Matcha Town is a modern dessert and tea cafe in Cupertino village . It is known for its minimalist green aesthetic and long weekend lines . I like the modern vibe. The shop features a calming , green clean design. Space is small and often cramped. It sells some cute leather key ring with matcha ice cream design and some matcha powder. The speciality menu offers five distinct levels of matcha intensity , ranging from mild to bold . You can taste the samples before picking a matcha level ( usually 3 and 5 being crowds favorites ) . It also serve non matcha gelato options like hojicha , and black sesame . I like their pink guava matcha tea , matcha lattes are very flavorful and not too sweet . Love this cafe and would highly recommended it .
How can I become a citizen at Matcha Town One of the best matcha spots in the bay tbh. The taste of matcha is very strong and you can taste the quality of their matcha. The passionfruit pineapple gelato is a MUST try! The taste of passionfruit is so strong and paired so well with the jasmine matcha. Parking is annoying in this plaza and seating is super limited.
Speaking just for the gelato. Great texture, and the flavors were so good and pronounced. I especially loved the yuzu. Finally, a place where the flavors actually taste the way you'd expect them to, and it's delicious. There are only about four seats available, so it's not really a place to hang out. It definitely makes me want to come back and try their matcha lattes and other drinks.
Okay so this is good but not for me. It's more focused on the Gelato and if that's your thing then you'd love it! The drinks were alright, the Pink guava was interesting and tasted good. The guava over rides the matcha flavor. I don't know how to rate the service because you order from 1 of the 2 kiosks. There is little to no interaction with people. The line is long because there's a holdup everytime someone is at the kiosk. Its a small shop with a few seats. Looks clean. Parking is plentiful but it gets busy in this plaza. I can't say I'll be back for me. I might take someone here if they're into Gelato.
Been wanting to try this place and only had room for a single drink but would like to come back to try other items Pink guava matcha 8/10 - the sweetness level was perfect (70%) but it's more guava focused rather than matcha. The cream foam is matcha flavor which is on the bitter side but once you mix it with the pink guava tea it's delicious! Very light on the matcha surprisingly. If you are not a big fan of matcha but just want a sprinkle of it, this drink is pretty decent. They also have gelato cake which is very unique and interesting, I've never seen anything like this. Will have to come back and try it out!
Place is pretty fire. I hate the parking here, so I recommend parking on top floor of garage and doing a short walk. Trust me, it'll save you the anxiety of the parking lot. You order on a kiosk and it comes pretty quick. Looks like no option for dairy free so that's kinda lame. But it's definitely delicious. I got the guava matcha which is pretty refreshing.
Matcha Town is one of the matcha places in the Bay Area that are soo good. The weekends definitely get crowded so make sure to plan accordingly when coming here. Loved the interior design- super modern and green! The matcha itself is great- i loved how we could choose our own grade of matcha for our drink! I ordered the Jasmine (grade 3..?) matcha latte with gelato which made the drink super creamy and delectable. My friend ordered the Pink Guava matcha latte and that was also amazing.

Been to Matcha Town twice already and it's so much better than Izumi Matcha a few blocks away in Cupertino. The quality of the matcha here was fresh and I loved the fact that you can choose the strength of the matcha in your soft serve. If you want to mix things up, get the hojicha or even the sesame flavored drinks here and you'll be just as satisfied with those drinks as well. Out of all the desserts in this plaza, I'll definitely consider Matcha Town as a go to. Definite high recommendations from me for others to try!
MATCHA TOWN SUPREMACY!!! Been here a couple of times and I am in love with the Jasmine Matcha Salted Cheese series. I tend to do 50% sweetness and have done 0% before to get pure matcha flavor. Matcha Town clears Izumi or Matsu Matcha. The drink quality of Izumi does not compare to Matcha Town, and the gelato here is way better than Matsu's. As for gelato, the Jasmine Matcha and Hochija was delicious! Black sesame was yummy but I prefer the other flavors more. I haven't tried the other matcha % gelatos though. Please note that you cannot sample the gelato unless you purchase a cup ahead of time on the order kiosk (was told this by a worker). This place gets super busy and I understand the hype behind Matcha Town. Also the vibe of place?? It's giving designer Gentle Monster. Matcha Town is now my go-to place for matcha drinks!
