Interesting restaurant in Bakersfield. The inside is actually much larger and nicer than you might expect from the outside. The menu is an interesting mix of Vietnamese, Chinese, and local Hawaiian dishes. The service was really friendly and the food was delicious. We were a little concerned as we've found in the past when restaurants mix different cuisines they tend to do each poorly or not as good as places that focus on the individual types. While we only had a couple of dishes, we really enjoyed what we got. We will definitely be back again! Atmosphere: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Value: 3/5 Total: 3.5/5 Price: $ Rating Criteria: Based on comparisons to other establishments in the area 1/5: Terrible, would not recommend 2/5: Might be worth it depending on price and other factors. 3/5: Solid option. Average in this category for the area. 4/5: Above average and excels in this area. 5/5: Excellent, needs no improvement Pricing Criteria: Based on what we spent $: $0 - $50 per person $$: $50 - $100 per person $$$: $100 - $200 per person $$$$: $200 - $500 per person $$$$$: $500+ per person Please be mindful that reviews are based on personal experience which may differ from person to person based upon a multitude of factors (individual/specific workers, time of day, personal preferences, etc). Pricing may also differ and is reflected here based on what we paid for our meal. We typically enjoy multiple courses with our meals including appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts, and sometimes drinks or tasting menus when available. Please do your own research if concerned about potential pricing.

My husband and I tried this place for the first time with family and we had an amazing experience! The wait was a bit long but worth the wait. We started off with the Pu Pu Platter appetizer and ordered 2 combo meals, everything was delicious! Food was brought out fast as well. We had dinner with a show! We happened to come on the a last Wednesday of the month where they do live performances, so fun!

The food was great, the service was excellent, and it's nice inside. We really enjoyed our lunch and we had lots of leftovers. There were lots of families eating there i'm guessing they have great kids menu.. Their lunch specials are affordable and you have plenty of leftovers for later.

Maui Pho never disappoints. Even when they're busy, the service is efficient. Everything I've ordered has been delicious, and they have filling lunch specials. The staff is friendly, but busy so you have to sometimes we have to wave them down for help. It's the kind of place you can count on for consistently great food. I highly recommend giving it a try if you're in Bakersfield!

Love the new location. Haven't been here since the move. Way more elegant than the old place. I really didn't like the "check yourself in" process. Takes away the initial human touch first experience. The menu was extensive. So many things I could not decide. We ordered a pu pu platter so we could try a little bit of everything. Hubby was undecided over the Volcano and Maui Fried Rice. I had a long list of things I wanted to try. I settled on string beans and chicken. He decided on Maui Fried Rice and a guava lemonade (I think. Could have been Mango iced tea). Everything on the Pu Pu Plater was good. I tasted everything and would order everything again. Hubby said the fried rice gave his all time favorite place a "run for the money". He was very pleased with his dish. Now for my dish. . . the green beans were still very hard and the dish overall lacked flavor. Not sure I'd order that again. But that's not stopping me from going back. The server was super nice, friendly, and funny. Really enjoyed her. We ordered a wor won ton soup to go (for my son). He was hesitant at first because of all the vegetables but he really liked the flavor and texture of the won tons.

I came with a party of 8 on a weekday for lunch. The interior was very colorful and welcoming. The food took a while to come out. But the portion sizes were quite large, especially for the pho. I ordered the special pho, which had a generous amount of meat. I also ordered the Vietnamese coffee which tasted slightly watered down compared to other places I've had it. Overall, we had a great experience and will return for more!

This place is Fire! Everything I have tried here is delicious. Amy, our server is adorable and friendly. Service is impeccable. The place is clean with comfortable seating. I crave the food here all the time. If you come on Wednesdays, they have hula dancers, I have missed it each visit. Hopefully, I will be in Bakersfield on a Wednesday soon! 1/29/26

Came here for dinner, glad we did. A quick dinner turned into a date night as we ordered some refreshing drinks. The service was great, and quick. The lighting was nice, not too bright. The food was hot, fresh, and plenty to take home for that midnight snack lol

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Maui Pho Fusion BBQ Grill. I have eaten here before but it was my husband and daughter's first time. We arrived and were seated quickly. Our server took our drink order right away, which was a nice start. My daughter and I shared the pupu platter along with an order of vegetable chow mein, and my husband ordered the Szechuan tofu. Everything tasted great, and the portion sizes were very generous, definitely enough to share. The flavors were on point and the food came out hot and fresh. My husband commented on the crisp texture of the tofu, which doesn't always happen when eating tofu. The wait staff was a little slow at times, but overall it didn't take away from the quality of the food or the experience. We left full and happy and would absolutely come back to try more items on the menu.

The food was delicious! Authentic Chinese wok taste with Hawaiian fusion flavor. Enjoyed every dish! Beautiful presentation and wonderful flavors.

We ordered the pu pu platter, which had a lot of variety--skewers, potstickers, rangoons, and more. It was definitely enough food for two people, and we even had leftovers. We also ordered an extra order of chicken skewers that were made differently or had a different sauce, and those were way better than the ones on the platter. My kids ordered the chili wontons, and those were amazing--hands down a favorite at the table. Overall, all the food was good. The main downside was the service timing. Everything came out at different times, which wasn't ideal, and it seemed like there wasn't one dedicated server for the entire place. Every table was full, and it felt pretty hectic. I've been here before and usually have a very good experience, so I'm hoping they're able to provide more help for the servers because the food itself is solid. There was also plenty of seating available.

Little hidden gems. Lighting is dark with bits color and neon popping through. The Bar Top curves around the bar- there are two booths that seat 5-6 and two short tables next to them- one seats 4- the other will comfortably seat two. There are a few bench style seating areas at the front with some short coffee tables. Think- skater tiki bar. The drinks were good- small menu if you're not sure what you want or are new to tiki. Both sides of the menu are the same menu. There are some nice mocktail options as well- you don't see that often. The service for me is mixed- it wasn't busy- steady but not busy- 1/4 full. I ordered two drinks to start for our table- (no cocktail servers here/not unusual for a small Tiki bar) I asked for a soda water- the bartender looked at me without a word- popped open a can of soda water and walked away. When he walked back by, I asked for a glass of ice- he said nothing and I got an eye-roll huff. I almost left. I don't think providing a glass with ice to pour your canned room temp soda water in, is too wacky an idea to be perturbed by the request. The female who took the order was friendly, smiled and was professional. We got a third cocktail- the Mai Tai. The grumpy bartender was friendlier this time. So, that helped. Maybe he felt overwhelmed and I threw off his groove by asking for water- then a glass... either way- being annoyed wasn't cool. The music.... Wasn't Tiki- it threw off the "Tiki Vibe" and made it feel typical small local bar that serves only Tiki drinks with some Tiki decor. It didn't take you to the land of Tiki- disappointed. Drinks were good.

Of course, I had to try their famous tri-tip sandwich and added a side of fries. The sandwich was loaded with tri-tip, tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with their BBQ sauce. The fries were a great addition and made the meal even more filling. I also ordered the Southwestern salad with chicken, and when I opened the container, I was honestly impressed by how much food they packed in there. It was huge, fresh, and loaded with chicken, avocado, black beans, corn, peppers, and plenty of toppings. Definitely not one of those salads that leaves you hungry afterward! I also have to give Firestone Grill credit for the sauces. They gave me two large containers of BBQ sauce AND two generous containers of dressing. As someone who hates when restaurants give you one tiny sauce for an entire meal, I appreciated that more than I probably should. No sauce rationing over here! I did takeout this time, but they offer self-seating and have a full bar, so next time I definitely want to dine in, grab a drink, and enjoy the full experience
