Matcha Town is a modern dessert and tea cafe in Cupertino village . It is known for its minimalist green aesthetic and long weekend lines . I like the modern vibe. The shop features a calming , green clean design. Space is small and often cramped. It sells some cute leather key ring with matcha ice cream design and some matcha powder. The speciality menu offers five distinct levels of matcha intensity , ranging from mild to bold . You can taste the samples before picking a matcha level ( usually 3 and 5 being crowds favorites ) . It also serve non matcha gelato options like hojicha , and black sesame . I like their pink guava matcha tea , matcha lattes are very flavorful and not too sweet . Love this cafe and would highly recommended it .
How can I become a citizen at Matcha Town One of the best matcha spots in the bay tbh. The taste of matcha is very strong and you can taste the quality of their matcha. The passionfruit pineapple gelato is a MUST try! The taste of passionfruit is so strong and paired so well with the jasmine matcha. Parking is annoying in this plaza and seating is super limited.
Speaking just for the gelato. Great texture, and the flavors were so good and pronounced. I especially loved the yuzu. Finally, a place where the flavors actually taste the way you'd expect them to, and it's delicious. There are only about four seats available, so it's not really a place to hang out. It definitely makes me want to come back and try their matcha lattes and other drinks.
Okay so this is good but not for me. It's more focused on the Gelato and if that's your thing then you'd love it! The drinks were alright, the Pink guava was interesting and tasted good. The guava over rides the matcha flavor. I don't know how to rate the service because you order from 1 of the 2 kiosks. There is little to no interaction with people. The line is long because there's a holdup everytime someone is at the kiosk. Its a small shop with a few seats. Looks clean. Parking is plentiful but it gets busy in this plaza. I can't say I'll be back for me. I might take someone here if they're into Gelato.
Been wanting to try this place and only had room for a single drink but would like to come back to try other items Pink guava matcha 8/10 - the sweetness level was perfect (70%) but it's more guava focused rather than matcha. The cream foam is matcha flavor which is on the bitter side but once you mix it with the pink guava tea it's delicious! Very light on the matcha surprisingly. If you are not a big fan of matcha but just want a sprinkle of it, this drink is pretty decent. They also have gelato cake which is very unique and interesting, I've never seen anything like this. Will have to come back and try it out!
Place is pretty fire. I hate the parking here, so I recommend parking on top floor of garage and doing a short walk. Trust me, it'll save you the anxiety of the parking lot. You order on a kiosk and it comes pretty quick. Looks like no option for dairy free so that's kinda lame. But it's definitely delicious. I got the guava matcha which is pretty refreshing.
Matcha Town is one of the matcha places in the Bay Area that are soo good. The weekends definitely get crowded so make sure to plan accordingly when coming here. Loved the interior design- super modern and green! The matcha itself is great- i loved how we could choose our own grade of matcha for our drink! I ordered the Jasmine (grade 3..?) matcha latte with gelato which made the drink super creamy and delectable. My friend ordered the Pink Guava matcha latte and that was also amazing.

Been to Matcha Town twice already and it's so much better than Izumi Matcha a few blocks away in Cupertino. The quality of the matcha here was fresh and I loved the fact that you can choose the strength of the matcha in your soft serve. If you want to mix things up, get the hojicha or even the sesame flavored drinks here and you'll be just as satisfied with those drinks as well. Out of all the desserts in this plaza, I'll definitely consider Matcha Town as a go to. Definite high recommendations from me for others to try!
MATCHA TOWN SUPREMACY!!! Been here a couple of times and I am in love with the Jasmine Matcha Salted Cheese series. I tend to do 50% sweetness and have done 0% before to get pure matcha flavor. Matcha Town clears Izumi or Matsu Matcha. The drink quality of Izumi does not compare to Matcha Town, and the gelato here is way better than Matsu's. As for gelato, the Jasmine Matcha and Hochija was delicious! Black sesame was yummy but I prefer the other flavors more. I haven't tried the other matcha % gelatos though. Please note that you cannot sample the gelato unless you purchase a cup ahead of time on the order kiosk (was told this by a worker). This place gets super busy and I understand the hype behind Matcha Town. Also the vibe of place?? It's giving designer Gentle Monster. Matcha Town is now my go-to place for matcha drinks!