Matcha Town...I see you!! A solid 5 ***** for me! My friend raved to me about Matcha Town and how I had to try the gelato here. She was NOT wrong... The gelato here is absolutely amazing; packed with flavor to the max, without being overly sweet. In fact, the Chocolate gelato was some of the best I had. Parking in the plaza can be arduous, the plaza gets packed. Be prepared to wait in line. The venue is not the biggest, there is a bit of room to stand around inside along with two benches, that's about it. I suppose they don't want you to hang out inside. Place your order at the kiosk. The staff is fast and efficient. When it comes to gelato, place your order and wait in line. They let you sample flavors when its your turn. I think I tried all the gelato flavors on offer, the handful of times I been here. lol GELATO FLAVORS: ~ White Champaca - 5/5 This was my first introduction to White Champaca. I had to look up what it is. Very unique flavor. Do try it out... ~ Jasmine Matcha - 5/5 You can actually taste the Jasmine, it's not just hints of Jasmine , perfectly balanced with the Matcha. ~ Chocolate - 5/5 Dark Chocolate gelato. Some of the best I had. ~ Black Sesame - 4/5 While it's very good, I had better elsewhere. Not as bold as I hoped. ~ Hojicha - 4/5 Sold Hojicha flavor. I had better before. ~ Pistachio - 5/5 Excellent Pistachio gelato, bold Pistachio flavor. ~ NO.2 MATCHA - 5/5 Brilliant Matcha gelato, without being overly bitter or sweet. ~ Yuzu - 3.5/5 Not for me, but will absolutely recommend to Citrus lovers. ~ Pineapple & Passion fruit - 3.5/5 Also not for me, on the tangier side and not enough Pineapple. ~ Blood Orange & Bergamont - 3.5/5 Again not for me, on the tangier side, but the Blood Orange comes through. I feel like I found a hidden gem when I first stumbled upon this because it was before they even announced being open and there wasn't a single reel or tiktok about them & it wasn't even on apple maps yet. I tried their gelato and the hojicha and no. 5 matcha were my favs! The tea taste for both was really strong, and the sweetness was perfect! The yuzu shiso was also surprisingly yummy. I came back to try the drinks and both the guava matcha and jasmine matcha were delicious. I think I liked the guava matcha a bit more but both were amazing. The matcha cream top was very strong in matcha flavor :) There are a couple tables inside, but with the amount of people going, it's going to be hard to snatch a table :/
I had been seeing Matcha Town all over online, so I knew I had to stop by and try it. I wanted to try one of their gelato cakes too, but unfortunately I didn't get the chance this time. I'll definitely be coming back for it though. I ended up trying the Salted Cheese White Champaca Matcha, Pink Guava Matcha, and the King Coconut Water Float, and they were all really good. The Salted Cheese White Champaca Matcha had a nice floral note that paired well with the matcha, while the salted cheese foam added a creamy, savory touch without overpowering it. The Pink Guava Matcha surprised me because the guava was light and refreshing, making it a great balance with the matcha. The King Coconut Water Float was also really refreshing, especially on a warm day, with the coconut water keeping it light while the ice cream made it extra creamy. Speaking of the ice cream, I got to sample a few of the gelato flavors, and I was honestly surprised by how unique they were. I thought the rice gelato sounded like such an odd flavor at first, but it ended up being one of my favorites. It had a subtle toasted rice flavor that was creamy, comforting, and unlike anything I've had before. I didn't end up getting a scoop this visit, but next time I'm in the area, it's definitely at the top of my list. The workers were incredibly sweet and helpful. My sister accidentally ordered a drink that came with milk and later realized she forgot to ask for a dairy-free option since she's allergic to dairy. Unfortunately, that particular drink couldn't be made with a different milk, so they helped her choose another drink instead. Since the replacement drink didn't come with matcha like she originally wanted, the worker kindly gave her a side of matcha cream to help accommodate her. She ended up loving it, and I really appreciated how thoughtful and accommodating they were. The place itself is clean, well kept, and beautifully decorated, making it a really nice place to sit and enjoy your drinks. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back the next time I'm in the area, especially to finally try one of their gelato cakes.
