Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. The short man on the cash register, Tony D, as well the cook, were dismissive when I asked questions and pressured me into taking the food that I didn't order. From the moment I said hello until I received my incorrect order, Tony was curt with me. I ordered a Kalua Pork Plate but instead got a something entirely different. I tried asking for clarification but the chef just told me that he got my order from Tony and Tony told the chef an entirely different story. Would not recommend because there are plenty of other options in the Armory, with much better customer service. The owner was very rude about us drinking our beer from another stall at her restaurant. If she didn't want the other patrons doing that, she should tell the restaurant that sold us the beer to tell their patrons that since this is like a food court situation. In fact, that's what she's doing right now, loitering at our table, as we eat talking to her coworker about us. It's inappropriate. Edit: she complained to her employees that we left a mess and that she should take a picture of it and post her own review of us lol. Seattle Center was quite busy today as there was an event at the Climate Pledge Arena. I stopped by for some teriyaki at ​The Little Chicken Teriyaki. They have a touchscreen where you pay for your order and then they call your name when it's ready. Ordered chicken teriyaki, tempura shrimp, and a small order of gyoza, and after a short wait, my order was ready. The Chicken Teriyaki plate came with two sides, I got broccoli and macaroni salad, the broccoli was really undercooked, almost raw, not sure if that was intentional or not, and it was a bit heavy on teriyaki sauce, the rice was drenched in sauce. However the portion was good and I enjoyed the chicken and the macaroni salad while skipping the broccoli and some of the more teriyaki sauce-saturated rice.​ Shrimp tempura plate came with 5 shrimps, I got the ginger slaw and the macaroni salad. Gyoza was deep fried and came with a ginger dipping sauce that might be the same as the dressing for the ginger slaw. I kept hearing Seattle is known for their teriyaki so I found the closest one to my hotel. It was tucked away inside a food hall. I'm not sure how traditional of a teriyaki this lands. It was more of a Hawaiian food establishment instead of straight teriyaki. First off, portions seems like they're huge but in reality, they actually just gave us way too much rice and rice will fill you up quick. Overall, The food was pretty good. The chicken was well marinated and seasoned. The best side was the Mac salad. It was creamy and very rich in texture. I didn't like the ginger slaw because I am not a big ginger fan. We are pretty opinionated about our teriyaki here in Seattle: everyone has a favorite. The chicken here at Little Chicken was pretty spot-on, if you're visiting Seattle Center and want a Seattle teriyaki experience this is a good stop for you! The chicken was moist and tender, with good char, the sauce was sweet but not cloying, and the slaw and cucumber sides were crunchy and refreshing counterparts. The chicken was piled excessively on the rice, too much for me to eat, and the sauce dripped down into the rice. So good. I got the gyoza as well, and they were also tasty: packed full, nice blistering on the wrapper, and a tangy vinegary sauce. All in all I have to say I was pretty darn happy! Chicken was served hot and quickly, service was great, and the Armory is always a fun place for people watching or catching a performance on the stage. Little Chicken is a great addition to the restaurants in the Armory, which can be a bit hit or miss. If I had to nitpick (this is Yelp after all!) the only thing I found myself missing was some extra spice, the spicy sauce had a good bite but left me wanting something a little hotter to dip into as an option. Such a let down. For $18 we got huge chunks of fat sold as pork. It was so greasy that it soaked through the plate and greased out the table. The Mac salad was obviously made warm so it curdled the mayo, the noodles were hard and it was not creamy. Rice was decent though. read more