Matcha Town...I see you!! A solid 5 ***** for me! My friend raved to me about Matcha Town and how I had to try the gelato here. She was NOT wrong... The gelato here is absolutely amazing; packed with flavor to the max, without being overly sweet. In fact, the Chocolate gelato was some of the best I had. Parking in the plaza can be arduous, the plaza gets packed. Be prepared to wait in line. The venue is not the biggest, there is a bit of room to stand around inside along with two benches, that's about it. I suppose they don't want you to hang out inside. Place your order at the kiosk. The staff is fast and efficient. When it comes to gelato, place your order and wait in line. They let you sample flavors when its your turn. I think I tried all the gelato flavors on offer, the handful of times I been here. lol GELATO FLAVORS: ~ White Champaca - 5/5 This was my first introduction to White Champaca. I had to look up what it is. Very unique flavor. Do try it out... ~ Jasmine Matcha - 5/5 You can actually taste the Jasmine, it's not just hints of Jasmine , perfectly balanced with the Matcha. ~ Chocolate - 5/5 Dark Chocolate gelato. Some of the best I had. ~ Black Sesame - 4/5 While it's very good, I had better elsewhere. Not as bold as I hoped. ~ Hojicha - 4/5 Sold Hojicha flavor. I had better before. ~ Pistachio - 5/5 Excellent Pistachio gelato, bold Pistachio flavor. ~ NO.2 MATCHA - 5/5 Brilliant Matcha gelato, without being overly bitter or sweet. ~ Yuzu - 3.5/5 Not for me, but will absolutely recommend to Citrus lovers. ~ Pineapple & Passion fruit - 3.5/5 Also not for me, on the tangier side and not enough Pineapple. ~ Blood Orange & Bergamont - 3.5/5 Again not for me, on the tangier side, but the Blood Orange comes through. Yeah... I foresee myself as a regular at Matcha Town.
I feel like I found a hidden gem when I first stumbled upon this because it was before they even announced being open and there wasn't a single reel or tiktok about them & it wasn't even on apple maps yet. I tried their gelato and the hojicha and no. 5 matcha were my favs! The tea taste for both was really strong, and the sweetness was perfect! The yuzu shiso was also surprisingly yummy. I came back to try the drinks and both the guava matcha and jasmine matcha were delicious. I think I liked the guava matcha a bit more but both were amazing. The matcha cream top was very strong in matcha flavor :) There are a couple tables inside, but with the amount of people going, it's going to be hard to snatch a table :/
I had been seeing Matcha Town all over online, so I knew I had to stop by and try it. I wanted to try one of their gelato cakes too, but unfortunately I didn't get the chance this time. I'll definitely be coming back for it though. I ended up trying the Salted Cheese White Champaca Matcha, Pink Guava Matcha, and the King Coconut Water Float, and they were all really good. The Salted Cheese White Champaca Matcha had a nice floral note that paired well with the matcha, while the salted cheese foam added a creamy, savory touch without overpowering it. The Pink Guava Matcha surprised me because the guava was light and refreshing, making it a great balance with the matcha. The King Coconut Water Float was also really refreshing, especially on a warm day, with the coconut water keeping it light while the ice cream made it extra creamy. Speaking of the ice cream, I got to sample a few of the gelato flavors, and I was honestly surprised by how unique they were. I thought the rice gelato sounded like such an odd flavor at first, but it ended up being one of my favorites. It had a subtle toasted rice flavor that was creamy, comforting, and unlike anything I've had before. I didn't end up getting a scoop this visit, but next time I'm in the area, it's definitely at the top of my list. The workers were incredibly sweet and helpful. My sister accidentally ordered a drink that came with milk and later realized she forgot to ask for a dairy-free option since she's allergic to dairy. Unfortunately, that particular drink couldn't be made with a different milk, so they helped her choose another drink instead. Since the replacement drink didn't come with matcha like she originally wanted, the worker kindly gave her a side of matcha cream to help accommodate her. She ended up loving it, and I really appreciated how thoughtful and accommodating they were. The place itself is clean, well kept, and beautifully decorated, making it a really nice place to sit and enjoy your drinks. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back the next time I'm in the area, especially to finally try one of their gelato cakes.