They have white champaca, which is a white floral tea, that was really delicious and I've never had anything like it anywhere else. Loved their green tea #5, pistachio and black sesame as well. So good! Went back a second time to get the white champaca, pistachio and the new blood orange & bergamot. The blood orange & bergamot had bits of dark chocolate and was refreshing, perfect for a warm day. The pistachio blew me away. One of the best pistachios I've had. Really loved the chocolate as well. The creamy rice had little bits of rice in it. I didn't care for this one as much. The chocolate is really amazing too. Gahhh!! So many flavors excel and I can't tell you which one is my favorite but here's my attempt at ranking the flavors I've had so far: 1. Not as busy anymore but still one of my favorite dessert places in the area. Love the yuzu shio sherbet. Get their cakes!! So far I've only tried the berry champaca but it's so good. The champaca tea taste + tart berry + chocolate crunch bottom; 10/10. read more
I'm not a big matcha fan, but this place has some high quality drinks! I personally loved the matcha jasmine but my friends like their other matcha drinks too. The interior of this place is very cute, but small. You order through a kiosk though so it's a very quick process. The parking was easy plaza parking! read more
Fast and efficient service. You order from the kiosk. You can also taste as many flavors as you want Didn't get the ice cream but I got a matcha latte. Tasting the matcha separately before mixing, it is definitely good quality ceremonial grade matcha. Not grainy, not too sweet (I got 70% sweet), and the matcha flavor is present without being extremely earthy I'd rate this place an 8/10. Great matcha for a fair market price (around $8 after tax). Came here after dinner on the weekend and it was crowded inside but we were able to order and get our drinks in less than 10 minutes. I got the pink guava matcha drink 50% sweet and thought it was a perfect level of sweetness, might try the lowest sweetness level next time. It's a nice store and I highly recommend if you are in the area. Parking can be a little hectic though. read more
Yummy matcha gelato Stopped by here for some dessert after din. They have an assortment of drinks and gelato. I am more used to matcha ice cream, but I do also like gelato. They let you try as many flavors as you want before ordering. We tried several of the matcha flavors and they did have an intense flavor, even at level 1 and 2 (which is not necessarily a bad thing). We also tried their new rice milk flavor, which is basically rice pudding in gelato form. Our fav was probs the Hojicha which is what we ended up getting. It is very creamy. Order at the kiosk, but choose your flavors in person after paying. You can try as many flavors as you want, and the worker even let me re-try flavors when I was debating between two. Every single flavor of gelato that I tried was so rich, decadent, and packed with flavor. So hard to choose just one or two flavors! Their chocolate stood out so much; it's like a rich, dark chocolate with an even flavor throughout. It's not powdery or dull. I came for matcha, left with chocolate and it hit the spot!! Got lucky and came on a saturday morning and the line was short. Ordered the king coconut water float with no. 5 matcha and pink guava matcha. I'm not a super huge fan of coconut water but the coconut water float was light and refreshing! I also love a strong matcha flavor so no.5 matcha gelato was delicious!! Tried the coconut series with pistachio and it was so good--especially with the taro balls. The texture and flavor combo was really unique and refreshing. The matcha latte was also really good--smooth and not overly sweet. Service was friendly and quick, which made the experience even better. I'd definitely come back and would love to try the gelato next time! read more

The ice cream was the standout for me over the guava matcha. The guava matcha was good as well but I felt like the guava was stronger than the matcha flavor. The ice cream was such a pleasant surprise though--very thick and creamy. The hojicha and rice flavors were both very good but I especially liked the texture of the rice! New matcha spot in the south bay. I came by a month after opening and line was still pretty long at closing. Waited about 20 minutes but good thing I was able to make the cut and grab some gelato to try. They let you sample so you can taste the difference between No 1 to No 5 matcha. Gelato had smooth texture and flavors were quite strong. I got the hojicha (earthy sweet) and No. 4 Matcha. I have to come back and try the matcha drink next time! Maybe will wait another month or two for the hype to die down because the line can get quite long. read more
