Had an awesome experience on Four Winds snorkeling Molokini Crater. The staff was super down to…read moreearth and friendly. When you get on board they have a light breakfast with fruit, croissants and muffins that you can snack on, as well as fruit juice. The ride out, they explain some safety stuff and how the day is going to run. There are 2 floors to the boat with the upstairs being much more open. There were only about 30 people the day we went but I believe they have up to 100, so a more crowded day may have a different experience. Despite being in November, we ended up seeing several whales coming to the surface (apparently they are in abundance come January). They provide snorkel gear and fins, but you are more than welcome to bring your own (we borrow fins only as we brought our own masks). They provide a simple anti fog spray which worked great. They let us snorkel for about 2 hours in the surrounding area asking us to stay within 50 yards of the boat with a buddy. The staff answered all our questions about what fish we were seeing and recommendation for how to see the best fish. There is also a glass bottom that you can climb down a ladder in the boat to see the fish without going in the water. They served lunch while docked so you could eat while you took a break from snorkeling. It was fish tacos with a selection of fish, pork or being burger meat. They had a slaw and quinoa side and some chips. Nothing fancy but o found it delicious after working up an appetite snorkeling. They had cameras for rent (extremely expensive so I'd bring your own), a photographer that took picture you could purchase for a fee ($80 for all the pictures she took of us, again a little pricey), wet suit tops for rent ($10 each) and special snorkel masks if you are near sighted (I believe this had no additional charge). The boat was pretty new, clean and open which was nice. I would 100% go out with this company again.

It's a shorter trip, which worked perfectly for the younger kids and didn't tie up a big amount of island time. Captain Nick and his crew was all about making sure all had a great time while keeping safety at the top of mind. They guaranteed we'd see turtles... we did! Immediately. I accused them of being remote controlled because they were there right on cue! I'm not a big snorkel guy, but I had a blast. We'll keep returning to Sea Maui. Greatest crew on Maui !!

On our vacation to Maui last week, we took trips out to the sea with Sea Maui twice. Our first trip…read moreout was an adults-only family excursion while the kids hung out with their grandma and auntie. The catamaran was pretty sweet, with some really comfy bean bags overlooking the edge out to the ocean. While we did occasionally get splashed in this area, it was worth the unobstructed view of the sunset and the breeze in my hair. The crew was especially sweet and treated all of us like absolute royalty. A note to those who are prone to motion sickness: do not try to be brave and only wear sea bands thinking you'll be okay. Take your Dramamine an hour before you board the catamaran. While the first half of our dinner cruise was fine with my motion sickness, the second half of the trip left me feeling really queasy around dinner service time. This made me very sad. This was no fault of the crew, and 100% my fault for thinking I could tough it out. If you are ill-prepared, the crew has ginger ale, club soda and ginger chews to help. Speaking of dinner, the few bites I was able to eat on our first trip were fantastic: a full dinner buffet prepared by Cafe Jai. The salmon was perfectly tender, as was the short rib. The caesar salad was just the right amount of tangy (and the extra dressing was really great on the salmon as well.) I'm not sure what kind of sauce was on the crispy seasoned potatoes but they were absolutely delightful. And of course, the crown on top of a delicious meal was the mini brownie cup we were served for dessert before we wrapped up the trip. Our second trip (where I was prepared with some Dramamine) was a memorial for our grandparents, where we released their cremains at sea with eco-urns. I must say that the crew handled everything wonderfully. We had the full bar, another beautiful buffet spread including some delicious crispy chicken, a pesto pasta salad, pulled beef sliders, and rolls. After we said our emotional goodbyes, we were given rose petals to release into the ocean. We even received certificates after the trip that gave us the coordinates of where my grandparents cremains were released. I seriously cannot thank Sea Maui enough for giving my family a truly memorable experience on our trip to Maui. They made our trip so special. A million thanks for the kindness!