They have white champaca, which is a white floral tea, that was really delicious and I've never had anything like it anywhere else. Loved their green tea #5, pistachio and black sesame as well. So good! Went back a second time to get the white champaca, pistachio and the new blood orange & bergamot. The blood orange & bergamot had bits of dark chocolate and was refreshing, perfect for a warm day. The pistachio blew me away. One of the best pistachios I've had. Really loved the chocolate as well. The creamy rice had little bits of rice in it. I didn't care for this one as much. The chocolate is really amazing too. Gahhh!! So many flavors excel and I can't tell you which one is my favorite but here's my attempt at ranking the flavors I've had so far: 1. Chocolate, pistachio, green tea #5, jasmine green tea, white champaca, black sesame (in no particular order) 2. Blood orange & bergamot 3. Yuzu & Shiso 4. Creamy rice
I've had their matcha latte and their gelato. Definitely had better matcha latte. In fact, theirs tastes more milky. The gelato tho is delicious. I got the jasmine and pistachio and it was such a great combo. Super crowded inside tho... you order at a kiosk and then go down a line to get gelato. You get to try the flavors before you pick which was nice! read more

4.5 STARS Sorry, matcha latte lovers... IF you get the basic matcha latte here, you'll probably be disappointed esp when comparing to other matcha focused shops in the South Bay like Izumi, Maruwu Seicha, Ceré, etc. (IMO, the best matcha latte in the bay is at Komeya No Bento in Marina/Cow Hollow). Hand-whisked to order, Matcha Town's Matcha Latte ($7.50) is smooth to the last sip but very mild in flavor. And, there's no option to add an extra shot (I asked). So why 4.5 stars rounded up? Their bomb housemade gelatos and amazing customer service! Great quality gelato, thicccc, nicely dense and smooth with no air pockets. I sampled four flavors and my favs were the No. 5 Matcha (boldest/strongest) and White Champaca (creamy, pleasantly floral with kiss of fruity flavor). For my personal tastes, I prefer the gelatos here over Matsu Matcha in Santa Clara. For the Salted Cheese Matcha Float ($9.50), I choose the No. 5 Matcha gelato which created a perfectly balanced matcha latte with the salted cheese foam enhancing the natural umami and sweetness. Customer service was awesome! Hope and Sarah were friendly, gracious, and knowledgeable; explaining the various gelatos and gelato cakes to me. Def stick with the gelatos at Matcha Town! I got their coconut series drink with matcha ice cream on top. It was really good!!! It was fun to drink coconut water from straw and also eat ice cream at the same time. I got no 3 matcha ice cream, and the matcha was sooo good :) We did not end up waiting too long because we went sunday night and it was pretty free. Parking is hard to find in this plaza so you might have to curcle around. I would give this drink 10/10! read more
My friends and I went for the soft opening and traffic was really picking up here. Although there was a crowd, the wait was bearable! There's a good amount of options for drinks on the menu, including add-ons, gelato flavors, and gelato cakes. I gave the King Coconut Matcha float a shot, and it was everything I expected it to be - literally perfect. They let you sample the gelato flavors, which I decided on the Matcha #3 which was the right balance of matcha umami flavor and creaminess. Real sweet earthy taste. Now the star of the show, is the Matcha Pistachio Gelato cake. Granted, the prices are not everyday indulgence friendly. The small alone was $30 for 4 in. But wow did the flavor combination and crispy crust put me under a spell! And I'm not being dramatic. The interior is very nice, a really nice vibe. It's just limited in space. I'm definitely coming back once I hit the lottery and buy the large Gelato cake. read more
I've been to this spot a handful of times, and it's pretty solid! Granted, I enjoy the gelato much more than the drinks, and I'm not even really a gelato/ice cream person. However, this spot changes that for me. The service is cool, you have one cashier taking your order once you get in. The line to order can be very long because of the matcha hype, but the cashiers I've had are pretty decent and efficient. They keep the line moving. The ambiance inside is cool, and reminiscent of Molly Tea's aesthetic. Now onto the review of the items I have tried: Pink Guava Matcha - 7/10 - It's not too bad, not my favorite matcha drink, but it's a cool combo. I ordered it once, then never again. I do recommend everyone trying it at least once though. Regular Gelato Cup w/ Matcha No. 2 Base + White Champaca Top - 9/10 - Veryyyyyyy yummy. I love the matcha flavor that comes through and how it's not too sweet. The perfect base. I also think the White Champaca is the perfect top, with the creamy tea flavor and crunchy nutty bits that are mixed into the gelato. The flavors mix very well together. Definitely recommend you try this spot at least once! read more