Attempted to visit Matcha Town twice in the recent months since they opened but each time their lines were way too long. Finally went back on an early Friday afternoon and didn't see a line, so it was my chance to get my after lunch pick me up. The shop is nice and bright, felt clean and orderly. There isn't much seating, only behind the pick up line and it looked a bit crowded. I ordered on the kiosks by the door and decided to go with gelato instead of drinks. Once you pay, you move down the line and someone will help you with your order. I sampled the matcha #4 and hojicha flavors and was impressed with both. Usually I find hojicha is either too sweet or not strong enough, but theirs was pretty authentic. I did end up going with the matcha option with a fresh waffle cone and enjoyed every last bite. Will definitely be back again in the future for more! read more

This Matcha Town location was clean and felt much cooler and more comfortable than the Oakland Road location. However, the drinks tasted more diluted and weren't as flavorful as the ones from Oakland Road. I also tried the gelato cake for the first time. It was pretty good and a nice experience to try once, but I probably wouldn't purchase it again. Overall, the location was pleasant, but I prefer the drinks at the Oakland Road location. read more

Tried the Salted Cheese Matcha Float this morning and I'm honestly a fan. The matcha itself is smooth and not too bitter, but what really makes it stand out is the ice cream on top--it adds this rich creaminess that blends perfectly with the slightly salty cheese foam. The combo hits that sweet-salty balance really well. I got there around 10:50 AM and there was already a line forming, but it moved pretty quickly so it wasn't a hassle. I also tried the jasmine matcha--lightly floral, but it didn't feel as refreshing or "cool" as I expected compared to the float. Still decent, just not my favorite. Overall, I'd definitely get the salted cheese matcha float again! read more

Matcha Town is definitely a new favorite for tea flavored gelato! The hype is still around so anticipate a 30-45 min wait. You pay before sampling the gelato. Vibes are similar to Molly Tea though I'd rather go there for milk tea specifically. I would give their matcha drinks another try! RECS: + Hojicha gelato was absolutely AMAZING! The flavor is spot on and has the perfect roast + Salted white champaca matcha ($7.95) had a good champaca tea base but this also overpowers the matcha, so it's hard to tell if the matcha is good as well. 100% was quite sweet so I'd lower to 50% PASS: + Matcha #3 gelato is too bitter for my personal preference but it is their most popular one! read more

My sister recommended me to try this place so here I am. Came here to try their ice cream. Love the variety flavors. I got white champaca, Matcha (forgot which number but definitely the strongest one that they have at the moment) and blood orange (seasonal). I actually like the blood orange. It goes well with champaca. I went to the different level of matcha store in Japan a while back and would say Matcha Town is actually reminded me of the store in Japan. Will be back to try other flavors. read more
I went to Matcha Town on recommendation of my matcha loving friend who lives in the peninsula. There was a line out the door when we arrived, but it moved relatively fast. We probably stood in line for under 20 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. The ice cream/gelato was creamy and rich. The chocolate was a bit too sweet for my liking, but the matcha no. 2 was yummy. You can sample the gelato, too, so that is lovely. I didn't really like the floral flavors available, and there were a lot of them, so keep that in mind if you consider visiting this location. One of the unique aspects of this location is that you can try ice cream and gelato with different levels of matcha in them, so they had Matcha no. 2-5. My friend said no. 5 is too bitter. If you enjoy matcha and ice cream, it's probably worth a visit. I probably wouldn't come again, but ice cream and matcha aren't my favorite combinations. read more

Honestly my expectations weren't super high given the high number of matcha places opening up in the recent years, but I was quite impressed by Matcha Town! Pretty busy on a Friday evening. Two kiosks available for ordering. After ordering, your order number will appear on the TV under "preparing" and then moved under "ready" once it's done. If you order gelato on the kiosk, you join the gelato pick-up line immediately after ordering. I got the salted cheese white champaca matcha drink with regular sweetness. The salted cheese is a thick creamy layer on top. After mixing the drink, it was such a delicious combination of flavors - salty and creamy from the salted cheese, and fragrant, floral, and milky from the matcha. I'm a huge fan of sweet and creamy drinks so this was right up my alley. I like my drinks on the sweeter end so 100% sweetness was perfectly fine for me, but definitely go lower on the sweetness level if sweet drinks aren't your thing. I'd say their 100% sweetness was quite sweet, sweeter than other matcha places where I've gotten 100% at. For the regular gelato size, it comes with 2 flavors. Samples are available. I went with the no. 4 matcha and white champaca. I loved the crunchy bits in the white champaca! Great strong fragrant tea flavor for both. Sampled the black sesame gelato too - it was delicious and I almost went with this flavor. It had a deep roasted authentic flavor. Store is clean and aesthetic. Minimal shared bench seating inside. Their cakes were presented beautifully as well. I'd definitely come back! read more