The captain has a hyrophone and that's when we heard the whales sing. Towards the end of our tour, I heard the whale sounds with just my ear and without the hydrophone. It was a really cool and memorable experience. I highly recommend Maui Reef Adventure.

I chose this particular tour because it was a smaller group size and I did not want to feel crowded or overwhelmed on a boat with strangers. It was the perfect amount of people, and my husband and I ended up chatting with most of the other passengers, having lots in common. Our captain was Caiden, who was extremely kind, informative, and entertaining. We also had crewmates Sienna, Diego, and Jim looking out for us and making sure that we were comfortable and had all of our wants and needs met. I felt completely safe and comfortable the entire trip and I appreciated having a certified lifeguard on boat with us. The snorkeling experience was phenomenal and being pregnant, it made me feel so calm and relaxed. I appreciated learning the history of the two various locations we snorkeled at and the opportunity to see a sea turtle. The ship itself was pristine, and the restrooms were some of the cleanest I have ever experienced on a boat. The breakfast and lunch that they served us was tasty, and the macadamia nut cookies at the end were the perfect sweet treat. I appreciated that they were able to offer me mocktails since I cannot drink at this time, and those were tasty as well. This experience was worth every penny and I would definitely come back and do it again.

I booked a snorkeling tour for one person in March 2026. Both my booking confirmation through…read moreGetYourGuide and the confirmation from Hawaii Nautical clearly reflected that the reservation was for one guest. The evening before my tour, I called to confirm everything. During that call, the representative noticed what appeared to be a duplicate reservation and assured me she would cancel the duplicate booking. She also recommended that I contact GetYourGuide to verify I would not be double charged. GetYourGuide confirmed that my reservation had always been for only one person and that I had only been charged once. Despite this, approximately two hours before my scheduled departure, I received a call informing me that my tour was being canceled because there were not enough passengers. I even offered to purchase a second seat so the tour could proceed, but that offer was declined. What is most frustrating is not simply that the tour was canceled, but that this issue could have been communicated much earlier. If the company knew they were unlikely to meet their minimum passenger requirement, there was no reason to wait until two hours before departure. By that point, I had already arranged transportation, incurred cancellation fees on my ride, and lost the opportunity to book another snorkeling excursion during my vacation. Yes, I was refunded, but a refund is the bare minimum when a company cancels a service for reasons entirely within its control. The last-minute cancellation created unnecessary inconvenience and wasted valuable vacation time. If you're booking with Hawaii Nautical, especially as a solo traveler, be aware that your reservation may be canceled at the last minute if they don't have enough passengers. I would have appreciated more transparency and significantly more notice.

From the…read moremoment we stepped onboard until we returned to the harbor, everything was incredibly organized. The crew worked together like a well-oiled machine and made the entire experience seamless. A quick tip before you arrive: parking is $7, and you absolutely need to pay it. There were tow trucks literally sitting in the parking lot waiting for people who didn't pay. It definitely wasn't worth risking getting your rental car towed over $7! The food was surprisingly good! Breakfast included pastries, fresh fruit, muffins, a coffee bar, delicious juices, and water. They also served healthy snacks after snorkeling with fresh cucumbers, sliced bell peppers, carrots, broccoli, and hummus. Lunch was a choice of pulled pork sandwiches or deli sandwiches with chips, sodas, and other drinks. After snorkeling, alcoholic beverages were available for purchase as well. The boat itself was fantastic, with three bathrooms, two water slides, a jumping platform off the second deck, and even reef-safe sunscreen provided for everyone. The snorkeling was absolutely incredible! The coral was beautiful, and there was so much marine life. We saw countless tropical fish, two octopuses, a squid, needlefish, and more sea turtles than we could count. It truly felt like swimming in an aquarium. A special shoutout goes to Corine, who was the absolute highlight of our trip. Unfortunately, several people became seasick during the ride, and she cared for every single one of them with such kindness and compassion--bringing water, Dramamine, napkins, and constantly checking on them. She never seemed bothered and genuinely made those guests feel cared for. She was amazing! One tip: if you're prone to motion sickness, take Dramamine before the trip. We did see quite a few people getting sick over the side of the boat because the ocean can be rough. This excursion exceeded all of our expectations. Great food, an amazing crew, a beautiful boat, and some of the best snorkeling we've ever experienced. 10/10--we would absolutely do it again!

