On our visit we had the special salt and pepper pork chops. This plate came with 5 pieces of pork chops with soup, egg rolls and rice and chowmein. The serving was just right and probably could have been split by 2 people. I had the hot and spicy shrimp. This was so delicious. It also came with an egg roll. The staff were amazing and so friendly. The look and feel of the new place was perfect and an upgrade from where they were. Second visit to the new location and the decor is stunning! Came for lunch and ordered the lunch special which I believe was the Bun Bowl ($12.99). We also ordered 2 appetizers: Pot Stickers and Salt and Pepper Shrimp. The pork pot stickers were perfectly fried and very flavorful. The salt and pepper shrimp are a must order! Perfectly fried and perfect spiciness! My lunch special came with the egg flower soup which was perfectly seasoned and I loved the addition of the veggies in the soup. The wonton crunchies were my personal favorite! The Bun Bowl had the salt and pepper shrimp and these amazing crunchy topping! I wish I had asked for a 2nd serving of the sauce that came with the bowl as I felt the bowl needed more of that delicious sauce. We were driving through Bakersfield and stopped for a bite. The food was really good! The place is clean, cozy, and trendy! We ordered a chicken and mushroom bowl and beef pho. I was pleasantly surprised on how good the chicken bowl was and the pho serving size was authentic (huge) and tasty with the regular seasonings of onions, fresh mint, bean sprouts, and cilantro. I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures of the food, but got one of the interior. There were two sides of the restaurant and a cute back room for a small (maybe 10 people) private party. The service was the confusing part. When we were ordering, the server acted like we were bothering her just by existing. Meanwhile she was being polite and cheerful to everyone else around us. After that she never checked on us. It honestly felt like we were eating inside a force field of being ignored. My absolute favorite is the Steve Special -- salt and pepper shrimp and salt and pepper chicken served over a bed of perfectly steamed rice with onions, peppers, and their amazing house spices. You can even upgrade to fried rice for a little extra (totally worth it!). The flavor and spice are spot on every single time. Their Mango Tea is another must-try -- so simple yet unbelievably refreshing. I also have to shout out their Chinese Fried Chicken -- it's marinated to perfection, juicy, and packed with flavor. Definitely one of those dishes that keeps you coming back. As for service, Amy is one of my usual servers and she's the absolute best! I always tip when I go out, but some servers just make it so easy -- and Amy definitely does. Ints perfect and refreshing lychee fruit in the bottom notes it an ideal start or finish to the meal. On this visit, the appetizers and entrees were as normal ,very good. The Cream Cheese wontons offered a satisfyingly crispy exterior with a creamy, filling. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp were fried to perfection, However, the real star of the show, in my opinion, remains their Shrimp or Chicken Pad Thai, the beef isnt especially good but still tasty. It's simply the best I've had in Bakersfield. Adding to the overall positive atmosphere was the exceptional service provided by Amy.