TLDR: Corny name, but great matcha drinks and gelato of many kinds! Big line for gelato.. You must order gelato in person. Want drinks? Best to order that online, and look for your number to come up on the board. Everything we tried was great.. from the silky smooth Jasmine Milk Tea (5/5) to the Pink Guava Matcha which was equally Matcha and Guava in flavor without one overpowering the other. The Matcha Gelato was really good too..For that, we chose the medium strength #3 Matcha Gelato. Very smooth, strong matcha note and again, perfect strength matcha for my palate - not bitter in the least and sweet enough. Robust! The Pistachio gelato was good, not artificial, perfect stringy gelato texture like a cheese pull, only better! Patient courteous service, even when we tried to choose among the many flavors of gelato! Simple modern take out vibe inside, with a long comfy couch on the opposite wall to sit and enjoy your treats.. Very lively! I'd come back here anytime! read more
Good place for gelato but lacking the matcha flavor in their drinks. I prefer a strong matcha flavor but their drinks barely had any matcha. Gelato flavors I tried: - Matcha 1: jasmine flavored. Pretty good if you like more floral notes. I mostly tasted the jasmine and not matcha from this. - Matcha 4: stronger matcha flavor with a hint of bitterness. Good option for those that like the taste of matcha. - Pistachio: good if you like pistachio gelato to be not too sweet. - White Champaca: okay, not much taste to this flavor imo. I like stronger flavored gelatos. The drink I ordered was the Salted Cheese White Champaca Matcha. The salted cheese and Champaca overpowered the matcha, so I don't recommend this drink if you like more matcha-forward drinks. Overall, a good place to visit for gelatos. Their line moved pretty fast even though there was a long line on the weekend. Waited about 15 mins. read more
For $8+, the regular matcha latte is not worth it. The cup is smaller than any of their other drinks and even when ordered with less ice, you're only getting maybeeeee 7-8oz of drink. They also do not do any milk substitutes, only whole milk. The quality of the drink though was not bad so I can't argue with that. I just can't justify buying it again though. Do NOT try the gelato if you have a nut allergy. When we wanted to double check about nuts being in the black sesame gelato, they said yes and that all of the bins have traces of nuts because they cross contaminate. Overall, is not worth the line and hassle. Unfortunately there are other matcha spots now with better service and just as good, if not better. read more

It was a warm Saturday in Cupertino! Since I am a fan of matcha, stepping into Matcha Town felt like I was in heaven! I love the store decor as it was simple yet elegant looking especially the gigantic picture against the back wall, simply just green and black. They have 2 kiosk for ordering so it frees up the workers! Our drinks came out fast. I had the pink guava matcha and it was yummy and refreshing even though I had the lowest sugar level. I would def come back to try their other drinks and the various levels of matcha gelato. read more
Super cute and modern space. Easy kiosk ordering at the front. Streamlined pick up process! Tried both the black sesame and Hojicha gelato samples at the front before entering--both were really nice and had prominent flavors, but I esp loved the black sesame. We got the Jasmine Matcha and the King Coconut Water Float w/ Pistachio Gelato. Both drinks were lovely. The coconut water is REALLY refreshing and pairs really well with the gelato. The pistachio gelato is amazing--sooo nutty and creamy. Strong matcha flavor in the matcha cream, but significantly lessened when mixed into the milk tea. Could use a more jasmine in the milk tea? I got 50% sweetness and it was quite unsweet--will prolly get 75% or 100% next time. Threw the rest of my gelato in there for extra kick. Had to get an extra gelato after getting our drinks. Got to try a bunch of flavors, all of which were super flavorful and nice, but went with No. 3 matcha + white champaca. Soooo creamy and delish!! Highly recommend both gelato flavors. I recently visited Matcha Town in Cupertino and had a really great experience. If you like matcha, this place is definitely worth trying. The matcha flavor in the drinks tastes very authentic and high quality -- not overly sweet and with that rich, earthy flavor that good matcha should have. I ordered the Coco Matcha and one of the drinks from their Cream Cheese series, and both were amazing. The Coco Matcha was refreshing with a nice balance of coconut and matcha, while the cream cheese foam added a smooth, slightly salty layer that paired perfectly with the drink. You can tell they use good ingredients because the flavors come through clearly. The shop itself is cute and the service was quick. The only downside is the parking lot, which can get pretty crazy and hard to find a spot, especially during busy hours. But honestly, the drinks are good enough that I'd still come back again. read more