After checking in with him, he guided us to go to for gate boarding. Walked to the gate and was greeted by another quicksilver employee for boarding. In the process of boarding we took a group picture. Entered the boat and took our seats in front of the boat. Not to long, we were on our way out to sea. It was always my bucket list to see whales. It did not dissapoint, I was seeing whales left, right and back. Our captain was friendly and gave facts about the whales. He did not make the 2hr tour boring. Aside from whale watching, the employees were asking us if we wanted drinks. So we ordered a few adult beverages to keep us warm and enthusiastic on seeing whales. Overall, the best $49 spent. Whales are beautiful creatures. This was an eye opener for me. Educational experience. I would definitely do this again if given an opportunity. Keep in mind, when you take a whale tour you may not be as close to the whales. Some were .2 to .5 miles away. The whales drift and fast to move. Dont expect a free willy experience. We had about 40-45 minute time to ride the jet skies. The water was amazing beautiful blue color and the waves were pretty wild. Great time - thanks !!!

Found a black sand beach without needing reservations and driving 2 hours away from Grand Wailea…read more Few people around, fantastic snorkeling spot with fish everywhere (saw 2 snorkel boats nearby), tide pools and spotted a turtle close to shore. We even got to swim with the turtle up close for a bit, of course no touching. The shore is very rocky, so be sure to wear water shoes. While the sand is quite soft, we had a nicer time bringing chairs with us. Don't bother bringing a body board as it was way too rocky for that. For snorkelers, I recommend the south end of the beach by the rock wall. As soon as we got in, we saw fish everywhere to the left. If you go around the rock formations, that's where the tour boats took us last time we snorkeled with Redline Rafting, and we actually spotted them there again. So it's a great spot for snorkeling, although a bit more challenging with a rocky shore entry but just be careful, go slow and should be fine. I did it with my 9 year old and we had a great time. Definitely watch where you step because there are sea urchins the further out you go. It's quite a remote spot with no bathrooms or showers. Be sure to use the bathroom before you go, or the ocean is your bathroom as they say. The turnoff is a dirt road, a bit bumpy, but if you go slow you'll be fine. Although the lot is small, we found parking easily at 9:30am. We're happy we found this hidden gem away from the crowds, saw black sand, saw lots of fish and got to swim with a turtle!

