Love this place! Had a nice date night with the wife. Beautiful weather outside so we opted to sit outside on their patio. Two servers working the area and did well coordinating between each other as when we sat down a couple other tables sat themselves. Our serve Zach greeted us and introduced himself with great energy! He was good to ask all the typical appropriate questions and asked if we needed any drinks. My wife had their Peach Lemon Drop and I went with their Frozen Prickled Pear Margarita. Both were tasty and that Lemon Drop had quite a heavy pour which while great, needed a little sprite to make it drinkable. We both have been here before and knew what we wanted, we both got their sliders and opted to get fries and onion strings. Their onion strings are INCREDIBLE. Sliders came out slightly pink as requested and were delicious! We also had their arancini as an app which was so cheesy and delicious! Shout out to Zach for keeping us updated on our food and drinks as the bar was busy after happy hour ended. Great service and we will definitely be back again. My review solely pertains to their brunch menu/servings. I've had the pleasure of holding group events for brunch in the past that wowed everyone but this past occasion was anything but that. Their regular menu had about 4 brunch items listed and then they had a grouped menu; you could pick an app and meal, of which they had several listed including the 4 on the full menu. We ordered the cinnamon buns which were 3/$14 and grossly overpriced for what was served. They were brought out on (what I call) a bbq tray. They were small, cold, hard, with bare any icing. The last time we ordered these they came out piping out with more servings in a skillet pan. Whatever these are now - don't waste your money. No one even wanted to eat the last one that's how underwhelmed we were. If you order one of the meals on the group menu a la carte (ex steak and eggs which isn't on the normal menu) you'll end up paying more which our server didn't tell us. My hangover burrito was flavorful but I wasn't expecting beans and rice on the side; the description didn't clarify that so I thought it was all wrapped up. On top of that they missed one of the orders and the guest had to watch everyone eat for 10m. There was also something going on with the heat bc literally everyone in the restaurant kept their winter coats on. We all come to the consensus that this is just not a brunch spot anymore. Located right next to Jinya in Mosaic, it's a great location with tons of parking. I've been here for both lunch and happy hour. Both experiences were really great! The place is clean and pretty large, we were sat right away both times. For lunch I ordered the wood-fired lamb sandwich and to my surprise, it was really great! The chickpea fries are pretty interesting, I've never had them anywhere. They have a very interesting texture to them. The sandwich itself is great as well! I recommend getting it if you're in the mood for some Mediterranean food. I also tried black bean veggie burger for HH. It's not on the HH menu but still good and a good price nonetheless. A match made in heaven! Absolutely amazing pizzas (get the Spicy Meatball!), but definitely make a reservation unless you want to wait in chaos. I came on a Friday night, and the waiting area was swarming and the line was out the door. Wait time was an hour, which was too long for me - I thought I would die of hunger. Luckily, it was worth it. The ambience was beautiful and romantic, and the restaurant was spacious - I almost got lost in the maze. Service was friendly and warm, and the food was outstanding and also very reasonably priced: $60 for a party of 5. I ordered two pizzas, both half and half, so I got to sample 4 of the flavors (I'd definitely recommend doing this). Each pizza was cut into 6 slices and had thin, crispy crusts which were slightly charred and really brought out the flavors of the pizza. I had the Chicken Pesto, Q Special (chicken, mushrooms, red peppers), Spicy Soppressata Salami & Wild Mushroom, and Spicy Meatball. All four of them were bursting with flavor from the combination of the freshest toppings and zesty sauces. My favorite was the Spicy Meatball, which came with huge house-made spicy meatballs on the pizza as well as crispy BACON that sizzled under the cheese. The meats really made this pizza perfect - it was so savory and absolutely delicious. The thin crust made me feel like less of a pig, even though I was literally eating bacon. I also had the Italian Sausage Rigatoni, which came with generous chunks of sausage, a sprinkling of romano cheese, peas, and garlic bread on the side. The sausage was so flavorful, especially with the zesty tomato sauce, and I couldn't get enough of it. The garlic bread was so warm and comforting, with a perfectly crispy crust and a gooey inside that melted in my mouth. I was not very hungry so opted for the three mini burgers for my entree and found it to be a "just right" serving. The order came with a huge serving of onion straws. Ordered the sliders and bowl of cream of crab soup. The