I heard Matcha Town was brought to us by the same people who brought us Molly Tea. I'm not sure if it's true, but the flavors offered, branding, merchandise, and ordering system at Matcha Town all reminded me of Molly Tea, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. Matcha Town just opened recently and my sister told me it was good, so I wanted to try. I was especially intrigued by the flavors they offered for their gelato/sorbets. They also sell drinks and cakes. On our first visit, I really wanted to try their gelato and sorbet. You can get the gelato in a cup or a house-made waffle cone. I sampled a few flavors, all of which I found really tasty, before settling on the yuzu shiso and white champaca. Matcha Town offers 5 different levels of matcha intensity and my husband got the matcha no. 3 flavor for his gelato. The yuzu shiso was refreshingly tangy and I enjoyed the herbal notes from the shiso. White champaca was delicately floral and tasted like elevated milk ice cream. Matcha no. 3 was a lovely creamy texture with the amount of matcha flavor I like. The texture of both the gelato and sorbet were amazing and I enjoyed all the flavors we got. My only gripe with the gelato was that they scooped the flavors unevenly in the cup. The first flavor cuts filled in the cup while the second one gets a smaller scoop on top. The line was long on a Sunday afternoon and we waited about half an hour to order, but I thought the staff got us in and out relatively quickly given they had just opened a few days before. You can also order on their app (iOS only) or Chowbus online, but it seemed like you can only order their drinks online. I didn't try their drinks or cakes yet, but I would definitely come back for their gelato and sorbet alone. read more
Saw this new matcha spot that opened up at the Cupertino village and decided to swing by to check it out. Needless to say, we beat the line just in time after placed our order. The place is pretty modern and aesthetically pleasing when you walk in. We got the Jasmine matcha latte and king coconut with the jasmine gelato. Both tasted super delicious and rich in the matcha taste. We suggest ordering the gelato on the side for the coconut one since the matcha seems to overpower the matcha itself. Unlike other places, they have 4-5 different levels of matcha intensity you can try out here. The employees were really nice and gave out solid recommendations for first timers. I would highly suggest coming here a bit early or during non traffic hours. We will be back again to try out their calls that they had displayed out and other drinks that they offer. The newest matcha spot in town! I came on a rainy sunday so the wait wasnt too bad. I was expecting another one hour wait given that seems to be the trend with every new boba spot. We got free samples of the jasmine tea and it is fragrant! The tea flavor really comes out. Yet another location with no boba as a topping though, but the drink was really good. I also got the gelato and for regular size you get two flavors. You get to try them as well! I got yuzu shiso which i highly recommend! Very good yuzu flavor and the shiso flavor also comes out. & I got hojicha which is as expected - good! I did sign up for a membership but I didn't get the $2 welcome reward. Randomly found this spot after eating ramen and wow! Such a pleasant place to go. I think the either just opened today or are super new in general - service was wonderful. The matcha quality is out of this world. I loved it! I got the 4inch matcha pistachio for my bf's birthday and they packaged it up so nicely. A nice bag with a very pretty box, utensils, and even some ice bags to keep the cake cold (it's a gelato cake haha). For my drink, I got the guava matcha with 30% sugar. Matcha is wonderful and the flavor of the guava is so natural. Normally the flavor is tied to the sweetness, but the flavor of the guava really shined. Definitely planning on coming back!! read more
UPDATE Came for the ice cream and it is very flavorful and concentrated. Gelato is carefully put on and stuffed fully into the cup with no empty spaces. Topped with pistachio nut. Number 5 is the strongest matcha and the higher the number correlates with how strong the matcha is. The pistachio was my favorite. Strong nutty flavor. Hojicha was also solid! Would come back to try the cake next time. Happen to come here for Valentine's Day and they were doing raffles for $20 spent and luckily won a box of flowers! read more
This place reminds me a lot like molly tea and I love it! I got the guava matcha and it tastes so fresh (not artificially sweet) either. You can tell the ingrieidnts are much better and high quality. I want to come back and try the white champaca. Very busy but service is quick! read more
Visited Matcha Town on a weekday night and there was no line. Best time to go because it's not crowded and the customer service is really good. I had a scoop of the level 4 matcha and I loved how earthy it tasted. It wasn't too bitter and not too sweet either however the caffeine in it woke me up. LOL We also got one of the cakes and I wasn't a fan of the flavor. I think I'd go back to try the others. read more
