    Lemon loaf matcha
    Fateha A.

5/5 Lemon loaf matcha $7- really good- slight bitter aftertaste, both matcha & lemon loaf flavors are well balanced, tastes like Entenmann's lemon loaf cake otherwise, not too sweet, my friend thought the almond flavor was too strong

Great matcha! Love the flavor variety! Long line but fast to get my order. Not sure it's worth the hype but definitely worth a visit. Got the Banana Bread matcha, great banana flavor!

Boy, do I love the smell of VC-backed coffee in the morning. A Claim promo got me in here (also VC-backed, oop), and I ordered an iced pistachio latte with oat milk at 11:33 AM on a Sunday. Got the beverage after about a 15-min wait which is a little long for a chain. It was WAY too sweet. When you walk in here and see the hordes of teens, you'll understand.

    Matcha and blondie

TikTok overhyped this place. We ordered a blondie iced coffee, it was the best one out of the order. Vanilla bean matcha latte and classic vanilla matcha tasted almost the same. The matcha itself was very earthy, decent quality and was prepared well. The service was a little chaotic due to our party and another having the same name on the order so there was a hiccup but after getting things settled everyone got the right drinks. It's a small spot so be patient with the workers, it's crowded and they make every drink one at a time.

Fresh and tasty matcha. Requested drink without sugar and little ice. The drink came out with fragrant match taste. Although there was a line when we stopped in twice. Service was fast.

One of THE BEST coffee shops I've ever had!! Their Daydream Latte... oh my gosh don't even get me started. SO FREAKING GOOD. I dream about this latte daily and would totally get it every day if I could. It's actually perfect. I also tried their Banana Bread Matcha which was, surprise surprise, also amazing!! Blank Street can do no wrong. Their matcha didn't taste like flavored milk (thank goodness) and I was shocked at how close they got the flavoring to real banana bread. Really good! Their seasonal drinks are always so creative yet tasty, and they really nail it in terms of curating new flavors that are not just trendy/fun but also pair well together. It's always so hard for me to decide what to order when I visit since everything looks so good. My friend also got their banana bread and that was seriously one of the best banana breads I've ever had. Don't know how they do it but they seriously get everything right.

Went into Blank Street thinking it was overhyped, came out being a fan. I ordered the Daydream Iced Latte which is vanilla bean, honey, and cinnamon syrup. Took a sip and literally said out loud, "oh that's good" There was definitely a little bit of a wait and the AC was barely working so it was a little hot in the store. Overall solid place and definitely on my list of coffee places to hit up!

My husband and I were on the search for some of the best coffee spots in New York City and Blank Street was on our list. I ordered the iced strawberry cheesecake Matcha and my husband ordered the daydream latte. Both were some of the best iced coffees that we had ever had. The service is absolutely outstanding. Beware there will be a line, but it moves quickly. The store is bright airy and cozy. I would definitely come back here and if you are ever in the area, please stop by. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Good coffee, kind people, fun atmosphere. Be careful ordering a specialty latte unless you like your coffee very sweet. I would order again, but I'd ask for the coffee to be half sweet. Good place to visit for a quick pick-me-up!

    Salted pistachio matcha

I had a lot of matcha on my last trip to NYC and a lot of it was great but I'm convinced their salted pistachio matcha altered my brain chemistry. I'm actually sad I won't be able to have it again anytime soon. On a separate visit I also had their rocky road latte and that was excellent as well.

It was super quick and made to order! The space is small but efficient service helped! I enjoyed the strawberry shortcake matcha and am excited to try the blueberry one as recommended. Not too strong matcha taste but got me through the work day.

I was at this quaint tea shop east of Koreatown earlier in the evening before going to a meal at the excellent new Thai place, Wanglang. The staff was very friendly, and they specialize in matcha, along with having hojicha, genmaicha, black tea, and sencha. Along with more traditional drinks, they also have fruit options as well as black sugar jelly (I presume kuromitsu) and a Japanese citrus that's not seen much here, hyuganatsu. Along with the citrus, this place is rather unique as they had three different matcha options in terms of variety. As I tend to prefer teas pure and without add-ons, I ordered the Matcha Americano, which is simply matcha and water. I went with the 12-oz version for $6 + tax and ordered the Hajime, though I would likely get the Fuku No Midori next time based on descriptions online. The matcha was solid and had a mild sweetness and a light earthiness. However, it lacked some of the mouth coating found in very high-quality drinks from Sorate or Setsugekka, while being similar in price. Still, that is comparing to some of the best, and this was still very tasty and a lot better than 90% of the places in the city, being more comparable to Kettl. I wouldn't mind going back and ordering the other matcha varietal to see whether that is a better comparison. Outside of this, I enjoyed my drink, and the staff was friendly. I hope they do well.

Mika's Direction is a small matcha-focused shop tucked slightly off the main flow of Koreatown,…read moreeasy to miss if you are not actively looking for it. The space is extremely compact, functioning more like a takeout counter than a café, with only minimal room inside. The main focus here is matcha, with a distinctive approach that lets you choose between three blends: Hinata, which leans creamy and nutty; Hajime, which is more smoky and earthy; and a more traditional-style matcha profile. Drinks like the mango matcha show how they play with these bases, though fruit purées can sometimes overshadow the matcha depending on the combination. They also offer matcha powder for home use and occasional fresh pastries that add a warm, baked aroma to the space. Service is one of the strongest parts of the experience. The staff is consistently warm, attentive, and willing to explain the differences between blends in detail. The atmosphere is cozy but extremely tight, built for short visits rather than lingering. It is not a workspace or hangout café, but more of a quick stop that stands out because of its hospitality and focus on craft. Even in a busy area, it leaves a memorable impression through its matcha quality and genuinely personable service.

Located inside Hashi Market, we walked into a space that feels less like a typical café and more like discovering a hidden Japanese food stop while browsing through the store. The setup is simple but has a unique appeal, the kind of place that works well for a quick drink, dessert, or something to take with you while exploring the area. The connection to the market adds a layer of discovery that makes the visit feel more interesting, and the compact, functional design keeps the focus on the quality of the matcha rather than the surroundings. The matcha offerings are the main highlight, especially for anyone who enjoys a stronger and more authentic matcha flavor. We tried the matcha latte and appreciated that the matcha taste was noticeable rather than being overwhelmed by sweetness. The flavor had a deeper earthy quality, which made it stand out from many sweeter matcha drinks that focus more on milk and syrup. Their matcha ice cream and matcha soft serve also seem to be popular choices, and the desserts lean more toward showcasing the matcha itself instead of just using it as a flavoring. What we liked about Fujiissa is that the menu feels more creative than the standard matcha lineup. Along with traditional options, they have more unique combinations like matcha cold foam drinks and other specialty creations. The matcha affogato is especially appealing for matcha lovers because it highlights both the creamy ice cream texture and the concentrated matcha flavor together. The service was another positive part of the visit. The staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations, which made it easier to decide what to try. Since the space is connected to a Japanese market, it is also a nice place to browse before or after getting a drink rather than being only a quick grab-and-go stop. Fujiissa is a great spot for anyone looking for matcha that has a stronger flavor and a more Japanese-inspired feel. It is not the place to recommend if you prefer very sweet dessert-style matcha, but for people who enjoy the actual taste of matcha, the drinks and desserts are worth checking out. The combination of the market setting, unique menu options, and quality matcha makes it a memorable stop, offering a matcha experience that feels both authentic and thoughtful without overcomplicating what it sets out to do.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! FYI - there are two unisex restrooms in the rear for customers to use with really cute wallpapers too.

We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
