put some tables outside. They offer takeout, delivery, and catering. They are located close to the movie theater across from the Courtyard Marriott.

Guess what I had for my birthday lunch? A traditional lobsta roll! I usually go for the warm Connecticut roll, but I was feeling the need for a change up. We came to Rio for the Taste of Rio event and I definitely wanted a lobster roll. However, their booth did not have electricity at the moment and long story short, we went and dined in at their storefront location. I've been to Mason's Virginia Beach location and loved my experience. I was excited to read about this location opening. It took me awhile, but I'm here! It was very good. Perfect amount of lobster meat. For $21 they are cheaper than the food truck competition that makes it way all over town. It's my birthday, so I deserve to treat myself, right?

Bar Harbor lobster roll - so meaty and delicious.

I've had lobster rolls in California, in Maine, and several places in between. These were INCREDIBLE! Some of the most meaty, tasty, delicious lobster rolls ever! Not to mention the couple that own the place were super friendly and so were their staff. We ordered the combo meal with the Connecticut Roll and a bowl of clam chowder. We decided to share, so we went for the "Bar Harbor" which has 50% more meat. We couldn't stop at one, we went for a second, this time we went for the classic with the Bar Harbor extra meat option. The lobster was fresh and piled high!! The portion sizes were super generous. I hope we have time to get back over there for lunch tomorrow before we leave.

Visited Mason's for lunch. Ordered 2 Connecticut-style lobsta rolls, a tater tots, and a clam chowda. The lobsta rolls had nice big chunks of firm lobster meat. The tater tots were a bit on the soggy side and not my vibe. The clam chowda was good with nice chunks of clams, but more onion and watered down than I cared for. The cashier was super nice and saved me $1 since I was ordering a combo but wasn't paying attention that I was. They haven't been open for long but the place was clean, the service was quick and I even heard an employee (not owner or manager) thank people for coming in. What?! Thumbs up guys

Tried Mason's in RIO for lunch today! The lobster roll, cold meat with a touch of mayo, and some clam chowder The lobster roll ($27) with extra tail meat was spectacular. Toasted and buttered bun with tons of lobster meat. The clam chowder was thick and delicious with just the right amount of clams, potato and onion in a creamy base. Must return!

This place recently opened in Rio! They have a variety of rolls including the classic roll, Connecticut lobster salad roll, lobster BLT roll, shrimp roll, and crab roll. All rolls are $21, besides the $16 shrimp roll. They also offer lobster mac & cheese ($16) and lobster grilled cheese ($17). We ordered the Connecticut roll; there was an option to upgrade to The Bar Harbor, which adds 50% more lobster and tail for $27. We weren't blown away by the Connecticut roll and thought it needed more flavor. The place was clean, the employees were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick, so we would be open to coming back in the future to try their other options.

The food was too expensive for just one piece of bread with frozen lobster ‍ and they were very pushy about their tip

He was even happy to speak in Russian to them the whole time. Their ambience and service is wonderful. Food choices are very authentic and full of flavor. Even if you've never eaten Russian/Uzbek food, I highly recommend you try it out. Their portion sizes are great as well. And they have so many choices. You can even tell that all is made fresh. We ordered plov, manti, tashkent salad, kompot, kebobs and their potato salad (i forget the name of this dish) and their bread. It was all wonderful. Definitely worth the drive.

To my luck, we had great Uzbek food less than 15 mins away! It was a while ago but we ordered the samsa, manti, kutabi, plov, and chohohbli, and I can't recall what else but we loved it! Last night my husband and I decided to dine in. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with cultural artifacts and art. This may just be a me thing but the serveware was envy worthy. It was gorgeous. I'm obsessed with beautiful dishware. There were only two people taking orders and serving food for an almost full dining room so we were understanding of a bit of a wait time. The staff were very friendly and checked in on us when they could. We ordered the khachipuri, samsa, oxtail, chohobli, steamed rice, pilmeni, and hot tea. Both the khachipuri and samsa were flaky pastries: khachapuri filled with a salty stretchy cheese with a cheese pull that tasted better than it was Instagram-able and samsa filled with a savory meat/onion mixture served with a tomato based sauce. Get one per person because you will not want to share. We ordered fried mini dumplings which are filled with meat and also served with same tomato based sauce that came with the samsa. They were delicious but afterwards I saw that you can get them steamed in a broth, I told myself I have to get that next time. The slow-cooked, tender oxtail was served over the best crispy, fat-fried potatoes I've ever had. The chohobli (chicken stew) was fall off the bone into a delicious tomato-based stew. We ordered the rice to sop up the delicious stew. The tea really helped to cut the richness of all the delicious food. I have not shut up about this place since we had this meal. I will rave about it to just about anyone that will listen in hopes that they will come with me next time so we can order more dishes to share.