I came here one weekend, it was busy and packed. You order items through a kiosk yourself, no actual staff helping. Trying to reach a staff with questions is a bit difficult when they are busy. Interior of the shop was very nice and modern, staff were friendly but very busy. Anyways got the White Champaca gelato and a jasmine matcha. For the gelato, you can sample their gelatos and have your pick. I tried their #1 matcha and it was very strong, I can't imagine how strong #5 is. Anyways, I got the white champaca gelato which had a nice floral taste to it with some bits of texture in it. The jasmine matcha had some jasmine flavor but the matcha flavor comes through. If you like matcha, this is definitely the place, their matcha has a strong taste. They also have gelato cakes ~$30, which look very nice, but did not get a chance to try. read more
New matcha store in town! Is it worth the hype? If you come at peak hours, you can expect to wait in line for 1-2 hours. If you only want a drink, you can order ahead online however, I'm not sure if you can order cakes and gelato online. I attempted to order online while waiting in line and the site said that all ice cream and cakes were sold out but you can order it in person. Not sure if this has since changed. The matcha latte was not well mixed with clumps of matcha in my drink. The flavor was also just plain with even a lack of matcha flavor. The cakes are beautiful and of great quality but a hack would be to order their gelato instead. The cakes are made of gelato and it costs $30 for a 4 inch cake. However, it's only $12 for a double scoop of ice cream. So if you're not looking to gift the cake to someone, just try their gelatos. read more

Went to Matcha Town for a matcha drink but ended up trying their gelatos instead! Got the White Champaca and Matcha No. 3. The White Champaca was the star of the show. Super creamy with this light crunchy texture that kinda reminds me of rice krispies. I'm still thinking about it. The matcha flavor was solid but I should have chosen level 4 for a deeper flavor. There was a bit of a wait but it does move. There's two screens for you to order from. If you get gelato, just bring your receipt to the counter and they scoop it for you. read more
Had to hop on the hype and give this place a try! Came on a Saturday at noon and there was no parking, even in 99 Ranch lot LOL Friends and I ordered in the app beforehand because we knew it'd be a long wait. One thing we were sad about was that the gelato says SOLD OUT online. We were sad that we couldn't order the gelato online, but found it funny because the floats were available to purchase online and those include gelato. It's probably because it might melt as they sit at the pickup station, but the app displays when an order is ready so I feel like it should be allowed to be pre-ordered, and as long as the customer picks it up in that window, the gelato should be intact. I love White Champaca tea but the flavor was not as strong as I'd hope. Only the first sip was fragrant with white champaca but the rest of the drink just tasted like pure matcha. Matcha tasted good quality though. I prefer not too sweet so I got 50% sugar which was a good level. Maybe will give it another try once the hype simmers down as it does feel chaotic in there with the crowd. read more
This is located in the Cupertino plaza near the ramen place. Depending on the time and day you go, finding parking can be difficult. I recommend ordering ahead of time if you're just ordering drinks. However, if you want the gelato or cakes, then be prepared to wait for roughly 30 minutes! Gelato(10/10): I got the white champaca and black sesame for my flavors. I sampled the other flavors and I thought some of them were pretty strong. I thought the yuzu would be creamy and slightly sour, but it's REALLY sour. If you enjoy sour gelato, this is for you! The white champaca was my favorite flavor alongside black sesame. The white champaca tasted creamy, floral, and not overpowering at all. The gelato had bits of cookie crumble which gave it a nice crunch. The black sesame tasted very nutty and creamy. I loved how dark the black sesame was. It really shows they put a lot in it! Jasmine Matcha(8/10): The drink was delicious! You can really taste the Jasmine in the drink! I couldn't really taste the matcha, but it's still good nonetheless. Regular sweetness was the perfect sugar level for me. Service(10/10): Ordering was pretty quick considering we already knew what we wanted, but deciding on the flavors was a little difficult. There were many flavors to choose from, but the worker helped us out and gave us recommendations! Overall, I think the wait is worth it because you can order your drinks ahead of time! Drink 4/5 Matcha Town is a new local favorite! The matcha is smooth and tastes a little bitter and grassy. I got the pink guava matcha and it is definitely a unique drink. The guava doesn't taste too much like natural red