Personally, I wouldn't wait more than 15 minutes for it... but it was undeniably delicious! I loved the Yuzu Shiso SOOOO MUCH. Underrated sorbet option compared to the other creamy gelatos. Super refreshing!! Of the matcha options, I liked the No.2 Matcha option. Very sweet and custard-like. The matcha earthiness still comes through. New matcha spot I've been recommended to try and now I can recommend it to others. It's in a busy plaza and I had trouble finding parking but it was worth it. They have gelato and drinks. They have a decent selection of drinks. I got the pink guava matcha and it was so good! I like it better than the one at Dr ink. The location itself is kind of small but has a small sitting area. Matcha Town definitely lived up to the hype! We all ordered the Salted Cheese Oolong Matcha, and it was seriously so good. The matcha was rich and creamy, and the salted cheese foam paired perfectly with it. I ordered mine at 70% sweetness, which was the perfect balance for my taste, while some of my family preferred 50%, so there's definitely room to customize depending on how sweet you like your drinks. Ordering was quick and easy, and our drinks came out surprisingly fast even though the shop was pretty busy when we visited. The interior was also clean and well maintained, making it a nice place to stop by. After trying their drinks, I'm already looking forward to coming back to try their matcha ice cream and some of their other menu items. Heard a lot about Matcha Town from friends, came to try it on a Monday night around 7pm. It wasn't crowded, and you order at one of 2 kiosks. They have a variety of matcha ice cream flavors and others, drinks, and gelato cakes. I got the White Champaca single scoop waffle cone, and it was very good! Had a floral, light tea flavor with a smooth sweetness and chunks of pistachio in it, which added good texture. They also have matcha flavors from No1-No5, lightest to strongest. Their interior reminds me of Molly Tea, has a modern and upscale vibe, and had other merch for sale. I would come back to try some of their matcha drinks, they did have some unique flavors. Not worth the hype imo. I saw a lot of mixed reviews and was hesitant to try, but we attended during the bogo deal anyway. The line was long but it took roughly only 40 min to get through. They also provided samples during, which was a great add. The drinks themselves are not sweet at all. If you love getting 25% sweet level or 0% sweet, this place is great for you. Otherwise, at regular sugar and ice, it was not my cup of tea nor worth the price. At first sip of my white champaca matcha with cheese, it tasted like only milk. I asked to add matcha, which they graciously did, but it didn't taste any greater. The guava matcha was also just OK - I only tasted the guava, and I don't think it was anything extraordinary. The lids are also incredibly finicky - two of our drinks were leaking through our bags, we found out on two different occasions as we were leaving the shop. However, the highlight of our experience was Chris! Chris, one of the workers, was incredibly welcoming and provided us with best of the best service, during the line and after (when we had the leaking mishaps). If we could give Chris 6 out of 5 stars alone, we would. Overall, we were extremely disappointed in the quality of the matcha drinks. Unsure if we will return. Matcha gelato was very good though, it is the only highlight of the products. read more

I LOVEEE MATCHATOWN! This place can get pretty busy at peak hours, and on weekends, but I typically come on the weekdays so it's pretty slow when I go. Because of this, drinks usually come out super fast. You order from a kiosk for your drink. I LOVEE their champaca matcha or their jasmine. These are my usual go tos in the area. I personally prefer it over Molly tea's. The building itself is a little small, so there are minimal seats, but otherwise I love this place. read more
Yummy matcha spot! I like their gelato slightly more than their drinks. There is very limited seating inside and it can get quite crowded. I highly recommend downloading their matcha town app and ordering online to avoid the wait. Coconut matcha: refreshing drink, but the gelato gets icy as it gets mixed into the drink. I got the pink guava matcha and it was pretty good but when mixed, you couldn't taste the matcha too much but was smooth and I enjoyed it. Guava flavor tasted fresh and fruity with light floral notes. Really nice modern interior. Their gelatos seem to be the most popular thing here but I'm not sure I'm enough of a matcha aficionado to get it but curious about their cream cheese drink. When I went there was little to no wait. Parking can be a little hard sometimes in this plaza heads up. read more