We have taken three of their "Morning Walks" with our grandkids and it's a perfect introduction to hiking. Honestly we've had three different ...wonderful.. experiences. It's not strenuous and you're taken back to some private land that you'd not have access to if you just drove up and parked (if you found a parking spot) and hiked back in. We were lucky to have the lovely, fun, and knowledgeable guide named Randolyn ..aka Ran. Our snorkel package to Molokini Crater on Maui Magic started our trip off on such a high note. Captain Kiwini and crew were communicative, safe, fun, and helpful. We started the trip off with a warm welcome, muffins, and drinks. As we sailed out, we listened to some soft reggae music and passed around cards with the various fauna we might see as we sailed over the water. Upon arriving, they offered support to those feeling insecure about snorkel/snuba, gave us some great geographical context about monokini crater/Maui. They gave clear guidelines about where snorkeling was safe and where to avoid, and we had ample time to snorkel at Molokini- it was beautiful! We moved on to our next location (veggie sticks, ranch, and water as a mid morning snack), which was Turtle Town! Once again, clear instructions, interesting facts, and a good time. We had plenty of time in the water and even saw a shark, along with plenty of beautiful fish. The crew grilled up burgers (including veggie burgers) and provided fresh veggies, condiments, and chips. In addition to that, we got drinks on the way back- beer, wine, seltzers, and mai tais! As we sailed back to harbor, we chatted with other members of the tour, enjoyed the sunshine and music, and left full, happy, and ready for a nap! My husband and I took the morning Molokini Snorkel Tour on the advice of our son and his girlfriend who had thoroughly enjoyed the tour during their trip to Maui the year prior; we were so glad we decided to join Maui Magic Snorkel! The captain and her entire crew were amazing!!! Incredibly welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. Included in the tour is a welcoming breakfast which included a wonderful selection of fresh, island fruit, muffins and beverages. Later, you're treated to crudités and eventually a BBQ lunch! Ask about the Maui Waui burger, it's delicious!! The snorkeling at both stops was spectacular. Stunning marine life and vivid coral, the second stop we swam with sea turtles! The captain and her crew enjoyed learning about and interacting with their guests the entire time and were terrific with the children as well. My husband and I went on a Maui Magic Snorkel boat tour as per the recommendation of our concierge desk at our hotel, and we were SO happy we went! The boat wasn't crowded at all, and they provided us with a wet suit and flippers. Out first snorkeling spot was Molokini - the clearer than clear water at the crater is reason enough to do a tour vs. renting equipment on your own. Between the colorful coral and the extensive variety of fish, we were both amazed at how beautiful the water looked. During our second snorkeling spot, we swam with sea turtles! All throughout the boat ride, we were able to see a LOT of active humpback whales (we went in the beginning of February). Regarding the staff, they were all friendly, very knowledgeable, and even brought us mai tais without asking! They provided breakfast (coffee, muffins, fruit, etc.), lunch (burgers, chips, veggies, soda), and had a bar on the boat. I ordered a veggie burger with pineapple, and it was one of the best veggie burgers I've had. FYI, they offer you the option to do Snuba, but we just did regular old snorkeling. read more

Simply awesome! We had 9 in our group. Crew was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. All women crew and loved it. Ana, Charlene (I think), Annie the scuba master, and anyone else I forgot(horrible with names), treated us to a great ride. Did the morning snorkel trip. I chose to try the snuba and absolutely loved it. Would do it again in a heartbeat. It is extra but extremely worth it. I'm a big guy so they helped with everything to make sure I could do it. Annie was also very patient with me while I got used to breathing through mask without feeling like I was going to drown. Alwaays checked on me and once I got down under water, I fell in love. I will do this again. It is whole nother world down there. I don't care about the cost. It was worth it. Snuba in Maui. Done! Thanks again Maui Magic crew. I hope to see you again! I can't rave enough about the magnificent experience my husband and I had today. I am a local girl born and raised on Maui- growing up surfing and enjoying the ocean, but today's adventure was one of my favorite days We boarded the Maui Magic with warm greetings, along with complimentary breakfast. Captain Brennan Henders knew Maui's ocean- sharing his wealth of knowledge regarding the tide and the majestic whales. Absolutely excellent! The staff is fantastic and they really take care of the customers. They fed us breakfast and a bbq for lunch. The captain is great at giving you local history about the sites and she spends time talking to everyone. Marcella is the Snuba instructor and she is truly wonderful! She takes time letting you know EXACTLY what to expect. Snuba snorkeling is so worth every penny! It is an experience I will always remember and will definitely be doing it again! I had the absolute best experience with Maui Magic Snorkeling! From start to finish, the staff was so kind, friendly, and welcoming they really made the trip extra special. The snorkeling itself was breathtaking, and they provided all the gear we needed, which was super helpful and convenient since we didn't have to worry about bringing anything. The food and drinks on board were also amazing!!! and such a nice touch after being out in the water. This snorkeling tour was everything I was wanting it to be. Coral Gardens is great for viewing an awesome variety of marine life. The water is a little murkier than Molokini (earlier this week), but way less crowded with people. We were there for the snorkeling, and the captain let us swim to our hearts content! The tour stayed there well over an unhurried hour including a tasty "Maui Wowie" bbq sandwich. The crew made us feel like we were all good friends, their efforts non-stop. I took 4 teenagers and myself on the Maui Magic. I had previously been on this trip and wanted my grandkids and their friends to have a wonderful. The kids had a great time. After a few mouthfuls of salt water they became quite comfortable snorkeling. CAPTAIN Charlene and her crew treated us like royalty. Saw to every request, plenty of food, sun and fun. My husband and I went on this snorkeling adventure while we were in Maui. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. We did not get to see any sea turtles but we saw more whales than we did on the whale watching tour and also saw lots of dolphins. We snorkeled at La Perouse Bay and it was absolutely gorgeous. We were served pastries and choice of hot tea, coffee, or hot cocoa in the morning when we boarded, and a delicious lunch that consisted of hamburgers and hotdogs after we finished snorkeling. The Captain and staff were amazing !! Staff was so friendly, nice & helpful with everything!! I can't say enough wonderful things about Maui Magic . It is a smaller boat which is great it was almost like taking a private charter! We went today 12-18-23 Captain even took extra time showing us some whales and dolphins! In recent years I've gone snorkeling in Hawaii, the South Pacific and the Bahamas. All the crews were good although the snorkeling revealed that there are fewer fish and coral to see than years ago. The best and most helpful crew consisted of Captain Charlene, First Mate Katie and others aboard the Maui Magic in Hawaii. They did a great job. They were friendly, professional and fun to be with. And the grub was excellent. I had the Maui Wowie hamburger grilled by the Captain herself. Highly recommended. read more