guava, I got 50% sweet. They also have cakes that are really popular; I see more people walking out with a cake than a drink, will try next time! Service 4.5/5 There are two self order kiosks you can use. People here care about the service as you can see them preparing each drink and explaining the diff gelato flavors. You can really tell they care about sourcing and preparation. Ambiance 4/5 The atmosphere is calm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax or catch up with friends. Got the champaca matcha and the tea flavor was negligible. Waited 30+ mins to order the drink and then another 30+ mins to get the drink. There was also no parking so had to park far away. The store itself is small. The line goes outside. Went on a rainy day so it was not ideal. It wasn't worth the wait. Would not come back. read more

Went to the grand opening of Matcha Town in Cupertino last week(?) The line was super long but luckily moved quickly. Even though the focus is matcha, you can tell the place is chinese based on the interior and decor My friend and I got the triple flavor gelato - yuzu shiso sorbet, matcha no5, and white champaca. The yuzu shiso was the sweetest, to balance out the sour and minty flavors. I liked the matcha no 5, it was strong but not too sweet. If they could make a matcha 6+ I think I would like that too though. The white champaca was nice because it and nuts in it and tasted like molly tea my favorite at molly tea is always the white champaca. I'd come back again for gelato! I love matcha so I was excited when I found out about this place. I came when it opened on a weekday. When I got there 10 minutes before no line but at 11am there was a handful of people. There's a lot of staff and everyone I interacted with was really nice. Actually, everyone I was in line with was nice too! The girls I was in line with helped me decide what to get. Gelato - there's two sizes and cone/cup option. I got a regular cone. There's a specific line to get your gelato and you get to try and pick flavors. The regular is 2 flavors and the larger size is 3 sizes. I got level 4 matcha and the hojicha - OMG SOOOOOOO GOOD. would come back just for the gelato! Guava matcha latte - Flavors are good. matcha sesame cake- so freaking delicious! The matcha was so rich and creamy. Matcha shortage where?? From branding to marketing, this place was nicely executed! I unknowingly came during grand opening weekend, and they were running a BOGO promo, which was a nice surprise. The line was long but moved quickly, and the staff were incredibly friendly and they were passing out gelato samples for everyone to try. The inside was small and the space felt nice, clean and elevated despite it being super crowded and hectic on grand opening. Here's what I tried: Salted cheese matcha float: (4.5/5) You get to choose the gelato intensity, I opted for level 5, which it the most intense. Their gelato texture is super smooth and creamy! The drink itself was very nice and pronounce. I definitely had matcha overload but in the best way possible! Salted cheese white champaca matcha: (2.5/4) The salted cheese cream is more pronounce in this one which makes the drink very creamy. I felt like it overpowered the drink and I could barely able to taste the matcha or the champaca. Overall, is this hyped? Yes. With the steep price tag ($10+ for some drink), I don't see myself coming back regularly for drinks but I am intrigue to try more of their gelato! read more

Honestly thought we had a worldwide shortage of matcha? BUT THIS PLACE OPENED UP!! Born in Cupertino as the place says. I went this past Sunday for their bogo deal and it was well worth the 1 hour wait. Parking was crazy by the way. I ended up parking where 99 ranch was. The wait went by fast and did not wrap around the building. I got the matcha salted cheese with a scoop of the jasmine matcha on top, and my sister got their salted cheese matcha. Both exceeded expectations and the matcha quality is there. Both drinks were unable to adjust ice, but sugar adjusting is fine. We don't like our matcha super bitter but this was a great balance. Jasmine matcha is something I haven't heard of before but the flavors pair well together. They offer cakes here as seen as in the picture and offer sampling of their gelatos too. Their gelato texture is creamy. SUPER SUPER CREAMY. Drinks are more on the pricer side of around $8-9, WITHOUT toppings. As for the gelato, depending on the size you get, it's about the same as a price of the drink. By the way, I signed up for their rewards program on the spot before paying, and turns out I got to use $2 off coupon on the same transaction! Sadly didnt have the best experience. We didn't love the matcha. It was bitter and not what we were expecting. Matcha latte was a let down -- very bitter and not smooth at all. The salted cheese matcha Jasmine was decent but the Jasmine was overpowering and the drink was diluted. the salted cheese saved this drink. At $8/drink Id expect more! read more