We came yesterday not knowing it was grand opening weekend so the line went all the way down to b.b.q. chicken... We were already there and I was craving gelato so we just waited, probably took us around 40 mins in line. Since it was grand opening weekend there were prizes if you took their matcha personality quiz. While in line, they were giving samples of the no.3 matcha gelato so people can see their preference. No.3 was really good but I wanted something stronger so I went with the no.5. honestly wasn't that bitter. The promo was bogo on drinks and 12% off gelato. I also got their hojicha latte 50% sweet. Hojicha was good and my cousin liked his guava matcha. All the gelato was so delicious. I would definitely get hojicha and pistachio when I come back next time. read more

I came with 2 other friends for the grand opening Saturday around 5pm for the bogo. It was surprisingly a 40 minute wait. Luckily, they were passing out samples of the champaca tea (which was yummy) to try in line. The line went by quickly. My friend and I ordered the guava matcha and the salted oolong tea matcha. Both were disappointing. The guava matcha was too much guava, hardly any matcha. It didn't mix well and it was hard to sip up with the straw. The salted oolong was too milky. They do have a sign saying they can remake your drink if you don't like it so my friend asked for matcha but it turned out worse. The matcha was too strong and there was 0 sweetness or flavor. It seems like their drinks are finicky because my other friend ordered 6 drinks to go and some of their lids came off and spilled in the bag. The true star of the show was one worker, Chris. He was AMAZING. He was super kind and helped us out so much. I would honestly come back for him. The only other perk was their matcha gelato - that was actually pretty good and strong. Overall, I don't think the wait is worth the drink quality but I would come back to try more of their gelato and for Chris. read more

Apparently I've been living under a rock recently and a friend had to tell me Matcha Town's having their soft opening! We went two days in a row around NYE. Line both days wasn't that bad. Drinks were prepped faster the first night, took a bit longer daytime of NYE. The place is much brighter during the day time. Clean, chic aesthetics. There's some seating along the right wall with little tables. Order & pay before waiting for your drink order number to show up as ready on the monitor. Ordered gelato? Get into the next roped off line and sample to your heart's content. Offerings: *Drinks: Matcha Hojicha Oolong King Coconut Water + Gelato *Gelato: Matcha NO.1-5 Hojicha Black Sesame Yuzu & Shiso Chocolate White Champaca Pistachio Pineapple & Passionfruit *Gelato Cakes: Matcha Pistachio Matcha Black Sesame Yuzu Cheese Sea Salt Tropical Trio Berry White Champaca Yuzu Noir Gelato cakes look so pretty but they're costly. Small 4 inch starts at $26.95 and large 6 inch at $54.95, $59.95 for matcha pistachio. I was able to sample matcha no.3 right in the middle, white Champaca (real tea nibs and a smooth creamy tea flavor), plus my favorite hojicha which I got a huge scoop of in a crisp waffle cone. Tried my friend's matcha no.5 and it's much too strong for me. Black sesame is bold and deliciously nutty. Guava Matcha! I thought the cashier said I couldn't adjust the sugar level when I wanted none added, but she marked down 70% sweet. I'll ask again next time. This was so good! Guava infused milk topped with whipped ceremonial matcha cream was sweet with tropical twist. I'll get it again next time. Second visit, I ordered a steep priced Salted Cheese Hojicha Float. Another friend ordered the Salted Cheese Matcha Float with matcha no.1 gelato (matcha jasmine for the lightest flavor). We wondered why our orders took much longer than others. We went to the pick up area and saw the drinks had been sitting far too long because the gelato was already melting! Please work on this. It's possible one employee hand whisked the tea/prepped and then handed it over to a coworker to scoop gelato on it. So who's responsible for entering the order number as ready on screen? Or are we supposed to get into the gelato line for this type of order. At $9.50 a cup, I expected a non-melted scoop on the drink. Hojicha flavors are amazing, from the gelato to the actual drink. So no complaints about quality. Workers are very nice as well and patient. Thank you to Van and her manager at the front for honoring the $2 app sign up coupon. Grand opening is weekend of Jan 16-18! They also have merch for sale. I got a leather matcha cone keychain that I'm debating about gifting or keeping for myself. read more