soups was well balanced. Although my husband thought it was a little bit salty. It was generously filled with chunks of crab meat. I think i had a chuck of crab meat with every spoonful of the cream soup. Solid tip: flavors were enhanced and made 100% better by adding some of the onion straws!!!! If you dont know, consider yourself woke! The sliders were amazing and lived up to the hype. The onion straws were not oily nor salty with a drizzle of parmesan cheese. The sliders were cooked slightly pink inside... only way to cook meat imo. The slice of pickle made the taste balanced. We never order soda but today my husband was craving for a fountain Coke. I asked the server for one. The server stated that they try to cut down on straws and gave use paper straws. Eehhh! First of all it was hot in there and stuffy because their air wasn't working and we weren't even notified of this issue before being seated. Update - Matchbox has a happy hour from 3:00 to 7:00 on weekdays (some of the menus say 3:00 to 6:00, but they appear to have extended it). They offer a few beers for $5, wines for $6, and cocktails for $7. Even so, I would generally recommend skipping the drinks. They are typically very light on liquor and heavy on the sugar and mixers. For $7, I might get one, but even then, they are typically too sweet. And I'll be that they do put some alcohol in there, but there have been times when I really couldn't tell for sure. For $11, skip them for sure. Stick with wine and beer here. read more

Excited to try this new place out, I came here on a Monday night with my girlfriend. I tried making reservations on OpenTable and it said that there were none available for 2 people at 8PM which was weird because I called the restaurant afterward and they had plenty of space. The inside is very spacious and nicely decorated. There are different matchboxes displayed on each table (ours was Hello Kitty lol) as the name would imply. I really liked the bar set-up and the atmosphere. However, they turned down the lights a little after we were seated and it was too dark for me. We ordered the Matchbox Meat Pizza, Prosciutto and Fig Pizza, and the Mini-Burgers. Mini-Burgers (3 for $9): The delicious mini-burgers were the perfect sized appetizer. You can choose how you want them cooked (we got medium rare and that was just right for me) and have the option of adding cheese for $1 extra. They also came with really thin onion fries! I would highly suggest getting this appetizer, especially if you're in a big group! Matchbox Meat Pizza ($14small/$21large): We got a small Matchbox Meat and this was just OK in my opinion. It's like their meat-lover's version. It was not bad, but nothing special. Matchbox pizzas are very thin and I believe there is none to very little sauce. As a result, I thought that this one looked a little greasy. Prosciutto & Fig ($14small/$21large): The Prosciutto and Fig was a great balance of salty and sweet. It reminds me of the popular 'bacon-wrapped dates' appetizer. It was a very unique pizza, but I feel like people would either love it or hate it. Fortunately, I loved it! Service was very attentive. The host/hostesses were very friendly. The only thing that I didn't like was that I felt our server tried to upsell too much. I told him I wanted water but he was adamant about me trying a craft beer or cocktail. Then he seemed disappointed that we were too full for dessert. I made the mistake of ordering something semi-healthy here -- the wood-fired lamb sandwich w/ chickpea fries. The only thing wood-fired was the pita/flatbread, the lamb was tender, but completely bland. It only tasted good if you dipped it in the accompanying tzatziki, but the chickpea fries were delish. I would totally ask for a basket of it instead of your usual fries. The S.O. nailed it by ordering the Matchbox Meat pizza. I like how the pizza comes out fresh, thin, and doughy highlighting the generous toppings and ingredients. Must-Order: The Cinnamon Rolls. They make them in house and serve them straight from the cast-iron skillet. They're super light and airy and not overly sweet. Considering the quality, it's bang for your buck at $6. Service: Friendly and knowledgeable. Their credit card machines were down so they had to manually write a receipt for us which delayed service a bit, but otherwise speedy with the food considering we came during lunch on a Saturday. Decor: This location is HUGE compared to the cramped one in Chinatown (obviously 'cause it's in the 'burbs). The bar is massive as well. Even though this place does not have Happy Hour specials, It's a cool spot to hang out after work. On my first visit, I ordered the Bison Burger. It was too big to handle (yep, I said it) but the mess it produced was worth it. My burger was seasoned very well. It made cheating on my "diet" worth all the calories. The sandwhich was served with a side of the biggest onion rings I have ever seen. Aside from the visual presentation, I didn't enjoy the onion rings. If I were to order again, I would go with the steak fries. This location is actually much bigger than it looks.