I stumbled upon this place after visiting a clay pot place across from it. The location itself is pretty small inside and there was a line foe the ice-cream. I really regret not trying the guava matcha latte, but it was either that or the Gelato and I went with the Gelato, specifically the white champaca and no 3- it's a perfect balance of sweetness and grassiness. The white champaca has cookie pieces which is different from molly tea-haha. I tried the jasmine matcha and it was also amazing. They also have other flavors, think chocolate, pistachio, pineapple, passion fruit etc. ***AMBIANCE AND SERVICE: looks like they recently opened and had some specials going on. So the lines snaked all the way out. I was surprised to see people braving the winter cold to get a cone of icecream. So I was intrigued and decided to check them out. ***GELATO: I was honestly blown away. The chocolate flavor was really dark chocolate, maybe like 70-80% dark. I went when the spot opened, not too long ago. The line was hella long, waited over 20 minutes to get my order. The wait afterward wasn't too long. The inside is pretty small. There's only really a row of benches & 3 tiny tables to put your drinks on. Definitely gets congested when you're waiting for your drinks. The staff were friendly & were cool with the amount of samples I could try for the gelato. The gelato was pretty dam good. My favorite was definitely the white champaca, it had a slight nutty note & by far my favorite because of that reason! No. 2 Matcha was well-balanced & not too bold. The hojicha was ok. All flavors had a smooth consistency & a good amount of gelato for 3 flavors in one large cup. I was interested in trying the pink guava matcha floral milk tea (70% sugar). It's a solid drink. Solid drinks and gelato! Really loved that the line moves fast and the workers are very efficient. Once you order, they start making your items right away so that there is very minimal waiting time from ordering to getting your items, which I appreciate. We were surprised that it was a bogo drinks weekend and all the workers were so calm and helpful with our questions even though there was a massive line outside. If you ordered gelato, you don't need to tell them your flavors at ordering. You are able to sample the gelato flavors after you order and can make your final picks then which I think more places should do! The drinks were good and the matcha quality was authentic. Inside is pretty small. Just a long bench for quick seating. More of a grab and go place. It reminds me of Molly tea but matcha version. read more
I hear good things about their gelato, but I also wanted to try a drink so I opted for their hojicha float when I went for their grand opening. The hojicha taste was prominent, so I was happy. The gelato was slight icy at the bottom where it touches the drink, but I liked that consistency too. The drink itself was not bad. I got it at 50% sweetness as per recommended, and I thought it was perfect sugar level. The only thing I was a bit bummed about is the fact that they put a loooot of ice. The ice level was at the line right above where the stickers are placed. Maybe it's because I ordered the float, and the gelato required that much ice in order to stay afloat. There was a line out the door when I visited, and it was a Thursday morning! I've heard a lot of buzz about this place, so I was super excited to check it out. The exterior of the store is nondescript, but the interior is decorated adorably. There's a whole shelf of Matcha Town merch, like key chains and even matcha powder. The store is very chic and features pops of green in the posters and marble. It's honestly a very small store, especially given the large crowds, so seating is limited. The menu features drinks and gelato. Every single drink sounded phenomenal. They have some unique offerings, like the salted cheese series and coconut series. This place is most definitely not cheap, so prepare to spend a pretty penny on a delicious drink. You can adjust the levels of ice and sugar for every drink, which is a nice touch. There are a variety of toppings you can add to your drink, including sago, cheese foam, and taro balls. I tried the white champaca matcha, which was decadent and floral. The matcha flavor was prominent and balanced well with the sweet champaca taste. It was a rich and memorable matcha. The pink guava matcha was another hit, a beautiful shade of pink and perfectly fruity. While picking up my order, I spotted an impressive gelato bar. The gelato section offers a variety of flavors, ranging from hojicha to different degrees of matcha. If you prefer a deep, rich matcha, they definitely have a gelato flavor for you. On top of gelato, there's a beautiful display of artistic, brightly colored cakes in flavors like yuzu and black sesame. I've been seeing this place all over my feed, so I had to try it. The inside is super aesthetic, clean, and the staff were really welcoming. You order and pay at the counter, then move down the side to choose your flavors and pick up your drinks. I got the salted cheese white champaca matcha and really liked it! It has nice floral notes, and you can taste the matcha, and the sweetness is just right. My friend ordered the salted cheese matcha float with the No. 4 ice cream, and she loved it, especially since she prefers a more authentic matcha taste. They were also very clear about cross-contamination with flavors, which I appreciated for anyone with allergies. Overall, great matcha and a really nice experience. read more