Don't usually pay for tours but this was worth every dollar! The staff were absolutely amazing (particularly Jason and Katie). They always had Eddie keeping an eye on everyone in the water and helping people that dropped things that sank to the bottom. Eddie made sure you didn't get too far away. I appreciated the free mineral based coral safe sunblock. The hour at the crater and turtle town went by so quickly. Definitely try to be the first one off the boat if you can to maximize your time. They provide wetsuits for rentals if you need it. They also have a lady that is an underwater photographer and she did a nice job of trying to get photos of everyone which I think is the most difficult job on the ship. I liked her photos but thought $45 for a single photo was a bit too steep. I appreciate the fruits and pastures from Whole Foods and the coffee and also the sandwiches and potato salad and juice for lunch. They were delicious. There is something about snorkeling that makes you hungrier than normal. I always felt safe on the boat. A couple of things to point out, the boat gets pretty full so if you want to a covered seat get there early and if you want to sit in the very front you will get wet from the waves coming through the netting. Also the parking there was much more than I thought and read. It was $18ish dollars for 5.5 hrs I was parked there. The parking on the parking only goes up to 3 hours so don't risk getting a ticket even that parking is like $1/hr. The only other thing g which is totally out of the control of Malolo is the amount of tour companies to contend with when you get to the crater. It felt too crowded and too many people there. At Turtle Town there were hardly any turtles on the day we went unfortunately. I had seen more turtles on our own at other beaches than at turtle town, but I did see a couple of turtles. In general, people aren't aware of snorkeling etiquette and oblivious to their surroundings. I had snorkelers cut me off, crash into me, and taking their sweet time getting on and off the boat with the single stairs. Overall a good trip if you want to get out to the crater, but as for turtles, go to a beach on west Maui and you won't really have any issues.

I really appreciated how they tried to maximize our time spent in the water and not just riding in the boat. It is a small tour (about 20 people max), so you never feel overly crowded on the boat or at the snorkeling sites. We were able to go to 3 different locations (Molokini crater, the reef in front of Molokini and a turtle cleaning station. We saw a ton of fish, a turtle or two, plus a cute little squid and three octopuses. Deckhands Kelly and Josh were outstanding! They were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. They definitely made our day! We would definitely book another trip with Seafire in the future. Lucia said that people can come to snorkel at turtle town from the beach. (Behind turtle town are 4-8million condos ). Evidently the beach isn't private , so you could come back on your own.