Finally got around to visiting one of the newer matcha spots in the bay that I've been seeing all over my feed! Inside was super aesthetic and clean and I felt very welcomed by all the staff. You order/pay at the counter and then make your way down the side where you pick your flavors and pickup your order. Unfortunately, I was not able to actually try any of the flavors due to food allergy! They were very good about informing me that all flavors are cross contaminated - so people with nut (pistachio) or any allergies, beware! I would recommend mentioning it at the cashier before paying but they appropriately reversed my charge and apologized again. I was super grateful they let me know and were honest about the contamination, but I do wish they didn't cross contaminate so much so I could have tried some of their items :/ read more
I came here specifically for their matcha guava drink and it met my expectations! I kept seeing Matcha Town all over Instagram, so I made a crazy decision to come here 1 hour before closing time on a Saturday. The line was pretty long and we had to wait 20 minutes for a drink. By the time we made it to the register, there was only 1 cake left. Their drinks are not as unique other than the matcha guava (which I enjoyed), compared to other stores, so I might not come back for their lattes. Their latte mostly tasted like milk. Selling a 4 inch cake starting at $26 is very bold without selling single slices. By the way, a 4 inch cake serves 2-3 people while the 6 inch cake feeds 4-6 people. I've heard good reviews about their cakes, but maybe I'll come back with a bigger group. I'm not sure what makes this place popular, so I do have to come back and try their gelato, not gonna lie it looks great. The shop is aesthetic, but it's too crowded inside and seats are limited. Matcha Town is a little similar to Molly Tea, the way they display their merchandise and the drinks they offer. Flow state is pretty good though, there's plenty of restaurants around and also several dessert spots to choose from in this plaza. Parking may be hard to find, but there's also a garage you can park at in the back. read more

Gelato added a nice creaminess to this drink. Definitely get 0% sweetness, though, as the ice cream adds more sweetness to it. If you're looking for dessert, this is a good option. - Level 3 Matcha Gelato: 5/5 so creamy, smooth, and the matcha depth is very much there! - Pure matcha: 4/5 quite good for just pure matcha. Not too grassy and didn't leave a dry taste on my tongue. - Matcha latte: 3/5 there were some matcha chunks at the bottom which makes me think they didn't whisk well enough. Drink was fine and matcha was definitely high quality. Service is slow and the store layout makes for terrible traffic flow. Seating is practically nonexistent. Highly recommend coming when it is open because the line can get fairly wrong. We came to try the drinks but a ton of people were going to buy the cakes. I kept hearing how delicious the cakes were so maybe that's something I'll try next time. This location is located in a plaza with a parking lot. It's a small spot with a few seats inside but it can get crowded by people waiting for their order. The staff was very friendly and showed us about the app. It looks like you can get a first time discount through the app if you order online. We ordered the matcha latte and the jasmine matcha. The jasmine was very strong and floral which I liked but it over powered the matcha. For the matcha latte, I felt like it tasted more milky. I wish the matcha was stronger or thicker so it didn't get lost in the milk. I would come back again but maybe just for the gelato or cake. read more

I really wanted to love Matcha Town, but I left feeling pretty disappointed, unfortunately. While the customer service was good, there is significant room for improvement with the drinks. I tried the Matcha Latte, the Pink Guava Matcha, and the Salted Cheese White Champaca Matcha. The standard Matcha Latte was surprisingly tiny, and the flavor felt very thin, which usually points to a lower-grade matcha. The Salted Cheese White Champaca Matcha was a bit better, but the matcha flavor was almost nonexistent. The only highlight was the Pink Guava Matcha since it's so unique and different, but even then, the matcha was overshadowed by the guava. For a dedicated matcha spot, I expected a much bolder and higher-quality taste. Right now, the quality just doesn't justify the visit when compared to other specialized shops in the area. I might give them one more try for their ice creams, but I really hope they can refine their drink ratios before their grand opening. read more
